I loved the comfortable bed and the choice of pillows. Every thing was clean and nice, but the bed was Great. I only had two problems with my stay. The first problem was the sheets on the bed. They were clean and smelled wonderful, but what ever made the sheets smell so good was really bad for my sinuses, and very much prevented a good night sleep. The second problem was that I could not get the television out of the pay per view mode. I don't know for sure if was operator error, or a user unfriendly remote.
I had a single queen room that was large, clean, and very comfortable. Computer available in lobby so that I could check into my flight and print my boarding pass ahead of time. Friendly staff. There was nothing I didn't like.

The room was very clean. Comfortable beds. Breakfast had many choices of food to eat. I would stay there again. The pool and jacuzzi were broken down. Was looking forward to taking a morning swim, but didn't happen.
We liked their breakfast and location Their bathrooms were not clean. There was black hair all of the sides of the wall and looks like the inside of it has never been scrubbed. Sucks that I couldn't wash my children. they have a fridge that was gross . We will not be staying here again

The room was very clean and beautifully designed. I loved the flat screen TV and fold out couch. Also, the wireless internet was easy to use and the continental breakfast was simple and tasteful.
The waterpark was supposed to open on February 18th per the website and a phone call to the hotel - so we booked from February 20th to 24th. What they failed to inform us was that the Waterpark was only open the weekend before and the weekend afterwards. When we arrived on the Monday the person who greeted us and showed us to our room talked about the Waterpark being great and only later did we find out it was closed. We got 2 nights of the facility fee refunded, however the other 2 nights were not refunded and we chose this hotel especially because of the waterpark. Very disappointing.
Comfortable suites with good beds; lush vegetation; wonderful little swimming pool right across from our suite; restaurant patio dining; a great water park for kids; good gift shop. Furniture somewhat dated; very small bathroom; stained carpet in living room (except for that, the suite was very clean).
This isn't a very romantic resort. Too many places for families and not enough places for romance DO NOT LIKE THE EXTRA CHARGE AT THE DESK OF $49 FOR WHATEVER. I WAS CHARGED AN ADDITIONAL $110 WHICH $55 IS REIMBRUSED AFTER SO MUCH TIME. CHARGE WHAT YOU WILL AND LEAVE IT AT THAT. WE COME FOR THE SLIDES & LAZY RIVER LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. BUSINESS MAYBE DIFFERENT.
As always the Weather during Spring Break is wonderful. The general layout of the resort is wonderful. This is my 3rd trip here since 2009 and we want to make it a annual thing for myself and my kids, This trip we experienced a lot of horrible service, missed room services, not being attended to while at one of their restaurants. the exception was the last night we were there. I spent $5000 over a course of 6 nights we stayed..I would expect way better service when ones pays this much. Im considering not coming back due to the service not matching the price I paid. I also feel the resort could use a bit of updating and repair. Eep in the room when we had burnout light bulbs and once again they were never replaced on our stay.
Enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere... we celebrated our first year anniversary here and the staff was very courteous that we had an upgrade on our room and a bottle of wine given to us for free at your arrival! Excellent location! Restaurant had good quality food just a little overpriced.
We really enjoyed the Oasis Water Park they had different events going on which made it super fun for the kids. The room was clean, great location close to shops restaurants and more. Plenty of things to do at resort.

