We enjoyed the views, location, breakfast and amenities. Comfortable rooms and a good price. There was one staff member that was very rude and inconsiderate! She greeted us on the first day. We arrived early before check-in and was told that we would have to wait for 4 hours or call back at 2pm (3 hours later) to see if the room had been cleaned yet. She seemed very annoyed and was very short and snotty with us. In other hotels that we have stayed in they asked the cleaning crew to clean our room next, but not here it was very much when they got to it, and you should be happy with that. Well we had a 3 month old baby that was a mess after flying and being woken up early to make the flight, she needed to rest. We had to wait for 4 hours for our room to be ready with an hysterically crying 3 month old l. I was also appalled that she asked us to call her, umm we are the customer, shouldn't you call us to let us know it's ready rather than us calling you after already doing our part? I didn't get her name but she was an older, short, heavy set, white lady with a very large mole on her face. (Not being mean) I will not stay here again if she is still there. Its a shame because the rest of the staff were very very friendly and made us feel important and valued.
The staff was friendly and helpful. The location is also ideal. The room was super nice. The pool was closed during most of the stay.
Big (fist sized) hole in bathroom door and missing the smoke alarm. Creepy place.
At about 9 p.m. I made the reservation on Kayak and called the Budget Inn to ask if it was okay that we'd be rolling in at about 10:30 p.m. because we were at a concert on Portland. The male working front desk said he'd stay up longer until we could check in. After driving to the wrong place, I called and said it'd be another 25 minutes or so and he was totally ok with it, so he was super nice. The staff was obviously super nice, called us at 11 a.m. to ask if we'd be staying another night because it was time to checkout (really polite there) and the check in and check out process went really fast. Overall, I wouldn't mind staying again because the price was reasonable given it being really last minute. Facility had some downs, cigarette burns in the sheets, the patio was kinda dirty and there was paint chipping in the rooms. Those things wern't prominent and I barely noticed. There were quitelling a few smoking tenants that were right by our room so there was quite a few cigarette butts around the patio area. Also, a homeless man was making himself a place to sleep undercover but he was pretty close to my car so I had to check midway through the night.
The night check in staff (a male) was very friendly and was very helpful. The bed was comfortable, microwave and refrigerator in the room was nice as well.. The burns in our bedspread and sheets as well as obvious cigarette burns in our non smoking room, and burn marks on almost every surface of the bathroom. The smell of stale smoke in the room, and allowing people to smoke on the nearby patio, which drifted into our closed room all night.
Excellent food. The beer selection could expand. The shuttle service had limited hours that did not work with my schedule and forced me into a costly alternative for airport pickup.
They had great holiday decorations. Fabulous service. The accompanying restaurant was also great. Live piano and fireplaces for New Years. We would love to go back. Day after New Years bar / restaurant closed at 8pm! Wish they would have put up a warning sign.
Super friendly staff; excellent restaurant and nice indoor pool area. Rooms are large and clean, decorated like a log cabin or a mountain lodge. Very good value for a low fee. The birdsong in the hallways is a little cheesy. The suburban industrial park area is not very attractive.
Loved the food and the bird sounds I'm the hallways! The staff was stellar! Sunday breakfast wad good but cold.
Great service, beautiful bar and dining was perfect with excellent prepared food!!!! There wasn't anything to dislike !!!!!!!!!!!!
The staff was very accommodating when we were checking in - we arrived before check in and they let us check in early. The walls were thin and our neighbors had young children that were quite loud.
Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Beds were warm and comfortable room was clean. It was clearly and older hotel and the staff said they were ready for of a renovation no refrigerator in room, when I mentioned this on departure the front desk apologized and said if we mentioned this after arrival they would of brought one to our room. Was hard to control temp in room no thermostat just on/off manual up/dwn control for heat.
Everything.. Staff was great and pleasent. The location was a bit difficult to find or butter yet to get too!!
