beautiful view from every room breakfast on the Saturday morning was poor, but on the Sunday morning was very good.
Peace and quiet, room with a view, good food, king sized bed and spacious bathroom.
Location Not being able to use my laptop or mobile phone
The views are simply stunning. Get a lake view room, the extra cost is well worth it. Staff are superb and the hotel has bags of charm. We will be returning without doubt.
Location, food Room availability. Shabby chic was a bit too shabby and the attention to detail was lacking.
The location of the hotel is spectacular with stunning views of the lake.
Wonderful dinner at Hotel restaurant and the view when the sun was setting. Cleaning - Bath tub was not clean on the day I checked in so I couldn't bath. Next day the cleaning had not been done. Hand towels were not changed even if they had been wet.
White water rafting at Bala Visited the Lake Vyrnwy sculture park and dam Swimming pool/spa facilities would be a good addition
1) Location( Nice view). 2) Tidy. 3) Stylish. 4) Romantic&Relax. No elevator.
The friendliness of the staff and comfortable atmosphere
Nice friendly hotel with good food. Very clean and spacious. Would stay again. Beautiful countryside views. no
Very central for waking in Wales
Sight seeing, and concert
Excellent location, friendly staff, good food.
Beutiful, quiet location.
Suited our requirements very well. Hotel staff very accomodating and friendly
It was obvious on arrival that we had made an excellent choice of Hotel our room was as described the views where fantastic. Both the Owners who are involved heavilly in the running and managing the hotel could not do to much for you. The food was also excellent with a sustantial Menu and Daily Specials board to choose from. Both my Wife and i feel that the Hotel is Excellent value for money and would recommend to anyone reading this review 10/10 this being our opinion others may differ keep it up Only that the stay wasn't for long enough
Owners very friendly and couldn't do enough for you
Very friendly and helpful staff with good food supplied even when not included on the menu small amount of traffic noise and the low flying jets although this was made apparent when booking lack of electric power point in bathroom for shavers etc
Hotel Food Excellant Staff Excellant Would like King Size Beds , on my next visit and there will be a next visit.
It was very clean and the room was lovely - so lovely we didnt get chance to sample the breakfast!
The breakfast and restaurant facilities were very good.
Very friendly staff, very comfortable surroundings, excellent breakfast very warm even though no heating was on which was apparently due to the hot water pipes instead
Friendly and helpful staff, large comfortable room with view, town centre location, excellent value for money Nothing
Good 'get-away from it all' venue - excellent bar facilities with good food, beer and excellent company at a 'value for money' price. The stairs - second time staying at this hotel and ended up on the top, third, floor. 48 stairs to climb is a killer!!!
Very comfortable hotel .Good food with an excellent choice on the menu. Staff were very polite and attentive. Bedrooms were large and very comfortable .
We extremelely had a lovely time staying at your hotel. The rooms were spotlessley clean, and food was fabulous. We will truly recommend this to others, exceptional stay! n/a
Convenient location, good and flexible meal arrangements, excellent food, calm and relaxing environment
Friendly helpful staff the noise friday and saturday night from revellers outside the hotel
A very warm welcome , excellent room over looking lake, service excellent able to enjoy glass of wine on decking overlooking lake. Good choice at breakfast, nothing too much trouble would stay there again. Parking limited but always seems to fit all guest cars in and a bit of a climb walking back from bala centre.
Welcoming drink after a long drive as well as the comfort and cleanliness of the hotel. Nothing, it was good.
Hotel staffs were very kind and warm. Breakfast were excellent. We couldn't take dinners in the hotel.
We booked in for 3 nights B&B and stayed for four. The staff could'nt do enough for us. I couldn't have hoped for a more pleasant stay. By the time we left the staff were like our friends. LEAVING
Impressive house in a great position, welcoming hosts, comfy rooms and a dinner to die for - do not miss this! Probably one of the best places we have ever stayed at. Missing out on the local male voice choir's practicr due to a tight schedule.
The house was really lovely, with a magnificent view of Bala, the lake and the hills. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived and were looked after caringly throughout our stay. The breakfasts were delicous, our hosts going out of their way to make them suitable for our vegetarian diets. Only one - that our bathroom was not en suite, but it was right opposite our room and very comfortable, so it didn't really bother us. Ours was apparently the only room in the house which didn't have an en suite bathroom.
Very friendly and helpful owners. Hotel in a beautiful location about 10 minutes walk from Bala town centre, but take a torch if coming home late. Excellent breakfast. Rather small room with even smaller shower room. Restaurant was closed on the two days we stayed there, which was not a problem for us. But if a hotel states it has a restaurant, it really should be open.
Lovely house in a good location for exploring North Wales. We were made very welcome and felt at home with attentive service. Excellent breakfast and helpful people who spent time making sure we enjoyed our time in the beautiful surroundings of Snowdonia.
We had a wonderful break nothing was to much trouble for the owners. The food was excellent the chef was first class and he had to cope in dire circumstances, bad weather had caused a power cut which lasted nearly 24 hours but he and his wife pulled out all the stops to make my birthday treat a success. Well done Frondderw we are truely satisfied customers and will return. We loved it all.
staff attentive and friendly and communal rooms comfortable bedroom too small and I would have expected a larger than 4'6" bed, the unusual request by the waitress for the time of your appearance at breakfast. The food was tasty but chefs appear to try too hard combine food tastes.
Comfortable room with lovely view of the estuary. Excellent staff and super breakfast.