We loved our comfortable room. We loved the waterpark. We loved being able to check in a little early. We didn't love not being able to bring a few snacks into the waterpark. They make sure you have to buy them there.
The water park is so fun ! There are so many fun things to do there the water slides are awesome! The beds are super comfy too!! There's a resort fee that should just be included in the price but it's for a good reason and the room service is a bit high .
Staff.Staff and Staff is the resorts strength... Luz was great; fast and friendly. She got us checked in and on our way quickly with limited swim time available......that was important. We went for the water park & got more than we expected for the holiday with extended hours & activities for the children. For an additional amount we could check out later & enjoy the park more. Staff were very courteous. No microwave
I can't remember being more impressed with a hotel compared to this one! My room was HUGE, clean and nicely furnished with a great little fridge/freezer, microwave and the rest of the standard items. In addition to free continental breakfast, they provide a free dinner every night with free tap or bottled beer and wine!!! The pool faces west so you get sun all the way till sunset. The staff was amazingly friendly...a guy got wasted drunk and threw up in the pool so they asked him to leave the pool, and of course he was quite argumentative, but the manager that was escorting him did an incredible job of calming him down and even carried all his stuff (two coolers and more) for him as he walked him back to his room. The front desk was remarkably friendly, and when my flight landed at the nearby airport (Phoenix-Mesa Gateway), I called them to ask for a shuttle pick up, and before I even hung up the phone the driver was pulling up at the curb. Even the housekeepers were awesome and friendly. It's located kitty-corner from a Circle K that is pretty large with a great selection and a Red Box, and within a mile there's shopping of all sorts including a Target, Fry's, Walmart and plenty of restaurants, all of which are reachable by bus, and there's a bus stop right in front of the hotel. Holy WOW I was BEYOND satisfied with this place!!! It would be nice if there was a wider pool deck so that there could be more space between the pool and the fence for lawn chairs so that you could still walk around them, but I made due just fine :)
Great hot breakfast every morning. Pretty quiet, room was satisfactory but a little dated with the standard air conditioner under the window. Quick access to the 202. Upside of somewhat isolated location is quiet at night. Whew, if smells bother you, be prepared when the wind is the wrong direction from the dairy farm not far away. No cameras in the parking lot, so we couldn't tell whether our rental got keyed there or the shopping center we went to for dinner.
We went to the hotel while our house is being repaired for mold issues. The Kayak website advertised this hotel as clean but that was not true. The first room we got (108) smelled like smoke from cigarettes and the bathroom smelled like pee. We asked for a different room and they gave us 109. The pillows smelled like human sweat and when we were ready to go to bed we noticed small black particles in the sheets. I felt what I can describe as a bug bite and a red rash developed. We (my two kids and my 8-month pregnant wife) packed as fast as we could and we got out of there.
Location - aside from dairy farm. Shocked that anyone would build a hotel in the cloud path of multiple dairy farms. No way would I stay here again. I stayed for 3 nights, really planned to leave, but got so busy I didn't. We just suffered being hot at night, because we couldn't use the A/C due to smells.
It was very helpful to have a shuttle to the airport. Staff was great. Didn't use the pool. Breakfast was good. Nice to have a small bar with appetizers.

I requested a spacious room and the room I got seemed pretty spacious. The hotel seemed to be a new construction so everything seemed pretty new. Air conditioner held the temperature well. Pool area looked nice, but I ended up not having time to enjoy it. This hotel is in Gilbert AZ not Mesa AZ so it is about a twenty minute drive to downtown Mesa. It appears to be near farming land so the fertilizers they use do carry a smell. I was unable to get my first night refunded, because I booked online on kayak and not through them directly. I do not know if they would have given me the refund had I done direct like they were suggesting, but that is how they made it sound. I had a situation where I could not arrive on the first night and had to get a hotel in another city so I paid for two hotel rooms that night.

Course is fun to play. The staff was friendly and went out of their way to please. Prime rib was excellent and the restaurant staff was very efficient and nice. The resort was built in 1960, so things are a little dated, but they are working on upgrades all the time. The kitchenette is a great option for the people who don't like to eat out every night! P.S. Don't eat the oranges on the trees they are an ornamental variety and YUCK!!!
My room was next to the pool, the rooms were a good size, staff was amazing, was given late checkout until 1:30 for no charge, the golf terraine is gorgeous, there were other families there on Saturday which made it nice for my daughter to play, pool was very clean, there are 2 pools, the smaller pool is nicer, pool is open late, hot tubs are large, store across the street, lots of restaurants around, no bedbugs. Hot tub wasn't working by large pool, furniture in room is from 1967 and smells accordingly, rooms feel like a mix between a skanky motel and retirement home, the whole place feels like a retirement home, I went to the restaurant and it was gross, waitress was very rude to me and I left, rooms don't feel very secure, some really shady looking guests, towels are nasty, purchased Lysol wipes and wiped down my ENTIRE room after I was told my room was non refundable, it was filthy, including the toilet, bed very uncomfortable, there was blood on my sheets.
The room was big and very clean. The kitchenette was a nice amenity, too. The bathroom area was very functional with the shower/toilet in a separate room from the sink and very long counter (loved the counter space!). Although standard in most hotels, having a functioning iron and board that didn't leave a stain on my shirts was a life saver. I am a big coffee drinker. I would've like to see a little more than maxwell house coffee filters for the old style coffee pot. I tried it once and couldn't do it twice. Ended up going out for coffee.

