Location, value for money, facilities, outside bar /lunch restaurant Breakfast had little or no variation, very bad coffee
Loved the view from the hotel, and the "cave opening" access to the beach. Shuttle service to the city was a plus, would definitely recommend using it as finding parking in the city center is a disaster. disappointed with the closure of bar by the beach due to weather conditions...
View the hotel
We thought the hotel location was excellent with the view of the Straits of Messina and and Ionian Sea. The way the beach and pool areas are set into the cliff is really pretty amazing The AC did not always cool through the night. The staff at the beach only wasn't too friendly
Beautiful location. Rooms are a little dated, but clean. The restaurant is soso. Much better restaurants in town. Very nice gym. Overall a nice hotel.
Housekeeping staff wonderful Too much walking up and down as I said above, Not enough hand rails, dangerous for children, and people having to navagate walking to the pool and beach, Not enough shops in the hotel only 2.
view at bay and Mount Etna, hotel-bus line to centre of Taormina
The hotel itself is large but beautiful It's isolated and the few shuttles offered are overbooked. The taxi alternative is very expensive. Finally free parking is very tight and always packed.
Its location and view. Breakfast was the best we had from the 8 hotels we stayed in.
The magnificent view. The pool and the beach are just breathtaking. The food does not correspond to the standard of the hotel. Everything appart from the breakfast was a disappointment.
Don't be fooled by the 4 stars tag. You really feel like a Movie Star when you'll have breakfast or visit the pool and the beach bar / restaurant. Best hotel I've ever seen to be honest. Beautiful location, excellent staff, a few minuses but it doesn't matter. I'd say visit the hotel if off-season (> 15 sept) and you'll have the w-end of your dreams :) Ask for sea view! Breakfast - it's a question of taste, that's for sure, but I didn't like it. Others might love it, I guess. If you're a normal person, who wants to save a few bucks when possible, don't touch the restaurant. Not prohibitive for sure, but it matches the "luxury" tag of the hotel. You can eat in Naxos or Taormina for example, while also visiting the place.
Staff very helpfull, facility veru nice. Food good.
the structure of the hotel is good , the staff not particularly friendly as a 4 stars would be. The room was not cleaned properly for the 5 nights we stayed, The barmen was recycling the beer, the restaurant was very poor buffet style.
It was within easy reach of taormina, mount etna and all the other places we wanted to visit..The hotel room overlooked Mount Etna which when dark we could see the volcano spitting lava from the side. Very exciting No nothing at all..for us it was perfect
very nice hotel, nice spacious lobby and surroundings, hotel bus service a great help, parking excellent.
We spend lots of time, reading reviews on Taormina's and Naxos's hotels - wanted to choose the best value for money staying in a really comfort hotel. Ceaser was the right choice. Very nice rooms, very nice stuff! Everything is new and clean. We stayed bb, so, have no idea, what kind of lunchs and diners they serv (there are so many nice cafes in Naxos, that we just had no possibility to taste the hotel's restaurant), but breakfast was more or less ok. As far as we understood from the reviews on other sicilian hotels, poor breakfast is quite a common problem on the island (in some 4* hotels no hot dishes for b at all - only musly, cheese and ham), so in Ceasar we have such hot stuff like bacon, sausages, boild eggs and scramble eggs. Very nice choice of coffe for breakfas was also a nice surprise))) The very few minuses of the hotel: a) location (and it's the main reason why so nice hotel costs so unexpensive) - 1,5 km to beach/center of Naxos - they have a free shuttle bus, but we prefered to walk - quite nice way; b) - no vegetables for Breakfast.
very good hotel, well situated, good standard, nice rooms and good swimmingpool Breakfast was oke but variantion of breadproducts could be better
Large and clean rooms, consistent breakfast, lots of trees around the hotel No wireless internet in the hotel, no possibility to connect my own laptop; there are only two computers in the lobby with paid internet access
nice clean room, big enough personnel hasn't invented the art of smiling, really no personnel member will ever smile to you.
i like the pool and the view from our appartment
The staff were very friendly. The hotel is comfortable though a bit out of the way but we loved the spacious public areas and the food served in the restaurant was really good.
