When you stay at The First Colony Inn in Nags Head, you'll be by the ocean, within a 15-minute drive of Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jennette's Pier. Featured amenities include a business center, express check-in, and express check-out. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Beautiful, lots of things to do and a nice clean pool! Free buffet breakfast. Extremely helpful staff! Will stay here again!!
Pros: Everything! Classy and beautiful.. was a vacation unto itself
Cons: Leaving it
Pros: this is an historic Nags Head hotel set in generous and beautifully landscaped grounds. perfect and minutes from everything
Pros: Good location. Easy access and free parking. Like the history of the building. They offer what you might need to hit the beach. Extras on second floor are a bonus.
Cons: Small breakfast room. Our room had a smallish TV. Felt odd having a full size window in the bathroom.
Pros: The style was awesome, traditional. Very clean, neat & interesting. Old style building that has been well maintained. Cant wait to go back.
Cons: Everything about it was great. Personally think a Hot tub would be a great addition. and may be a fire bowl on the deck or fire pit in the yard for colder evenings. For our taste the evening social could be scheduled a little later. But awesome as is.
Pros: Great location, staff, private beach access really had a great time!
Cons: Only downside was “free wi fi” we were on third floor and couldn’t stay connected. Fix that and would rate the place 100 percent.
Pros: Great location Wonderful staff Comfortable rooms
Cons: Breakfast was ok but not great Room 1 has mini TV
Pros: Easy beach access, beautiful gardens, pool, restaurant. The staff was hardworking and super nice!
Cons: My room sounded like water was always running. You could hear all of the street traffic. I’m a very light sleeper and forgot my earplugs. Couldn’t really sleep.
Pros: Super charming hotel. Location is lovely and gardens around the hotel are novel and beautiful. THe rooms are nicely decorated. Glad they have wines and things for sale.
Cons: Breakfast was ok but the orange juice seemed to be spoiled and the choices of food were somewhat narrow. My wife has celiac and we could not be sure of what she could eat. The bed was a bit squeeky which while charming, made us a little self conscious.
Pros: Very nice location. The walk across the street was not bad as the beach in that area was not very crowded. Nice proximity to shops and activities. Inn was well stocked with amenities like bikes, Beach chairs, umbrellas, towels and other great things to make the stay enjoyable. So easy that you can simply show up with your sunscreen and swim suit and the rest is covered! Really enjoyed that!
Cons: There were little things that I feel the inn could do better to improve, but the one thing I would want to see improve are the breakfast arrangements. The dining area is extremely small for the amount of guests and the quality of food was par at best. This honestly was probably the only real let down for us.
Pros: Quaint and charming.
Cons: The bed squeaked every time someone moved. Not cool.
Pros: It was excellent the staff was very friendly and accommodating! Breakfast everyday was great
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
Oasis Suites Hotel is located in Nags Head, NC on the Outer Banks. Each room at this hotel is air conditioned and has a TV. Each room comes with a private bathroom equipped with a bath and shower. A living area and kitchen is also provided. Rooms also feature a balcony and a jetted tub.
Pros: Close to beach but still could be away from the crowd
Cons: Clean.. kids could fish
Pros: Loved the views, room, and staff
Cons: Wish we would’ve had an extra bathroom
Pros: Beautiful view and spacious. However balcony area had a lot of spider webs and small critters. TV in the bed room was turned down really low with no ability to increase sound.
Cons: a little dated and the washer and dryer were outside room, not closed in . since walls thin could hear them running and people talking most of the night
Pros: Great location, large and clean room, nice staffs. The deck is beautiful. Great serve of dinner on July 4th night.
Cons: Nothing I didn't like, will be my first choice of outerbanks hotel in the future.
Pros: Everything well done, nice view overlooking the bay, clean room, good service, nice pool as well!
Pros: Beautiful, clean and in a great location. The General Manager Beverly was very helpful and friendly as was other staff.
Cons: Only suggestion, not a complaint. Our balcony could have used a small table to set our coffee/drinks on.
Pros: Great place to stay. Very friendly staff. Very clean. Had a kitchenette. Balconies in every room with great views. The mgr. Beverly was very helpful, friendly and personable. Yes, I will stay here again!
Pros: Nice location on the sound -- expected to be on the ocean. Suites themselves were nice and beautiful view
Cons: Staff at desk randomly Internet also random -- did not work most of the time. TV also a bit obsolete We checked out early due to family emergency and have not been given any rebate consideration
Pros: It was a very clean hotel, and we loved our stay.
Pros: Cleanliness. Loved the views. Friendly staff
When you stay at Shutters on the Banks in Kill Devil Hills, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jennette's Pier. Featured amenities include a business center, a 24-hour front desk, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Close to the beach and easier to find.
Cons: There was a wet smell in my room. Other than that, it was fine.