The 1st we was given was dirty, needed updated. We asked for a second room, it was also dirty & needed updated. The 3rd room was dirty, needed updated & the beds were not made. We asked to cancel & they agreed. We would not stay in any of these rooms even if they were free.

Everyone was very friendly, accommodating, everyone from housekeeping to front desk, maintenance, wait staff at the restaurant The restaurant has a tent menu on the tables, I asked Suna, one of the waitstaff to order a couple of the small plates to go so I could eat them in my hotel room. She said no, the small plates are for golf members only, I also explained that I am staying at the hotel, she said no, but they have a buffet they are setting up and it would be ready at noon. I never went back for food. If I can't order what I want for food, I won't give you my business.
Strange parking situation but not bad
We stayed in this hotel for 5 nights. It was our worst hotel experience ever. On the 3rd night, around midnight, the fire alarms in the entire hotel went off. The entire hotel was evacuated, seemingly because someone had burned popcorn. On our 4th night, we noticed the sink was filling with water and black sludge while the faucet was NOT on. We alerted hotel management, they did not have someone to fix it until morning and did not have a king size bed to move us to. By the morning, the entire bathroom floor was flooded. Somehow that morning at 7am, they "located" another king size room to move us to. Once we arrived in the second room, we noticed that the flushing mechanism for the toilet was completely busted. We alerted management again and expressed our extreme displeasure. Their response to us, " Well it's a hotel. Things break." The hotel is 15 years old. Terrible, terrible stay, Upon speaking with the management upon leaving, they offered to comp 1 night and that's it. Lovely, NOT.

Nothing Upon our arrival and check in, we were assigned a room on the fifth floor. Having brought a number of items for family members, we needed to unload our vehicle as the Motel is located in a high crime area; full of abandoned buildings which previously housed Night Clubs, Pubs, Movie Theaters, Restaurants, and Strip Malls. I went in search of a luggage cart to speed and easy the task. Not finding any in the area of the elevator, I returned to the lobby and asked the front desk attendant where they stored them. I was informed they could be anywhere in the Hotel. After searching seven floors, I finally found one outside in the parking area. It was the one, and only one for the entire Hotel. Next problem we encountered was when I flushed the stool in the bathroom and water sprayed out from between where the tank sets on the bowl. I notified the front desk of the problem, and following repeated notifications to the front desk of the leak, it was repaired on the fourth day of our stay. During our stay, the fire alarm went off three times resulting in our evacuating the Hotel down five flights. The Hotel was undergoing major repairs due to the roof leaking and major water damage to dry wall in many areas of the Hotel. The quality of the Continental Breakfast was very poor and second rate. We went out for breakfast after the first morning.

Online check in sucks. They texted me that the room is ready at 3 pm but ending up waiting in the lobby for 1 hr. False reassurance. I suggest to call instead.
Hotel is new, attractively appointed, clean and well maintained with a friendly and helpful staff. The hotel maintains a pleasant, spacious and convenient dinning area with bar facilities. At the back side of the hotel is a well maintained and very green driving range and golf course - with restful seating at the back of the hotel for hotel guests for outside dinning, just restful reading or conversation. The hotel is well located so that it is pleasantly peaceful and quiet.