Chic hotel with very friendly staff ( something that Italian/Scilian hotel staff are not noted for ) Nothing was too much trouble, not only for us but for all guests some of which were very demanding.
Beautiful, tastefully appointed hotel. Ultra modern accommodations in a Sicillian village that blossoms with antiquity. The restaurant is fine, but visitors are in the center of a town where one cannot find a bad meal; only, as Rick Steves phrases it, better.
Everything We called the hotel for directions from the road. Had they told us that they were the only modern looking hotel on the mountain , right after you pass through the main square and that it had a glass front on the right not the left we would have saved over an hour trying to find the place.
Well-designed boutique hotel, friendly and helpful staff. Restaurant is an undiscovered jewel. Self-parking facility is non-existent at the hotel. Parking in the garage is expensive.
The staff were very helpful and friendly The food was very expensive. "Ceasar's Salad" comprising Lettuce ,sauce and a few croutons was €17.A very high standard of food was available in any of the restaurants locally for half the price. The Hotel lacked athmosphere as there were only a handful of people staying there the week we were there.
Superb hotel overall .Great location .Spotlessly clean. Very friendly and helpful staff, Great breakfast freshly cooked to your requirements.. Size of the balconies.
Very comfortable, delightful staff, close to shops and sights. I am returning for a night at the end of the month. I liked everything
The hotel is brand new. Rooms are clean and comfortable. The staff is really helpful. If one arrives by car, it is advisable to book a parking place in advance.
Very modern and stylish hotel, nice location, in walking distance to pedestrian zone Very small rooms
The views were breathtaking and the staff were lovely. Couldnt do enough. Bedrooms a little dated Could upgrade the rooms in keeping with the stunning location
The most beautiful view ever, poolside fabulous, great service, and helpful staff. Walking distance to sites and shopping. Hope to return. Request ocean view and terrace. Great food (breakfast and lunch til 4 pm poolside). Parking available and assisted by staff.
Very comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. Staff were friendly and helpful. Wonderful views and fabulous gardens. Good location 5 mins walk to town centre.
Great hotel with beautiful landscaping and pool setting. Staff were very friendly and effiicient and took care of the parking for us. Wonderful breakfast...one of the best on our 3 week trip thru out Sicily. Booked the standard room but would highly recommend upgrading to one with a terrace and balcony (worth the extra euros). I loved this hotel!!! Standard room a little dated compared to the rest of the hotel which was marvelous.
Great staff, relaxing pool, area lovely breakfast & dining area easy walk to the centre None
Staff is excellent and could not be more helpfull and patient, location perfect just minutes away from via Umberto, food good but I had better. Pool area is not good for children pool too deep and too quite.
The service was excellent and breakfast very good. The restaurants are excellent but on the expensive side. Sell the house before eating by the pool. The cost of extras is very high, the rooms and general decor very tired with cheap rather nasty furniture in the rooms, the pool is right on an exit route out of town so is noisy. Good hotel that's seen its best years.
Wonderful hotel in a very historic building that they have preserved extremely well. The location in Taormina is ideal, and the views are fantastic. Lovely garden. The staff are extremely attentive --especially for Sicily where staff training is often so-so. The restaurant, Principe Cerami, is well worth the price and deserves its Michelin rating. Breakfast, the lunch restaurant, and the bar are all very high quality. They will park your car for you and bring it when you need it. This is very useful in Taormina where parking is otherwise difficult.
excelent hotel with amazing sea veiws & gardens in Toarmino
the perfect hospitality; delightful staff; great pool ; very beautiful surroundings and understated elegance. no
Perfectly sited for getting into Taormina with stunning views of Etna from a gorgeously positioned garden. A very wonderful building. Everything was ridiculously expensive (even for Taormina!) so we didn't use any facilities other than the room itself and the gym. 9 Euros for a cup of tea; 20 euros for a half bottle of average wine. Rather than stimulate extra revenue from its guests, its policy seems to drive them into the arms of the surrounding businesses.
