Hotel is luxurious and comfortable
Location is out of old town.
Everything- The hotel is spotless, best bed we have had in three months of traveling using 4 and 5 star hotels and the location is perfect if you have a car. The views from the room were to die for. Overall a 10.
The Ariston Hotel belongs to the Importanne Hotels & Resorts. Because it was off-peak season, all the guests were apparently put in just two of the properties. I STAYED AT THE ROYAL BLUE INSTEAD OF THE ARISTON. The two hotels are attached to one another and share a reception, restaurant, breakfast area, and spa. The only thing I can’t rate is the room at the Ariston, but all other facilities would be the same. The resort is absolutely breathtaking!!! I was stunned by the view as soon as I stepped into the reception. The resort is situated 10 minutes away (by bus) from Old Town. The bus stop is right outside the door, 70 m to be exact, and leaves every 15-20 minutes. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was cleaned every day and the cleaners returned again each afternoon to check if I needed anything. The view from the balcony is heavenly. There are not enough words to describe it. The breakfast was okay, not amazing but also not horrible. They served complementary Prosecco as well, which I appreciated. The indoor pool in the spa was the perfect warm temperature.
I used the spa once and found it to be underwhelming. The sauna was quite small and could comfortably fit 4 people. This isn’t such a huge deal because I don’t think anyone visits Dubrovnik to sit in a sauna. As it is a luxury resort, it would be great if they offered a complimentary bottle of water everyday. Water isn’t expensive and the guests would highly appreciate it. The chair in my room had a lot of stains. Perhaps you could consider re-upholstering it or getting new chairs.
The hotel room was clean, the beds comfy.
We spent the night of New Year's Eve 2017 to 1-Jan 2018 in the Hotel Ariston. No single restaurant offering was available at the time of our arrival approx at 18:00 CET. We arrived after an eight hours travel and would have loved to eat at least a snack before going to town for celebration. But everything was closed. At the reception one staff member was on duty, and not really welcoming and friendly. The minibar did not contain champaign which is specifically noteworthy on a New Year's Eve. Upon arrival we had difficulty parking our car. My partner went to the reception to inquire whether there was a garage available for hotel guests, and the answer was no, we should park wherever we found a space.... The personnel at breakfast was not helpful, there were no coffee spoons available and no one who would bring us one... All in all, this hotel was a disappointing experience.
