it was a little to old
sunbathed, dined, enjoyed the spectacular views. kids club spoiled the ambience of dinner on the terrace. The pplants along the connecting walkway were very dusty: it looked dirty and neglected.
The views are stunning. The receptionists (except one) were excellent and very courteous. One could hardly communicate with us.In the main, staff were very friendly. Lacks human warmth ! The 'atmosphere' was 'cold' and somewhat empty. The distance from local amenities was too far away. One needed a hire car or taxi. The taxi was no less than 20 euros one way. Taxis in general you should avoid. Pool area off limits.
Location is excellent Spa is very nice
We had a good week in July / August 2010, the hotel is about an hour from Pisa. The hotel is up a steep drive about a mile long but has splendid views.
Location There was no conditioner in my room, just bad ventilation. Sum funiture is broken.
The hotel is gorgeous and is in a perfect location in the mountains of Tuscany. The nearby city of Barga is fascinating to explore, as are all the small villages dotted around the hills. And there's plenty to see and do at Il Ciocco itself. All in all, an ideal holiday spot. The hotel doesn't have an iron for the use of the guests, and for the price of having a garment ironed, I could have bought new clothing. I'll bring my own iron next time I visit.
The location was fantastic The rooms need to be updated and the bar and restaurant are poor.
The room was nice and clean Although there seemed to be plenty of free rooms, we first got a room that looked out on a dirty place and some rocks and where there was a constant noise of a machine. Only after complaining we got a better room.
A nice hotel as well for business events as for holidays. We got a special price for the weekend and what we got for was great. A big room, nice and big bathroom. The furniture in the room is a bit old-fashioned but in a good condition. The breakfast was outstanding. They offer loads of sparetime activities!!
Location: mountain, in nice small town, near Luca. Free parking. Nice view.
The only advantage of staying in this hotel was the pool. The room was not clean, i kept finding long black hairs from the previous occupier. The room was noisy and the breakfast was poor. One morning they just put us out one pastry each on our table so we could not eat more than one. At night I returned to find the hotel in darkness, I has to find my way to the reception to find my key. I would not recommend this hotel.
Nice staff, very indulging of Americans and willing to be flexible to help out. Great rooms--only wish I had time for the spa! Bagni di Luca is a tiny town. There is only one taxi, so if you take the train make sure you have prior arrangements to be picked up.
Not much. The staff was not very wellcoming. The door to our room made an awful sound when opened. When made aware of this we were met with a shrug.
service was ok staf knows only italian
It was very Italian and individual, rather like being invited to someones home. We ate there in the evenings and the food was excellent, tasting as though it was cooked by an Italian grandmother. Most other guests were Italian, all ages . They have a spa pool which all guests can use which was most therapeutic. No
Hotel room and bathroom very clean and spacious. The staff were very plesant. We would stay at the hotel again, it was excellent value for money
Quiet, cool and easy to park Room not cleaned as well as it might be.
it was a bit noicy from the street.
We liked the room with the balcony and the view over the garden, and the enviroments. For the season (october) the room was too cold. There wasn't any heating.
Swimming pool The hotel is only part renovated. Minimum staff: 3 young people do all the work.
pool and pool furniture were excellent.
Good sized room, nice view, good bathroom Nothing. Could have better furnishings in the future
Very professional and efficient staff who were happy to help with any problems or needs. Excellent room with very comfortable beds. We asked to extend our three night stay by a further night and it was done without any problem. Also enquired about using wifi in the room and again this request was done quickly and immediately. Breakfast was quite good, but the possibility of bread rolls could be considered.
Good position in town centre. Nice gardens with swimming pool (although out of season) Building grandeur. Staff very helpful despite late arrival. Enjoyed buffet breakfast.
Price was excellant for the hotel which was a very good 3 star. We were offered a different room on the park side which was quieter but we declined the extra 20euros...it really was not noisy - you can hear the runnign river but it's water not roads so it's not distracting
We had a wonderful time at Hotel Ristorante Corona. Roberto his family and staff were welcoming, friendly and so helpful. We had an amazing view from our room which we paid a little extra for. I would advise guests to eat at least one evening meal in the hotel, every dish is delicious. Thank you Roberto for a memorable visit to your family run hotel.
Very friendly staff, good location close to main road and next to beautiful river, excellent restaurant with fair prices, parking space in front of hotel and large parking lot nearby, international breakfast, basic but clean and comfortable rooms, ...
The staff was friendly and the room was basic but comfortable. I thought it was good value for money, clean and comfortable. The rooms are noisey, due to the location on the main road and the church bells, not so bad in winter when the windows are shut but i would think in summer difficult to sleep.
Courteous and helpful manager / owner. Nice location. Lovely breakfast looking over Lima River Understandably - it was off-season time - so the hotel was a little quite - not lived in over the winter perhaps. I look forward to a return vist during the summer.
The staff was exceptionally friendly and made the stay very enjoyable. The room and the hotel itself, was a beatiful example of 19th century construction and was well maintained.
Great breakfast, good restaurant, nice and helpful staff, nice bathroom Location - it was close to a bus stop, but there were only several buses a day and train station was 2.5 km away. The room I stayed was facing street and not river (more expensive), so it was a bit noisy at night (although I expected that from other reviewers' comments).
Excellent small hotel in the vacinity of the villages we needed to explore as well as near Lucca. The on-site restaurant was excellent as well and the value for money the best of our trip. none
Food in the restaurant is excellent - would recommend. Breakfast area very nice too, staff extremely friendly. Parking (limited to 5or 6 cars) in front of hotel. Location of hotel good for travelling to Lucca, or up in to the mountains. Not much to see in the village where the hotel is, but surrounding scenery was very good and easy to tour round from here. Would definitely need to have transport if you stayed here. Rooms at back had balcony - were a bit dated but quite large. Hotel could do wih replacing the shower curtain with a newer one, but it was all perfectly comfortable and a good all round hotel.
Lovely hotel in an old building overlooking the river. The manager was extremely cheerful and helpful and the source of much information. He downplayed his restaurant as serving onle simple fare, but we found the food to be very well presented, very high quality and with wonderful flavour. If you stay here eat in the restaurant. We complimented him on his olive oil, and he then gave us a bottle!
Our stay, 6 nights, at Hotel Corona was simply lovely. We enjoyed our quiet room above the river, which lulled us to sleep every night, as well as much needed noontime naps. We felt rejuvenated each day as we made our way throughout the district of Bagni Di Lucca. The morning breakfast was always delicious and plentiful, and served by a delightful and hardworking staff member. Either Signore Roberto Merlot, or Signora Julianna greeted us enthusiastically, each time we entered the reception area; frequently asking us about our day, or offering helpful advice. The hotelier, Signore Roberto Merlot, a very cheery man, was quick to give us helpful hints on where to tour, swim, or spa. He happily gave us direction to out-of-the-way places, as well as where we could find such places as the Laundromat, and Post Office. We took two evening meals at the Ristorante Corona, each being well prepared, plated, and served; and we heartily suggest sampling these delightful meals! Being so taken with this hotel, this staff, and this district of Toscana, we are sure to visit here again, and again. We highly recommend the Hotel Ristorante Corona! There was not anything we did not like about this hotel.
