Windbrake House was built in 1936 and was commandeered in WWII for the orchestration of the Mulberry Harbours for the D-Day landings. The house is situated at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac and has parking for six cars. It has been furnished and decorated to a high standard and is a fabulous base for entertaining and reuniting or a family holiday. It has a side gate in the garden which leads to a neighbouring park and the sea front. All the beds are very comfortable with thick quality mattress's and the bed linen is Egyptian cotton for that luxury night in. Portsmouth Dockyard, Gunwharf Quays and the Isle of Wight, which can be seen from the upstairs rooms are all within easy access. The small charming village of Alverstoke is a short walk away and we are surrounded by great marina restaurants for a night out.
