Very clean and elegant
Modest accommodations Nothing special for price
We had problems getting the room cool. Engineering came up once and promised to come back, but it was still too warm in the room. Otherwise it was a lovely facility, great location, terrific staff.
The hotel was clean. Check in was fast and the valet service was prompt and attentive. Make them walk the room with you at check out. I was charged a $50 smoking fee when I don't smoke.
Staff was stiff
Bed Cleanlinnes Bed Price
Staff is awesome Very helpful and friendly. They met every need and then some for my family.
Beautiful hotel, friendly staff, great food, and fun activities within walking distance! We had our dog with us and he enjoyed his stay too! We especially loved the Westin white tea products!
Make sure you look at the room beforehand. It was TINY.
Location is great, staff were nice Bedding was inferior, restaurant was overwhelmed,
Room very quiet, clean Parking expensive and difficult to access
Place is getting tired. Needs a refresh in the rooms
The bed too soft & too noise
The hotel is a gem in setting and appearance. The staff exceptionally courteous and helpful. The restaurant and bars amazing My particular room, 1702 needed a slight furniture update, and oddly was short a breakfast order door hang tag and the second day I received no bottled water replacement.
Older property that has charm, but for a 5 star hotel the hotel staff falls short of offering a 5 star experience. In addition, because rooms are older, it's hard to find an easily accessible electricity plug to charge your phone at night. In fact, the only one I could find was in the bathroom.
Love that the hotel has beautiful lush grounds to walk around. Very pleasant staff and clean rooms. We were given a room at the Villa Clara and while a gorgeous building, our dbl beds were too short and made for an uncomfortable nights sleep.
the Concierge level that I upgraded to as well as the staff!
Lovely grounds and common areas There were no blankets for extra bed.
Fantastic place. History and luxury
Liked everything! Especially the complimentary shuttle service.
Beautiful grounds! For the price, things didn't seem up to par. Our room wasn't super clean... chair had food stains. Ice room was very dirty and old. Lots of construction around pool area. Room was okay. Bathroom was nicer than the room. Paint, wallpaper, etc. around the hotel need to be updated and cleaned.
Beautiful hotel! Staff very friendly and helpful Expensive... We ordered room service late one night and didn't get half of it because they had ran out, but no phone call was made to us or given the opportunity to order something else.
The hotel is located in a recently renovated 7 story 1920/30's building in downtown Pasadena. Close to banks, restaurants and shopping. Décor is chic modern. Due to it's newness, rooms and public spaces were very clean, fresh and attractive. The hotel has expansion plans for this year to include a centrally located pool area. Staff was very friendly. Parking is strictly valet and off site. I did not use the restaurant or bar areas and my stay was just 1 night.
Clean, courteous and friendly staff Check in with car park is a bit confusing $23 over night parking unnecessary. Pretty safe street parking in surrounding
One of the few things that makes business travel bearable is finding unusual hotels in attractive locations at reasonable prices. The dusitD2 Hotel Constance is just such a find. Stayed for 1 night on business with 2 colleagues. It's a lovely old building with very extensive recent remodeling. The room, though small, was very thoughtfully laid out with no bathroom wall, but frosted glass doors separating the shower and toilet, tasteful mirroring, two large windows and furniture that made the room seem larger than its square footage. Unlike the lobby, the styling of the room and hallways really works. This does not look like your standard chain hotel. I particularly appreciated the multiple touch pads on the walls to control lighting, heat and air, as well as the bedside tablet also with lighting and hvac controls and helpful information, such as weather. Bed, linens, pillows, two robes all high quality and quite comfortable. Large flat screen TV, Keurig coffee maker, free wifi, mini fridge, small but workable closet - just don't bring a lot of clothes on hangars.. My room facing the courtyard and next door construction was quiet and private. Use of plantation shutters rather than curtains contributed to the sense of spaciousness, kept out unwanted light and served to dull outside noises. Breakfast in the dining room was pretty good and reasonably priced. All staff were friendly and helpful. The lobby and restaurant seem "over styled" for my taste. The old Spanish Revival character of the lobby has been sacrificed to a swoopy, white/gold/shocking blue aesthetic that is neither welcoming nor particularly attractive. There is no pool and I did not see an exercise room, but I didn't look, either. Parking was expensive at $25/night. If I had to do a lot of business out of a hotel room, I would not stay here. The open bathroom design would not work well if you are sharing a room with anyone other than an intimate. The desk is small and the desk chair just marginally comfortable.