Cons: No elevator, parking and no view
Pros: The room was ready prior to check in time. Staff was super friendly. Beds were super comfy!
Cons: The cleaning lady wasn’t very friendly!
Pros: Private beach access with outdoor showers
Cons: Bugs in the room, small bathroom, poor view
Pros: Great location! Friendly staff! This was our first time to outer banks and we loved our stay. The pools and beautiful beach were excellent. With young kids the efficiency room was the way to go.
Cons: Our booking said pool view but we had a view of a wall. Ended up being completely satisfied with it in the end though because with young kids it was nice to be away from the noise.
Pros: The Bed were very comfortable
Pros: That the beach was so close
Cons: You could hear your neighbors at time. Especially our one neighbor who was coughing a lot during the night.
Pros: Breakfast was great!
Cons: We didn’t like the pillows on the beds.
Pros: We enjoyed how small the hotel grounds are - the ice, laundry, pool, front desk, etc are all very short walks, as is the beach! Also a great location in general.
Cons: The breakfast was pretty typical for a “continental” breakfast, but we didn’t want to force down powdered eggs. Try Miller’s Steakhouse for breakfast right down the street.
Pros: The complimentary breakfast was great, offered a wide variety. The private beach access was incredible, and they do have a shower located at the private beach entrance which made it nice to not have to much sand tracked into the rooms.
Cons: Just a preference but the beds were a bit hard.. the first night me and my partner stayed i woke up the next morning with a stiff neck. They do offer microwaves in the dune/ocean view rooms but didn't have that listed as an amenity. So we packed as such and were quite annoyed to find one in the room.( not sure about the cheaper rooms...)
Cons: Stayed in corner room which had bugs crawling outside room. Sent email to property management after our stay to which they said it comes from light but those were not from lights as they crawled from floor and closed shutter outside our room.
Pros: The location to the beach was fantastic ! The two pools along with availability was excellent ! You’re right in the middle of all locations you’d like to see, and restaurants available to eat at !
Cons: The manager of the property when spoken with was coarse. We wanted to purchase a picture that was advertised as being available: we stayed for 6 days. We requested it one night into our trip as well fell in love! We were told rudely it wasn’t available and we were being offered a variation. We denied as it wasn’t what we wanted, and was offered. The night of our last we were offered the photo, “but dinged up.” I am still so very disappointed, and upset by the managers treatment. This wasn’t my first hotel stay ever, matter of fact: my 6th this year alone, and her manners were disheartening, for a better end hotel.

Pros: Convenient, right on the beach, great vantage point for the fireworks at the Pier.
Cons: No outdoor pool.
Pros: We enjoyed a full breakfast with so many choices and all was good and plentiful. The seating was comfortable and the view outside along the walls was relaxing too. It was nice to have a TV too.
Cons: no complaints
Pros: The staff at the breakfast did an outstanding job
Cons: Slow elevators
Pros: Updated look.
Pros: The view and the great customer service.
Cons: The breakfast service was chaotic and there were not as many options as last year.
Pros: Staff. Bed. Shower. Access to beach. Breakfast
Cons: Everything was terrific. We are going back in 3 weeks
Pros: Bed was like a cloud.
Cons: Did not like the eggs and breakfast hours should be extended to 10am.
Pros: Well I like everything location, staff everything.
Pros: Great place to stay
Pros: That it was close to the beach and the people there was friendly
Cons: Not everyone was friendly and welcoming
Cons: The breakfast bar was not good. So we avoided the bar and went out for breakfast.
Pros: The bed and pillows were super duper comfy. Appreciated the single Keurig Brewing System with a handful of K-Cup options. It's in a great part of town since it's far enough away from the shops and the dining but close enough as well. It makes for a very peaceful and quiet beach experience.
Cons: I didn't like that you have to be an IHG reward member to be given late check-out. It would have been better to have sliding glass doors that go out to a patio instead of one large heavy door. Also the parking lot is inevitably part of your view since the hotel rooms sit above it. The ocean view is best if you are on the 3rd 4th or 5th floor. First two are mostly parking lot views

Pros: Friendly staff, clean room & lobby area and great location.
Pros: Great location! Its the fourth time I'm staying there, whatever reason all four times to get a handicap room, very expensive for what I get. Decided this time will not go back.
Cons: Handicap rooms which I did not mean smell.
Pros: Always a great stay, property has a great location and is kept well.
Pros: Housekeeping was excellent and the staff was very friendly
Pros: All the staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Balcony could use a wipe down prior to each stay.
Pros: I like the workout room on the property. The equipment was professional grade and I enjoyed using the Bosu and the TV there. I was able to get the type of work out that I wanted to do with the equipment that was there. All of the staff was friendly and helpful. The housekeeping staff was friendly and unobtrusive.
Cons: The room was not an oceanfront room and the room did not have a jacuzzi.
Pros: Friendly staff. Outdoor pool was awesome. Loved being right on the beach with pier access.