Front desk personnel very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was disappointing. No fruit. Annoying radio on loud that wasn't clearly on a radio station. Irritating static, why bother? Bath tub had no plug, had to use a plastic cup to keep water in.
This was the lowest priced place I could find in Mesa for this particular night. There was a glitch with the room key the staff was helpful and brought a new key to me so I could get into my room. The room was clean overall, but the rooms also show their age. Honestly Ramada does not seem to have updated the facilities just slapped their name on the main sign. There are still signs for the original place Dobson Ranch. It was difficult to park and I had to park on the far end of the complex in relation to my room. The room was clean overall, but the rooms also show their age. There might be mold in the bathrooms I could not tell for certain. The bed was not comfortable.
The room wasn't very clean. AC thermostat was very old had to guess as to what temperature it was set to. The breakfast only had eggs, white bread, and waffles. The outside sign was a banner. Very disappointing!
Horrible! Never experience such rude & uncaring staff. I was put in the back of the hotel. I check into my room to find an uncleaned room! Very messy, alcoholic beverage bottles & an empty container of vodka on the floor. The room stunk like alcoholic beverages & cigarettes. I took pictures of the room on my phone & showed the front desk staff. They denied the room being dirty & refused to get me into another room UNTIL I call Kayak to see if I can be placed elsewhere. Then the front desk staff worked with my spouse to get us into different rooms. I was offered a one night free stay for inconvenience since the rooms had king size beds and one room had a sleeper sofa but the second room only had a couch. No roll away beds were available. Orignal rooms booked was for two queen beds. I never called back the manager for free room stay. I was soo disappointed with the Ramada staff. I don't think I want to book rooms with Ramada again.
Comfy bed, really good curtains which blocked out almost all light. Spacious room. Shower had clearly not been cleaned - there were several longer hairs still in it and some shorter ones too. Otherwise the room was quite clean - it seemed like the maid had literally forgotten to clean the shower. People in room next door were smoking pot and very noisy. Not hotel's fault, but the fact there was a door between the rooms meant that the pot smoke went under the door into our room such that we could smell it strongly, and made the noisy neighbors worse. Maybe the hotel would have dealt with both situations well, but we had arrived from a long trip and were too tired to complain.

Why ask at time of booking about your requests if they do not honor it or sem to know that there was even one asked for..if I asked for a back 2nd floor suite..why try & give me a 1st floor front roomm ?? Second time this happened .
The hotel was convenient to shopping and close to our golf school. The front desk staff were really nice, but they didn't appear to be overly competent. The room was not cleaned properly; bathroom sinks not cleaned; bed very poorly made with bedspread left piled on the floor.
It had no internet connection and its staff left a lot to be desired not very helpful. Internet connection was supposed to be available but was not and they could not care less.Of the many hotels I have booked through you this was the first hotel I felt I had to complain about.Finbarr Ross take it off your list.
The facility appears to be clean and the grounds and pool are very nice. It is a good location for our purposes. Hot water was in short supply--especially in the evening. Although the bed was soft and comfortable--the sheets were paper thin and better quality linens could have added comfort to the sleeping experience
the location is very good close to Phoenix and those attractions. We even went to edona for a day trip. The staff helpful. The room was poorly appointed. The bed was terrible. There was very poor water pressure. We could not believe that there wasn't free wi-fi. We found this to be archaic & unacceptable.
I love the location and the nice facilities. Staff is friendly and helpful. Food is good and golf course is reasonably priced. I don't like that the attached bar closes to early during the week (9pm). We were toward the front of the whole area and the flag was displayed directly in front of our room. There was NOT adequate window shades to block out the continuous very bright light.
Nice rooms for the price, fun waterpark, but the pools were dirty and the pool pavers were blistering hot on our feet.

I like the location on 16th Street. Nice bars and restaurants close by. Water park was fun. Rooms are a bit dated. Water park was smaller than I was hoping. Not a lot of choices for dining on resort during summer.
The hotel was very kid friendly and beautiful. The river ranch was a blast. Our room was large with a great view. Our room was dirty. It didn't look like the bath tub had been cleaned at all. I had to rinse several hairs down the drain before I could even shower my kids. The carpet was absolutely terrible which became extremely noticeable once my 10 month old started crawling on it. The service was ok some of the staff was super friendly and helpful others were almost rude. All of that being said, I would still stay here again with high hopes of the room being a little cleaner.

