Cons: Te staff at the restorant was extremely slow: we had to wait and to ask few times to get some food and drinks.
Pros: Really nice rooms, comfortable beds, good shower, good breakfast, dinner was good also. Great location to go around all beautiful sights such as Trollstigen and Geiranger Fjord and it's surroundings.
Pros: Location, parking, views, room.
Cons: The breakfast may be better for this price.
Cons: Nice location. Nice and friendly staff
Pros: Breakfast! Great beds!
Pros: The location of the hotel is fantastic. You can find the peace with view of fyord. The staff was very friendly. They have informed us very well about the area. We had dinner at the hotel. The service was quite good and the food was very delicious.
Pros: The fast check in, the cleaness of the room and bathroo, the view from the room, the location and breakfast
Cons: The towels in the bathroom are over used and feel cheap
Pros: The best view. Loved the rooms and the balcony. The only thing that there no ac. It eas hot so we had to sleep with the back door open. The stuff asured us that it is safe. Breakfast was very good a lot of varity and tasty. Great stuff that answerd all of our questions . Highly recomended
Located in Stryn, Hjelle Hotel is by the sea, a 1-minute drive from Jostedalsbreen National Park and 6 minutes from Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The location and specifically the beautiful scenery around this hotel is hard to beat, this was one of the nicest views we had from our room ever! Great breakfast in a nice room with perfect view of the lake and mountains. Friendly staff. They have a row boat that guests can take out in the lake for free which was a really nice touch.
Cons: Bathrooms could use some updating, but everything worked fine. The room was quite warm (no AC).
Pros: The host/owner was incredibly nice and informative, providing us with a booklet about walks/activities one could do in the area. The location was perfect—right by the water, watched over by beautiful mountains, and within short driving distance of Loen and Geiranger. The property itself is an old house with much charm and a homey feel. Breakfast was delicious, with lots of options and quality items. Free coffee was available for guests at any time at reception.
Cons: The room was a tad claustrophobic, with the double bed taking up most of the space and not allowing much for bags/luggage. We were also there during a heat wave, so the lack of AC or fans/ventilation made for a stuffy room until the sun went down.
Pros: This was a beautiful little pit stop and wished we had booked more time as would have been a perfect spot to just rest and relax for a day. The area/town is small and quiet. We had a room with balcony that looked directly over the water and was just magic. The staff were extremely friendly. Breakfast was good. Highly recommend.
Pros: This is a superb hotel in an excellent location with lovely friendly staff and great food. You really feel you are in authentic Norway. Stay at least 2 nights to appreciate the hotel and its surroundings.
Pros: Cute design and decor and a convenient location. The breakfast was also excellent.
Pros: Brilliant location, great food, clean comfortable accommodation.
Pros: Lovely family run hotel on the banks of the most beautiful coloured fjord. Clean and comfortable. Liked the personal touch from the owner. Great little tea shop in the grounds which served the perfect afternoon tea!
Pros: Fantastic location and staff. The room was perfect for what we needed with beautiful views. We had dinner at the restaurant and really enjoyed it. Would highly recommend this place. It was the best. Thank you.
Pros: A really lovely stay. Lovely room, nice lounge area. We had the evening meal which was also first class. Staff were very friendly.
Pros: fantastic location next to lake.Very peaceful.
Located in Stryn, Vollsnes Feriehus is a 2-minute drive from Jostedalsbreen National Park and 6 minutes from Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Cons: Did have any toiletries .
Pros: Once you step out of the apartment, you will find a quite nice outdoor seating with great views of the lake. So, if the weather is good, you might actually still have a good time here.
Cons: We came with high expectations to this apartment. Partly because the internet presence shows mainly the few chalets at the lakefront. Yet, this apartment is not close to the lakefront and can certainly not be described as superior. It is dark, small and feels like a cellar. Beds are narrow (feels like 70 cm at the top, 140 cm for the lower one) and uncomfortable. Living room chairs feel very old and the view is simply not there. Somehow the online pictures gave a wrong impression. This is then topped by the fact that you receive exactly one dishwasher tab per day and wireless internet was not working... Worst place to stay in our three week vacation in Norway, but certainly not the least expensive.
