Fly late at night so you arrive later in the morning and can have a better chance of encountering less traffic if you take a taxi from CDG to Paris. Another alternative is the RER-B which is located in Terminal 2. There are easy ways to get to Term 2 from Term 1 or 3. The ticket machines are located in the train station.

Pack light, a carry on is perfect for a week in Paris and you’ll save time by not waiting for your baggage. Also Orly airport is not as busy and has convenient transportation to all places

Your guide to booking Paris flights

From booking to airport arrival, find tips to help you plan your flight with more confidence.
  • For the best chance at a low fare to Paris, aim to book around 5 weeks before you fly. That window historically saves about 11% versus last-minute pricing based on KAYAK booking data over the last 12 months.
  • For flights to Paris, recent KAYAK data shows that stronger deals tend to land around $654 round-trip. If you see a fare below that threshold, it's a strong deal – book before the price climbs back up.
  • If you can choose when to go, time your trip to Paris around January. Round-trip fares historically average $623 that month – typically the cheapest month to travel based on the last 12 months.
  • Before you book:

    • Check the route's typical price range so you can spot a deal.
    • Confirm baggage fees and seat-selection costs on budget carriers.
    • Verify whether you need any travel documents beyond ID.
    • Pick a departure airport, since your nearest may not be the cheapest origin.
  • Shift your departure to evening to save up to $112 per round-trip. Evening flights to Paris average $879 compared to $991 for noon flights. See the time-of-day chart above for the full breakdown.
  • Bag allowances vary by airline, fare type, cabin class and route. On flights to Paris, some airlines may include bags at no extra cost. For example, Air France includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy Class, Delta includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy Class and French Bee includes a cabin bag and a checked bag in Economy Class. Always check the fare details before booking, since bag policies can change by ticket type.
  • Once you arrive in Paris, a few great places to start are Eiffel Tower, Gare du Nord and Gare de Lyon. These are popular with first-time visitors and can give you a good feel for the area.
  • If you want to relax at any of the lounges at Paris Orly Airport, obtain a lounge permit or pay at the door regardless of your flying class of service. The new Extime Lounge is in the duty-free area at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport, Terminal 2BD and Terminal 1, while the Premium Traveler Lounge is at Orly 1.
  • There are several chapels at Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG) for passengers to pray, reflect, and meditate. Terminal 1 hosts an interfaith chapel on Level 2, whereas Level 1 is home to a synagogue. There is a Multifaith Prayer Area at the Arrivals Level of Terminal 4 and Multifaith Offices at Gate H of Terminal 4 and Level 2 of Terminal 1.
  • Passengers disembarking at Paris Orly Airport are greeted by artwork displayed at the Paris Orly South Terminal. The sketches give the airport life, transforming travelers’ experiences.
  • As one of the fashion capitals of the world, Paris unsurprisingly maintains this reputation even in its airports – Lacoste and Burberry are both located in Orly. In Charles de Gaulle, there are numerous high fashion boutiques such as Louis Vuitton, Hermes, and Chanel.
  • For travelers with a love for vintage video games, CDG has you covered. Gaming areas with play stations and arcade games are located in both Halls L and K. After all, what better way could there be to spend a layover than catching up on some gaming classics?
  • Paris is serviced by two major international airports. Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG) serves as the largest international hub for Paris and for France in general, while Paris Orly Airport (ORY) is more domestically focused and is one of the busiest domestic hubs in France.
  • Paris-Beauvais Airport serves as a tertiary budget option for many European travelers as well. Though technically located in the Picardy region some 50 miles north of Paris, the airport remains an important hub for discount flights to Paris.
  • Trains and buses offer easy and quick access to both Orly and Charles de Gaulle. Both SNCF and RER B trains connect directly to CDG, while RER B and C trains and Tramway 7 connect to Orly. The RER trains are often the cheapest and one of the quickest ways to reach either airport. Shuttle buses, though slower than trains, also are a good option for many travelers after their flight to Paris, as they offer direct routes from the airport to many of the most famous sites in Paris.
  • If you're unwell, Paris Orly Airport (ORY) offers urgent medical care and pharmacy services. Medical services are at Terminal 1-2 near Gate 10A, whereas the pharmacy is at Gate 21D.
  • Are you a business traveler looking to stay productive while at the airport? Stay on top of your work at the Paris Orly’s Hall B in South Terminal. It is equipped with working stations as well as charging ports.

Everything went very smoothly. Airplane food simply is never great but they were quite generous and very attentive. I was impressed.

Great flight! Only complaint I had was that I didn’t get breakfast that morning because I don’t eat eggs for breakfast.. I ate an energy bar I bought in the airport which I had never done before. Otherwise, another great Delta flight!

