At about 9 p.m. I made the reservation on Kayak and called the Budget Inn to ask if it was okay that we'd be rolling in at about 10:30 p.m. because we were at a concert on Portland. The male working front desk said he'd stay up longer until we could check in. After driving to the wrong place, I called and said it'd be another 25 minutes or so and he was totally ok with it, so he was super nice. The staff was obviously super nice, called us at 11 a.m. to ask if we'd be staying another night because it was time to checkout (really polite there) and the check in and check out process went really fast. Overall, I wouldn't mind staying again because the price was reasonable given it being really last minute. Facility had some downs, cigarette burns in the sheets, the patio was kinda dirty and there was paint chipping in the rooms. Those things wern't prominent and I barely noticed. There were quitelling a few smoking tenants that were right by our room so there was quite a few cigarette butts around the patio area. Also, a homeless man was making himself a place to sleep undercover but he was pretty close to my car so I had to check midway through the night.
The night check in staff (a male) was very friendly and was very helpful. The bed was comfortable, microwave and refrigerator in the room was nice as well.. The burns in our bedspread and sheets as well as obvious cigarette burns in our non smoking room, and burn marks on almost every surface of the bathroom. The smell of stale smoke in the room, and allowing people to smoke on the nearby patio, which drifted into our closed room all night.
Big (fist sized) hole in bathroom door and missing the smoke alarm. Creepy place.
Breakfast was good with eggs and sausage make your own waffles cereal muffins coffee and juice
Room was clean, nice water pressure, soft sheets Tv picture was pretty bad for whatever reason. Bed was smaller than expected despite upgrading to the business king suite - whatever that even means.
Great location to both I5 and 205. Quiet. The rooms were extremely clean and very nicely kept. Beds and pillows were all very comfortable especially considering how inexpensive our stay was. Staff was extremely kind and helpful. Definitely a great short stay hotel.
The Wi-Fi system data would often slow down to a trickle and/or stop. An upgrade to the Guest House Motel Wi-Fi system is needed.
Close to restaurants and grocery stores, quiet Only disposable plastic cups in room so I couldn't make my own tea; shower head is very low
Staff were friendly. Close distance to freeway, food and stores. Wifi did not work for more than one device. shower head was very low on the wall. pillows and bed were not very comfortable. the A/C/heating unit was very loud. Room smelled musty. I would have rather paid an extra $10-20 a night to stay somewhere else.
I liked the friendliness of the manager / owner who recommended a vegetarian restaurant for me when I told him I was a fellow vegetarian. (There is an Indian food place just down the block - walking distance.) Room was clean, affordable, and near major highway that allowed access to Portland with a short 20 minute drive. Air conditioner and fridge worked great. All bathroom utilities worked fine. I wouldn't call the place luxurious but it was just what we needed on our 3 day stay in the Portland area.
The staff were very nice. The room clean for the most part. We did find towels that had stuff on them like the maid hadn't switched them.out from last guests. No amenities - we did expect that for the price, though
Location was close to store and food Room smelled must, furnace was old and more then we'll used, no iron
I think they've spruced up the room since my last stay. The parking is the only real problem. There simply aren't enough parking spaces. Even the handicap spaces get filled, and just because you found a parking space doesn't mean it's anywhere close to your room.
The place was ok, however the only value is no pet fee. The walls were paper thin.
It was close to where we needed to be on Christmas day. There was water coming up from the floor. Even though I wiped it up, it just kept coming up as if there was a leak below the floorboards. I nearly slipped four or five times. My boyfriend and I kept getting our feet wet and and therefore were constantly cold, even with the heat on. Also, the mirror above the sink fell off the wall and nearly hit my boyfriend's head. The mirror tabs that hold it up were not even in any studs, nor were molly screws used. The motel really needs updating for safety.
Most of the staff was friendly, very conveniently close to places. AC didn't work so the friendly maintenence guy was nice enough to replace it but it didn't work that well either. The other people that came with us stayed in another room and the beds/towel were made 1 out of the 3 nights that they stayed.
The price and the pet-friendliness I didn't feel safe parking my car People roamed the hallways at hours They was loitering that appeared to be drug and/or prostitution related in the parking lot Inadequate parking close to the rooms People making horrible noises until 2:00am Bad spiritual energy
Didn't spend a lot on a room here. It was a quick escape from family with my girlfriend. Ghetto people love to start yelling at 6pm and never let up all night
No lock on door or window. Weird attic hatch in ceiling, again no lock. I felt very unsafe.
Easy access to I 5. Registration clerk, pleasant. Noise from highway. Creepy plush carpet. Floor squeaked when you walked on it.
Nothing We made our reservation, when we arrived the woman at the desk was very rude. We have a service dog and she refused to give us a room. We had to find another hotel at midnight, after traveling all day. Would never make reservation here again. Property appeared to be dirty and not well kept.
