Dar Ben-Gacem - Tunis - Building
1
9.2 Excellent (216 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Dar Ben-Gacem, you'll be centrally located in Tunis, within a 5-minute drive of Habib Bourguiba Avenue and Carrefour Market. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and multilingual staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Markets, restaurants and touristic area nearby, but it's not too close so it's quiet. Great fresh breakfast. Nice, friendly and very helpful staff. They are passionate to share their recommendations. Pick-up at the airport was perfect, despite it was crazy hour of 3am... Next time, I'd like to order dinner in-house!
Cons: Might not suited for the people who are used to staying at the hotels and expect everything new and clean. If you are after rustic charm, you will get it. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked everything about this charming hotel. The location is superb. The staff were remarkable and went above and beyond our expectations to make our stay perfect. They offered to make a reservation for dinner for us and when we were ready to leave to go to dinner, they insisted on having one of the staff walk us through the Medina to the restaurant so that we would be able to find it easily. I was very impressed with the service. The restoration of the hotel has been skillfully and beautifully done. It was decorated with a wide variety of interesting antiques that gave a warm and welcoming feel. Our room was very spacious and lovely. The rooftop terrace would be a comfortable and private place to relax and good weather. The breakfast was ample and the coffee, bless them, was piping hot! That’s a rare accomplishment in Tunisia! Even the milk was very hot. I can’t say enough good things about the charm, location and service in this hotel. What a great value and a wonderful experience
Cons: It’s a minor point, but it would’ve been nice to have a television in the room
6.3 Good
Pros: A lovely Medina property, renovated a little ago with great taste. Some staff very friendly and efficient
Cons: The renovation now feels a bit tired and grubby. The hotel lacks the detailed management attention it needs to sustain its reputation. The wifi was practically non existent throughout my visit. Guests were locked out one day with no one on the premises to open the door (at about 6.00pm). The bathroom was dirty. There were dead plants in the courtyard. The airconditioning struggled (but it was a hot period). On the whole, the breakfasts were very good but on the first day rotten fruit was offered. These issues were raised with staff but there was no management presence.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff who speak English and have lots of good recommendations. Room was beautiful although in need of a bit of a refresh. Everything worked and was comfortable.
Cons: I think the breakfast was a bit disappointing.
10.0 Excellent

9.5 Excellent
Pros: We really loved everything. It’s a very charming boutique hotel with a lot of attention to details. Many places to relax, great view from the roof and a beautiful room, friendly staff, great location.
Cons: The breakfast could be slightly more variety; the tour described on their website doesn’t really exist as such.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location with warm and friendly staff and immaculate old building in the heart of the Medina.
Cons: Because of the thickness of the walls internet is a problem. But that means you get out in the amazing public courtyard or rooftop and mingle with people. It’s lovely.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was beautiful. In the room you felt like in a small Tunisian Palace. Breakfast was delicious. Everyone there was so nice and took very good care of us.
Cons: The shower could have more water pressure. Everything else great.

Cons: Overpriced services
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had the chance to visit many 5 stars hotel for work or during stays abroad but The Residence is one of my favourites. El Patio Courtyard House - Tunis - Building