Cons: Low water pressure. Tiki bar closed too early.
Pros: I love the location
Cons: We have been here a lot and the room we had this time was not good. Hairdryer broken, exhaust fan did not work, toilet would not flush correctly and the water pressure was very weak. For what I paid I was very disappointed!
Pros: Great location right on the beach and close to everything you need; yet just the right distance away!
Cons: Sheets had not been changed prior to arrival and staff grumbled about changing them when we finally figured it out at approx 9 pm. Otherwise great!
Pros: Clean, right in the beach, pool, tiki bar
Pros: Counter Customer Rep Chelsea is a valuable part of why our stay was EXCELLENT. She went above and beyond my expectations. Along with Lauren they made sure any and everything was taken care of. My thanks to 2 of the HARDEST working women I’ve had the pleasure of meeting. Definitely 5 STARS ⭐️
Cons: Early morning, I mean 6:00am shouting in the court yard.
Pros: Beds were unbelievably comfortable!!! Gorgeous views of the ocean!!!
Cons: The deck area could be more clean
When you stay at Tar Heel Motel in Nags Head, you'll be near the beach, within a 5-minute drive of Jennette's Pier and Nags Head Golf Links. Featured amenities include express check-in and express check-out. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Motel has been remodeled. The rooms are spacious and clean with charming beach decor. The motel manager is great!!
Pros: The room & hotel were super cute decor and comfy linens. It was conveniently located to many of our interest. We loved parking right outside our room. The kitchette was super. We had room to park our bikes and a nice table and chairs. I loved the furniture. The booking too was great. I loved having a code for the door.
Cons: Larger bathroom or at least a countertop. We had almost no interaction with any staff. Upon leaving I certainly carried the conversation. The setup almost didn’t require any communication with the front desk. It also appears you are on your own at night. No 24 hour person. That freaks me out a tad.
Pros: The motel was clean, beautifully decorated, comfy soft beds. The pool is on the smaller side but that was great for my kids. They had new lounge chairs and an area to clean off your feet from the beach. I felt safe and was traveling with two kids alone. The staff was very helpful when I asked for suggestions. The check in process was super easy. IF you are looking for a wonderful, affordable place and close to the beach this is it. Public access to water is across the street!!!
Cons: I would have liked to have had a snack machine for late night munchies for the kids.
Cons: Ice machine not working
Pros: Very nice place
Pros: The hotel was recently renovated. It looks amazing. Not far from the beach the beds were comfy. Was a last minute change and maybe so glad we did. Staff was super friendly
Cons: I do t have any negative thoughts
Pros: I was pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Everything was clean. The pool was nice. Beach access was right across the street. Staff was friendly and anxious to help. Beds were comfy and the room was plenty big.
Cons: Parking is an issue. The parking lot is really small and I thought it was a little over priced but overall it was great.
Pros: Room decor was nice. The beds were good.
Cons: The loud air conditioner did nothing to remove the dampness in the room. Everything remained or became damp. I had to go out and buy hangers! There was a lack of cleaning staff, and the ones that were there did not speak English. The shower curtain rod was broken. The tilework around the pool was very uneven and sharp, it could have cut a foot.
Cons: Bathroom extremely small
When you stay at Surf Side Hotel in Nags Head, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jennette's Pier. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk and an elevator (lift). Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location was perfect. View of the water from most rooms. Right in the sand with two pools. It was clean, beds were comfortable. Breakfast was big with many options.
Pros: Love the people, they worked very hard to make our stay wonderful and loved the breakfast, pool and hot tub.
Cons: Bathrooms in building D were a little small
Pros: Breakfast was beyond what I expected from a continental breakfast. Very good with a lot of options. The tables were a bit close in the breakfast room, but there was an area to sit and eat outside, as well.
Cons: The rooms were okay. The doors did not automatically close, so you (and the cleaning staff) had to be careful to ensure the door closed completely when leaving.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Good variety.
Cons: I had called and requested a room not pool front. When I arrived I was pool front. When I expressed this to the staff at check in they were not accommodating and did not offer or change my room. They said most people want pool side. I said well I didn't and that is why I called to request that. It as I expected noisy pool side, people playing music etc. The rooms have to towel racks or hooks to hang towels to dry.
Pros: The front desk ladies were delightful. Very welcoming and helpful.
Cons: Room bathrooms could use a little updating. Especially shower heads
Pros: Location and price. Great breakfast
Pros: All the staff were great. Food was excellent every morning! My husband and I loved staying here for our 1 year anniversary, & look forward to staying again in the near future!!!
Cons: The elevator was very slow and was not air conditioned. That’s my only complaint. So plan on taking the stairs to save you a lot of time!
Pros: Good View. Pretty clean. Breakfast was below average.
Cons: Needs updated. Reservations were screwed up. They gave our room to someone else inexplicably. Both at the desk were looking at each other as if to say "why did she/he (another employee) do this.