The staff was friendly and willing to help. On the Kayak website, it said that this was a 4 star hotel and it is clearly not to that standard. It is at best a 3 star hotel and closer to a 2.5 star. The hotel was old and run down and in desperate need of a renovation. Due to its condition, I thought that the value was low (too expensive for what you get).
Available for last minute reservation Unhelpful staff, poor location, very noisy.
The view Dirty bathrooms, dirty carpets, mismatched furniture, noisy lobby and public areas, broken air conditioner, staff in dirty dishevled street clothes, carpets rippling in the hallways, horrible paint jobs, bad food at high prices, no help to move out of stifling hot room to a room with functional air, got locked out of room on third trip to transfer to new room
Nice area Undergoing renovation that is much more than described. The hotel should not be open.
Convenient location 1. Kind of shabby 2. Clean enough but not up to the experience of the night before at another best western in the area 3. Breakfast options way too limited unless I paid a lot of money. Seemed like a cheap money saving thing for the price.
The view. I didn't get my requested balcony facing the river.
The room was very comfortable and clean. Staff was helpful and cheerful even at midnight. Got the wrong key the first time, but staff brought me a correct one quickly. The only place to sit and talk with associates was in the restaurant.
Great for dogs! Clean and convenient. I was worried because the building looks a bit old, but rooms were fine and grounds were nice. Across the street from a river with walking paths and a park.
I liked the partial wall in the room that separated the bathroom from the rest of the room, and I liked the balcony. I felt deceived, complementary breakfast to me means, "Hey over night guest--we have a buffet of food for you, on us." Well that wasn't the case, the hotel offered a $4 off coupon to the restaurant attached to the end of the building. I would guess that they have never eaten at that restaurant for it is incredibly expensive and would know that a $4 deductible is like spit in the face when you have no budget for breakfast. Rough start to the day, to say the least.
We appreciate that you are pet friendly. Some grass on the property would be nice. We liked having a restaurant on site. The food was excellent. We would enjoy having breakfast inclusive. The location and view was beautiful. We will stay at your facility in the future., Having to walk our pet off of the property site, especially at night.
We liked the room. Loved that it is pet friendly. The lobby and halls were freshly remodeled, they are doing some new cement work on the driveway at the entrance. Grounds were nice. The breakfast coupon was nice compared to them offering a Continental breakfast. We always had a meal, but there are some options on the back of the coupon that was for breakfast, no cost. The sausage links are good. Parking lot is full at night, soome people crossed over the painted lines with their trucks making a parking spot useless.
Location close to downtown and nice park. Parking should be free.
Bed. Size of room. Alarm at 12:03am. High cost of food. No wifi in room.
We brought our dogs on this trip ... three large dogs. The staff didn't bat an eye and in fact came around the counter to pet our dogs and gave them each a treat.
We had stayed for four nights during this period of time we had hosted our daughter's wedding reception in the discovery ballroom. Undoubtably the most impressive aspect was the incredible service from every Hilton representative. With our individual party the hotel also had the PTA, Fireman Convention, a motorcyle convention and another small wedding. Even with all of this going one we had felt like our celebration was the only one-impressive! The sound of the trains.
Pillows and blankets were feathers. No water in the rooms. Need water bottles in the fridge.
Great spot. Fun walking to a couple bars and restaurants. Solid Hotel. I'll be Back. My breakfast Rocked!!
Comfortable beds, pillows. Staff very friendly. Breakfast selection limited, although staff for breakfast area excellent keeping up with everything. Website stated hotel updated, however, the carpet was the only obvious new updating we observed in our room. Noise level very high @ this hotel for traffic, other rooms, etc. even on different floors Very basic hotel, no extra amenities.
These are not suite rooms. Just one room no chair a small very small loveseat iand office chair. Quite uncomfortable if you're going to stay anytime at all. We were told it was a two room suite did absolutely positively was only one room. Only one bathroom sink. No other sink. Not at all as represented in the pictures or when I talk to reservation. Very disappointed. Staff was great
The night staff really went from and beyond to help us with my baby. Also the rooms were comfortable and breakfast was pretty good.