Pros: Great location.
Cons: Not worth the money. Rooms are way too small. Shower leaked all over the floor. Pictures on website are very misleading to reality.
Pros: 1. Kitchen was small but relatively equipped with kitchenwares. 2. Guest shall make sure to rent the suitable apartment and not relays on photos. 3. Helpful staff/owner.
Cons: 1. It is the basement of a house. 2. Small for family with 2 adults and 2 children. 3. Price is high in comparison to the property facilities.
Pros: Location, host, very clean, relaxing. Just on the lakeside. Perfect for rest.
Cons: Rooms were very small
Pros: The location is stunning. The facilities are great, everything that you may need is there. Kari Ann was super helpful with our questions. It was a great stay and we only wish we stayed one more day.
Cons: Stay was absolutely perfect.
Pros: The place was amazing, the apartment was nice, I would recommend it to anyone
Pros: We were supposed to stay on a house on the water, but when we arrived, we were told we’d have to stay in the owner’s house on the hill above the water. The owner’s house is nice, but it’s not a house directly on the water like we were expecting. This completely changed our vacation experience. We were planning on watching our children play in a beautiful lake with views of the mountains, but instead our kids spent the whole time on their devices. We were extremely disappointed and feel like the property engaged in a bait and switch scam: baiting us with the nice water front house, then switching us at the last minute for a completely different house.
Cons: It wasn’t located on the water, as is shown in the photos. The house that is located on the water is not a single family house, it is a tri-plex. So no matter what you do, you don’t have a water front house on the lake to yourself.
When you stay at Hotel Union Geiranger Bad & Spa in Geiranger, you'll be on the waterfront, just steps from Geirangerfjord and Fossevandring Geiranger. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 5 meeting rooms available for events.
Pros: Excellent location , beautiful view , great facility
Cons: For the price you pay they could have personnel to help you with your luggage . They advertise laundry service the only thing available is a washing machine , again for that price they should have a laundry service available , not necessarily a dry cleaning service but at least a laundry service
Pros: The buffet was surprisingly nice
Cons: The spa was all reserved!
Pros: Nice pool and hot tub facilities. Great breakfast. Helpful staff but not super friendly. Dinner at the Boston was excellent.
Cons: Was a mild day but the room felt like an oven when we arrived. Took some time to get the help we needed to cool the room. Towels for the pool area are given out at the spa reception but no one there when we went and no clear signage to that effect. After showering and completely wet found a spa/pool attendant and asked where to get towels. Brusquely told at reception. Had to walk back out through the lockers to carpeted reception area and ask another guest to grab a couple towels for us. Why not just keep them in the changing rooms?
Cons: They treat their guests like they are doing us a favor. Absolutely worse service I’ve ever experienced in Norway during my trip and among the worst I’ve experienced in my travels. Hotel and location is great but there is no customer service period.
Pros: The location of the hotel and the view from the room and from the dining room
Cons: Everthing was great
Pros: Breathtaking scenery, friendly efficient staff. Fantastic breakfast with a great variety of freshly made food. One of the best hotels we have ever visited.
Pros: Everything is magical here - people and landscape. Enjoyed every moment spent in Geiranger.
Pros: The hotel has a lot of history which is very interesting and the collection of old cars was amazing. The staff were exceptionally kind and caring, nothing was too much trouble to them and they made our stay a most enjoyable experience. The views from the rooms and terraces were amazing and the position excellent.
Pros: Great Location, great staff
Pros: Location was okay
Cons: Room was old and worn out, bathroom very small and not clean. No highlights at all, except the price!
Cons: For 3000kr a night, , the spa should be included
8.6 Excellent (736 reviews)
With a stay at Hotell Utsikten Geiranger - By Classic Norway Hotels in Geiranger, you'll be within a 5-minute drive of Geirangerfjord and Flydalsjuvet. Featured amenities include luggage storage and coffee/tea in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Wonderful location , breakfast And the staff was very helpful
Pros: location people
Cons: the people where very nice
Pros: Super friendly and helpful personnel at the reception. Arrived late, but parking space for the car was arranged in a minute. Good advice given for short hikes in the neighbourhood. Very good fish soup for dinner. Super good breakfast with local products and extra delicious stuff like smoothies, berry jams - and that lemon-ginger-chili-shot chased my flu away!