Food TERRIBLE! In First Class- so bad - why was it so much better 20-30 years ago? Comfort-awful-would rather have the old, plush First Class seats than the new hard - too short seats in the new pods -would advise avoiding Delta for any International Flights.

The airport process and boarding were fast. The airplane crew were nice but the food was bland and the seats extremely uncomfortable- my seat had an issue and couldn’t move back and made noise .

Boarding was chaotic. I didn’t finish dinner because I went to bed early. Breakfast omelet was overcooked and tasteless but croissant was better than usual. Plane was dirty—crumbs in every seam and lavatory was poorly maintained (paint peeling, etc.) and toilet paper had not been refreshed before takeoff. No cubby for storage in first and seat was narrow.

Horrible. Flight ORD to CGH was okay, but Paris was a nightmare. Old planes, delays, involuntary downgrades, broken planes, terrible communication. CGH to CPT was my worst flight ever.

Honestly, I didn’t expect that I will experience this long time wait during the check in. There was only one person who was taking care of the passengers for the economy class and it took us to wait about one hour to do our check i. As a result we barely get to the airplane as the gate was at the end of the airport. That is totally not professional where one crue is working at the registration desk with economy and 3-4 crues are helping for the business class.

Lost luggage! No representative of the airline present at the airport. Air France contracted the service out to a 3rd party service. The service has no ability to track the missing bag or provide a time frame on its arrival.

Very disappointed in the food selection. It was not good compared to other airlines.

It was delayed and I missed my connection to BHX

Our flight delayed, due to the incoming flight arriving late from Paris. AF caused us to miss our connecting flight, also booked through Air France directly. They couldn't accommodate us until later that night, and we had to be in AMS earlier than that. They won't do anything else to help us and wanted to charge us more money to rebook us too. Not great service, since it was all their fault.

Seats! The eternal problem in economy. They are like stones!!

Everything is good except the seats are tightened no rooms for the legs,

It was a great experience. The only thing I would have changed was that the bathrooms were never cleaned and they got very dirty.

It was an OK flight with below mediocre service by their flight attendants

Wasted a lot of time trying to find the CDG lounge - it was not next to the connecting flight gate like the Air France staff said.

The only reason the overall rating wasn't "excellent" was due to problems in claiming luggage. The bags are delivered to the main area (Cinta 35) for domestic passengers, but to a DIFFERENT ROOM for international arrivees. After waiting 30 minutes, someone (who didn't appear to be from Air France or the airport) told us to go to another area. There we found our bags, which appeared to have been awaiting us for a while. We had to go through a bag check before leaving the airport. If we had been alerted to this possibility, or better yet, been to go directly to Cinta 34, we could have eliminated quite a bit of waiting.

I did not get my baggage at my final destination..poor coordination with connecting flights with partner airlines (Saudi airways). Also the food was very mediocre.

Not great , just ok . I expected better food but it did not deliver . Flight staff was ok . The guy at the drop off bag counter was the only saving grace in this whole trip . He was pleasant, friendly and very helpful . You couldn’t ask for a better assistance from him .

The first half from DC to Paris was very good and the staff were very helpful and humble BUT flight from Paris to Mumbai was sad. 1) it was packed. 2) no space on head compartment 3) crews were unresponsive to the calls 4) one crew member literally banged the bottle of water after giving me glass of water. A little water splashed on me and she was unapologetic 5) with so many hours of flight, little leg space should be taken care else don’t fill your airline till brim which affects your crew and they remove anger on us. 6) huge line for washrooms. 7) 2nd half journey was pathetic

the entire flight felt off. The crew seemed uninterested and disengaged. The food service was really bad - overcooked, bland, weird food service. They actually woke us up to serve chicken wraps in the middle of the night, after dinner and before breakfast. Made no sense. Ultimately, I was glad they did though, because the breakfast had been held for so long it was inedible. Eggs, potatoes, sausage - all disgusting. We were asked to "honor" the lavatories for premium customers and stay in our own cabin: this was also strange. So people in economy didn't pay enough to use the closest toilet to them??? It's a toilet. All in all, not the experience I have come to expect from United Airlines. The return flight from Paris to SFO was better, btw.

Flight on time. Excellent service in Premium Economy. Great food served and cleaned up promptly. Unfortunately the climate control was malfunctioning and it was very cold and felt a bit like camping. Cold helps with sleep though so not complaining too much. Slept well. It asks to rate "entertainment". I do not like any IFE, don't shove a big screen in my face—I have my own phone if I want it. So this will always get low ratings.

I fly UAL 7-8 times per year. This flight was not up to snuff because it boarded very late "due to unexpected delays in restocking the plane" and yet Flight Aware showed the plane had landed some 10 hours earlier--so I think they could have planned accordingly. The FA's were nice but harried. The video system had to be rebooted 3-4 times. The food service was rather abrupt; they forgot my row and when I asked for my meal, they brought it with some impatience. Overall, the flight was fine, but the little details made it feel somewhat mundane and hurried.