The resort staff provided superior service from check in to departure and true to advertised detail there were stunning views of the sea and Mt. Etna from the restuarant.
Bedroom too small x price requested. For lunch only restaurant open Pool- site. Price for in hotel drinks-food exorbitant. Ambient excellent, gardens super.
The facilities for business use were quite poor with limited access to internet & business facilities. in the end I had to go into the town to use the internet facilities
Location, cortesia dello staff, ottimo servizio e rapporto qualità-prezzo (upgrade gratuito in una splendida suite)
The location is perfect. The building has a nice atmosphere and the service is what can be expected from a hotel in this price range. The room was small for a room in this price range. The food and beverages were unpleasantly expensive.
It was very centrally located within Taormina enabling easy access to various bars and restaurants. It also offered superb panoramic views of the sea and mt Etna. Staff were very firndly and helpful. Out dated decor of rooms and reception/ lounge area of hotel
We had a great view from our room that was wonderful to see each morning.
very old bed. small bathroom
The hotel has a pleasant home-like feeling and an excellent location. At breakfast time one can enjoy the view of Mt.Etna from the rooftop terrace. Around the corner are the Public Gardens (Giardino Pubblico), very convenient for a walk in the well tended park, and again with view of Mt.Etna and the sea. At the same time only a few minutes walk away from the main corso. English speakers are well served at the front desk. We were very happy with our choice of accommodation!
Location! I'd say is not a 4 stars hotel as advertised!
The room was good, a little old but quaint. It was clean and quite large. The hotel is also old but typical of Taormina. The staff were very polite and helpful. It was quiet and the view from my room beautiful. Breakfast was also very good and the view from the restaurant is of Naxos and Etna. I think it just needs some TLC
We stayed in junior suit with a perfect view of Etna and sea; the terrace was perfect..
The staff were polite and the breakfast was pretty decent. The views from the hotel of Etna and the sea were stunning. This should not be a four star hotel. We paid extra for a 'suite' but arrived to find a small room with a large balcony with a glass ceiling (sun bathing in a green house) - very basic (no mini bar, sky sport TV etc..) The website states beach & pool facilities are at the "Paradise Beach Club in Letojanni at about 10 minutes distance from the hotel". This is a lie. The beach is about 25 minutes by car alone!! If you dont drive then you can get the free hotel minibus. We did this three times and each time it arrived about 20/30 minutes late to collect us. From leaving our room to getting to the hotel pool took about 1 hour!! Avoid this hotel.
the staff attitude -
not a thing everything, the rooms were dirty dust everywhere, windows were filthy, dont think they had ever been used, excuse for an air conditioning unit that was full of bug and germ bearing dust, bathroom was awful the whole place had a seady air about it and I would not put my dog in it if it were a kennal
The beachside location was fantastic with beautiful panoramic views over Isolabella Beach. The hotel is far enough away from the town crowds, but close enough to the action when required - a short 80m walk to the fenicular. The staff are brilliant - anticipating our every need. The breakfast food was plentiful, and the pastries divine. There is a rail line below, however the hotel sliding doors are double glazed, so couldn't hear it.. and I am a very light sleeper. There are a couple of restaurants within 50m of hotel, or you can order in pizza for a relaxing night. It is definitely a value for money hotel. I would not hesitate to stay again. I highly recommend this hotel.
Beautiful situated, great views!! Walking distance to cable car, good resrtaurants nearby, spacious rooms, big lovely beds ( great matrass ) and a view to die for....! Very helpfull and friendly staff.
Friendly, helpful staff -- nothing seems too much trouble. Hotel seems well-appointed, well-maintained, well-cleaned.
The views of Isola Bella were stunning. The weather was atrocious and there was nothing to do indoors. A pool or gym would have been good.
The view to Isola Bella was amazing. Really nice continental buffet breakfast. Family with kids on the next room, earplugs necessary when having siesta
everything was spot on. The staff fell over backwards to assist. a bit pricey
Professional staff resolved problem with the A/C by changing rooms for us when hotel was fully booked.