The staff were fantastic: very friendly and they went out of their way to make my stay comfortable. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The in-hotel food was great too. The location is good for CalTech, less than a mile to walk in. I have the impression that the hotel's rate is normally over the GSA limit but this time -- thankfully -- it was not. There's really nothing I didn't like. No microwave but you really don't need one in this location (downtown Pasadena); there are restaurants everywhere.
The room was spacious, modern, luxurious and clean. The bed was comfortable with good sheets and pillows. The bathroom was gorgeous tile with a really nice showerhead and good lighting. The air/heat was easy to control, the fridge/coffee maker were great and the electronics charging was a great bonus. Front desk staff and valet were really friendly. Have a less expensive self-parking option.
Super cute boutique hotel in a great location. Close to Paseo and to Old town. The staff was super friendly. The placement of the bathrooms were a little strange. No real privacy, so odd for newer couples.
Bath tub spa. Toilet. Big TV Keurig cups, water bottles, and toiletries were not restocked on regular basis. Studio still felt small.
The rooms are so modern as well as the entire hotel
The staff was very friendly and helpful. The design was fun but also honored the history of the hotel. Great location. No pool but they are going to have a roof top pool at the end of phase 2/ the end of 2016.
Love the bathtub and heated toilet seat. King size bed so comfortable. The cost of the deposit and hold on the room was over $600!!!
How modern it was. Parking was a bit pricey.
Staff and less than 10 minutes walking distance to Universal studio Wait for elevator and parking was pricey
Close to Universal Studios The outside hallway carpet was greasy and muddy. Even after having them clean it, we continued to bring grease and grime and dirt into our hotel room. Our entry walkway was pretty disgusting because of it.
The staff, the comfy beds, location Funny smells, noisy electronics/shower, parking price. The place is good but could use an update
Everything was perfect
Walking distance to universal and reasonable droving distance to many LA locations. Cost of parking.
Best place to stay when going to Universal Studios, and I go a lot. There's a free shuttle that takes you to the entrance of City Walk or you can walk there in less than 10 minutes via the pedestrian bridge.
The pool, corner room & breakfast. The parking situation upon arrival.
Staff was great, location to other attractions The parking garage was pricey considering I paid 200.00 a night should get a discount when staying. The elevators were all not in service. Breakfast was too expensive for a weeks stay. I couldn't find a salon inside for service.
The room was spacious...good pillows. Good gym, nice pool. Two elevators were out (and have been for 3 years!), making trips up and down sometimes very lengthy. You can call the operator each time you go to the elevator asking to be picked up, but how ridiculous for a hotel of this caliber. Restaurant food was boring. All three places to eat at the hotel had the same menu, with tiny differences. The first meal or two it is fine, you can find alternate foods to eat, but after a few days, a change is necessary. It cost $18 for a so-called, all you can eat 'continental breakfast'...yogurt, fruit, cereal, muffins and coffee! This Hilton is near the Universal City Walk, all franchise restaurants so no good food nearby for real foodies...if you like buffets with all you can eat, this is your place.
Clean and comfortable Upon check out I realized the overbilled me. They billed triple the rate promised when booked. Their response was it will take two business days. After hours of my own time I was able to get it corrected
Ease of check-in, parking and room location close to parking. Nothing. Great stay.
Location ~ ENTIRE STAFF OF HOTEL !! Pool !!
The service from the valet to check in to to food service was excellent and friendly and very professional. The room was very nice and decorated. Elevator and hallway carpet looked very dated. Room bathroom was unbalanced and boring. Night stand drawer handle needed to be better wiped clean.
Water doesn't drain from tub
We were staying at the Courtyard for a family wedding. The negotiated group rate was fantastic...$119 per night for Friday and Saturday. The pool became the gathering place for all of us staying at the hotel. Loved the space. It allowed us to spend more time together. The restaurant food was much better than expected. The hotel would not honor the group rate for Thursday night. All of us traveling from the east coast had to fly in Thursday for Friday's wedding events. Service in the restaurant was slow.
The Marriott was perfect! Sleek, large, clean comfy room. Mine had a view of the mountains. The location was in the center of the shopping district. Loads of eateries and great shopping.
Enjoyed are stay. It's a great location close to everything in Pasadena.
The price ! The only thing this place has going for it is the location!
Check, some helpful staff Noisy b/c next to vending machine. Ask to be moved. Wanted me to move everything out before changing rooms. Hard with kids. didn't change rooms. Coffee maker didn't work.