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is a 3 room guest house. Owners will take care of you starting from the airport. If you are here in Tunis as a tourist you should definitely stay in one of these houses. It is beautifully furnished with antique furniture. Delicious breakfast is served fresh at the time you wish.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: hossam was very helpful , professional , he has hand maps to follow if you want to reach famous places around . besides that he helped me to buy some essential stuff there . thank you hossam
Cons: the checkout timing is 11 am
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely decor in keeping with traditional Tunisian courtyard design. Beautifully done
Cons: The staff felt absent- missed that personal human touch and welcoming. The shower would flood the rest of the bathroom floor
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly service, location and food
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Heritage hotel Location in old town Comfortable and clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, friendly owners (even invited us for dinner with their family!!) large bathroom.
Cons: If you don’t leave your room key in the door , they don’t clean your room (there was a lack of communication about this).
7.5 Good
Pros: - room and house looked exactly as nice as on the pictures - breakfast lovely served - staff was open for any help and concerns, very friendly - rooms, bedsheets and towels were very clean
Cons: The major shocking problem for us was really where the courtyard house is located. It’s really in a maze of the Medina which isn’t also the safest place for tourists to walk around. Especially at night we had a hard time getting back, ways of the Souk were closed at night and we had to ask for the right way at every corner (since GPS isn’t working well) where the locals even told us to be careful and hide our stuff cause it’s not safe... that was a pretty shocking experience. Therefore, I wouldn’t recommend to stay if you’re traveling only with girls/ women. BUT if you’re really worried and don’t want to get lost in the Medina in the middle of the night again as we did the staff is looking forward to help you and guide you through.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house itself is a piece of artwork. As my friend and I were the only two guests at the house, our host kindly gave us a full tour of the house and showed us all five rooms. Each corner of the house is thoughtfully and beautifully designed. Breakfast is different every morning, and nicely presented. At night, we sat on the roof and watched the moon and stars. Although Djerba has a lot to offer, we didn't want to leave the house because it was so beautiful. Our host also was very helpful in recommending restaurants and telling us about the local street art culture. I believe I will return to Djerba and bring more family and friends to Dar Bibine. It is very rare to stay at a place where everything is perfect.
La Villa Bleue - Sidi Bou Said - Building
4
9.0 Excellent (310 reviews)
Overview Reviews

Featured amenities include express check-in, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything is tastefully and artistically done, and impeccably clean. The view is fantastic! The staff is very polite and keeps things beautiful. They are quick to respond to any request. I LOVE the fragrance they have in the entrance foyer! Whatever it is, I wish I could buy it. Honestly, I am so spoiled now, I couldn't stay anywhere else in Sidi Bou Said. Nothing could compare.
Cons: The taxi drivers wouldn't drive to the hotel, they made me walk up the steep hill with my bags from the main crossroads. But that is not the hotel's fault. Just lazy taxi drivers.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Extremely friendly staff
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Everything was absolutely stupendous!
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Nothing almost prefect
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Stunning location, great view and friendly staff!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nothing at all
Cons: The breathtaking views
8.8 Excellent
Cons: The hotel needs a bar
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food is amazing. The spa is really really good. The bed is so comfortable. The view from the terrace at breakfast is stunning.
Cons: The toilet burst during the penultimate day and it was still not fixed by the time we checked out the following day.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, beautiful views outside and beautiful architecture inside - simple and elegant. Amazing staff, very helpful and always smiling. Very good internet. Amazing rose smell in the reception with fresh flowers and a fountain. Breakfast prepared outside with a sea view.
Cons: Very basic continental breakfast, extra payment for scrambled eggs/omlette/fruits. For this price such breakfast options should be included.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is phenomenal. How wonderful to have breakfast overlooking the bay in such a classic place. Super quiet.
Cons: The beds are a little too soft and the rooms are actually quite small. There are very few selections for vegetarians in the restaurant
Dar El-Màa - Tunis - Bedroom
5
9.0 Excellent (119 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Le Kram, Dar El-Màa,maison d’hôtes sur la plage is by the sea, a 4-minute drive from St. Louis Cathedral and 12 minutes from French Embassy. Featured amenities include multilingual staff, a library, and microwave in a common area. Limited parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The house was very nice and clean, working AC and quiet at night. At the balcony one can enjoy the view of the beach. Breakfast wad always waitung for us with croissants, yogurt, fruits and beverages. Friendly staff!
Cons: The location is great to have a sense of local culture and to go to the beach every single day. Only there are not many restaurants or shopping places around. One has to go to the main street to get a taxi. Wifi worked on and off.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in suite (as I understand only room with private bathroom) and it was really great. Plenty of space, furniture, spectacular looks, (shared) terrace. Location is great, direct train to Tunis centre (or La Marsa) is 200 m away. Public beach is sort-of maintained, busy with locals, but OK. Woman can use it in "european" swimming suit. There are lot of shops, fast foods around, but don't expect to buy beer there (christophe got two for me :-) .
Cons: Advertised WiFi is not usable in room. Yo have to move to common kitchen to use it. AC is very noisy and can't be used at night. Breakfast is really basic (bread+jam+butter+croissant). Suite is expensive. For 120 EUR/night you can get AI at 4* hotel in Hammamet, but that's price if you need to stay in Tunis at that level. Surroundings are definitly not at house's level. My wife was really not enjoying walking there at night.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place close to the sea. Comfortable room. The maison has a nice garden and a cosy pool. Perfect location during the spring/summer season.
Cons: Nice breakfast but bit simple. Toilet outside the room
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: Booked a sea view room, on arrival tried to put me in a side room, if wanted the sea view would have to pay extra. The location with beach is poor and occasionally noisy, breakfast minimum, no housekeeping services. It was not worth £50 pn
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wifi, cosy guesthouse, Nice staff
Cons: Location, not very good beach
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly kind family. Beautiful place.
Cons: neighbourhood is noisy and beach is always crowded n not so clean
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location and property itself are amazing. Right on the beach, and a short walk to the main road or to the light rail stop, so it's easy to get to the sights in Carthage and to Sidi Bou Said. Facilities were nice, there was a communal kitchen to use. Pool and garden were nice as well. Breakfast was good.
Cons: Check-in/arrival time seemed more flexible than it is, and the doorbell doesn't seem to work very well. The wifi didn't work well while we were there, but it appears we were subjected to unlucky timing more than any fault of the owner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is beautifully decorated, the water is boiling hot, the bed is amazing, the sound of the waves as an alarm in the morning is magical, the view outside the seafaced room is just wow!
Cons: Nothing, plus i just dont understand some of the complaining guests and negative reviews written before. I think some people can always find something to complain about, its a pity for themselves :).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Christophe and Ayette are running a beautiful Bed & Breakfast, they are so kind and helpful that we felt welcomed and like home from the moment we booked (our Email contact was excellent and friendly as well). We enjoyed our room as much as the breakfast, the sea view and the pool. The beach or the train station are only a 4min walk away. We enjoyed our stay very much, thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved staying at Dar El Maa. It's beautifully designed, located right on the beach and with easy access to both downtown Tunis and Sidi Bousaid/ La Marsa, its owners are welcoming and easy-going, the pool is awesome, and there's even a very cute and quiet dog.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Felt like home. They were really kind and helpful. Breakfast was very good. Breathtaking views from the room and from the terrace! About location, close to ancient monuments and Sidi Bou Said. 100% Recommendable!
Cons: Nothing.