Beautiful, clean, new hotel. Great staff. Wonderful breakfast.
Staff were excellent. Breakfast selection very good. Pity there was no dining room for evening meals.
Location, views. Taormina city
Very well run hotel, great staff, fantastic views, walking distance to town centre. Partition walls between rooms are to light, and the hill out of the hotel was very steep.
Beatiful views over the Bay, location within 5 mins walking of centre, lovely pool, friendly staff. Cost of Car Parking 8 euros per day.
very nice location, in the city up on the mountain, nice view. But shower room must be refurbiched.
Accessibility to town, beautiful pool, well appointed room, hotel fit out with good quality paintings and furniture.Room overlooking the pool and the view to the sea.In all an excellent place to stay They could probably increse the output of the air conditionining.Difficult to keep room cool in hot summer.
Very convenient to bus station, cable car and Taormina town. Pool area very nice as was bar balcony, with a nice view. Public areas very attractive. Free use of internet computer an advantage
Its proximity to the town and the views were spectacular. Gardens were well done Not really, we were there off season and the pool was shut, I suppose this was understandable
The location was great; overlooking the coastline and only a few minutes walk from the heart of Taormina.
The location was great and we had a room with wonderful views. The breakfast was excellent and the choices changed each day. It was only a short walk to the old town and the cable car. Car parking was great - very hard to get in Taormina. The only entrance and exit was down a very very steep circular driveway. Once you had climbed that the rest was easy.
Modern, comfortable, ideal, located with the attentive intelligent stuff, big rooms, easy to come to the center of Taormina and to the see. Nothing
Quality and variety of food. Green and huge territory, beautiful plants. Very convenient for families with children. No teakettle and crockery in the room.
Cozy, quiet, comfortable, good location, good service at the reception. Good choice for those who prefer family vacation close to the beach in a comfortable green park area. Excellent view to Giardini Naxos, Taormina, sea and Etna from the rooms in the main building. I wouldn't recommend this hotel for those who prefer to go out every night. However this is not a problem at all if you rent a car or use a taxi - it takes just 10 minutes to get to Taormina downtown and costs just about 15 euros one way.
The Worst Hotel!!!!
Very nice holiday, very good hotel, territory, beach. Lots of facilities for children
I found your hotel very attractive and will return back in a few days, I would like to inform you that on our last day we were sleeping witth the door locked and at about 3 a.m. a man entered our room and I shouted and he ran away.. I phoned for security but as he went away I asked that this case be forgotten
Average copy of Club Med. The place is vast and it helps to hide away from the crowd but the breakfast and dinner is a trauma - so many people...On the positive side, the place is clean and well maintaned. The service is very cold - minimum attention required. Swimming pools are good, archery works, there are some sail boats on the pebble beach but everything is at minimum cost. Few annoying details - you have to pay for a beach umbrella and towels, the beach belongs to resort but there are many strange people around - including those offering glasses, massage or boat trips .
Good facillities Lack of information in English.
Pleasant, spacious grounds that are well kept. Great swimming pools, nice beach. Staff mostly friendly and helpful. Nice family rooms (villas) Being asked to pay Euro 50 'deposit' for switching on tennis court lights at night. Atm cash machine in lobby was out of order for a whole week. Breakfast was acceptable, but virtually the same every day with little variation.
It was far more than I expected - had a great time
The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly. The hotel had the most spectacular views and beautiful gardens. The breakfasts were delicious and served on a terrace overlooking the bay. Our room was a de luxe room, very large with sea views. The hotel is very central for the main part of Taormina but if you want the beach, for a small fee, there is a shuttle service provided to take you.
excellent wiev, beatiful gardens, unbelievable location, super breakfast, very kind and helpfull staff at recepsion desk the waiter at the breakfast time, young woman, was impolite and nervous, she was distressed us! plastic chairs at the balconies
In the oldtown, nice view, clean rooms, good price
View (when I could see it) I chose larger room with view and tub - the air conditioning was not powerful too cool the room, even after the manager had an engineer "repair it". In order to get it cool enough I had to close the shutters leaving me with no view - even then the Temp at night was 28 degrees. Ants found in room and on bed. Manager also got lost his temper and shouted at me.