The stay The reception did not know what to do. Disturbed my stay.
The room and pool seemed clean enough. We rarely let housekeeping in for short stays, so we can't speak to that. Parking lot is terrible. Very small, horribly laid out and the spaces were tiny. Expect dents. The hotel is way overpriced for what you get. Rooms were clean but dated and ugly. The internet connection was spotty at best. We were also given a double queen when we booked a king.
that is was located on Colorado Blvd not far from downtown old Pasadena. too little parking, not very kept up and not well cleaned.
Overall, the feeling was modern, clean, comfortable, and a place where I could do work as well as relax. The place is under renovation. There are still a few things that needed to be done in the room especially in the bathroom. But they were minor details, that will probably be addressed as they complete the renovation. The shower head was too high.
Nice beds (although very high) and pillows. Breakfast was good! The breakfast lady was very friendly and quick at refilling the breakfast! The TV cable was out the whole night and next morning but it wasn't their fault, there was a big storm. They had a cable truck there when we came but it was still never fixed. I think they should have gave us a discount but didnt! no receipt because computer was out...again I'm sure because of the storm!
easy freeway access and access to our specific event it was a little run down - TV didn't work right
It was a good experience.
Location, breakfast, nice office people. No chair for guests to sit on. Had 2 of our friends visit, but the couch is not enough. Put a small chair in the room.
I liked that they served breakfast that was included I didn't like the fact that, I had to give a $100 deposit up front. That caught me by surprise, which I didn't like. I have gotten best western before and I didn't have those hidden charges. So that left us with $100 less for our weekend and that didn't go well for the kids.
Front desk staff was sub par.
Near old town Pasadena and good restaurants The price was a smudge too much
Fast check in, easy parking, courteous and efficient staff. We arrived, had valet parking ($2 difference between valet and self-serve overnight parking cost). Walked right up to desk with no wait. 3 minutes later I had keys in my hand. Room was clean and adequately appointed. In the morning my receipt was waiting for me and a call just before I left my room had my car waiting by the time I was in the lobby. Complete lack of jet packs and flying cars but I've yet to find a hotel with an adequate supply of them.
Heard music in our room coming from outside all night long.... Front desk staff unhelpful and unpleasant.
Efficient check in Clean room overall good experience Bar service could be much better
The beds are clean and comfy The staff was great The bell hopes did everything for you with a smile The bar staff understand your drink needs The front desk staff is quick and good The shower had a clogged drain It was fixed but it was the down side of the trip
Location was decent. Food in the bar was pretty good. The rooms were super outdated and old. Paid for an upgraded room and the bathroom was the size of a very small cabinet. No outlet covers in our room just exposed plugs.
Needs massive refurbishment. Everything old and tired... Furniture, bed, HVAC, you name it. Parking also was $19/$21 for self/valet... too high.
The location is good! The room. A lot of noise. Horrible view.
I thought the staff was exceptionally courteous and helpful. In general, a very pleasant place to stay, and I would stay there again. The hallway by my room smelled musty, like a dog on a rainy day. The price of valet parking and breakfast seemed mysterious to me, poorly explained and arbitrary.
Room was clean and bed was super comfortable Tub was leaking and it didn't drain well so there was always a collection of water
I was with a group of teachers in town for a conference at the Pasadena Convention Center, so it was nice that we were within walking distance. I will definitely be staying at another hotel next year. If you wanted internet it cost $10, there was no refrigerator, the girl at the front desk was rude and unhappy to help, the Starbucks on site only served coffee and tea (espresso machine broken), and you could hear the noise from the adjoining rooms.
Staff seems to be less willing to help when booking through a third party vendor. No hot water in the room. Overall attitude of staff a bit unfriendly.
Room smell very bad
Thought it was a bit over-priced since it is a bit out from old town and some of the hotels near old town were priced a bit less. Lost satellite signal so could not watch anything on tv
Great location next to civic center and Paseo de Colorado. Walking distance to popular areas of Pasadena. Bed was very comfortable, and I loved that it had a refrigerator and an iron in room so I didn't have to wait for someone to bring one. Room had been updated nicely. Staff was helpful and friendly. Staid, corporate looking hotel, not a charming boutique hotel. Pool area and fitness area were small - felt a bit cramped. There was a huge area next to hotel that was just a vacant plaza. Not sure if it was on hotel property, but if so, should make use of this for nice patio or larger pool area. Exterior and hallways could use a refresh like the room had - that looked worn or dated. Good hotel, but could be much better, given its great location.