Pros: Location was phenomenal, view was fantastic, staff was friendly and helpful, dinner and breakfast were very good.
Cons: Liked everything.
Pros: Great view of Geiranger. Very helpful staff. Excellent breakfast and dinner. Clean rooms.
Cons: No A/C. Rooms are very basic, furnishings are old fashioned. Rooms a bit small.
Pros: The view from my room. I booked a fjord view room and was not disappointed. The lady staff who checked us in was very friendly and approachable. She even helped us booked the fjord cruise.
Cons: There was no lift in the property to go to upper floors. In room, there’s only coffee machine, if need tea, need to go reception to get it.
Pros: Incredible unbeatable view, great food and lovely staff. Loved it there and loved the history
Pros: It was our 40th anniversary. We had a fjord view and we dined at is location. This, at the end of our ferry ride, is my top pick of our 18 days in Norway. If you can only do one thing thing in Norway...fly to Bergen rent a car and travel to Hellesylt. Take the ferry to Geiranger. And stay at Hotel Utsikten. Get the fjord view suite. Dine at their restaurant. order the Cod dinner with Riesling von Winning and finish with the cheesecake. We shared a piece. Takk for vår førsteklasses opplevelse!
Cons: We shared the piece of cheesecake!! lol
Pros: The views
Pros: Excellent location for Geiranger cruise, Trollroad and Dalsnibba, I suppose this would justify the price Nice view towards the fjord Breakfast ok
Cons: Very small room, ridiculous small bathroom We were asked to pay a fee for our daughter per night for an extra-bed breakfast included. Upon our arrival the extra-bed was unfolded because there was not enough room to open it (never seen this during our trips). The manager came and suggested to take out some pieces of furniture (ex. armchairs) to try to install the bed. Finally, the extra-bed was removed because of the small size of the room. The manager suggested some reimbursement because of the inconvenience. On the check-out we asked about that, the manager didn’t bother to come and talk to us, she/he sent the person from the reception desk to tell us that the extra fee was for our daughter’s breakfast not for the night. We booked 7 hotels during our trip in Norway, some of them asked us for a fee for an extra-bed (already installed in the room), others didn’t ask for an extra-fee and our daughter shared the double bed (in one hotel the room was also too small for an extra-bed so they didn’t add it and didn’t ask for an extra-fee). I suggest to Utsikten hotel to be honest from the start about room space and conditions. It’s not only for the money (the rooms are already too expensive) but for customers satisfaction. Other that that we were told by Thon hotel in Stavanger that in Norway for security reasons it’s forbidden to have three people or more in a room for two, so I’m not sure if these rules are followed in all the hotels. At 9:00 empty plates were not replaced, so limited choice of food Last morning around 9:00 we were 5 tables to eat cereals but there were no large spoons, I was told to use the spoons from cereals and grains jars, other people were using coffee spoons Not enough parking space No lift and difficult access for people with disabilities
Jordbærstova Feriehus offers accommodation in Valldal. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Free WiFi is provided throughout the property and free private parking is available on site. Each room has a shared bathroom. There is a shared kitchen at the property. The nearest airport is Årø Airport, 47 km from Jordbærstova Feriehus.
Pros: The food was lovely and fresh - simple but delicious. The staff were very friendly and kind.
Cons: Other guests were noisy clumping up and down , opening and closing squeaky doors at 6.30 am and woke me up. Could also hear them snoring through the wall .
Pros: Friendly staff great breakfast and dinner.
Pros: The house with the rental rooms is a spare house with shared kitchen, living room and bathroom. Room was rather small, but clean and equipped with everything needed. Wifi was ok. Breakfast was great, esp. the fresh strawberry mouse was marvelous. It all worked really well even with our 1 and 4 year old kids.