A man stood outside waiting for us, asking our name and saying there were expecting us. Before we knew it, he had taken our heavy suitcases out of the car and into our room! On top of that, he took care of the car. The service was a breeze as well as the comfort of the room. German efficiency, thoroughness and cleanliness combined with the Mediterranean culture: excellent! 15 euro for parking is a lot, but necessary over there. It might be an idea though to park your car by the 'ski' lift, transporting people from the beach to Taormina center for 3 euro return. Walk from there, 200 metres from the centre.
the location, the staff & the gardens
Breakfast excellent Parking difficult
The staff at Hotel Villa Schuler are exceptional; well motivated, warm and friendly, intelligent and keen to help. Villa Schuler provides an a la carte breakfast service that works well when the (excellent) staff can cope, but they were overwhelmed on our first morning, when the hotel was full. The management should consider providing a buffet - at least for the breakfast essentials. The front desk recommendation of places to dine appeared motivated more by price (helping guests avoid being 'ripped off', which is important in Taormina) than quality - and included one resturant where quality was, in our experience, inferior.
Excellent! It was a pleasure to be in such an historic hotel, which has retained much of it's charm but been updated to meet current guest expectations. The book describing the history of the Hotel, left in each visitor's room, is fascinating. The family continuity adds greatly to the understanding, enjoyment and ambience of the Villa. Leaving after so short a stay.
wonderful hotel, great staff. breakfast was amazing. excellent setting and so close to all the sights
Having a great view of the ocean and isola bella is priceless. b/c many of the rooms are stand alone bungalows, insects creep into the room which may be annoying for some guests.
Location is great, excellent views. The bungalo was very small and had no "garden" as was advertised and shown on the photos. Instead, it had a little plastic desk with two chairs located by the side road, with an angled seaview. Bungalo surroundings vary from one another and you may not get the one as per your expectations. Had to pay extra money to move to a suite because "no other bungalos were available"
Idyllic place. The location is fantastic, right on the edge of a small bay with a miniature island attached to the shore by a small sand bar. The hotel opened this year so everything is brand new a very beautifully done. In addition is relatively not that expensive compared to other top hotels in Sicily. I felt it was worth the money. As its perched on an incline the carpark is sometimes tricky to maneuvuor around especially if its nearly full. This is typical of such places not just this hotel.
The location is great. Beautiful views on Isola Bella. It took long to check-in and the staff, although very willing, was not very efficient/professional. Had to ask multiple times for things.
Very helpful staff; unusual, well designed room accomodation; lovely outlook from the beach to La Bella Isola An overpriced winelist; being pestered by itinerants on the beach offering massage every few minutes (although I'm not sure what the hotel can do about this)
Nice restaurant, nice beach Missing water kettle in the room, water stay in bathroom after shower
Superb view, helpful staff, clean and comfortable room
Staff really made this a memorable holiday. Food and service excellent Could do with a few renovations, but this also adds to the charm
Friendly & Helpful staff, nice beach, great views from balcony. Internet access was expensive , €10 per hour.
The hotel has an old world charm, good size clean rooms. Towels and Chairs provided each day on the beach. Not far from cabelcar which takes you up to the center of Taormina. Evening is boring if you do not go into the city.
The room was spacious and clean and I had an excellent sea view. Breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly and helpful. No.
Nice view from the room, very close to Taormine and direct access to the beach. Prices are high for a low season period.
The hotel room facing the beach, size of the room, the food the shower, there wasn't a real bath tub to stand in whilst taking a shower
Hotel staf and all services were excellent No.
the hotel was clean and the staff were nice and friendly. the location and the buffet breakfast the bar was hopeless
This hotel has amazing views of mount etna and the coastline. Location to Taormina's centre is excellent, within easy walking distance, although a steep walk back. Staff pleasant and helpful.