Pros: The free breakfast is incredible! Staff was so helpful and kind and the room was clean, had comfortable beds along with excellent views! Super easy and quick walk to the beach, indoor and outdoor pools are spotless with nice lounge chairs. We loved everything about Surf Side Hotel!
Pros: The friendly staff. The excellent breakfast with so many choices. The little extras they did to make our stay so enjoyable.(popcorn, cookies, wine, lemon water, etc)
Cons: The bathroom could use some remodeling. More powerful shower water.
Pros: Very friendly staff, nicely redone lobby and hotel room furniture
Cons: Pool is small, no real shade, beach was under renovation, had to drive to another public beach, breakfast was ok

Pros: The room was spacious.
Pros: The walk to beach
Cons: It was seriously dated, ac was barely.... bedding was stained
Pros: The Restaurant was exceptional!
Cons: The elevator was extremely slow
Pros: It's on the beach.
Cons: Room temp didn't adjust, bedding smelled like chlorine bleach, and the corners of the room weren't clean.
Pros: Breakfast was great
Cons: Price and no elevator
Pros: Loved waking up and watching the sunrise form our balcony overlooking the beach. And the sunset in the evening.
Cons: Slooooow elevator!
Pros: Ocean Front rooms are incredible!
Cons: Couldn't stay longer
Pros: .the location to the beach
Cons: The mattress was super springy. For that amount of money not to have a quality mattress is ridiculous
Pros: The rooms were perfect everything work inside
Cons: Everything was perfect
Pros: Delfins at the beach, very nice beach for swimming.
Pros: Location is perfect and the pool and on-sight restaurant are all a plus!
Cons: Maybe extend pool hours?
Pros: The restaurant. Proximity in Kill Devil Hills. The beach. Balcony view.
Cons: The elevator did not work a few times and one was broke. Balcony had many cobwebs and bugs. Beer caps on table when entered room. Stairwells were stained and dirty. Rug to office was dirty when welcoming you. Balcony door hard to lock. Dressers drawers did not close properly. Toilet seat needs to be replace.

Pros: We loved the indoor pool, and the splash pad! The beach access was very close, but could use some upkeep.
Cons: We had toddlers with us, so they were able to get in and OUT of the room by themselves! I’d really like to see some sort of lock on the doors that toddlers can’t reach!
Pros: Size of the room was great!
Pros: The property is so clean and beautiful.
Pros: Location was good. Friendly staff.
Cons: Had to wait for check-in, too many spiders and spider webs on the steps/screen-in porch/on the buildings/spiders inside bedroom. Sofa bed mattress had several large stains on it. Back side units not well maintained. I had to stand firm to get another unit. Need someone on site past 5pm that can make decisions other than the day manager.
Pros: Very kid friendly. Indoor water slides and movie in the pool. Our kids said it was the best part of vacation!!!
Cons: The price originally is crazy high. Would of done more nights at the price we paid through booking. The indoor water was pretty cold and super “chemically” smelling. Could of vented out a little better.
Pros: It was very cozy when we checked in. everything was great!!!
Cons: There were short black African American hairs on the toilet in the bathroom. Looked as if it had been used after it was cleaned maybe from housekeeping. Kinda weird. Also wish there was shampoo and body wash build into the showers at the pool like at the gym. For after we checked out to shower with after going to the beach one last time. Kinda a bummer. Didn’t want to unpack all of our stuff to find the toiletries.
Pros: It was convenient to everything.
Cons: That we didn't stay longer.
Pros: The indoor park was great, very close to the beach. They even have beach Parkin
Pros: The bedroom was large
Cons: Pull out couch mattress was horrible, I could hear the neighbors even they were just having a regular sound level chat, indoor pool didn’t have heated water, concierge person was really keen on finding mine and my wife’s country of origin.
Cons: The reception gave us an unfinished room when we got there. And it took a long time to change the room while we’re really hungry.
Pros: Clean, great location
Cons: Too much light in bedroom from outside flood lights

Barbecue facilities, laundry facilities and a children’s playground are on site at Outer Banks Motor Lodge. Vending machines are available and offer snacks and refreshments. The Wright Brothers National Memorial is just 2.2 miles from this motel. Guests will be 6 minutes’ drive from Jocky’s Ridge.
Pros: I liked the fact that they called us early to let us know our room was ready long before actual check in time!!
Pros: The staff cannot be beat! They even called me to tell me our room was ready 4 hours before check in. I have never had a hotel be that considerate!
Cons: It’s just that it’s old. And they are trying to upgrade as fast they can. I understand they had some major interruptions bc of hurricane damage.
Pros: The staff and service was friendly and welcoming. The beach was a step out your front door. The pool was clean. The room provided everything you need.