The location is good. We come to LA for a wedding and stayed in Sheraton Pasadena. We had stairs in our room (between the bathroom and the main room). The bathroom did not have enough counter area for my makups (mine are very basic makeups, minimals for one to use). I had to put the makeups in the room. The trips between room and bathroom had to go the stairs, up and down. This was a terrible experience.
Upon arrival had to wait about 30 minutes to check in due to reception staff running the nigh audit. Not a nice experience to wait for half an hour to check in at a hotel at 1:00 am. For some reason, they had us checking out a day earlier than set reservation. This led to our room being re-keyed and not made for when we returned at 10 pm after a day of being out and about. Not a good experience to show up to a hotel room with beds not made and towels on the bathroom floor.
We needed a hotel in downtown Pasadena and the Sheraton was centrally located. The rooms had everything that we needed, including a mini refrigerator, iron/ironing board, lots of storage space, Ethernet jack and wireless internet. Also, I liked that parking was inside a garage rather than a surface light. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was polite and helpful. I wish I could have stayed longer.
The staff will n the restaurant was pretty rude
The fruit infused water in the lobby!
quick procedures, thick walls, i.e. no noise from neighbouring rooms breakfast monotonous
Location to rose bowl Room was a little dated and not super clean.
Easy access, large room, comfy beds Breakfast was not so good. Egg yolk in boiled egg was overcooked and almost green.
Breakfast was ok. Dowtown at 5 minutes by feet. During the night, the noise of the air conditioner of the neighbor room was too loud.
Friendly service, clean and functional rooms at an affordable price for the location within walking distance of the convention center and old town.
A quick walk to the Pasadena Convention Center, old town, and parade route. A half-block from Whole Foods. Mattress way past its useful life. Breakfast bar is all sugary and processed food.
good location, clean room, free parking, free wi-fi, breakfast included, microwave and refrigerator in the room Wi-Fi signal a little weak in my room, on/off connection
Ease of check-in, open & ample parking, am breakfast, great location.
I did like that the front desk accommodated us despite the miscommunication about check in. They gave us free overnight parking as well. I did not like that guest parking was so expensive. Even just for a few hours would be pricey just for a quick visit.
We stayed there before going to vegas for our honeymoon... Awesome place, staff is extremely friendly, totally recommended
I loved the bed but that's about it. When I first checked in I was carrying my baby and luggage and had my son follow. Got all the way to my room and my key didn't work so i had to drag it all back down and carry it all back up a second time. The shower clogged up. The tv was in & out and some channels didn't have any volume?! No fridge, no microwave, no table for us to eat on.... (There was a desk my son ate on but me & my husband had to eat standing up or on the bed) Parking is $21 a night for guest. You have to pay for wifi & breakfast.
Room was very clean and staff was very polite.
The pool area at night was beautiful The only thing I would mention is that the additional parking fee was not clear when I booked, I ve found out of this at the hotel
Great value for the price. Only thing that I can point out was check in. We had to wait for a room to get cleaned even though we were checking in 2 hrs past regular check in. Also no hot tub. :( staff was top notch. I have never had towels delivered so fast. I swear they were to us before I hung up, haha
Great staff Double queen beds seemed a little small and mattresses were not very comfortable.
We liked pretty much everything. There's a pool, fitness center, & gift shop. There's also a fully functioning restaurant (The Daily Grill) that is open early & closes late. Great place to have people in the area meet us for food or drinks. Very comfortable rooms with everything you need included. It was nice to have a parking lot in the hotel, but if you opted not to go with Valet, it was a little bit of a walk to get to the lobby with suitcases & such. Adding to that, the parking lot is shared with airport travelers, so there were times at night where we were concerned we wouldn't find any spaces, even though we were hotel guests. But, it still worked out, there were a couple of hidden spots. My biggest complaint is that the air-conditioning unit in our room was very loud & would wake us up throughout the night whenever it clicked on. On a minor note, the business area in the room with the extra outlets had blown a fuse & no power was coming out of it. We let the front desk know. Over-all, these are small complaints (other than the AC).
Staff was very friendly and helpful. No breakfast for guests unless you pay at the restaurant or order room service.
The Hotel was clean and staff was super friendly but the parking wasn't free, $21 dollare a day. Yikes! No free parking.