The view from the balcony was fantastic. You can see the Etna and the beautiful panorama. Our flight was at 11.30pm and we had to leave our room at Midday. which was a bit early, although we asked to extend our time in the room, we could not as the hotel was full up
A little below a 4* standard, mainly bathroom. We are smokers and there was an ashtray in the room. Review however say smokefree hotel
The Hotel Mediterranee was excellent. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the setting was picturesque will wonderful views and the atmosphere was calm and relaxing. I heard someone say that they thought that the shower was too small, but it was big enough for me!!
Location is good and staff are very helpful The air conditioning was not switched on although the temperatures were high. The overnight temperature in our room was usually over 25C. The hotel adavised that they don't turn on the air conditioning until June.
The Dinner Swimming Pool water was not very clean
Excellent location. The pool on the 7th floor is very nice providing a nice view over Taormina. Good value for money. I would definitely return. Breakfasts good definitely better than ok. we did not eat dinner in-house. There is a nice beach at the sister hotel and a return shuttle for €6. For a price/value combo in Taormina this hotel can be strongly recommended. Beach towels a bit thin, the decor is a bit faded, bed was fairly basic
fantastic views; excellent proximity to town centre; courteous staff
Obvious this was once one of the celebrity hotels, art deco but now a bit worn. Loved the feel. Staff was excellent. Spectacular views.Very affordable and I would recommend to all.
Situated in a good location 2mins walk down to centre. Pool at roof level. The hotel needs a general overhaul. It is very outdated. I would catagorise as 3star. The breakfast was poor.
The whole atmosphere in the hotel, with all the history and kind staff
the views having a film being made in the hotel during our stay. no thought about health and safety
The accommodations were first rate. The view from our balcony of the sea and of Mt. Etna was breathtaking. I loved the proximity of the hotel to the Taormina shopping area. I am already planning my return trip to the Grand Hotel Timeo. We ended up staying in a Junior Suite rather than the Double Deluxe Room. The signs in Taormina to the Grand Hotel Timeo could be better. It was hard for us to find the hotel entrance and the parking area.
luxury and intimate
the view, the swiming pool and the excellent breakfast italian staff never very dynamic
Quality of the public rooms No
The facilities, the view and the location
The hotel was quite beautiful and well located. The breakfast on the terrace with the beautiful view was a delight. We were located in the annex which we would not have taken if we realized it. Although the room was nice, we felt isolated.
It was a wonderful experience to stay this hotel. Sprendid view..... Very difficult to get the hotel by car.
We were not satisfied with our original room in the annex, but were upgraded to a suite in the main building with a wonderful view as soon as the staff realized our unhappiness.
The service and staff were excellent but as far as I could tell there were only one other couple staying at the time. It needs to be seen how they would cope in the high season. The design of rooms and and bathrooms was first rate and functional. The main restaurant menu was the only menu on offer for room service. For a hotel of this there should be another choice.
Intimate, luxurious and very good value out of season. A room you don't want to leave The shower didn't drain quickly enough
The hotel was luxuriously appointed, spotlessly clean and the staff very courteous, attentive and friendly. The interior design was beautiful and cleverly executed with many attractive features. It was positioned within walking distance of shops, restaurants and historical sights. The roof terrace was disappointingly small with few sunbeds and parasols. There was a very noisy air conditioning unit within a few metres of the sunbeds. Due to the lack of a swimming pool and balcony this was a problem for relaxation. In hotels literature there was a beach club advertised but no mention that it would not open until the 1st June. As we arrived on the 28.05.10 this was a disappointment. The beach club was clean with good facilities and friendly staff, but as it was shared with a 3 star establishment was a little mediocre for a 5 star luxury hotel.
The room and the staff were terrific
The room and location No pool!
Excelant view Breakfast was a little poor
Building is superb as is location. Suites are well designed and reasonably spacious. Friendly and helpful staff. There are a number of extra charges that are not expected with a five-star establishment eg for beach club use; for wifi and for parking and incidentally the parking is not on-site as suggested on the website. The standard continental breakfast though adequate is a tad on the meagre side.
