Location was right off of a major thruway and on shopping center grounds. The hotel was new and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Restaurant was great. All in all...a winner. Would definitely stay there again.
Mattress was hard . Breakfast was not free.
The hotel is very convenient to the highway exit. The hotel is connected to nice shopping mall which gave the kids the opportunity to walk around without having to cross a road. The hotel also had an indoor pool and free breakfast with our room. It is convenient to Collierville and Germantown and, with the Bill Morris Expressway next to the mall, it is also very easy to get into Memphis. In fact, we drove into the Cooper-Young area of Memphis for dinner is about 20 minutes.
I recently stayed here with my family of four for two nights. It is a very nice hotel and the room was well designed and very attractively decorated. We were there with my parents and an aunt and uncle who shared another room. Theirs was also nice and lovely although smaller than ours. The staff was helpful and there were luggage carts were pretty easy to find. We stayed on the top floor and it was very quiet even with a hotel full of kids' baseball teams. One improvement would be to make a walkway from the lobby to the back doors so that guests can exit the hotel directly into The Avenue shopping/lifestyle center. As it is there is no easy way to cross the dining area. Being a part of the shopping center is this hotel's special feature, but it is actually made inconvenient for guests, not played up! The back doors are locked from the outside by our guest keys always worked when we returned from the shopping center, and this is a necessary security precaution. Guests who are not familiar with the Courtyard by Marriott should be aware that the breakfast in the lobby is NOT COMPLIMENTARY, but rather costs about $8.00. The main indicators of this are 1) No mention of a complimentary breakfast in promotional materials, online or otherwise, 2) Reference to a 'restaurant' onsite in all of the promotional materials and the in-room hotel guide, 3) A cash register at the entrance to the buffet line. ---While we were there the 'restaurant' seemed understaffed and could not keep up with everyone who was eating and leaving without paying.