4.3 Okay
Pros: Best in tunis. However, comparing to other four seasons around the world, it was my worst experience
Cons: Staff need some training, food is below expectation.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Summaya Hammami, Omar, Lotfi and the other amazing stuff
Cons: Nothing
7.0 Good
Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Service Location
9.3 Excellent
Pros: A great spa with a huge indoor beautiful pool and fantastic gym. Staff was very responsive and dealt with all requests quickly and efficiently.
Cons: This is a very substantial property spread out over a large area. A number of the rooms are centred around internal courtyards and getting lost on the way back to the room was a common occurrence! There were a few issues with the room but these were dealt with immediately by a very attentive staff. Quite pricey room rates especially when considering that breakfast was at an additional charge.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The swimming pool was nice.
Cons: The room was not the one requested and paid. No sea view at all, just a wall. The beach too far and not ideal neither. Staff in restaurant and bar confussed and take long every thing to be taken into account. Things needed to asked 3/4 times and still many things were not done. Bad service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: The garden is still need more work
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice
Cons: The price free high
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent facilities Incredible staff I ll come back next time
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel design is bomb! Attention to detail in all complimentary services, such as hairdryier, shampoos, sleepers, etc. Very nice and attentive staff. Quality food in the hotel restaurants and good room service. The views are simply amazing! recommended to book a room with sea view. Very spacious and clean rooms. Good size closets, comfy beds. Impresive bathroom with shower and bath. Hotel exceeded expectations. I would come back! Location is also great. Right by the beach.
Cons: The only "bad" thing to take into account is that if you go during the Ramadan month, the hotel restaurants are all closed and they only offer buffet dinning at one of the restaurants (the only one open). The buffet is really good and quality food, but if you are not a huge eater, it´s not worth the high price. They should inform guests about the Ramandan month (and less services offered) when you book the room, so you know in advance what to expect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed at some great hotels in my life but i must admit this has been by far the best experience! eveyone s so curteous, polite and happy.. always smiling. The front desk staff is exceptional, I checked in at 7 am on May 2nd, i don't remember who was there but i think it was Omar, i was with my mom and son and they were well taken care of. room service staff Rabia and Hamza were GREAT!! i don't know who trained these people on customer service but its beyond my expectations!! They were just wonderful! The hotel is spotlessly clean, the flowers are gorgeous, the spa, the indoor pool every thing in that place is just wonderful... I would definately stay there again! JUST GREAT