Cons: We had bad luck with the weather, but were happy to have a roof over our head that day. Unfortunately there is really not much around the house, so you need to drive to get anywhere. Wifi conncetivity was limited in our room. Some other weird guests, but that doesn't mean the owners.
Pros: The house is spacious and cosy
Pros: I just love the place. Just besides the road, clean house. They have restaurant there. Breakfast provided unexpectedly good. I love the strawberry cake. Recommended.
Cons: The ground floor of the house a bit creepy. Lol
Pros: The owners were so incredibly accommodating and friendly! The room was also spotless with everything you need.
Pros: Excellent service by the staff. Flexible arrival time. Very comfortable beds and very good breakfast included.
Pros: Very charming and clean Good location close to Trollstigen and Geiranger
Cons: Bit expensive considering lack of own bathroom and breakfast which was good, but which did not have much variety
Pros: We could use the modern kitchen which was great. Bedroom on first floor was small and nice - and the shared bathroom fine. Breakfast was average - with strawberries in the season
Pros: The staff were awesome. This is a lovely place with great food. They will cook for you even if the restaurant is closed.
With spectacular views of the Geiranger Fjord and its surrounding mountains, Westerås Gard offers an in-house restaurant and accommodation options with private kitchen facilities. Central Geiranger is 4 km away. All accommodation options have a TV, sofa and a private bathroom with shower. Apartments and cottages have a private terrace. The in-house restaurant is set in a 17th-century barn building, and offers meals and panoramic views of Geiranger. Meals can be enjoyed on the terrace in nice weather. Storseterfossen Waterfall, a waterfall you can walk behind, is a 45-minute hike from the family-owned Westerås Gard.
Pros: The location is perfect if you're coming to Geiranger. It is in the hills above the town, about a 10 minute drive (because the roads have to climb the hill). The view is beautiful and the farm serves as the starting point for some of the local hikes, so you can literally start hiking from your front door.
Cons: We had both a two-bedroom apartment and a separate twin room, and the former was fine but the twin room could do with a much, much more comfortable bed. No internet and three television channels: no-one comes here to stay inside, so that might not seem like a problem, but if you want to dig up information on something to do, or if you're tired after hiking, internet access can be a big deal (it is technically possible to access wireless from the restaurant, but it works very poorly; so the alternative is to drive down into town, which is not a long way, but a pain to do just to look up some information).
Pros: Lovely place near enough to Geiranger yet private for families. Reception was very friendly and pleasant.
Cons: No access to WiFi.
Pros: Location of this hotel is unique and views from here are incredible. The apartment where we stayed was cozy and had all required facilities
Cons: 3 problems: 1. Last 1km of the road is scary, narrow unpaved road on the border of slope, without any fence. And it becomes a big problem if you meet counter going car here. Thankfully this doesn't happen much. (we had this problem once in our 3 night stay). This is mostly just a warning, travelers need to know what to expect :) 2. Apartment inside is tiny. Ceilings are low. We felt like we are in a hobbit hut. 3. Hot water is coming from their own boiler. One morning I had to wash in ice-cold shower because our lovely neighbors got up earlier and used out all hot water. And it takes several hours to get warm again. So please be careful and don't use too much.
Pros: the location, host, view, neighborhood, pretty much everything was excellent.
Pros: The view and being away from the tourist centre below.
Cons: Checkin, having to go back to get linen package.
Pros: Nice view and quiet place away from town. Many trekking paths starting from the property. Also quite close to a big waterfall
Cons: The property was not as rustic as expected. Also Found it a bit overpriced compared to the facilities offered. We have to buy the bed linen, which was already mentioned. but when you stay only for a day, pitting the bed up itself is a big chore :(
Pros: Lovely location away from the touristy town center
Pros: Location , the farm (kids really enjoyed goats/ alpaca), and a rustic touch to the cabins/furnishings/ utensils and everything. Even the roof cabins had grass on it. Very Norwegian.
Cons: Nothing much to hate. May be something could be done to controls the spiders/ webs and insects in the cabin.
Pros: Wonderful location with fantastic views. Next to hikes into the mountains.
Pros: Beautiful locations but a little bit out of town (2km up the hill). Once you get here you are close to several hiking trails to the vista point and the waterfall. The owners are gracious and try to be very helpful.