I was not very impressed with the cleanliness of the room it was fithy I have taken photographs as evidence and will be complaining directly to the hotel. I was advised by your staff that we would receive a luxury room of 32sqmtr this was not the case when I asked on booking about breakfast in bed was advised yes and that on arrival we could only have continental breakfast. The breakfast was awful bacon so crispy that if I put my fork into it it would have shattered all over the restaurant, scrabbled eggs not cooked properly. The prices for the three course evening meal was disgusting £40.00 per head. Bar prices were ridiculous how can you justify a pint of Budweiser and a Jim Beam and Pepsi total price £10.20 riciculous. The whole experience of staying in an old manor house with oak panelling everywhere, creaking floorboards, characteristic furniture and decor, and a romantic and relaxing atmosphere in such a beautiful setting. Excellent cuisine and wine list in the restaurant
A great hotel with beautiful gardens, superb interiors, calm location, convenient access to both mountains and the see, excellent meals and hospitality of staff. I am confident to recommend this hotel to anybody who would like to enjoy relaxed holiday.
Beautiful hotel, stunning location and grounds. Very friendly staff. Only fault I can find is that the toilet in our room made an awful noise when flushed (trapped air in the system I think?!)
The building - great atmosphere, the location, the food and attentive staff. Room got cold at night. Reception area not always manned - sometimes had to walk about to find someone.
We enjoyed the tranquility of the hotel and the stylish presentation. Also the orama of lillies was distinctive and the very comfortable room was most enjoyable Two of us had duckling which was badly cooked rendering it tough. Our TV would not work and we asked for help. However when we tried to turn it in again it would not work. The problem was that it was old epquipment that did not work properly. Our radio was not programmed in so we could not get any programmes a except static.
Very Comfortable. Lots of nice finishing touches. Nothing springs to mind.
Very nice location. All public rooms very well presented and staff friendly None
The hotel and particularly Tim, Sue and their staff, is wonderful. Nothing is too much trouble for their guests, food is exceptional, views are fantastic. None, except a long way from us
A well run, comfortable Hotel with the personal touch. Excellent well prepared and presented food. None
Excellent food. Very good room. Good service. A most enjoyable stay.
Excellent food and service
Friendly staff; good management/organisation; very good food especially good presentation; geographically well situated hotel for excellent walks, wildlife and scenery. One morning our breakfast omelette was salty.
Unusual hotel in good location. Willing and pleasant staff. Good menu and food Staff sometimes disorganised, Shower pressure and temperature variable
The hotel is firendly and nicely positioned in a pitoresque natural environment - we had a room in the lodge which is an old station house facing the estuary. The rooms are nicely decorated and equiped with flat screen TV, comfortable bed, tasteful decoration. The food in the restaurant (in the main building) was extremely tasty and we had a good choice. Also the breakfast was excellent (including smoked kippers :-)) and the staff was really friendly and helpful - helping out to warm our baby food for instance or giving us directions to travel around. It's a good base to go around the area to visit Portmeirion, Barmouth or Harlech. We've arrived quite late in cold wintery evening and the room prepared for us was freezing cold - the heating wasn't put on before we came which was extremely unfortunate as we travelled with our small baby. The staff did kindly offered us to stay by the fire in the main building until the room gets warmer but as kids where already tired it wasn't a good option. As the first night is anyway charged in case of no show I don't understand why the room wasn't heated properly in advance particularly because it took almost a day to get it to a right temperature. The bathroom was a bit oldish vs. the rest of the room and only featured a shower which took lots of time to give warm water however the overall hotel experience was definitely good.
Ideal location for traveling around snowdonia,Harlic castle , Portmerion , Canarfon, and walking and boat trips
We enjoyed our stay very much and would recommend the hotel to friends and family. The quality of our dinner and breakfast were excellent and so was the service. Shower curtain rail in room 9 lodge was a bit loose and hanging down.
Very cosy and good atmosphere, food excellent. Room clean and warm, really good view and great setting a for couple with a dog. Perfectly placed for the walking that we intended to do. Not major bad points but the fixtures and fittings were not co-ordinated and a bit jaded.
Lighting in bedrooms very poor - impossible to read comfortably
Lovely venue, amazing menu choices and high standard of cooking. Must get very busy in the summer but wonderful in November for some r&r
Fantastic, superb location, on a solo end of season motorcycle tour, stayed in a lodge room, brilliant views across the estuary, bargain at £45 for b&b. Food was excellent - I'll be back again in the future with my wife. Nothing
The location was fantastic. What a view! The bar/restaurant was warm and inviting, and the food just great. We arrived on a wet and windy day and the warmth and friendliness of the bar/ restaurant was just what we were looking for
Room was very nice and bath and shower was lovely. Food excellent
The room was very comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The surroundings were outstanding
Great Location and a Hearty Breakfast
convenient location no proper coffee, limited breakfast menu - only tinned grapefruit & no fresh fruit, breakfast not possible before 8 am
Friendly informal service. Wonderful location. Excellent room
Location. Owner friendly. Generally good facilities. Room needs upgrading - bathroom a bit small. Old style tv in room [and remote faulty] - not modern flat screen. Unable to access room until after 3pm. Room rate possibly a bit high. Not sure why notice states to return room key if you go out.
The manager was friendly and helpful. The ensuite shower was very good. Lovely setting. The hotel was very damp. The bed was small and uncomfortable and the rooms were dated. The bedroom was also damp. The ensuite was small and the toilet was possibly 90cm from the bed (although it was possible to shut the ensuite door) which wasn't ideal.
The accommodation was comfortable clean and airy with a view over the mountains. It was a brilliant weekend and I would reccommend it to anyone. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly as were the staff who waited on us in the dining room. The food was very tasty and nicely cooked and was served to us by a very friendly lady. We had a very enjoyable weekend.
Loved my room over looking the river & countryside, great to hear the birds tweet and the sheep barrrr in a morning. Had a nice evening meal and a few beers in the bar! Great for families and couples or like me on your own :-)