Steak salad from room service was exceptional! Employees were friendly and helpful. Toilet stopped up. Hallways smelled musty. Bedspread smelled like someone's perfume - obviously was not washed before I arrived. Woodwork was full of nicks and scratches. Very dissapointing for a Marriott.
Service, parking, internet, coffee small bathroom; not having a lamp on each side of the bed
Good staff room was clean fast check in and check out good breakfeast good value for the money whish they had more non smoking rooms stayed in the smoking room all that was available, horrible smoke smell
cheap and cheerful for the area. with good parking. the pool is in the middle of the car park beside the road :(
Great price, great proximity to Caltech, friendly staff and clean room
Pretty good things were: location, facilities, order/cleanliness, staff, free Internet and spacious parking, kitchen, tv, bed Our room was noisy - both windows overlooked the main street, the breakfast was a bit "monotonous", "fresh fruit" were actually apples, always the same
Our stay at Vagabond Inn was very pleasent. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was nice and had a fridge, coffee maker, microwave oven, alarmclock, AC and a 42" Full HD TV with 99 channels. The breakfast was the best included breakfast we've ever had during our stay in the US. It lasted from 05:30-10:30 and included three types of bread and yogurt, there was butter, jam, Philadelphia, egg, bananas, muffins, waffles with maple syrup, water and two types of cereal, coffee, tea, milk and juice. The internet had a T1 connection with ok wireless coverage. The pool was heated so it's nice and warm when the sun goes down. Not much negative to say except that the AC was too noisy even at the lowest fan speed. Noisy AC
Nice service and good breakfast.
On my recent holiday trip to Pasadena, I stayed at the Vagabond Inn Executive and was very impressed by the newly renovated rooms and the excellent service. The rooms seem to be newly renovated and have huge flat screen TVs. The room I had was very clean and comfortable and had a nice view of Colorado Blvd. The breakfast buffet is amazing as well, complete with hot waffles and eggs. As a visitor to Pasadena, the staff was very helpful in providing maps and directions for all the sites I wanted to visit. The hotel is very close to shopping and restaurants in Old Town Pasadena, so good food is very close. I would recommend this hotel for all travelers to Pasadena!
Liked the renovated rooms. The staff was terrible, was locked out of my room, then they locked my wife in the office, I had to get the lock working and then we were not allowed to leave as we could not get in and out of the room. The TV never worked and all on valentines which was ruined..... The rooms were expensive as well.
Clean, attention to details in maintenance and guest comforts, nice beds and linens, free WiFi, big screen TV, walking distance to restaurants, ease of parking.
A slight upgrade from a basic "motor inn." Clean, big screen TV. Many restaurants nearby - nicer ones on Lake, and on Colorado past Lake. Convenient to where I needed to be. Free, reliable WiFi. Older hotel, small maintenance issues. No closet space.
Great Management. Great Value.
I liked the location. I liked the fact that the room was set back off from the street. I liked the friendliness and courtesy of the housekeeping staff.
The bathroom was outstanding They use typical commercial cleaners eve though they realize that the cleaners are toxic and in some cases carcinogenic. I can say from personal and professional experience that environmentally friendly cleaners work fine.
Free breakfast! I didn't realize Pasadena was so far from LA, but that was my fault.
Room itself nicely furnished. Location in Pasadena was probably poorest and oldest part of town but close to Huntington gardens. And Pasadena is happening place with fine reataurants and much jazz. Breakfast was quite good. Was Represented that there was Internet in the room. Worthless. On and off so much you just give up.
Clean, well-outfitted room. Very small breakfast area.
Roomy Small parking lot
Friendly staff , adequate , nice breakfast

Our week long stay started well and everything seemed nice until one of the someone stole my wife's Jewelry from the room which we suspect was the maid since based on the hotel management, she was the only one that had entered our room in our absence. Jewelry theft aside, the thing that was most disturbing to realize was that the maid had gone through all of our personal belongings. Once we brought up the issue with the management, all they had to say was that there is nothing the could do about it.
I liked my stay. I liked the room, the breakfast, the location and the staff.
everything. we were on a business trip for my husband's company and his company paid for us to stay in the Sheraton for 4 nights. I hated the Sheraton so for the last night we stood in the Comfort Inn and this hotel was so much better. no
everyone one was very helpful and seemed to like what they are doing. Hotel Employee was great and made sure We had plenty to eat at breakfast..... wish We could of stayed longer.....
Location was perfect for me. Rooms were nice and clean. Bed, comfortable. There is construction going at the corner of Lankershim and Universal Hollywood Dr. I stayed for two nights where the construction completed at 11PM the first night. Unfortunately construction continued ALL NIGHT the second night which was a Friday night. I was woken up several times by the work that was going on!