The pool was great! The pool staff was excellent and always around if you needed anything! We were unable to check in early, so they said they would text us when our room was ready which should have been by 4 because that's the time of check in. Around 4:30 still no text, so we decided to go check ourselves. When I spoke with the woman at the front desk about checking in she said our room was still not ready. Luckily she moved something around and got us into a room, but what if I hadn't gone to the front desk and just waited for a text who knew how long we would have waited. If check in is at 4 then we should have been in a room by that time. Also the housekeeping never came to clean our room on the second day which I found very odd.
The amount of space for the King bedroom suites was very accommodating. There are two separate rooms, a living room area with a pull out bed is great to use if you have additional folks with you or children, and a separate bedroom in case you want more privacy. The staff were very knowledgeable and responsive. I didn't need much assistance, but for the few questions or needs I had, they were quick to aid me. The resort is kept up well. It has stayed up-to-date since my last stay there 20 years ago. I'm happy to see it has been kept in good condition. I went to the spa and the masseuse was incredibly experienced and did an exceptional job. I would highly recommend the spa. There are a few small areas that the resort could improve on: -I noticed it was very difficult reaching hotel staff by phone. I tried every single line (ie Guest Request, Room Service, Front Desk..) just to try to reach someone. This happened to me about 5-6 times within my first 36 hours. They could work on beefing up availability of folks to answer phones. -The spa was fantastic, and one of the showers was very dark, and had one ceiling light which was not in the shower. This made the room dark after pulling the shower curtain. It didn't do justice to the overall appearance to the spa. -Also I would recommend the spa supplying a few creature comforts in the locker room, such as disposable combs for people to use after showers.
This place is beautiful. The grounds and buildings are recently remodeled and they are very clean. The room had a lot of space. Parking was great, and the resort fee was actually worth it for once. They give you a lot for the $24 a night fee, I had no complaints.
Aging but acceptable property The practice of a mandatory resort fee seems to be a gouging tactic if you don't use the services. Not against this property specifically, just the industry practice. Other than that, a pleasant stay.
Easy check in They boast "millions of dollars in recent renovations" but the rooms are just awful. I remember this resort from many years ago, and at the time it was very nice. They have basically let the whole place become run down and have milked it for all the money they can get out of it. It is a run down crappy "resort" now, and should be condemned.
I loved the cozy rooms, I get cold very easily so I was able to turn the heat on full blast while being in a SUPER comfy bed. Room service was amazing and very quick and the staff were very nice and helpful.
The breakfast was good; the room was clean and comfortable. The pool could have been a little warmer, and the hotel was difficult to get to. It was behind several other businesses and there was no sign out front.

Location was great and the staff were understanding and very accommodating . The hotel bar was great A Resturant was available in hotel but it's prices were much to high as high class restaurants were nearby and offered affordable meals and a wide variety which wasn't available in hotel. You can't ask high prices for meals with superior competition right next door.

Everyone from the two gentleman at the front desk to the woman who cared for us in the 'pub' was extremely pleasant. They obviously value customer service a lot. The only nit-picky thing I can even think of to put as 'bad' would be that the doors and fixtures for the door seem older and don't seem like the most secure thing.

