Good location in terms of the beach
In dire need of renovation. Awful rooms and staff are slow and inefficent at check-in
The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was completely upgraded and clean. The amenities were very nice. Heated pool, it was December, salon, restaurant and outside tiki area.
The outside of the hotel is not adequately being maintained. We had a street view and our window was so dirty we could barely see out of it and there was bird feces all over the ledge that had not been cleaned in some time. But still an excellent place to stay.
The view was great and the hotel was clean.
Upon checking into the hotel, I quickly discovered a metal plate across the balcony of my ocean view room which stuck up about 6 inches, causing me and my boyfriend to trip over it and nearly fall at least twice during our stay. Maybe it was meant to keep small animals like Chihuahuas from entering onto the balcony (sarcasm). I was barefoot during one of those "trips" and stubbed my toe to the point of bleeding. Once we got used to hurling ourselves over that barrier and we were enjoying the ocean view from the balcony which partially overlooked the parking garage where I parked my car, we realized we were watching people come and go during the evening. You would assume since this is a"resort" there would be surveillance as well as security keeping an eye on the parking lot every few minutes or so. We watched three young guys walk out of the exit, cellphones in hand and recording, deliberately ripping windshield wipers and side mirrors off of several cars (one of which was mine) as we yelled at them and made a quick exit to get downstairs as quickly as possible, as we got off the elevator we crossed paths with one of the security guards. We told him what happenned, a police report was filed (this all took until about 5am)and we went back to bed after asking for a late checkout so we could get some sleep. When I went to check out the next afternoon, I told the manager about what happened. He showed no empathy whatsoever, and offered nothing. I will be speaking to the general manager, but in the meantime I'm out the cost of my insurance deductible and the cost of a rental car while they repair my car. We didn't stay a second night. We got on kayak and found another hotel which didn't charge us a "resort fee". We had no problems whatsoever our second night in daytona beach, and the management was much more pleasant.
Room is terrible, warming system is not working, mattress is very uncomfortable as well
The room smelled like cigarettes and did not have the promised balcony
My husband and I wanted something on the beach and inexpensive. The view they promised was spectacular, it's very close to the fun attractions and places to visit, and Walgreens was 1 block away which is promising if you forget to pack something. Staff was great, pool was immaculate, huge and heated. Easy access to beach.
Location and indoor parking
Rooms needed better lighting. No overhead lights. Only two bedside lamps.
The hotel is spotless when you walk in , and customer service is excellent .
Nothing at all everything meet my expectations and more . One thing that could be changed is the comforter , it's a little small and not puffy that's all.
We loved the Plaza Resort and fully plan to return. With limited ability to eat out, I was especially grateful that they rooms had a kitchenette that I don't recall seeing in the listing on Kayak. Basically, a nice counter top with sink, kitchen cabinets and drawers stocked with utensils, dishes and glasses, dorm sized fridge and a large microwave. I also didn't see that there were two alcoholic beverages included in the price. Both were pleasant surprises.
Only downsides were the maid didn't clean the kitchenette area but, we called the front desk and within minutes two maids came up and cleaned things up and left us with extra coffee. They were awesome. The laundry units were a bit challenging to use. I think one of the credit card readers was not functioning properly. The soap dispensers really needed cleaning out as well. Our clothes smelled like whatever detergent was caked in there even after I attempted to clean it out. Very minor things that absolutely would not hold us back from returning.
The drinks and water bottles in the room . The staff was very friendly
The smell in the hallways and carpet stains in the room- just seemed old and dirty
The Plaza hotel was a great overall stay. The room was clean and spacious. Located on the beach with access via the pool area. And only a five to ten minute walk to the music venue area and pier. Pool area has a good little bar/food window. Drinks we're really good, bucket drink a very good deal for the price. Staff allowed us access to the pool before the room was ready.
Only two issues with my stay, the wait for the elevator during the busy time. We got lucky a few times and caught it just right. And my view wasn't of the beach, but that was my fault for not checking.
Plaza resort was the best experience I have had in a long time, my husband and I went to celebrate my 50th Birthday and what a great time we had! All inclusive was better by the day, not having to leave the resort Dinner at the Resturant oh my, I'm a cardiac patient and they had Heart Smart Meals, what more could I ask for a comfortable bed to sleep in and thats just what I recieved the feeling of home without the work!( Smile). The pool side was refreshing with music, food, and drinks of my desire and a 12.00 credit for my Birthday! The Beach allowed for us to drive on the Beach if desired felt like the early 60's with vintage muscle cars for showing lots to do for families and friend. Activities for children, Basketball court,Chest Set, Bean bag toss, wholla hoops with an activity person daily. Also a big screen movie out by the pool we watched Peter Pan, I honestly felt like a kid again and this was my Birthday Party at the Plaza Resort and down the Beach was a Fire Works display what Joy with peace of mind!!! I will return!! Vivian
We were moved three times because the room had dif issues. Broken door, no beach view. Overall it went well after that was handled. Breakfast was nice. Not sure if the free coupons were because of the issues or included in our stay. I will def return. Loved it.
Just frazzled a bit from changing rooms.
Great oceanfront location.
Rooms were dated, service was uneven- some staff were great, others, not good at all. The food was just passable. I left an item there and after several calls, messages and even speaking to Alicia in housekeeping, I have not received a return phone call.
Front desk support very friendly and accommodating
Facilities seemed old and run down. Rooms were but great, especially for the price. Disrepair.
Our stay was nothing short of great here! We come to Daytona every year for rod run, this was our first time at this location. We arrived before our friends who had originaly reserved the room. We were concerned we would not be able to check in without them. We explained our concern to the staff they originally said we would have to wait, but while standing talking to the check in person one of the manager of the hotel over heard our delima and not only allowed us to check in, but upgraded our room to a beach front suite! This was a totally unexpected surprise! The room was beautiful with an amazing view! This will be our go to hotel for years to come!
The only sugestion I have is long bar hours.. this was a very busy weekend and I was bummed to see the bar closed by 9 on a Saturday night.. we would have liked to have sit and sat for a few drinks for going out in town.
On the beach
On heat in the room got down to 40s
The view from the room. The location is right on the beach and close to the nightlife.
Was perfect for us!
great location,friendly staff
booking with Kayak cost me twentyfour dollars more than if I would have booked direct.
Like someone else said, "it's good if you HAVE too stay in Daytona." It was clean so not much else matters to me.
The bathrooms are very small and The whole hotel smells like a Dog salon.
