Cons: This is a lorry drivers' haven. Very basic rooms and a little bit of an echo. There's nothing here apart from a smoky greasy spoon opposite; you have to walk down the road to the left of the hotel entrance - about 300 metres - to find anything apart from this to eat. I had an ensalada mixta - tuna salad.
Set in beautiful countryside, outside the town of Muskiz, this hotel is 5 kms from Arena Beach. The rustic Hotel Muskiz offers rooms with satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. Just a 20-minute drive from Bilbao, Muskiz Hotel is on the border between the Basque Country and Cantabria. There is easy access from the A-8 Motorway and free parking is available on-site. Rooms at the Muskiz have heating and are decorated in traditional style. The private bathrooms are equipped with a bath and hairdryer. The hotel has a coffee bar. There is a restaurant 165 feet from the hotel.
Cons: The smoke that filled our room, the light from the hotel sign was right outside our window and too bright even with the curtains closed, the room was dirty, and the bed had springs that were coming out of the mattress.
Pros: Very welcoming and eager to please. An enjoyable experience.
Cons: Poor map to find hotel.
Pros: The breakfast was relatively good
Cons: We felt this accomodation was very overpriced for what it offered. Its location is poor - situated in the middle of a housing estate. The room was adequate but small. The ensuite bathroom was very small. The owner was unable to get the TV in the bedroom working!. We stayed in far nicer accomodation along the coast for less money. We would not recommend this as a place to stay.
Pros: The people that attended me and their kindness, the fact of the hotel is in the meadle of a quiet neighberhood of Castro Urdiales with easy access to the center of that amaising town/beach/resort and also the place it selt.
Cons: The wood floors can be noisy, but acceptable. In really hot days (like the ones I stayed there), an air condiciont could be appropriate or even necessary. But these where extreme conditions... Otherwise, no complains.