The room itself was great. Clean, comfortable, and cozy and certain amenities are already in the room. I didn't have to phone down for an iron and iron board. (Lots of other places make you do that.) Every staff member we encountered was friendly. The pool and workout room were great bonuses. The best bonus was the breakfast. Every morning there was a full breakfast available that every member of my family enjoyed. Even the coffee was more than decent (and I can be picky about coffee.) Another bonus, the whole building is smoke free. The ONLY thing was some guests were stompers and you could hear them stomp past. Not great but not a big deal. Its not like we ever heard our neighbors conversations. It may have been just these particular guests. I don't blame the hotel for this.
front desk staff, cookies, and breakfast. price good. also, took my dog! n/a
The hotel was very clean. Friendly staff and rooms were updated and very comfortable. Breakfast was a plus for us as a family. Breakfast had several items to choose from. Also walking distance to the mall and restaurants. They definately need more staff at the breakfast lounge. The one lady had a hard time keeping the food items refilled. People were either waiting for one thing or the other. She was trying hard to keep up. I saw customers even offered to help clean the tables seeing she was running to and from the kitchen.
We found the staff very friendly and the room clean and well maintained. We were able to bring our Grandchildren over and let them play in the indoor pool. They loved it. They did have an issue with a guest down the hall. The manager had to come up and ask them to leave. Not really a bad thing though as we saw they quickly took care of issues.
Good Breakfast. Clean rooms. Helpful staff.
Cleanliness Kids running in hall and slamming doors
For a visit to Portland we chose this nearby hotel because we always like the idea of a suite and this seemed like a great fit. I had some hesitation later wondering if being in Vancouver was going to be a problem, but on the contrary found it a great location for our various jaunts around the area. This greatly improved my opinion of a Best Western (Plus) property. We received excellent service, the breakfast was well above average, the bed very comfortable, and the suite very roomy. For my money, and from my experience this was a great choice.
Place was clean and bedrooms were very nice. Room service was always late in the day.
Comfortable Asked for more than 2 towels, got 3, really
Comfortable cleanness breakfast
Nothing. Was very loud and did not sleep at all
The outdoor scenery is beautifully maintained! Sufficient easy parking. Lobby is very welcoming! Staff is very friendly and helpful. You would never know this place was dog-friendly its super clean! The rooms were spacious, clean and quiet with comfy beds. Bathrooms were clean and well supplied. Breakfast has a nice set-up with many options to choose from. This hotel is truly an ideal place to stay! We will definitely stay here again!
We hadn't stayed at La Quinta before and were very impressed with the value. If you want a really comfortable bed and shower, this is the place. You have a microwave and frig in the room, the room is large and they are pet friendly. A full breakfast buffet in the morning was not what we were expecting and it was truly fabulous, included in the room charge. We'll be back. It's pretty minor, but there weren't too many amenities in the bathroom, such as lotion. There was shampoo and soap, but that was it. There were stains on the main room and wallpaper was peeling a bit in the bathroom. Nothing that would affect your stay, but just a few things we noticed.
Great breakfast buffet, cookies and coffee complimentary in evening. Beds were soo cozy! No hot tub
Comfortable beds, clean facility, provides breakfast. Traffic noise from nearby I-5, pool closed.
I love the ambience when you first come in to check in, the front seat last was so welcoming and the cookies are the best lol specially after a long and tiring drive it's appreciated. The breakfast is wonderful knowing you have a hot rest meal to start the day and the lady assigned very accommodating like a mom. I'd love to stay there again. Thanks for having us.