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Carmela! She went out of her way to make me feel welcomed and was a font of information. She is also reasonably close to the airpor, especially if there is no traffic contesting the road. I particularly enjoyed the “Brekkie in bed” at such an early hour (05:45) due to my flight time.
Cons: Location was a challenge for my cabbie. The essential key is to have phone connection for precise instructions, and to turn at the big orange box onto the dead-end road!
6.0 Good
Pros: Do not expect a 5 stars hotel. But mss. owner makes it right. Good price/quality. Take a taxi, its for free.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostess stayed up to receive me when my flight came in late and guide my taxi driver by phone when he was lost. It helped a lot that she spoke English.

Pros: The lady was nice and welcoming. Not far from the main road and easily managed to get a taxi at 6:00am in Sunday. Carrefour express was few minutes walking distance and there was a passteri just next to it.
Cons: Room was little small. Unfortunately the internet didn't work but to be fair I haven't informed the renter. I haven't checked the area well, but initial impression is rural.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: it is immediately evident once you walk through the outer doors that you have entered a little oasis in the heart of Tunis. Carthage Hill offers you a guest house with its own large spacious gardens where you can sit and relax after a day at work or on your day off. The choice of television channels in multiple languages far exceeds that being offered by the larger 4-5 star hotels.
Cons: Internet needs to be boosted a little.... but then this is a general problem in Tunis.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing place with a great location and wonderful host. I highly recommend it
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The property is beautifully landscaped, making for a relaxing stay. We stayed in an atmospheric cabin that was converted from a shed. It was very clean and comfortable and the air conditioner worked well. Plus, there is a beautiful main building that is also at your disposal. Breakfast was excellent with homemade jams, fresh croissants, and cooked to order eggs. The owner, Leila, is a very energetic host who takes pride in offering you a home away from home. She helped us arrange transportation to and from the airport.
Cons: WiFi didn’t quite reach the cabin, but that seemed to be due to a recent storm, and the owner was working on it.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel and rooms, friendly staff, good food
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an exotic place with an amazing decoration, open space with all kind of amenities that has a nice view on the garden, ha true eaven

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff lovely. Comfort top marks.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Saif and Dillon, the guys who run Villa Carthage, were absolutely fantastic. They always went out of their way to be helpful to us. The 3 bedroom apartment was perfect for us as a family. The decor is fun. It was spacious and comfortable. Villa Carthage was close enough to all the nearby sights, and the pool is great for cooling off. There is an enormous Carrefour nearby if you’re self-catering. I do think you need a car, though. And bear in mind that the apartment is in the building just behind the hotel. Overall, it was a great choice.
Cons: Although the kitchen is very well equipped with appliances, it did seem as though it is not used very much by guests, as there were not many utensils. When we asked for them, this was quickly remedied, although we were still short a few things. I think that the hotel should consider equipping the apartment kitchen better for guests, as those of us with younger children find it easier to self-cater in the evenings. It would be so easy to do. The other thing that should be considered is perhaps a slightly better choice of bedding. Everything else is great, and meets a certain standard, and to upgrade the apartment linen (down duvets, slightly higher thread count) would be a small but significant difference. The bedding is good - it just could be a little better.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and helpful, quiet, air conditioning
Cons: No wifi in rooms
8.8 Excellent
Pros: liked everything, will be priority to stay next time again here

Pros: Location on the corniche was beautiful--quick access to transit into Sidi Bou Said, Carthage and Tunis. Our room had a nice beach view that made the mornings special for quiet coffee and contemplation. Outstanding staff were helpful and friendly.
Cons: When hosting a conference, the hotel's smart-but-small gathering spaces can be easily overwhelmed by just a few people. The staff accommodate for this well, but it's something to keep in mind.