I did like that my room was ready on time and that it had a view. When I arrived there was a leak in the restroom that they did not fix... I has the same issue with the water leaking from the toilet when I woke up the next morning. Also the morning I checked out the TV did not work and I had to call room service to fix it and reprogram it. The price was not up to par with the type of room I was given.
They charge extra just to use wifi, which is typically a standard accommodation everywhere. The place is run down.
Upgraded to larger family room with Sheik theme when they saw we had kids. Kids liked it. Location great. Porbably slightly older than the Hilton next door.
Location, location and location - that's the only thing positive about this hotel. Otherwise, it is no better than a poor hotel with bad everything - Rooms are aged (badly need remodeling) - Rooms are not kept up and clean (there was mildew buildup around the sink and it was blocked for us) - Service is poor (45 min to get shower cap)
Arrived with family and Young Children. At midnight had a fire alarm that told us to exit the building via Staircase. We did. carrying 2 children and 20 flights of stairs later. We were told, It was the steam from the kitchen that caused it, go back to the room. 1 am, this gets repeated again. We get told someone was smoking, go back to the room. This happens again. We just go to the staircase with no energy to walk down 20 flights of stairs. We call 45 min. later to find out (false alarm). So next morning - the staff gets approached and we get told oh there was a party on the 21st floor that was using a fog machine. I asked why not have a PA system in the stairs so you can notify the people to not panic or there's a fire on the 2nd floor or anything. They said oh I know.. WTF.. I know. I just left with family never to return to that one again.
I loved the location; close to Universal but also a short drive from Hollywood and Warner Brothers. Walking distance to small restaurants and gas stations. The bed was the most comfortable hotel bed I've ever slept in! And the view from the 20th floor was incredible. The room needs some updating. Dings and marks were visible on the walls and the bathroom showed definite signs of wear.
Clean beds. Parking is expensive ~$55 for 2 days. And if you decide to leave the hotel for few hours to cruise around town, you will pay even more for hotel parking. Nothing is free, not even the coffee in the room. $30 breakfast (basic) per person is ridiculous!
The room was clean and large. I was able to get an upgrade for free. The room had a mini frige, microwave, coffee maker. had a small sitting room for watching TV. Towels were small and hard. I was quite pleased for the price, other nicer hotels nearby were priced higher and also charged for parking and internet. This also offers a free breakfast, but I had to leave before it opened. Towels were small and hard.
Room was clean, bed was comfortable, includes TV microwave and fridge. Free continental breakfast starts at 6 AM but I didn't try it out. Parking lot does get full but I had no issues with parking. Talking outside on the balcony after 11 PM
Great price, clean, location, breakfast nook. Small tub.
The man who checked us in and woman who checked us out were nice. My coworker and I stayed in two rooms for a business trip. The price was better than some of the other higher name brand hotels, but it didn't look as bad as the motels in the area. The bathtub was very dirty. Soap scum and I'm not sure what else were on the bathtub, and the spout could have been cleaner, as well. The sink could also have been cleaned better. The beds seemed okay.
The gentleman at the front desk was very pleasant. It's a basic motel that could use a refresh and an exterminator. As soon as I walked into the room, I noticed a strong, sweet odor, which I assumed to be the solution they use to clean the room. Eight hours after I left, I began noticing red welts on right arm and on my face in the characteristic linear pattern associated with bedbugs. Suddenly the sweet smell from the night before clicked (bedbug infestations are often associated with an overripe raspberry smell). My right hand swelled to almost twice its size and I itched for days. I will not be coming back.
The location was good: close to Old Town Pasadena. It was nice to have free parking and breakfast included. The bathroom was somewhat dirty, the coffee machine didn't work, and we were on the first floor and there was a lot of noise from the parking lot. Plus, the door jam was not sealed, so light seeped in from outside all night, making me wonder about the security of the room (114), since it seemed like someone might be able to push something through the door jam and open the top security latch. So that I could finally sleep without thinking that someone would break in, I finally pushed a chair under the door handle and tried to twist a hanger around the top latch to reinforce it. When I told the (nice) front desk person about these issues in the morning, he only apologized.
Friendly staff and clean room. Older hotel that is under construction, not aestthetically pleasing in particular outside area of premises.
We accidentally left an expensive hair straightener in the room, and called to get it back. There was no trace of it.
