Cons: The shower had not really warm water.
Pros: Excellent service. Very traditional style. The host will help you to organize everything for your trip to the national park. If you ask for super early breakfast before the walk they can do it for you.
Pros: The incredible view and the dedication of the staff
Cons: Too much cold during the night no windows !
Pros: Very friendly host, picked us up at 2 am in neighbouring village, because the bus did not go all the way to El Cocuy. Very helpful in organizing trekking.
Pros: The owner Juan Carlos and His Staff were very friendly. They did all the Organisation for us, especially the Tours and the booking of huts in the mountains and transports. Changing the dates of our bookings were No Problem. Check-out time could be extended until Bus departure easily. The hotel ist situated at a little nice place and has two Houses with small gardens, perfect to relax.
Pros: Beautiful old house. The patio is very welcoming to rest, have a drink or a meal. Very kindly people. Good price.
Cons: No heating and very fresh during the night. The mattress was like a plank of wood. WiFi unstable and weak depending the area. The food was ok the first night but I couldn't finish my plate the second one. I know it goes with the fact that you're in a small village but expect to notice the roosters scream starting at 5 am.

Pros: The room was clean and had plenty of blankets for the cold night. Staff were really friendly even though our communication was tough due to us not speaking Spanish well, but using Google translator we solved any questions we had! Breakfast was really nice and homely.
Pros: The Guy was very nice and there was a totally relaxed vibe.they had Birds and ducks and a little grass field. Looks nice and is nice.
Cons: The radio was on at close to 7 AM. We could hear it in the room.
Pros: The staff is absolutely amazing: always available and ready to help you. Besides, it's a kind of hostel: you can use the kitchen and keep some food in the fridge (ask first) and at the same time they clean your room daily and give you towels, soap and toilet paper.
Cons: Sometimes in the middle of the night they turn on the outside lights and if you're sensitive, the glow awakens you.
With a stay at Hotel Brisas del Nevado in Guican, you'll be just steps from Guican Church and Guican Square. Featured amenities include luggage storage and laundry facilities.
Pros: We ended up leaving our bags there to go trekking to the Sierra Nevada but never slept there. The owner was very accommodating and understanding. She understood it was better for us to stay in a cabana and never charged us additional fees.
Pros: The hotel is located near the Parque National Natural Cocuy, very convenient for having access to the park office and only 20km from a beautiful lookout to the Cocuy snow capped mountain range. The kitchen staff were pleasant and the owner was friendly.
Cons: We were disappointed with a few things. First, when we arrived, the room I had booked and confirmed on Booking.com was not available. The owner said she had tried to cancel our booking but it hadn’t worked. Instead of a double room with private bath (we assumed this meant bathroom adjoining the room) we were given a room with three single beds and a bathroom down the hall. Other guests used our “private” bathroom. When I had selected the room on booking.com, the price indicated was 70,000 pesos per night, but when we received confirmation, the price had increased. When I was checking out, the owner tried to charge us for three nights, although we had only stayed two. She insisted we had arrived on January 2nd, but we had arrived on the 3rd. She had recorded the wrong date. In the end, she agreed not to charge us for her error and charged us the price we expected. The other issue was meals: breakfasts were fine, but for dinner, my husband didn’t receive what he ordered and had to wait an extra half an hour. To make that worse, when checking out, we realized the price for dinner was 30,000 pesos each, which was at least double the local price. In addition, we asked ahead of time if we could have a secure space for our bicycles. When we arrived, we were told we could leave them in a backyard with no roof, which is risky if there is any rain. Instead, we had to carry our bikes up a narrow staircase and keep them in our tiny room. We are highly seasoned travellers in Colombia and have never had such a disappointing hotel experience.
Pros: we arrived at 2 a.m. and we were immediately welcomed and made to feel at home. the hostess was expecting us and did not complain about the late hour. many thanks.
Pros: The woman who runs the hotel and restaurant is warm and welcoming. And whips up a hearty meal!
Cons: The building is a little dated and the bathrooms a little worn down. A few small insects on the floors are not uncommon, but probably still the best place in Guican!
Pros: Lovely staff, cosy rooms, good location near the centre of town & loads of delicious filling meals! Good wifi.