They hired a new catering company the same day of my flight. They botched the job by not delivering the right carts and after THREE HOURS waiting, the flight crew timed out (flight was 19 hours long and FAA rules state crew can’t work more than 14 hours long). So they CANCELED OUR FLIGHT!! Worst experience ever. Avoid UAL at all costs.

Excellent, professional, actually on time which is rare for late flights. Decent food. I love the new neck pillows! Nice, simple upgrade from the old ones I wasn't sure where to put. I wish they would allow more time for rest. It's a red eye 7 hour flight and meal service was about 3 hours.

Flight was cramped with every seat taken. The food was fine, nothing crazy to write home about. The plane felt dated and needing some TLC, the button for the window shade didn't work and there were no AC outlets to use. When communicating with staff all except one nice lady never seemed happy to help me almost like I was bothering them when asked for things like a glass of water or a snack. The flight was overall fine. It did what was needed which is get me from point A to point B. But it certainly was not special. I don't expect much in economy but I believe economy on a host of other airlines is more memorable and better experience.

Check-in was a little confusing. I paid for extra luggage, but when i checked in the system didnt seem to know. Arrived in Paris early after a late departure. Luggage arrived on the same flight with no apparent damage.

Two staff were rude, loud and burnt out I think. Two were friendly kind and helpful.

Energetic crew - flight full of swiftied going to Taylor's opening show in Paris! Long lines for bathroom made out kind of suck though

Flight was delayed 2.5 hours - a big deal on an overnight when you plan to sleep.

Hard to figure out how to put back the seat, how to get the entertainment, how to upload passport docs. Also, a warning in the airport that food was all for purchase would have been helpful.

Horrible. My dad was recently hospitalized and diagnosed with lymphoma and Icelandair refused to refund flight even though I had a letter from his physician.

The WiFi wasn’t working, so no one could watch any entertainment for 5 hours. The plane also was delayed and did not leave, nor did the staff prioritize those with connecting flights to de-board first. Everyone with a connecting flight to Munich missed their flight by 5 minutes. Then the next flight to Munich was 14 hours later. The airport could not compensate us because the closest hotel was about 2 hours away. This did not seem like the truth. I was not pleased with this traveling experience.

I DO NOT recommend Iceland air...missed connecting flight.....paid for isle seat upgrade for health reasons...had to do that over....baggage left in the rain so clothes got soaked other items ruined....called customer * dont care* service

The ticket was reserved in my name but not paid for by underpricer. Alaska airlines was unable to issue my ticket (could not connect the ticket with the PNR) due to an error with underpricer and I spent the better part of 2 hours at the ticket counter trying to rectify.

Damage May baggage and I report the airport agant and they see it

Crew was very friendly. Need lay flat beds! More snacks

Good. Rxception is the Entertainment - movies and TV shows all out of date…

I liked the crew but not the uncomfortable seats and lack of movie and tv selection.

Never again. Terrible hospitality and human decency for an international flight. No food, no snacks, no beverages, blankets, pillows, limited entertainment. Tiny seats without any cushion and some do not even recline. I was shocked that they did not charge for seat belts. Never in my life have I witness asking for "spare change" for charity before landing on both legs of the flight. Icelandair can contribute on their own to said, so called, children's charity with the money saved from providing 3 centimeters of tea and water to hungry and dehydrated passengers.

It's acceptable.! 3 days late arrival of luggage. The problem can be due to airport services

I died before the flight, and they would not refund my ticket.

Excellent-boarding was quick and efficient, plenty of room in board. Friendly crew

Best price around. The food has gotten worse,,,might actually be better to board with one's own food... On time, professional staff at airport and on board.

I received an email and text message from French Bee less than 24 hours prior to my flight that there was a flight change. That flight change indicated that my flight had already left yet the message went out just under an hour before the new departure time. When calling French Bee staff (located in Texas so open at central time) they only said “sorry for the inconvenience “ and never offered or supplied information about a rebooking or what took place even when asked. They had a very blasé attitude about the entire situation. I had to buy a ticket on another airline because I was not told what was going on! A ticket to fly internationally on the same day!!!$$$$$$ so disappointing

Check in was in time. No free food. Not even water. Was asked to pay for water. Disgusting!

Economy seats are too tight for a long haul flight. The meal was surprisingly good, though it was surprising to learn that even coffee and tea were extra pay. They also don’t distribute water regularly.

Nothing, the flight was reasonable and good in all aspects

The food was so bad. Why can’t airlines serve decent food anymore.

Flight attendants and checking great .. comfort was the worst I’ve experienced, design of seat was poor , headrest uncomfortable, seat in front when extended crushed me and the temp was hot .. every minute felt like an hour .. and it was a 7 hr flight