Pros: Dar Traki is a wonderful guesthouse tucked away in a quiet corner of the medina of Tunis. The house is incredibly beautiful, with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms, a lovely courtyard and an amazing rooftop terrace. The best thing about this guesthouse is the lovely staff: Roland and Didier were so kind, hospitable and helpful - they made our stay perfect. Breakfast is delicious and it is definitely prepared with love. We felt very safe and happy in Dar Traki - we will definitely stay here again if we return to Tunis!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Such lovely two brothers who took care of our every need; with fantastic crepes every morning for breakfast, and a wonderful location.
Cons: You have to pay the property with cash when you arrive (no credit card machine or EFT facilities). While they were very accommodating on receiving part-payment every day, this makes it hard to pay for business travellers.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very friendly, they helped us with all the questions we had. The hotel itself is set in a beautiful traditional house, which make you feel you are far away from the city. The rooms are spacious and have comfortable beds.
Cons: At night it was not always pleasant to walk through the dark alleys of the Medina. However, the main road is really near.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were extraordinary helpful. Went way beyond the call of duty to assist with minor crises.
Cons: Room fans. Mosquito coils or repellent.
7.0 Good
Pros: Charming little guest house, great spot in the medina, and great bang for buck if you're looking for a good deal and don't care about luxury accommodations. Beds are comfortable and staff are lovely and super helpful.
Cons: The place is generally run down, could use an overall makeover (the furniture looks like it's been sitting in someone's grandmother's attic) and a few simple amenities, i.e., more electrical outlets, light switches that work and better lighting in the rooms, better quality matching towels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful and kind. The hotel was in a perfect location and was a beautiful property.
Cons: Hotel was hard to find. A sign on the main street would be helpful.
10.0 Excellent