Renovated rooms are very comfortable and stylish. Deluxe rooms have a patio and stall shower. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is extensive and well priced. Public areas have been beautifully redone. Did not dislike anything
Great location, close to the highway and a ton of restaurants. When we got to our room the temperature was 79* and kept climbing, lowering the setting did not help. We left for dinner, called front desk and they said someone would be up shortly to look. 2 hours later, we returned to the room and the temp was now 80* and nobody had been there. It took a second call, someone came up, fixed it, and then an additional hour before the room was comfortable to sleep in...
There was a dj poolside all day, then a jazz band played on the roof directly above me until 10:00 pm. 7:00 am kids yelling bloody murder in the pool, if you don't like sleep this is your spot
Staff was very nice and the restaurant was good. Beds were comfortable and room was a pretty good size. Rooms were a little run down and carpet was a little dirty, some things in the bathroom were broken and bathroom was really small.
Location was good for what I needed. Other than that, stay away. Bedding was clean, staff was attentive and polite, but the place has not been maintained. At all. The property may have ranked a 4 star rating long ago, but it honestly looks like that was the last time they even spent a dime on upkeep of the structure. Again, the employees were great, but the place is a dump. Room had carpet that was withered and frayed, looked like it had been installed in the 80's. As if that wasn't enough of a tip off, there were several huge stains that literally looked like a donkey had urinated a few times - again, quite a while ago. Air vents have not been cleaned since the last century, so if you are into breathing spores, other people's skin cells, and bacteria - this place is for you. I also had the pleasure of sharing the suite with a loud buzzing noise every 55-60 seconds. Sounded like a cell phone on a table vibrating. After a few nights of putting up with this, I decided to investigate. Really with I had not... first I found a huge 36" x 16" hole hacked out of the wall behind a mirror hanging in the connecting hallway to the front room. This had some other mismatching hunk of drywall dangling in it, not really doing much to seal the hole. Emergency plumbing repair unfinished? Maybe the source of the camel pee stains, don't know. Finally, I found the item responsible for the 55 second interval alarm... behind the vent in the ceiling, a cheap recirculation pump was mounted with no thought for vibration dampening. Seriously, this thing was absurdly annoying. Honestly, I've seem far better maintained rooms in a Motel 6 or Super 8, I expected much better from a hotel of this supposed caliber.
Loved the Complimentary Drinks and Snacks Pillows were outstanding Front Desk and Staff were great. Very Clean My room was quiet and very confortable Internet Connection was lousy. One piece of toast for Breakfast is just UnAmerican
Breakfast. $10 voucher for the in-house restaurant. Rooms & beds were clean and sharp. I booked a Sunday night stay. Apparently they were all-booked for the night before, and after I arrived 30 minutes before normal check in time on Sunday, and they couldn't accommodate me for those 30 minutes and made me wait until the normal check in time.
everything was above and beyond fantastic! incredibly friendly and knowledgeable staff, hip pool with excellent late night vibe, delicious drinks, tasteful decor, all-around cool scene in the heart of phoenix. we'll return whenever we can!
Restaurant was good. Junior suite was spacious. No hot water so cold showers all weekend. Towels were old and not very soft. Combo shower/bath was old/cheap. Blinds wouldn't close completely in living room area so privacy was an issue - especially since you could see through to the bedroom. Overall impression is that they took an old, run down 2 star hotel and tried to updated it with hipster accents. I've seen it done well elsewhere but here they fall short.
Old meets new was fun. Learning more about Don being blown-up in his crappy, small, yellow forgien sports car gave a fun dangerous vibe. Fitness room worked. Loation is great. Covered parking rules. One beat House music is hard to take by the pool trying to read or on the roof watching a beatuful sunset. That music requires the listener to be on lots of really good drugs in a club to be appriciated. However, I dare to say most people thing that music sucks anytime, anywhere while on any drug(s). Clubbing, stockholm syndrome nonsense, sholdn't be forced on everyone in the name of pseudo cool.
I like the amenities that were offered. I would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is Nice and clean. The interior design is modern. The location is perfect if you want to take a stroll around downtown. From the front entrance, you can see the US Airways stadium, the Chase stadium or arena (sorry, not a sports fan) and just a few minutes walk away. Also it about a five to ten minutes walk to Heritage Square. One minus is the room we stayed in had only one chair and a long sofa for seating. Having just one chair made it tough for two of us to enjoy food or coffee in our room. I recommend friends to stay there, but because it's downtown, don't be surprised about how expensive parking can be, $23/night. None
Room was clean and comfortable. Staff was friendly, courteous and professional. Only guests can enter the guest room floors. Our room's thermostat was not working right. Our room at the lowest temperature was freezing but at any higher temperature our room would be way too hot. There was no door on the shower which caused water from the shower to get on the bathroom floor, making it slick and a fall hazard. Our bed had no sheet, just the comforter and a small throw blanket. We had to request a sheet and add it to the bed ourselves. We had a very difficult time getting comfortable enough to sleep.

