near to the chateaux and restaurants in the evening
Clean, quiet hotel, very easy walking distance to the chateau
Central and comfortable room Second floor with no lift and a very narrow garret like staircase from first floor
The staff were the best of any hotel I've stayed in...seriously. They couldn't do enough for us and made our visit really special.
Very clean room, pleasant and helpful staff. Situated very centrally yet parking was no problem. A nice old building, well modernised and beautifully decorated. None
Good breakfast, great four-poster bed in my room! Nothing.
The details on the wb-site as I choose the hotel because it was in the centre of town, and the particular room because it was said to open onto the garden. In the event we were put into a room on the firstr floor of a semi-detached house over a kilometre from the town. The room was very, very, basic. In addition, the hotel tried to charge an additional 12 euros for a kitchen we didn't use, and then demanded payment in cash - without providing change so they still owe us 1 euro.
The staff were very friendly. The credit card payment device was "faulty" so I had to pay by cash... no receipt for this payment was offered; therefore there is no record that I've even paid. My wife and I shared a double bed. It was a bad nights sleep. It was like sleeping on a giant marshmallow. We kept rolling into the middle of the “mattress” – as it formed a valley. I was physically tensed all night trying to counter this rolling action and thus my back was hurting next morning. I was in the middle of a 550 mile trip home – it didn’t make it any easier. The “continental" breakfast, next morning, was served in a separate hotel a little way down the road; it just wasn’t value for money. 1 croissant each and a quarter of a baguette with a few sachets of jam €6.00.
it was clean. They did not take credit card for payment, they tried to make my five year old son sleep in a travel cot and the room was tiny.
Efficient friendly sevice, ideal location providing good facilities at reasonable price
fit for purpose
secure car parking was good. Good buffet breakfast. Bed comfortable slightly shabby corridors and uninspiring decor, typical of small town French Hotel
An good old hotel, located in a nice little town, not to far from the national road to the south of france direction Clermont Ferand. The garden was very nice. A perfect bathroom. A very good atmosphere. Like in most of the france hotels the bed (1.90 m) was too short for my husband. In the town half of the restaurants were closed.
staff were freindly . situation in town is good , easy access,
This hotel provided an ideal stopping point on a long journey. It was comfortable, clean, quiet and offered a locked car park with guest access code. There was no evening restaurant available at the hotel and nearby facilities were not extensive but a wider selection of eating is available a short drive away. Breakfast is provided with a good spread available.
Good place to garage bicycles. Good breakfast. Great little town.
Very pleasant hotel;good breakfast. Reservation was made via my cHRISTIAN name so there was an anxiety about whether the booking was valid
We choose this hotel as a stop-over during our trip to the south of France. It's a simple hotel, private parking, with friendly personel, was ok for one night.
The staff were very friendly and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard. There was a good range of information about the surrounding area. The information in the hotel room on where to eat in Briare itself was particularly helpful as the hotel doesn't offer an evening meal. The buffet breakfast was really good and re-stocked frequently. Breakfast closed at 9.30am - would have appreciated being able to eat up to 10am.
The hotel rooms were small but extremely clean and functional. An excellent location at the beach. September in Berritz may be one of the nicest places in all of France. I would do it again.
Very peaceful, friendly and most helpful staff. More space for my clothes would have been useful - drawers, shelves etc.
Simple but sufficient food and accommodation for the price
Pleasant welcome (in English), easy parking and all rooms being on ground floor Disappointed to find the restaurant was full when we arrived, however a recommendation was made for a restaurant in the next village which turned out to be excellent.
There is nothing good to say about this appalling hotel. We have never stayed in a worse place. Logis company should be ashamed to list it.
A very warm welcome, food excellent. The hotel is actively upgrading everything but this did not affect our stay in any way.
Nice location. Shower was good. Price was reasonable. In the summer I'm sure it's a great place to stay, see below.... It was October and the owner had gone on holiday, so no breakfast, no bar, and no meals being served in the restaurant of the auberge. In fact nowhere to eat or drink in the town/village. They should have just said the hotel wasn't open. Room had a few DIY jobs to finish off, taps not secured to sink, pipework above shower, etc.
The village was very pleasant and clean and nice to walk around in the evening. Apart from canal and park not much else there. The hotel was not open on arrival at 5:00pm. There was a small sticker on the door saying open at 6:00pm. Eventually had to phone the owner to open the doors.Food was ok but selection was limited and expensive.
Proprietor lovely, sadly the hotel is undergoing some building work, the room we were given was well below standard, sloping floor, uncomfortable bed, draughty windows, air conditioner unit with wires and tubes hanging out, really the room should have been closed until it was completely habitable The proprietor who has great charm
