Lovely location. Good beer served in a friendly bar. Food excellent in pleasant candle lit surroundings.
Our room was fine except we could hear the couple next door breathing as the doors had gaps all around as they don't fit the frames.
Friendly staff and both meal and service were very good. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Devon, and the surrounding grounds are delightful.
Room was fairly basic and mattress old. ch was ok but radiator in bathroom leaked. Bathroom was quite large but shower was very small, and no table or chairs, etc on which to put toiletries. Could not get tv to function. No signal for mobile phone - not the hotel's fault, but a practical problem, nonetheless as no-one could contact me who did not have the phone no of the hotel itself. I was, of course, able to phone out, using the phone in the bedroom.
The room was very comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared and delicious.
Nothing at all.
Food was good as well as the location
Rooms were tired and not advertised as being in an annexe or that steps were involved to reach them
The excellent evening meal and reasonable prices.
The room we stayed in could have done with an upgrade to the shower.
Hotel was in beautiful setting with well maintained gardens
Unfortunately no hot water in room, bathroom radiator not working.
Friendly staff, Good food, very nice location.
Some rooms, especially those in the block separate from the main hotel building look tired and could do with modernisation / refurbishment, I.e provision of hairdriers, shaving points and a modern shower unit.
Great location, easy to find, attentive staff, super food presented well. Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night as passing through Honiton on business but we would definitely stay there again.
Room small but it was a late booking as such and the facilities were perfectly adequate. Room also damp as it was away from hotel but sure its lovely in the summer.
Scenery and friendliness