I liked the location, the décor, and the amenities and perks included with the hotel room stay. Overall, a great hotel. :) I did not like the design of the shower, where it was only partially enclosed with a glass wall, where water could spray out onto the bathroom floor. The mattress was a little hard, and the pillows were a little flat.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Love the location - easy walk to arena and convention center and light rail. Plenty of restaurants, clubs, live music choices nearby as well. While I didn't mind, some may be put off by the need to leave the hotel and cross the plaza to access fitness center and breakfast. Both are well worth the "inconvenience"
Nice place No smoking. $140+ rooms but $27 just to park in garage. And no the hotel doesn't pay for it dicount it or validate parking. This was a bummer.
My room was nicely renovated but bathroom much to small. The shower when in use would soak the bathroom floor. The property is getting tired looking, time for a face lift. I returned after 10 years and was disappointed to find gym still to small, spa uninspiring, exercise studio and bike/tennis area a throw back to 1980. I would return to the front portico each morning from a long run and was never greeted by bell staff or offered bottled water as i stood there recovering from the run and sweating from the desert heat. I have become so accustomed to being greeted by staff with bottled water and towel upon returning from jogging at all great hotels that i really resented having to ask for it. The main lobby is beautiful and I enjoyed evening cocktails on the patio adjacent to the lobby. The bar staff was lovely. Lunch and breakfast in Frank and Albert's was painful to endure. Breakfast was so delayed with mistakes to the order and lunch was mediocre. The cafe also disappointed. One meal at each was one too many. Best meals were all off property. My daughter and I walked thru the shops and found once again we were back in the 80's. We love to shop so it was hard to believe there was almost next to nothing to buy. Housekeeping was a bit lacking of management, it seemed. Dirty dessert dishes lingered in my room for two days. The Scottsdale - Phoenix area has so many fabulous resorts, it's to bad The Biltmore doesn't seem to be one of them anymore.
Nice pool and gym. Great drinks at the hotel bar. Beautiful hotel. They seemed to be incredibly short staffed in terms of housekeeping. On our first night, our room wasn't ready for check-in at 6:30pm -- 2.5 hours after the hotel's check-in time of 4pm. It seemed like it would work out in our favor because we got a room upgrade since our assigned room wasn't ready. But then on our second day our room wasn't cleaned until 4:30pm and on our third day, they didn't clean the room at all -- and we were out of the room from 10am until 9pm! When we called the front desk, they offered to send someone to clean the room, but it took 40 minutes for someone to show up.
Mountain biking and guide (Chip) were excellent. Wright's was outstanding dining all around. Food, service, presentation, ambiance, price. If the entire resort were run like Wrights, this would be a five star resort. Spa services, attendants were great. Megan O. at the front desk was very friendly and helpful. The lobby is beautiful. A Maintanence engineering employee whose name I did not get. The bicycle room service provided a bit of whimsy and were a delight to watch them ride through the resort. The swim up bar is a nice touch, but perhaps should not be immediately next to the kids water slide. Was billed as a five star resort when I booked it. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice place with a lot of history. However, a five star resort implies attention to little details that separate you from other resorts. Those little details were missing. While I understand the main entrance is under renovation, the concrete blocks holding down the umbrellas for the valets looked cheap and haphazard. Not a good first impression. Upon arrival, no one offered to help with my bags, merely pointing me to the direction of the temporary main entrance. At that entrance, there is a small lip in the doorway, making it difficult to maneuver a roller bag. While the front desk did ask if I needed assistance with my bags, no bellhops were around if I did, and given the room location, they should have been more readily available, as my room in the garden wing is on the second floor accessible only by stairs. Upon check-in, I searched for ice (which with a bellhop could have been a non-issue at least for the first day). I could not locate the ice machine, or anything in the in-room literature to direct me. I found a housekeeper and asked her. She did not seem to know either. A maintenance engineering department employee coming out of a guest room overhead the conversation and immediately led me to the nearest ice machine himself. Unfortunately it was broken. Not only that, there was a bus cart full of dirty dishes stowed in front of it. Again, this is the kind of little detail a five-star resort takes care of. The ice machine in the adjacent paradise wing seemed more designed for "back of the house" rather than for a guest to be accessing it. Service at Frank and Albert's was very nonchalant. It did not seem as is they cared if we stayed to eat or not, or enjoyed our meal. Everything seemed to be under construction at once, causing noise throughout the day, from early in the morning until afternoon. When I asked about this, several, employees' response was "well, it's the slow season...." as if I should have lower expectations because it's August. Again, a little detail a five-star resort should nail. Guests should not notice a difference in staff attention regardless of "season." A few other "little details": In the lobby bar, the cords for the TVs and speakers were haphazardly hanging, not neatly along the wall. There was visible water damage on one of the corner speakers. A large cobweb was hanging in the corner and blowing with the AC. There were several areas where grout or paint had dripped onto the pressed concrete blocks from recent renovations but were left there, not removed. The pool desk was open and appeared to be staffed, but was unmanned for five minutes, leading me to walk behind the desk to help myself to clean towels as no one was around. Ultimately, we cut our stay a day short and moved to a different area five star resort, where we did not experience any negative issues.
Truly beautiful hotel. Beautiful grounds. Upgraded us to a private cottage room free of charge. Would love to stay here again soon.
Many luxury features. Service very good and happy hour nice. Hot tub not warm, bed sagged in middle, no robes, landscapers started gas power hedge trimmers at 8:35am for 45 minutes in courtyard next to room.

We celebrated our anniversary and were upgraded to a beautiful suite, and the front desk staff sent a beverage, chocolates and fruit to our room when they learned. Loved the room, the grounds are amazing and enjoyed the amazing amenities. We're planning to return every year.