Cons: That we had to leave
Pros: Kitchen in room
Cons: The room was nasty - the bathroom was worse - room door looked as if it had been kicked in - water damage in bathroom- could hear noise all nite - could hear people talking right outside door. People sitting right outside room and smoking
Pros: All of the staff were friendly and helpful with anything I needed. Maintenance man even spent almost an hour almost in the heat helping me get my keys out of locked vehicle. Great staff!
Pros: Kitchenette with basics , stove and refrigerator, some rooms with view of ocean and beach Manager was very helpful
Cons: Older building but for my needs well and very clean
Pros: Very convenient to the beach. Pool was very nice. Loved the rocking chairs on oceanfront. Beds were very comfy!!
Cons: It is a very old place. No central air, just window units. It does have an old odor to it but not too bad. Kitchen table chairs are “unstable” according to my 5 yr old grandson. Some outlets didn’t work and more outlets were needed.
Pros: Great location on the beach and near shopping. Really liked being able to bring our dog.
Cons: Clogged bathroom sink drain and toilet paper holder coming loose from the wall. Could use some renovation and more decorations/pictures in the room.
Pros: Location. Being able to open my motel door and walk straight onto the beach. The employees were super friendly.
Cons: Room could use 2 air conditioners but it was like 105 outside so it was understandable that the one was struggling. Also a solid porch upstairs as we got water and sand from the upstairs neighbors. And this wasn't the motels fault, but the rudeness of the upstairs guests jumping around in their rooms before 9am. Some of us enjoy being able to sleep in during our vacation.
Pros: Great location! Right on the beach! Had alot of fun!
Cons: Water in the shower never heated up.
Pros: Staff was very friendly, pool was fantastic air conditioning was nice and cold!!! Would stay here again!!!
Cons: Shower knobs didn't turn well and poor water pressure. Dryer in laundry room didn't dry very well.
This unique bed and breakfast is located in the heart of Nags Head. To pass your days you can venture out to visit the near by Light houses, go shopping at the outlet mall, spend a day on the beach, visit the state park and much more! Best of all walking friendly.
Pros: The host and hostess were awesome We felt like we had known them for a long time or they were family.
Cons: It was all good
Pros: We reserved the Captain's Room and accommodations were really nice and clean, one of the nicer B&B's I've been to. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was a nice with a larger shower. They provide a few extras like beach towels and bottled water - though I would've loved it if the water bottles would have been replenished each day, not a big deal though, we bought some. The pool out back was really nice, and they don't mind if you swim late as long as you're quiet. The beach was basically right across the street too. I would stay again. Breakfast was good, but I wish they would let you know ahead of time what they were having in case of special requests - like no blueberries in the pancakes, or bananas in the french toast - my husband would have preferred plain pancakes and plain french toast. All in all, it was nice and comfortable and the owners were friendly enough.
Cons: Some choices for breakfast would've been nice. But one option is typical for B&Bs.
Pros: Quiet, great location and couldn't ask for better hospitality. Would definitely go back! Short walk to pier, food and the beach.
Cons: FYI...Not a dislike, but steps to second floor to units.
Pros: The owners of the property were great and they were very accommodating. Met some good people who were also staying at the B&B that weekend. Made for a great stay. I would definitely consider staying at this establishment in the future.
Pros: Great breakfast, nice quiet location, knowledgable owners, Sam and Omie's Restaurant !
Cons: size of room was alittle small ( Bodie )
Pros: The location is great for nags head And The national seashore. Close to great beaches, Sam and I miss restaurant, Jeannette pier and the causeway to mantel. The Pool is nice, has hot tub but we did not use it. The
Cons: Coffee had flavor.
Pros: Amazing location with the pier, beach access , restaurants, shopping everything close by . The people who manage the place are really amazing and helpful . I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is going to Nags Head .
Pros: We spent 3 nights and had a full, unique, and delicious breakfast each morning. Coffee/tea was ready about 15 minutes before breakfast time and the meal was prepared from scratch once we arrived. Location is ideal. The owners' years of experience shows. They think of everything, so we could enjoy every minute of our stay.
Pros: Excellent facilities, excellent staff. This place is a dream.
Pros: The breakfast was great and satisfying every time
Cons: The view ... I thought we would have an oceanfront view from our room....The inn is actually on the opposite side of where the beach and ocean was. The room was smaller than what I pictured on line ...All the amenities listed are in a common area, not private...Did not see in descriptions that this would be in shared area.

Pros: The room was clean and comfortable and the staff was very friendly
Cons: Expected an ocean side room got a room with a view of the road. Parking was difficult, spaces were too small and hard to get into and out of. Room was clean and comfortable but smaller than expected.
Pros: The price.
Cons: It was a very hot weekend and the air conditioning unit did not cool the room as well as it should have. We were facing the front of the property and there was only a drape so if you didn’t want people to look at you then you had to leave the drapes closed. The windows on the front need sheers or blinds. The maid forgot to leave coffee the second day and we like to start our day with a cup of coffee without leaving the room.