Offering a restaurant with home-made cuisine, Petrines Gjestgiveri is located in Norddal. This hotel offers simple rooms or a self-catering apartment with views of the fjord. At Petrines Gjestgiveri you will find a garden and barbecue facilities. Other amenities offered at the property include a shared lounge, tour desk and bicycle rentals. An array of activities can be enjoyed on site or in the surroundings, including canoeing, fishing and hiking. Stranda Ski Resort is 28 km away from the hotel. Ørnesvingen is 22 km away, while Trollstigen is 48 km away. Ålesund, Vigra Airport is 102 km away. There is a ferry terminal in the neighbouring village, Eidsdal just 4 km away which can connect to other regional attractions.
Pros: Norddal is the loveliest little village within short driving distance of great hikes, refreshing bodies of water for the hotter summer days, Herdalssetra, and a ferry. The property is charming, room is homey, and breakfast is tasty. It is located right by a rushing river which can be heard constantly—this was good for us as it provided some white noise for a comfortable night’s sleep.
Cons: We didn’t actually meet the host/owner while we were there, and were only in contact with a soft spoken young girl who didn’t seem to have much experience checking guests in. We didn’t feel like we had anyone to ask questions/get advice about the area. Dinner was also a tad questionable, especially for the price. The “deer burger” we ordered was actually just a few meatballs placed between two untoasted slices of regular bread...
Pros: The location is peaceful and beautiful.
Pros: good breakfast. good opportunities to hike in the valley. close to other nice fjord locations.
Cons: staff seemed stretched. hire more staff and pay them well.
Pros: Good location
Pros: Quiet and peaceful, large room with great view and sound of nearby river.
Cons: Property was good but would have been nice to have a refrigerator.
Pros: Comfy room n a great location.
Pros: Cost atmosphere. Country style but very nice
Cons: We paid full price for a stay at the Petrines and they stuck us in some hostel down the road. The bathrooms were gross. Stains on the furniture. I don’t usually complain, but this is our honeymoon and we’ve been spoiling ourselves all over Norway. This was a disaster at Clarion prices. If we’d wanted to rough it, we’d have chosen a place a 3rd the price. No meals included, though we still paid for them. There wasn’t even staff available to check in or out. If your hotel is not open year round, don’t keep it listed, please. This was a sad disappointment for us in the middle of an otherwise magical trip. I hope this review will prevent other couples from making the same mistake we did.
Pros: Hotel is very cozy. Staff is friendly and helpful. It felt like we spent a day at grandmas house in the village.
Cons: Food in the restaurant was great however quite expensive. I guess they can afford it while being the only place in the town.
Pros: The town where the hotel is located is just lovely, and truly off the beaten track. The room was nice.
Cons: No tea available in the room, and it was difficult to understand if we had to pay for it if we took some downstairs in the lobby. No tissues and for the price we payed we felt these should have been available. The dinner's only offer is goat's meat....and since there is no where else to eat, this may not be a appropriate choice for everyone. Certainly, we would have preferred something else.
Located in Norddal, Fjellro Turisthotell is by the sea, within a 5-minute walk of Sylte Harbour and Valldal Tourist Information Center. Featured amenities include a business center, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and multilingual staff. Event facilities at this hotel consist of a conference center and a meeting room. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: What a great hotel. Helpful staff, good dinner and breakfast choice. 2 min walk to the front.
Pros: Cute family-run hotel in a really lovely setting. Staff were very friendly and helpful & gave local tips too. Rooms were comfortable and had everything we needed. Food at restaurant and breakfast was also delicious! Would definitely stay there again.
Pros: Lovely 100 year old property under a steep wooded cliff. Right on the scenic travel route in a small town famous for its summer fruit. Very good size family room. Quiet at night. Curtains
Cons: Large groups stay overnight which can make breakfast less relaxed.
Pros: Location is good. Free parking.
Cons: Price... overpriced for its value. Rooms very simple and only twin beds available. feels like students quarters. No AC. be aware, peak summer visitors. breakfast ok, not more.
