The cute little suite with circular staircase was darling, but would have been difficult for a person with any kind of physical disability and too narrow to navigate for anyone above average weight. Great views!
Staff was very nice. The restaraunt was the best food in the area and reasonable prices. I paid for two rooms online, and ended up paying for them again at check out. This made the cost of the room double. I could not straighten out the confusion due to language constraints. You need to know some Spanish to stay in this area. Also, getting to the hotel is difficult if you do not have a car. It is not in Alora. It is in El Chorro. Fantastic views, but remote.
Location and beautiful view of El Chorro from the window.
the design of the hotel was very attractive. pool and views excellent. area of el chorro fascinating standard rooms are much too small , cramped and beds extremely uncomfortable
The view and the comfortable bed. Not keen on the spiral staircase and no extra pillows in the room.
The staff was very helpful, the location stunning and the room spacious, modern and comfortable We did not like the food at the restaurant
walking tours and seightseeing in Alora
The room was well presented and had been recently refurbished
The friendliness of staff, the quality of meals, the ambience....... The shower was so powerful that the showerhead flew off, crashing into the bath. We discovered afterwards that there should have been one free day if we booked for two days. (We had booked for 3!) This was in the periodical The Olive Press.
Nice and quiet location Room too simple, food in restaurant poor. Decoration of hotel kitch. Staf speeks only Spanish. Poor price/performance
The beautiful setting of the restaurant by the swimming pool.
Good location; super views of the mountains; friendly helpful staff; comfy beds. Room was dark and gloomy. Major works in grounds, trans-planting mature trees for new garden area, also concrete mixers.
Nice location No food in morning un able to make tea or coffee in room no hair dryer
It was a nice hotel, comfortable and friendly. Convenient for a stopover to or from Malaga airport. No
It was close to where our daughter lives and not many other hotels available in the area. Due to the location of the Hotel (campo) the staff did not speak english although they were friendly. The room was sparse and a bit noisy.
traditional Spanish hotel, lovely views but mainly a wedding venue. ideal for a stopover on enroute elsewhere and a refreshing change from large impersonal chains bed was too small and uncomfortable
Great views of the mountains. Our room booking was upgraded to a suite which was very well appointed, comfortable and clean. The food was excellent. Overall very good value for money. The road to the hotel is not recommended for nervous travellers
Was only there one night, but long enough to appreciate the spectacular view and delicious dinner. The long road to it,but the view made up for it.
The wievs over the mountians, the silence, the fresh air, the surrounding nature, the friendly english speaking staff I prefer breakfast earlier than 9 o'clock, lets say 8 in the morning
Impressive location. Helpful staff. Good food. Smokey fire. (And unseasonal weather!)
the countryside and views were fantastic,we drove 60kms offroad without seeing another person.stunning terrain but obviously need a 4x4. booked because of the hotels rep for top food as it was my fiances 40th birthday albeit the chef was on holiday to which we were completely unaware. very very limited alternate restaurants
It was a real surprise. The owner and staff excellent and very helpful. The food was very good. It is isolated but a good get-away location.
relaxing lounge area with log fires burning, no television!!
Staff were excellent and friendly. Good, smallish pool. High standards of hygiene. Beautiful scenery and views. Comfortable surroundings and atmosphere. Prices of food and drink were on the high side.
The chef and resturant are excellent. Many of the rooms have excellent views. The rural location.
Beautiful views, very quietly situated, large comfortable rooms, professional friendly staff and good restaurant. good value.
Clean, bright, friendly. Good restaurant on site. Nothing we didn't like. Would stay there again.
The size and quality of the room and the situation of the hotel The evening meal on half board was very poor
The rooms were very large and comfortable and the staff extremely friendly
Clean comfortable room, nice environment. Food was high standard in restaurant. Reception staff were more than helpful! The room service often took too long, food was cold, or delivered to incorrect room, or not at all. I will put yes to recommendation but would comment on downside too. Minor point - Would have liked dressing gowns, the others in area usually have and it saves packing them
Superb hotel close to a wonderful golf course designed by Seve Ballesteros.Just 15km to the beach in the mountains.
silence and location poor restaurant service and low quality food
very spacious room with excellent facilities Be care full in finding the hotel. It is located in a very isolated area and make good planning to find the hotel especially if someone is arriving in late evening hours.
The friendly staff and the room furnishings
The buffet breakfast was very good with a wide choice of hot and cold food. Unfortunately there are extensive roadworks being carried out for many miles on the approach to the hotel which caused everywhere to be a dust bath. There is no chance that these works will be completed any time soon.