The staff was friendly and helpful, and the complementary breakfast was very good. Every day there were some hot options in addition to the regular breads, pastries, and cold cereals. The location is convenient, with easy access to routes I-5 and 205. The room in general was very worn and shabby, and not dirty, but not really clean either. Our room was very dark with inadequate lighting and electrical outlets. It was almost impossible to read in the room, especially after sundown. There are too few lights, no overhead lighting, and the lamps are ill positioned. Moreover, if you have more than a couple of phones or computers that need recharging regularly, you have to get creative to find enough outlets to plug in the rechargers - such as unplugging the lamps which makes the room darker. Parking at the LaQuinta in Salmon Creek was WOEFULLY inadequate. If you return to the hotel after 9 pm, good luck. There are businesses on each side of the hotel that have signs posted that hotel guests' cars parked in their lots will be towed at owners expense, suggesting this has been a long-standing problem. There are too few parking spots for the number of rooms at the hotel, and not all guests are considerate about parking carefully to fit as many cars in the lot as possible, so some spaces were wasted every night. The staff had no work-around suggestions, so get in early or be prepared to wing it.
Relatively inexpensive Very loud, right next to freeway. Continental breakfast ran out of some items pretty early every day. Bed and pillows very stiff.
Quiet and location comforter inside the duvet is too warm for summer. Hilton needs to rethink their bedding.
If you had your records straight, you would know that I cancelled this reservation. So I didn't stay there. Bookings.com screwed up my reservation, so the hotel didn't have it recorded. So I had no place to stay. So I went home instead. Please do not pass along this rating of the hotel. I'm sure it is fine. I just didn't have a chance to stay there because of your booking error. Also, you really shouldn't have Poor as the default. I didn't change any settings there, so this will come through as a very negative review, when it should be a review about your service, not the hotel.
Staff excellent No bar Food at breakfast very average and cold
Everything was wonderful in terms of the amenities and quality of of the amenities. We did not sleep at all. We could hear movement from the other rooms around us and heard everybodies toilets fluch throughout the night. We did not sleep at all!
Comfort of room No complimentary breakfast.
What I liked about my stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was that the room is very clean and comfortable.
Plenty of parking. Quiet stay as this is mostly business folks. Always 2 people at the front desk. The bathroom door will collide with the front door, bad design.
Comfortable beds, clean, friendly staff Limited wine and food selection, minor shower water pressure issues, low ceilings
Excellent room for the rate. Comfortable, clean, and quiet. It's a little far from Portland
AC was very cold and not enough blankets at all, cable was not great
Nothing. At all because we were not allowed to stay Everything ..rude from the start told me we had too much trafic last time i stayed and was not allowed. To stay
Good breakfast, pleasant staff, very comfortable bed. Although we were on the freeway side there was no noise to speak of. Generally very quiet. The room had a fairly strong bleach smell, which dissipated somewhat over the 2 days we stayed. Perhaps they should cut back on its use in the laundry. It is located a fair drive from Portland.
did not like worst stay ever I sent it to the company Heat of room , booking and got wrong room , water in shower broke cold water only . breakfast was bod
Fingernail on tile around hot tub, pool/hot tub area smelled of sewage; hallway dirty; breakfast ok; 2 of 3 staff friendly (Aubrey was awesome); eggs dry and rest of breakfast just ok; hair on bathroom floor when got there (so, not ours); I likes that they had dumbbells in exercise room; liked that pool and fitness rooms were 24 hours See above
The staff were friendly and the location within walking distance to shopping and restaurants. We had booked a king suite, but at the last moment needed two queen beds. The staff was very accommodating. Though the outside of the hotel looked older, the room, lobby and interior were newly renovated and clean. Good value in a neighbourhood of other hotels and amenities. Continental breakfast was very good.
Bed was comfortable. Staff was helpful. Check in was fast and easy. Pool and spa were closed due to renovations. Walls are thin.
Everything was as expected. Smooth check in. I had a couple of questions. Nicely answered and fixed
Very convenient to shopping, good restaurants, & close to Portland.
Excellent comfort for the price and the staff was extremely friendly.
