9.7 Excellent
Pros: Reasonably priced (for New York), very clean, great hot breakfast and awesome views of the New York skyline. Rooms have a small kitchen. Only one stop on the Path (subway) or ferry to Manhattan
Cons: Stayed here twice and both times my room was right above a light rail stop. The trains were noisy all night. Ear plugs helped.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Overall, a good place to stay if you need to be in Jersey City or lower Manhattan. It is only two blocks from the PATH train and the price certainly beats Manhattan prices.
Cons: The parking is not convenient. It is the shopping center parking garage behind the hotel, but it is not connected in any way to the hotel, which is inconvenient. Also, the shower faucet in our room was broken and we could not get truly hot water without the pipes banging loudly and the shower stall shaking. We were there for two days and it was never fixed.
6.0 Good
Pros: Comfortable bed
Cons: 50 dollars for Below average scrabled eggs, potatoes, oatmeal for two... I was not impressed with the price or quality of food.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff were extremely courteous, helpful and accommodating. At check-in, Debbie was wonderful, great sense of humor, and very professional. She upgraded our room and gave us a beautiful view of the Manhattan. The young man at the door was wonderful as well. He was kind and courteous. The beds were very comfortable and clean.
Cons: We didn't like that there was a charge for wi-fi. We normally stay in hotels where the wi-fi is free. On the positive side, since we didn't use it for the 24 hours that we paid for, my credit card was credited and we were only charged half of the fee for wi-fi. Wasn't too thrilled about paying $3.00 for a coke from the little store either.

Pros: The family really enjoyed our stay at the Westin Hotel in Jersey City. The staff was extremely friendly and the room was clean, comfortable and up to date. I have no complaints. The location was great if you want to go sight-seeing in New York. You are close enough to get to the city in no time (I recommend the subway (Path) with ease and have a location that is away from the hustle and bustle if that is what you prefer and Jersey City is extremely clean and people friendly. I can't recommend it enough!!!!
Cons: Nothing.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: Great stay. Ideal for venturing into NYC great location.

Pros: Location!! Near the Jersey city mall and the PATH train Friendliness and service from the staff Nice and big rooms, very good breakfast
Cons: Some things need to be refurbished
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Our connecting flight was cancelled due to the bad weather in NY, it was already midnight when I booked the hotel through the Hilton app, we had a good rate and more important there where rooms available. When we came in past 1 am the lady behind the desk was very helpful and understood the situation. She upgraded both rooms to the corner suite and late check out in the afternoon. The rooms where spacious and clean and after a very long day with a lot of stress and international flights it was heaven to have nice warm shower and fresh clean sheets. Service and friendliness as it should be.
Cons: Everything was more then okay
7.7 Good
Pros: Staff, including restaurant staff, were very friendly and professional
Cons: Jersey City NJ. Accessibility from the highway was poor, even utilizing gps.
5.7 Okay
Pros: close proximity to light rail and subway
Cons: lack of view, lack of customer service with rainy day needs; umbrella, dryer for coats and shoes. stayed 2 nights, but hotel split it to two separate nights and we have to check back in and re-key our room keys for the second night. brought personal pillow and maid service removed it during the daily cleaning. T/he pillow was never found.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is walking distance from just about everything and the light rail is behind it. Like the cookie at check in. Staff was very friendly.
Cons: Had a room on the 3rd floor and the view was a roof with lots of vents.
6.0 Good
Pros: All of the staff that I encountered were very nice. The bed was comfortable. I also loved the welcome cookie. It was a nice surprise and I was hungry!! The location was great for my needs and is just minutes away from the waterfront.
Cons: The room was nice enough but there was weird white stuff on the walls and in the bathroom. Cleanser maybe? I went down to the bar area and had to wait 5 minutes to be seen/ seated. There were just a few people there so it wasn't a busyness issue. I ordered soup. A little over 5 minutes later the server responded to tell me that the soup would take 25 minutes. I ordered pizza instead. It was fine but I was disappointed. The temperature in the room was freezing. I adjusted it with the thermostat on the wall but the air conditioner continued on, event though I had selected 68 on heat. I ended up pulling the plug to get it to turn off after an hour of adjusting the thermostat and waiting for warmth. I was exhausted from a long day and got in bed to watch tv. The remote control would not turn on the television. I inspected the outlets and they were all okay. The button on the tv worked but, even then, I was only getting 4 commercial channels. The lights on the remote were coming on also so I figured it wasn't batteries. I decided to call the front desk. Unfortunately, the phone in my room did not work/ call to the front desk. I tried both lines but no luck. I even tried dialing other services available on the phone but that just rang and rang. So.... exhausted and frustrated, I got dressed and headed down to the lobby. I had to wait a bit as a few people were just checking in. The person at the desk was very nice and sent someone up to my room. The man arrived to fix the television. He was extremely nice but the issue did take about 15 minutes or so to resolve. He wasn't sure why the issue happened but he had to get a special remote and change some settings. In the morning, I headed down to the restaurant again. I asked if I could order from the menu. I was told buffet only, though I think there may have been a communication issue. I later asked a different server after I saw the selection up close. It was generally unimpressive. She said that I could order from the menu but I decided to just stick with the buffet since the menu would take longer and I felt like I was being a burden by ordering. I was extremely disappointed overall. The eggs, potatoes and waffles were all cold. I ate just a little bit and spent over $20 with tip. I was extremely disappointed. Overall, I wouldn't recommend or stay at this hotel again, unfortunately.