Pros: Great Location, rooms were just beat up need to be up dated door would not shut properly. They were clean.
Pros: Breakfast was good and good variety.
Cons: The oatmeal was too thin, watery
Pros: Location was perfect. Breakfast was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room had refrigerator and microwave. We even had a decent view of the ocean.
Cons: Room had everything you need, but was a little on the small side.
Pros: Pool and easy beach access.
Cons: Not enough offered for outside sitting in back of hotel , beach side. one picnic table that is old , legs buried in sand deep, so sitting was uncomfortable, sat on top of table.
Pros: Check-in was smooth; all the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel was built in 1939 but well taken care of. Beach-front location. It’s old-school in design but maintains its character throughout. The lobby is homey and welcoming. Well worth the cost.
Cons: The dining area was small, but typical of an older property.
Pros: Breakfast was good. Coffee was available all day. That is good. Staff was very helpful, courteous, and friendly. Room was clean. I liked the back door to the beach.
Cons: The room was a lot smaller than I expected. There was no room for much. There were only 2 of us. 4 would have been really overcrowded. Also I thought I was getting an oceanfront room with access to a porch for sitting outside in the evening. Other than that everything was good.
Pros: Central location close to many restaurants and tourist attractions. Nice large updated bathrooms.
Cons: Quite a stroll to get to beach. Smoke smell permeates lobby from a used fireplace.
Pros: The hotel is close to the beach. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Our room was the cleanest of any hotel I've stayed in. Breakfast was great, especially the waffles.
Cons: Our room did not have direct access outside. There wasn't anything to do within walking distance.
Pros: The location was perfect. The outdoor shower and easy access to the pool, ice machine, and the inn and house keeping staff were very present throughout the day to provide new towels/room service.
Cons: A few things would have really improved our room: lighting, additional chairs and hooks for towels. We only had one lamp not located by the beds - this left majority of the room really dim in front of the mirrors. Additional chairs: our room was for 4 but our table only seated two people. We went to the lobby to play a game (after returning from dinner around 9pm) and were asked to go to the dining room - which was not set up for games. Understood why we were asked to leave the lobby since it was after 9pm and rooms were located right beside us - however, it really is a great game table. We would have much rather preferred to play there or in our room Hooks: this would have been SO nice. With a family of 4, next to the beach we are using a minimum of 8 towels a day. Towel hooks to keep our bath towels and beach towels off the floor (and from being hung on chairs) would have been a really nice addition - especially since our room did not have a balcony/railing to hang beach towels from.
Pros: Location was good
Cons: When I booked I was led to believe my room would have a couch but it didn’t

Pros: House keeing was great, breakfast was fantastic pool area was great. Beach access is wondeful
Cons: The beds were a nightmare! I have never slept in a bed that small and was told it was a full size bed NO WAY! it was lumpy and very old...the bathroom was so small and when you sit on commode toliet paper is under the outdated oversized cabinet so good luck finding the toliet paper...this place needs a lot of updates especially closet mirror doors, no light to even see in mirror.
Pros: Great ocean view and easy access to the beach. Friendly staff, clean room, great location near restaurants and attractions. Loved the outdoor pool! So nice to come off the beach and swim in the very well maintained pool.
Cons: I prefer a room with carpet, but my room was not carpeted.
Pros: Staff was excellent
Cons: Hotel needed updating. Room was musty smelling and had poor lighting. Also the only mirror was in the bathroom.
Pros: When we calculated that we would arrive late, we called and they handled our late arrival professionally and even got us a better room with a good view. The person we talked to seemed glad we made it and welcomed us. We felt right at home.
Cons: The moving carts could have been improved. There was too few and the condition of two needed extensive repair or replacement.
Pros: Loved the waffles at breakfast. They would also text us everyday to see if we needed anything. Very convenient
Cons: They had a hot tub a few years back. We went back this year and it was gone unfortunately. A hot tub would of made the trip perfect
Pros: The beach was connected to the property.
Cons: The first room we were given the ddir did not close. The second room we were given the screws were out the door. When checking in I was not offered a room at a lower price, while a man walked in off the street and sas given that price. Had I been offered that price, I would have stayed longer. The room I was finally given had a view of a nasty building overlooking the street. The bathtub wasnt clean nor was our room carpet.
Pros: Oceanfront view, friendliness of staff, location
Cons: The elevator is slow
Pros: Extremely nice, well maintained and clean. Would definitely stay there again
Pros: On the beach Breakfast include with stay
Cons: Like any place that we stay, the bed is not mine it’s never like your bed
Pros: Location, ocean front and plenty of parking.
Cons: Needing to use 1 elevator to get from ground floor to 1st floor and a second elevator for upper floors made check in and out very congested and time consuming.
Pros: The proximity to the ocean.