Very helpful staff. Very clean. Bed was very comfortable. Beautiful view from room. Soft and thick towels and sheets. Poor Wi-Fi
office clerk was very helpful the first night, my TV did not work becuase the cable box was missing a wire. They gave me a free DVD to watch instead. the second night, the cable was fixed but it still malfunctioned. the office clerk needed to visit in my room 3 times to fix this, and he was very nice about it.
We have stayed many times at this Hotel when we come from Eastern WA to visit our Portland Oregon Family. It is in a good location for where we need to go, has a continental Breakfast which helps cut down on expenses. The Breakfast has the same hours 7 Days a week unlike other hotels we have stayed where you have to remember the hours for breakfast based on what day of the week it is. They have Coffee, Tea, Hot Chocolate and water available all day. Would be nicer for extended stays if each room had it's own Refrigeratir and Microwave. Yes you can request them for a price, but it is something most Hotels offer in rooms now for no extra charge.
The room was nice. The staff was excellent. The Jacuzzi was very nice. I wish my room had a fridge.
Friendliness of staff.
The location was the main reason for us as I have family in Oregon City. The bed was the most comfortable I have slept in and so were the pillows. Breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice. I did use the fitness room which was also very good. Overall a very pleasant stay!
The bathroom mirror and toilet were obviously not cleaned before we checked in. Also, the bed skirt had obvious stains which were very noticeable, and one was quite obscene. The only reason for my 'good' rating was the breakfast and breakfast staff. The lady tending the buffet was an absolute gem!
Rooms we're pretty nice Location was poor. Situated next to an adult video store. No outside patio or place to sit outside. But even if they had, being surrounded by busy streets, it was really noisy outside. Also, I don't know for sure there were BEDBUGS...but I woke up 2 mornings w/ a bite. 4th morning I had multiple bites. I checked mattress & didn't see any evidence. But needless to say I was freaked out.
Had afternoon and evening snacks as well as a waffle+ breakfast. I loved the covered parking and luggage carts! Pretty clean... ....but the room didn't get cleaned one of the days we stayed,, so I complained, but they did manage to get it clean the next day. And our room (really, half the rooms) were VERY close to the freeway, and so traffic-noisy. Ask for a room on the other side of the building.
Nice accommodations. Super (and free) breakfast. Offers light supper (complimentary) Monday - Thursday evening, such as soup and salad and other special menus (one menu per night). Nice, accessible business center. Loved having full kitchen in-house. Great wireless Internet access in room. Spacious bathroom. Good fitness room and options. Also tennis court. Nice ambience in lobby. Great for business travelers who need to get work done. Adjacent to mall with major department stores and close to restaurants. Pool is outdoors only and probably available only during warm weather seasons.
I love the apartment feel! Full kitchens with full size fridge, real dishes and utensils. Stove top, dishwasher and FREE laundry facilities!!! Comfy beds and tons of movie channels! Nice, free breakfast each morning- Not just muffins and coffee; eggs, waffles, bacon, bagels, cereal, fruit, etc. This place is also VERY pet friendly!! There really isn't much that I didn't like.... the laundry facilities are great, however...I did notice that a couple of the dryers do not work very well. They don't heat up like they should. And there is always at least one washer or dryer that is out of order.
Great room great cookies friendly staff
Great middle class hotel. Good price, nice rooms, everything was updated.
The price was fantastic for a large room with two queen beds and a sofa. The facility was clean, linens were lovely, and the bed was comfortable. The staff was friendly as well!
We were there to celebrate out anniversary as well as go to an appointment in the area. We knew we wanted to eat at Mcgrath's which is just a parking lot away. The room was large they provided a complete desk and 2 TV's outlets on each lamp was awesome as well. We didn't use their food service. I would recommend and stay here again. The bed was too soft for us, the toilets seemed very low to the floor neither of these things were a big enough deal to make us not stay again.
Attended the Portland Antique Show at the Expo Center. We spent the night after shopping all day and planned to return to the Expo the next day. The motel room was clean, the staff was friendly, the beds were comfortable and we enjoyed our stay. Walking distance to restaurants, close to Portland. We would definitely stay there again.
