6.7 Good
Pros: Lovely location. Good beer served in a friendly bar. Food excellent in pleasant candle lit surroundings.
Cons: Our room was fine except we could hear the couple next door breathing as the doors had gaps all around as they don't fit the frames.
5.7 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff and both meal and service were very good. The hotel is in a beautiful part of Devon, and the surrounding grounds are delightful.
Cons: Room was fairly basic and mattress old. ch was ok but radiator in bathroom leaked. Bathroom was quite large but shower was very small, and no table or chairs, etc on which to put toiletries. Could not get tv to function. No signal for mobile phone - not the hotel's fault, but a practical problem, nonetheless as no-one could contact me who did not have the phone no of the hotel itself. I was, of course, able to phone out, using the phone in the bedroom.
6.0 Good
Pros: The room was very comfortable and the staff friendly and attentive. The food was well prepared and delicious.
Cons: Nothing at all.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Food was good as well as the location
Cons: Rooms were tired and not advertised as being in an annexe or that steps were involved to reach them
6.7 Good
Pros: The excellent evening meal and reasonable prices.
Cons: The room we stayed in could have done with an upgrade to the shower.
3.6 Mediocre
Pros: Hotel was in beautiful setting with well maintained gardens
Cons: Unfortunately no hot water in room, bathroom radiator not working.
6.4 Good
Pros: Friendly staff, Good food, very nice location.
Cons: Some rooms, especially those in the block separate from the main hotel building look tired and could do with modernisation / refurbishment, I.e provision of hairdriers, shaving points and a modern shower unit.
6.0 Good

6.0 Good
Pros: Convenience of being on main road, easy to find in the dark. Friendliness of owner. Lovely bathroom, new towels and toiletries.Warm in minus temperatures.
3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Over priced, adequate accomodation, friendly staff.
Cons: Hotel up for sale, staff being made redundant, poor service due to staff and stock being run down.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The hotel was very convenient and easy to find. We arrived early evening and all the outside lights were on giving an excellent first impression. There is ample parking and the exterior is very attractive, leading to high expectations. The food was delicious.
Cons: The hotel seemed to be understaffed. We were shown to a room in an extension, accessed from outside. The staff member couldn't open the door and we had to carry our bags back to the foyer whilst she found another room for us. We then had to carry everything back outside to a room adjacent to the original one. The same lady was the only person on duty at dinner, other than the chef. She clearly could not do everything at once and so service was rather slow. The bed was rather small and I just think that £90 was very expensive for the quality of the accommodation and service
4.3 Okay
Pros: It was very quiet if this is what you looking for.
Cons: Very little space for clothing once unpacked and nowhere to store suitcase. Garden patio area quite rundown. Minimal staffing levels.