Cons: The hours for breakfast could be extended.
With a stay at Dolphin Oceanfront Motel in Nags Head (South Nags Head), you'll be a 4-minute walk from Jennette's Pier and 13 minutes by foot from Tanger Outlet Center. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: I loved the old style type of motel it was. Very clean and nicely updated rooms. It was right on the ocean so staying in a room off of the oceanfront was still in very close proximity to the beachfront.
Cons: The pool closed before dark.
Pros: I like that the rooms were exactly what you need with a brand new mattress and clean as can be!
Cons: Wish there were more towel racks and maybe a microwave.
Pros: Great location to beach , walking distance to pier and restaurants are close as well. Bed slept well.
Cons: Room was a bit outdated. AC unit struggled to keep up.
Pros: We stayed in an oceanfront room and it was perfect! Directly on the beach. We enjoyed sitting right outside of our room watching the waves with our feet it the sand. Very dog friendly place. The ocean was really rough during our stay, but we we able to cool off in the pool which was clean and refreshing. We will stay again when we come back to Nags Head!
Cons: The parking is a little tight. No microwave.
Pros: Clean newly renovated. Great location with easy access. Pet friendly.
Cons: Room were a little small and ac could use some work.
Pros: The location.
Pros: Right on the beach
Pros: Close to the ocean
Cons: Could use a little more updating but otherwise fine.
Pros: It was right on the beach
Cons: Room was dirty and like 20 flys. Shower was overflowing and stopped up. Tried to call service first night but they close at 5 in the office. Not a good experience.
Pros: It was quaint
Cons: No blanket on the bed, we froze with only sheets
Pros: the room was in walking distance of the sand on the beach
Cons: No microwave provided, and I dont think we saw room service at all during this visit. Had to steal towels out the laundry room.
Pros: People were very friendly to us and to our pet, room was cozy and felt like a home away from home. Right on the beach, walk out your door and you are there. Definitely going to go back as soon as possible.
Cons: Nothing to not !like. Only issue at all is cramped parking.

Pros: Very clean, easy check-in, excellent bargain! The pool was very clean and the patio furniture was very comfortable. Will definitely go back
Cons: I wasn't aware of it being upstairs. This should be mentioned in the description for people with disabilities.
Pros: Great location loved the modern vibe room was very clean
Cons: A/C was a bit loud but did work well....beds could have been a bit more comforting I like firm beds but my boyfriend prefers softer beds the bed was more on the firm side.
Pros: The bed was super comfortable! The location was AMAZING - super close to the beach. Decorated very well!
Cons: There were stains on the carpet. A quick carpet cleaning would help wonders. The outside light was right outside our window and lit up our room at night like a Christmas tree. We hung a blanket over the window so we could sleep. Blackout curtains would be so helpful.
Pros: Roomy and comfortable. Close to beach access
Cons: Not enough places for the 5 of us to hang up towels. No staff on property at all times.
Pros: Great location, clean and updated.
Cons: No guide or indication what channels were on the TV
Pros: It was close to the beach, shopping and restaurants.
Cons: There were bugs in our bathroom!
Pros: Clean, quiet, TV in each room. Smart TV so we could sream our hulu. We had a very nice stay.
Cons: The A/C did not work when got to our room. We Called the manager she came out and saw that it didn't work and they upgraded our room to a two bedroom with A/C , a living room, and kitchen for the same price..
Pros: There was a huge misunderstanding about your check-in process. There was no manager on the premises. I did not have access to my computer emails therefore, I received no code or room number to access the room. I would like my money returned. You could have answered the many phone calls I made to your motel. Narrow parking access; damaged the right side of my 2017 Honda. (Obvious body damage). Slept in my car. Only 1 hour of sleep.
Cons: A returned phone call could have instructed me at check-in. Scary to sleep in my car. Such a let-down. Tried calling throughout the day and into the evening. No one returned my call as promised.
Cons: Parking was terrible
Pros: Great location, close to the beach.
Cons: The maid cleaned once a day which was awesome however, it would have been nice to have a broom in the room all for the sand.

Pros: Location. Decent breakfast. Helpful staff. Great views. Easy access.
Cons: The was a plate missing from the outlet behind the bed. Major safety hazard. If that sheet touches the contacts, instant fire in the bed. It's a $1.00 outlet cover part and has one screw, to prevent a fire! Come on! It's also a code violation.
Cons: Dirty and old
Pros: Location to beach. Great view from balcony, room.
Cons: The beds were listed as 2 queen. They were full size. Too small
Pros: Enjoy the fact that we could take our dogs with us and stay at a nice hotel
Cons: Some people did not control their dogs barking
Pros: location is perfect as you walk out onto the beach.
Cons: there was NO guest computer with printer which is critical for me when I travel. I generally will NOT book a hotel without guest computer/printer because I need to print out tickets and other info.