Everything was fantastic - but the atmosphere was stylish without being sterile. The service was attentive, warm and very competent. The restaurant was excellent and the breakfast was yummy. The only thing that redeemed our 3 days of rain - was El Jebel. This hotel would suit anyone - young or old. I would not recommend this for anyone having difficulty climbing stairs. Although our luggage was taken care of - there are still at least 20 steps to the main entrance.
An excellent hotel in all aspects! It was the first time we spent a couple of nights there, but we would definitely like to go back, at least once a year. Relaxing, luxury and cozy at the same time. Excellent sea view from the Suite of Sultan, original design and decoration of the room and the bathroom. Mediterranean breakfast just superb. The only limitation, for people with walking problems, is the access to this hotel: through 20 stairs (and no access by car).
A perfect boutique hotel in the hearth of Taormina! The hotel staff were very professional and courteous. They spoke perfect English. The waiters at breakfast were exceptional serving a multi-course breakfast of our choice. The room was luxurious but not overdone. Comfortable beds, silent airconditioning, tastefully decorated, amazing views! The bathroom was exceptionally clean with the most elegant fixtures I have ever seen. Internet wifi available for free. The hotel is excellent located in Taormina (Sicily's Monte Carlo!), everything is within walking distance in this historic town. From the hotel's terrace (cool bar & restaurant on the rooftop) you have a superb view over Sicily's East-coast with Etna and Mediterranean sea! We will be going back to El Jebel that is for sure! One of the best hotels I have stayed at!
This hotel exceeded all my expectations. The family and their staff were all welcoming, helpful and efficient. Our room was charming, comfortable and spacious and the bathroom immaculate, with an excellent shower.
Wonderful views from our window.Good breakfasts. Shower was very small and would be too tight for anyone who is rather fat. There is no lift so light luggage and physical fitness are important for all as there are no ground floor rooms.
The hotel was reasonably placed for access to most parts of Taormina The distance one had to go to collect the car from the car park with which the hotel had an arrangement - over 10 minutes down a steep and busy road with little concession to pedestrians which, given the propensity for Italian drivers to use all of the road and any pavement area not separated by a curb made things somewhat dangerous!
Location, character and view from room Breakfast orange juice and having to carry cases up two flights of stairs
Extremely friendly and helpful staff and marvelous buffet breakfast. so lovely garden.
Lovely. Nice setting, convenient, nice room & breakfast.
Welcoming staff, lovely location, lovely scent, very clean, relazing environment, beautiful design, great value for money No :)
really good continetal breakfast, good location - close to town centre, bus station and cable cars to the beach, friendly and helpful staff no lift - 4th floor
Location very convenient for walking into Taormina centre and nearby places of interest. Lovely terrace and breakfast area. 4 flights of stairs to have a sea view, but hotel had informed us before hand that no lift and soon got used to the climb!
The staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke a number of different languages. The room was well furnished, with wi-fi, and had a terrace, although not a view. Convenient to town, but didnt have to deal with congested roads and easy to park nearby. The breakfast was freshly prepared and generous, in a nice room with a view. The room was noisy from those above and beside us and we could hear them walking and talking and moving furniture very distinctly, not to mention all the water in the pipes from their rooms. Try to get a room on the upper floors, which would also have a view.
The rooms are top quality and the food is excellent The beach and swimming pool area are too small for the size of hotel. Sunbeds are 4euros per bed per day!