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely beautiful hotel right in the centre of the Medina with excellent and courteous staff. The hamman experience was so relaxing with a lovely masseuse. We also really enjoyed the breakfast, which was probably one of the best ones we had throughout our time in Tunisia. Although tucked away in the alleys of the Medina, it was worthwhile finding the beauty of the hotel comparable to exploring the Bardo Museum. Strong wifi access throughout. Highly, highly recommend!!
Cons: A little tricky to find, but there is fairly good signage to guide you.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an old mansion converted into a hotel so its different from normal hotel buildings. This is the charm of this facility. You get transported back in time and get to relive the high life of those days. I really enjoyed my stay here.
Cons: Can't really think of anything that I didn't like from facilities, staff or the location perspective. For the sake of nitpicking, the pillows were a bit hard for my taste and the credit card machine didn't accept any of my cards at checkout which created some embarrassment for me but I have sufficient USD to cover the payment.
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked the location and the beautiful building.
Cons: The price is very expensive. Besides, when I went to pay upon check out, I was informed that they don’t take cards!!! Basically I had to withdraw cash from the atm (which has a maximum withdrawal limit per each transaction). So I had to do three different withdrawals from the atm (which charged me a lot of money because it’s an international withdrawal). This happened simply because the hotel couldn’t be bothered to fix their card machine. So how about the amount of money that I lost doing those transactions? Tough. No apology from the hotel, no compensation, no discount, nothing at all.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Its a palace! Great for experiencing something different. 5 minute walk from tunis main mosque and markets. Hotel very helpful with excursions.
7.5 Good
Pros: I did not eat breakfast because it was way too expensive. I once eat a salade and a couscous at the very beautiful restaurant and it was extremely good. I know every trick of the arab cuisine but had never tasted anything like this. But please dont eat there until you really have too much money. We payed 28 dinars for a starter (a salad) and in halk al wadi (La Goulette) we payed 48 dinars for 5 persons (soup, salad, fish, sidedishes, beverages). The tea and the cafe and even the citronade (a freshly made lemonade of lemon juce, suger and water - taste it!) were not so good. Its better to drink them around the corner at the souk (the market) or just getting out of the medina (the old town), two steps from the hotel!
Cons: I was shocked and very angry to hear the women at the reception tell a client he cant find any taxi in Tunis and has to take a driver from the hotel for 100 dinars. We took several taxis a day, its just the common way of transport. We never payed more than 15 dinars (ok, once we payed like 30, but the driver was driving us from out of the town to the medina, back to the outskirts, then across the town to halk al wadi and then more or less to Berger des Lacs; lets say it was a private driver for half a day and we were a lot of people). Never ever accept to pay more than what is shown in the machine! If they tell you it does not work, take another taxi or take it anyway but dont pay! You can always take a taxi and ask to stop near a police station or any police - they will help you not to pay too much. Sorry to say that, but what the woman in the hotel told a client of the hotel was awful, completely wrong and just bad!
7.5 Good
Pros: Great location, helpful and friendly staff
Cons: There was zero privacy in the room (bathroom didn’t have a door, rather a curtain). Nice for couples, not friends).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful historic place. Very peaceful. With private hammam. Personel was cery kind and helpful. Breakfast were very big and tasty (not buffet).
Cons: Major issue if you stay for relax: no public space to chill out. I saw 2 beautiful courtyards and both lacked even a single place to sit. So if you want to stay and relax, it must be your room. Dinner price advertised/promised at booking com is in fact higher. Massage in hammam is not worth taking - very delicate and your muscles are not really worked on.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect Location!! Perfect SERVICE !!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and real nice folks
Cons: Not a proper standup shower in my room
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. The Palace is very beautiful.
Cons: The rooms were lovely but as we were travelling with a toddler, they were a bit uncomfortable, meaning there were many hazards for a toddler. Also going around the hotel with a pram was very difficult as no lift or ramp to push the pram around. Not suitable for families with young children or wheelchair users. I understand this is due to the fact that it's an historical building, but I think they should invest in some wheelchair friendly facilities. I wouldn't have noticed these things before having a child, but now it is very important for us, so maybe next time I will be choosing more carefully. Other than that, we really enjoyed the hotel and the food was amazing too.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is amazing! They are very helpfull and give you great tips for your travels. The place is very beautiful with Tunisian decors and there’s an amazing breakfast in the morning.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff were great.
Cons: Common bathrooms don’t allow for privacy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The room I had was GORGEOUS and HUGE. I had a hand-carved arch above the couch and hand-painted tiles all around the beds. The most unique and beautiful sleeping arrangement I've had. My friend got slightly less lucky as hers was plainer but both rooms were clean and in good order.
Cons: I would have loved to have had non-instant coffee in the morning but the older couple that served breakfast were so sweet that and friendly that I wasn't THAT bothered by it. What did suck was that the little rooms where the toilets were located were so small that I could only sit down with my knees raised. I'm tall though, so that's not a problem most will run into.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were a family of 4 and initially wanted to stay for 1 night and ended up extending another 2 nights. Very welcoming atmosphere, nicely decorated rooms and super polite and friendly staff. Shout out to Yusef the receptionist for his sense of humour and his friendliness!
Cons: We encountered a few friendly but frightening cockroaches lol.
7.5 Good
Pros: The beds need to cleaned or renewed.
7.5 Good
Pros: it is locatted in the narrow streets of medina and a bit far from the heart, 10 min walk. cleanness, staff were good. price was ok for the supply.
Cons: a bir far from heart. my room didnt have air conditioner but only a fan, so it was not an extremely comfort sleep.
5.8 Okay
Pros: nice decoration.
Cons: our room (suite) was noisy. Next to kitchen (thin walls), so preparation for breakfast wake us up. Maybe 2nd loor rooms are better. Breakfast is not too good. In Moroccan riads it is great thing, here not.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, reception recommended me to try great local dish in small resto. Located in the center of medina, beautiful building with clean rooms and shared bathrooms.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I HIGHLY recommend Dar Ya for anyone traveling to Tunis. The staff was very helpful and nice, offering extra delicious peaches after each breakfast and chatting regularly. If you would like to experience true Tunisian hospitability, I think you are at the right address. You can easily reach the city center with a less than 10 minutes walk, passing through the historical center Medina, the breakfast food is very nice, the bathrooms were clean and smelling fresh all the time and the inside decoration of the hotel and the rooms was truly authentic. They also offer shuttles to and from the airport for 10 euros. Five stars!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: architecture location
Cons: No towels.