Pros: Breakfast was great. Very good location.
Cons: Perhaps a bit larger bathroom. The bathroom door stuck when closed. Had to jerk it open. Maybe more washcloths and towels. But neither of these were a big hindrance.
Pros: The breakfast was good - the view is great
Cons: Beach access is difficult to navigate with chairs etc -One elevator was broken during our entire stay and the wait for an elevator was long. Beds are old and uncomfortable. There are very few electrical outlets in the rooms.
Cons: Elevator was old and slow. Not sure it was safe. Mattress and pillows were awful. Not clean. Tired.
Pros: Beds were good. Enough room for four. Love that it had a coffee maker.
Cons: The eggs on the breakfast bar were runny. Big spider on the balcony
Pros: Location Location Location. Had an end room on top floor. View was awesome. Hotel employee on front desk was great. Pre ckout was painless
Pros: The breakfasts there were worth at least $20 a day for my husband and I. There was a lot of good variety.
Cons: Housekeeping could have been better. The first day we were there we had to ask that our room be cleaned and fresh towels, coffee and kleenex (there was an empty box on our room upon arrival). The third day we were there our room did get "cleaned" however the waste baskets were emptied and no bags were put back in and there was a plastic cap off a razor on the bathroom floor the whole time that never was picked up (that was there when we arrived as well).
When you stay at Owens' Motel in Nags Head, you'll be by the ocean, within a 15-minute drive of Wright Brothers National Memorial and Jennette's Pier. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Location across from beach was good. Towels were clean and fresh. Sheets were OK, but bedspreads were questionable.
Cons: Old motel had not been updated. Microwave and refrigerator old . There were no racks in the refrigerator. Carpet dirty. Lighting inadequate. (Floor lamp had no bulb.) There was no electrical outlet in bathroom for hairdryer. We had to unplug microwave from power strip to use hairdryer near a mirror in the bedroom. The curtains were awful, especially the ones at back of room. The unit had a very unacceptable odor. Bathroom exhaust fan worked but its light was dim and the plastic cover was brown with age and cracked. Although the fan's motor worked, it did not do the job it was designed to do.
Pros: staff was friendly, knowledgeable location was excellent
Cons: no wifi
Pros: Closeness to the beach
Cons: Small shower
Pros: location was right by jennettes' pier, perfect.
Cons: the room is old 1950's but the desk help said they are renovating in october.
Pros: The room was clean and had a small refrigerator, microwave and coffee maker. You could walk to the ocean through an archway. Which was very convenient.
Cons: The bathroom was very small. It took several minutes for the hot water in the shower to warm up. It did not have room for a bathtub. There were small ants that were crawling around on the nightstand. I found some ants crawling on me at night.

Guest room amenities include refrigerator, microwave and desk. Handicapped-accessible and hot tub rooms are available. There is no charge for children 17 and under with an adult.
Pros: After we checked in and went to the room, we did a walk through. The room itself was disgusting. The bed had dirt stains all through the sheets and other stains. The towels all had nasty stains that were plain visible. The bathroom had actual poop still in it from someone else. The main areas of the hotel were nice, but the Hall ways and hotel rooms were disgusting. Not worth the $500+ spent.
Cons: The hotel had 0 attention to detail of its own cleanliness. It was disgusting.
Pros: That it was close to the beach
Cons: The door knob on the Balcony was Rusted to which it was falling apart and it cut my finger when I was going back into the room
Pros: Location: on the beach
Cons: Dated and small rooms
Pros: Great location. Very friendly staff. Great breakfast. Very clean. Great place to stay.
Pros: Restaurant, large Bar and Deck overlooking beach. Close proximity to beach. Beautiful view of Sunrise from Deck.
Pros: Clean friendly convenient
Cons: Need more seating area out side on the dunes
Pros: Right on the ocean
Pros: Bed was comfortable
Cons: Pool was small for the size of hotel
Pros: The location, the tiki bar, proximity to the beach, and the cost!
Cons: The beds were very hard and uncomfortable. I ended up sleeping on top of the comforter to add some cushion and just requested an additional blanket.
Pros: The location was absolutely perfect. The hot tub and pool were very clean. And since the restaurant was closed for renovation, they offered a complimentary breakfast. I assumed it would be a continental type breakfast but it was a full breakfast.
Cons: I chose beach view room.....all we could see from our room was a grassy sand dune and renovation equipment. Had we gotten 1 or 2 floors higher, I think the view would have been perfect.
Pros: It was so beautiful and the waterfalls were so pretty. They were so nice and friendly. The room was so nice and clean. We really enjoyed our stay. Wish it could have been longer. Will be back.
Pros: Staff was super friendly. The location was great.
Cons: The bathroom is ridiculously small. The room felt damp. The toilet leaked. The shower water pressure was about a trickle. The tub did not drain well so when taking a shower the tub filled up.