Pros: The hotel has a restaurant that provides excellent food! Try the elk and you won’t be disappointed. Besides, The garden is lovely and the staff is helpful.
Cons: The breakfast could be better.
Pros: Great location. The hotel is a little tired and needs some attention. Accommodation was OK.
Cons: Staff were not very interactive.
Pros: Nice location Reasonable breakfast
Cons: Old rooms, separate beds, not comfortable
Pros: Great fish restaurant for dinner and good breakfast selection.
Pros: Nice room, nice outdoor area at hotel, and within walking distance of the beautiful fjord.
Pros: Super hotel with open air bar and great breakfast.
Located in Stryn, Folven Adventure Camp is a 5-minute drive from Jostedalsbreen National Park and 9 minutes from Jostedalsbreen National Park Centre. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Convenient location close to many scenic sights. The cabin was equipped with a private kitchenette and bathroom, which was very convenient (shared bathrooms and kitchen were also available on the property). Bed linens and towels were available for approximately 150 NOK per person.
Pros: I can not recommend this property
Cons: It was not as described on their and your website wifi was non existent there was no water at all in the cabin making it extremely difficult to even make a cup of tea or coffee never mind the cleaning up
Pros: Check-in was fast and efficient. Lots of space for children to play.
Cons: Only one small window in the cabin so difficult to get any cool air (was there during abnormally warm day though)
Pros: Stuning view, calm and comfterble
Pros: I liked the personel.
Cons: Very small and not-comfortable house (hytta). Very small rooms with too many beds and almost no windows. It was smelly in the bathroom. Price was one ofthe highest for the house in Norway. I do not recommend this camping !
Pros: Location. Nothing else
Cons: Few showers and toilets. Old and run down cabins
Pros: Very nice neighborhood, helpful staff, there is a shop and a gas station, and charging cars
Cons: Accommodation in a low standard, especially the bathroom. Loud music from the object's speakers.
Cons: Too old and small rom
Pros: A perfect location - couldn't imagine how picturesque it appeared. General facilities are okay. A company of different people all over the world.
Cons: Not enough equipment in the house for food. Expensive beer:)
With a stay at Hotel Videseter in Stryn, you'll be 2.5 mi (4 km) from Stryn Sommerski and 8.7 mi (14 km) from Jostedalsbreen National Park. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Its nice place for Panorama Viewing
Cons: Its nice place for Panorama Viewing and ski activity
Pros: Wonderful host, spectacular view, very nice room (with view) and good, fresh food on buffet. I visited this place 50 years ago and chose it for my 65th birthday due to the location. It was a great choice--close to beautiful Lake Stryn, Geirangerfjord, Hellsylt ferry.
Cons: Definitely avoid the bar! The beer cost 98kr, and the cola cost 58kr (both 0,3l) We questioned the guy in the bar about the prize, to which he responded with it being the local beer. Which makes no sense as it was served in Hansa glasses? Also, why would the cola be so expensive then?
Pros: View from room over the valley
Cons: Old room, outdated furniture. Equipment like electricity felt not being save!
Pros: The setting and views were unbelievable and the hotel very atmospheric.
Pros: The charm and remoteness of the place, its individuality and character. The owner is a great, friendly, and helpful man!
Cons: Nothing. Everything was good
Pros: we had a very frustrating experience and would just like to forget it. thats all.
Cons: room, food, service
Pros: Floor heating in the bathroom made the whole stay there for us :). View from the room was amazing.
Cons: Room seemed a bit old (especially the beds). Breakfast was mediocre.
Pros: The location is unbelievably good. Per, the manager and the staff are very friendly and always willing to help. Room 216 where we stayed for three nights is big and comfortable and with a great view. Per's suggestions on what to do, his knowledge of the area and the history of the hotel made our stay memorable.