It was quiet recable from everything We had to wait very long to be given the room
Our sea view room was lovely, and breakfast was fairly good. Staff were very helpful. It was almost the end of April and the pool was empty of water, so no swimming. Booked that hotel because of the pool and could have gone somewhere cheaper if we'd known that the pool was not in use! We were offered use of a pool nearby but it's not the same. Our room was lovely, but the mosquitos in it were not! The spray used by staff did not seem to have any effect on them
Very confortable room; staff very friedly; good breakfest; facilities for park, outside the hotel but not far from; good swimingpool. The beach is poor and not very safe for swimming
Good personnel, fast service in bar, clean swimming pool High prices for breakfast service, hard stay near the sea as there are stones and entrance (sea shore) to the sea is not covered, no iron in the room
The location by the sea is superb and the pool is excellent. Bedrooms are of a good size and well appointed. There is an additional charge for using the beach which it is not necessary to pay as the pool is more comfortable for sunbathing.
breakfast was very good, lots of selection rooms were clean and comfortable great for family vacations or people who wish to relax poolside not much to do in giardini naxos large hotels lose on personal touches that smaller hotels offer, like front desk/guest relations
the room, the breakfast, very nice hotel the parking was horror, the beach is all rocks, too expensive
We enjoyed the lovely views and gardens all around the hotel. The small number of staff were friendly and helpful and happy to bring drinks of any description to our terrace or out in the gardens. We had a very pleasant 3 day stay at Bel Soggiorno.
Views of Mt Etna in the morning were great
very relaxed no
The warm welcome and helpful staff made the stay an amazing one. Let alone the breathtaking view of the bay.
Except for the mini shower, superb *** hotel. Excellent breakfast. Very affordable wines available. When a German gentleman exercises his skills (?) on the piano for more than two hours.
The character of the place and the staff I could not criticise this hotel
The location of the hotel. a lot of steps to reach the room.
Excellent location, beautiful panorama, fantastic breakfast served at the terrace, nice and clean room. some traffic noise
beautiful view little parking but understandable
The feel of the hotel - very Sicilian. Views idyllic. Staff friendly and helpful
The restaurant and bar terrace. Also being on the beach.
Beautiful building, garden, beach and location. Full of ambiance with marvelous views. On bay and sea. Very near to hotel direct cable car to Taormina (every 15 min.untill 01.00 hrs.) Good breakfast in garden with lovely view. Good valet parking service at extra cost. 17Euro/day Staff is helpfull polite and speaks good English.
I liked the atmosphere. Staff were good. The garden was beautiful. The hotel was very close to the sea and had it own private beach. The staff on the beach at times distributed even some thermal water. What was a sign of a high class hotel, I guess. Everything was clean and bright. Wedding functions every evening. I like the music but the piano playing would go sometimes beyond midnight. lack of direction signs and you could get lost in the beginning. and I think the hotel was quite expensive....
The gardens and terraces were beautiful and well kept Most of the staff were very impersonal, unfriendly and indifferent. We were not at all impressed by the head waiter in the restaurant (glasses and balding) who seemed very stressed and rude, He certainly wasn't popular amongst the younger staff either !!
Excellent, friendly service. The staff really seemed to want us to have an enjoyable time. The hotel restaurant was quite expensive. It would have been nice to have had a cheaper dining alternative.
Hotel was very pleasant but very expensive for what it offered. Breakfast was very good but the beach was small. I thought it was expensive for what it offered.
The rooms were immaculate, the view breathtaking, convenient to transportation and the staff was extremely cordial and helpful. This was the best hotel we stayed in over our 13 days in Sicily. We liked everything!
Very friendly staff, ready to help you on all your requests. Good location near the cable road that takes your for 5 minutes to the centre of Taormina with very picturesque landscape, shops and restaurants. Private beach and quite isolated place, calm and beautiful The only thing that the hotel should consider is the breakfast time. Some of the excursions starts quite early and you don't have an opportunity to have some food before it. At least it could be possible to have a sandwich or croissant before leaving
comfortable facilities; friendly, helpful staff; proximity to gondala up to old town of Taromina. parking was remote - takes a bit of time to get car.
- Excellent location, on the beach and near to the cable car - good beach facilities including deck chair and towels supplied - Hotel has nice decour and "old world charm" - Friendly, helpful staff with good language skills - Rooms were small and pokey - No gym or excercise facilities - Very expensive mini-bar (e.g. €5 for a can of Coke) - No internet available in rooms, only 1 access point available in hotel and this carried a charge.