Cons: It is affordable and that's about it. Not much service.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Great place the only thing would like to see is better air freshening in the hallways -- predominantly Asian guests on extended stays who do a lot of cooking and the strong odor of the foods can be overwhelming in hallway and on elevators but not in rooms. This is why I give it a three for cleanliness for public spaces. Rooms are excellent quiet and modern with updated renovation in 2014.

Pros: The location to Manhatten is fantastic! The staff were welcoming and informative and very prompt!
Cons: Paying for parking which I didn't know to take into account as far as the budget goes is an extra $12 a day. I also thought that the bathrooms needed remodeling, they have an awkward layout and some rusting was showing.

6.0 Good
Pros: alot cheaper than other NY hotels
Cons: AC was not working good housekeeping did not come through, actually had to check out earlier it was not what i expected pay for parking
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It took us less than 5 minutes to walk up JFK to PATH. Chickpea restaurant is right at entrance to PATH and had super tasty gluten free, vegan options that we could carry back to eat at hotel. Stayed on fourth floor and liked separation in room. Bathroom is tucked away and little area for fridge and microwave helped keep costs down. Friendly staff.
Cons: No parking, had to find parking and then walk 5 blocks to hotel to check in then back to car to move closer to hotel to unload bags. This was hard after a long day of driving but hotel staff was very kind and helpful once we arrived. Parking is available 1.5 blocks away for 12$ a night. This should be mentioned with reservation so you know where to go. Neighborhood is run down. We weren't out after dark.

Haiban Inn - Jersey City - Building
18
6.1 Good (428 reviews)
Overview Reviews
New York City is a wonderful destination for travelers but not everyone enjoys staying in the middle of it all. Instead, many folks enjoy being on the outside of the city, but the truth is there are just as many reasons to stay in Jersey City as there are to stay in New York. There is much to see and do in Jersey City, and whether you wish to use the location as a platform to visit New York or experience this city’s vibrant culture, the Haiban Inn puts you right in the middle of the city. The Haiban Inn is a hotel that sits right in the middle of Journal Square, near the train station. This means you have easy access to get around the tri-state area as well as walking around the city. The hotel’s modern décor is ideal for its setting and the beds are quite comfortable. You can easily relax here as you get ready for what the next day has in store. However, location is what sets the hotel apart, because it’s right in the middle of where there’s so much to do. One of the best things to do in Jersey City is enjoy the local culture. Like most of the New York City metro area, there is a hodgepodge of cultures calling this place home. You can walk down the street and have an experience with six different people hailing from six different continents. Though the hotel doesn’t offer an in-house restaurant, there are several options along the way including street carts and traditional sit-down establishments. Staying in Jersey City is a great way to experience a different style of the New York metro area, and the Haiban Inn puts you in the middle of everything.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very inexpensive, clean, everything you need, not too much else. 5 minute walk to PATH train to NYC and the greater New Jersey area. Definitely the right kind of place for someone who wants a cheap & clean room for JC / NYC on a budget
Cons: They have limited parking areas, you may want to call ahead to inform them you plan to park a car. Otherwise you might wind up using the local parking garage.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was really nice, quiet and comfortable. They have everything near by. I would definitely recommend it.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Price was right and nothing to complain about. Easy access to NYC, so it's great as a sleeping and shower spot for much less than a Manhattan hotel. One easy path train to midtown Manhattan. Good for solo travelers who want to pay the least and still visit NYC. AC unit made sleeping wonderful. They had a kitchenette in case you felt like cooking. Also surrounded by great Indian restaurants. If all you want is a room to crash in after a big NYC day of touring, this is perfect. Great staff. 20mins by PATH to Manhattan.
Cons: Bathroom was a little small, but really who cares about that? It was clean. Only 3-4 TV channels, but again, if you get home from NYC at midnight, who cares. Odds are you are going into Manhattan every day and only sleeping in NJ because it saves you hundreds per night. This place does that. Lower price means lower expectations, n'est ce pas?