Cons: I would like more variation in the dinner buffet
When you stay at Solfjord in Norddal, you'll be by the sea, just steps from Solfjord Activity Centre and 10 minutes by foot from Eidsdal Ferry Terminal. Featured amenities include express check-out, dry cleaning/laundry services, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: The staff was friendly, when you could find her
Cons: Very dirty, no hot water for shower and no information about it so you only knew when you were already in the shower, shower head broken, uncomfortable bed, fridge in the room not working, rolls at breakfast not fully baked, lamp in the women's toilet broken, overall an overpriced and unpleasant stay
Cons: Tv did not work, the room, bathroom could have been cleaner, a good morning at breakfast from hotel staff would have been nice, some labels that show which is the bathroom with more showers in it. A desk in the room and a nightstand, a painting of the walls, etc would have been nice. It was basically quite disorganized, but was enough for one night.
Pros: Right on the road.
Cons: Staff was positive, a Young girl, but the Place was grossly understaffed. Location close to the town center, but som much could be done to improve the facilities.
Pros: Breakfast good
Cons: Shower facilities shared with mem women whole place. No where to put belongings in cubicles. 1 hour wait for dinner. Accom rudimentary.
Pros: Its near to the jford and the breakfast was good. Its just a B&B with shared bathroom.
Cons: Its a bit over priced, not value for money. One of the two toilet door was not locking (only 2 of them available).
Pros: It is the ladies running this place that made it tolerable. They prepare a wonderful breakfast. Below is why it gets a low rating from us.
Cons: Our “cottage” was a shed! Our room was over a manhole covered w/ outdoor carpeting that smelled of wet dirty socks. You’d be better off in a tent. We of course asked to be moved but all the rooms were booked as this is high season and none of the hotels in the area had room for our dates by the time we saw what we had booked at this site.
Cons: Terrible place! Extremely far away from everything! No help to get from the staff. Pictures shows something, and in reality is something else. Its showing pictures of a kitchen, and its saying you get breakfast. Breakfast is very bad. Overall extremely pricy for the place
Cons: No hot water in the shower. Crappy breakfast. Felt more like a hostel instead of bed and breakfast. Price was far to high.
Pros: The Staff was super friendly and helpful. The beds were just okay. The restaurant wasnt really like a restaurant, more like a canteen. Nonetheless, we had a lovely dinner there! Location was brilliant, we even went to fish at the harbour!
Cons: Room was cheaply constructed, beds were making noises. Not very comfortable but did it for one night. There was not enough of staff, only 3 ladies for the whole hotel! That's not normal in my eyes as they simply cant do everything when hotel is this full. I felt bad for them as they couldnt attend all clients and people were giving looks. Please get more staff on busy seasons! This place is soooooo overpriced is unbelievable but we needed something in this location so we had no choice. Breakfast was also disappointing. They only had couple of things for sandwiches and boiled eggs. You cant simply call it continental breakfast... Very Very disappointing overall! If not staff, I'd rate this place much much less!
Cons: We booked our stay at Solfjord from 16th July to 17th July. I have called the reception to find the check-in times. When I called the reception, he did not respond properly and mentioned we booked from 15th to 16th, although we have a valid reservation. He did a mistake in his ledger and saying that we do not have a place to stay and said we contacted wrong place. After that I called booking.com to get a the proper confirmation. When I tried to call again, he did not pick my call. After several attempts he finally picked and said fine to come. By the time we reach the place after 7 hours long drive, he told us the place is over booked and there is no place to stay. He was suggesting to stay at a caravan. We did not agree to that option. He later suggested to Isfjorden which is 2 hours drive (however he lied and told that is just a hour drive.). We did not agree to that option also. The he gave a option of another room. I paid for the room. Later, we figured it that the room does not got a key to lock. He knows it. But he did not tell us. He lied to us. When we confronted, he said take this or leave. We do not got any other option to stay. We were not happy with the options we got and the amount we paid. Then he called some one and arranged some hostel, a small room (four people can barely fit in that place). We went there to have a look at that place. By the time, we came the guy at the reception left the place. With no other option, We took that place, since we felt more secure. We have travelled many places and stayed different places. This one was really the most worst experience. I want the place to be back-listed and I want a proper explanation from booking.com for this utterly bad experience we made our travel experience the worst. I would like booking.com to come back to me with a proper explanation. Last but not the least, he denied us a place to stay. However, guests who came later to us was given a place. This show the racist behaviour towards us
