Cons: Toiletries were almost non-existent, a little expensive

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Madam Rose is very accommodating. She has the best value to offer than other random people around the area. Accommodation: Super clean, peaceful and wow. You always get a clean drinking water, coffee and tea. Plus you have the filipino vibes in the hut. Food: request for their native dinner and amazing breakfast. Great value!!! and for sure the most safest area to eat plus quality servings. Transportation: She has a rented motorcycle which is very convenient for travelers and with great value. Tour Guides and activities: Top with great value and way honest compared to the rest. Staff: They are super cool and you feel safe always. You can get along with them. Thank you Madame Rose for the amazing stay. We never forget this.
Cons: Nothing much.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the house is cute
Cons: none
7.0 Good
Pros: They supply water, tea and coffee and towels. Also it is a 30 second walk to the sea where you can see turtles and coral reefs.
Cons: You must be aware that when booking a shared room, it is very intimate because you are sharing a proper bedroom and bathroom with strangers. This is unlike normal shared rooms where the bunk beds usually have curtains, personal lights or personal plug sockets and a locker for valuables. Staff definitely weren’t as friendly as we read about in the other reviews. The area is so noisy at night as the overnight receptionist sings and watches loud videos on his phone all night. Also there are chickens very nearby that cock-a-doodle-do all night (not just in the morning like normal) and there were lots of dogs who barked and howled a lot. If you want a peaceful night sleep this isn’t the place for you. There are no restaurants or bars or shops very nearby, you have to walk at least 10 minutes for anything and the walk is through the locals’ gardens with dogs and chickens and the paths are not lit up so it can be scary at night.
7.9 Good
Pros: They helped arrange our Osmena Peak and Kawasan Tour. Thanks for that!
Cons: All good. Tips for those who will book here: it'd be best to rent a motorcycle (it will cost you the same to pay for a public tricycle) for half day use (which the hostel also provides) since it is quite far by walking to stores like 7/11 or the public market. We knew that though when we booked so it's fine :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was very clean and comfortable.
7.5 Good
Pros: For the price, it’s great! A little out the way but that’s why we chose it! Can walk to nearby restaurants and beach. Canyoneering was organised in advance and great activity with the children.
Cons: No mostiquito nets on the beds and this area is very bad for mosquitos.
7.1 Good
Pros: I like the nipa hut style of the rooms. It's very clean and quiet. The people were friendly and helpful. They were accomodating. There was mineral water and coffee at the table. They even lend us their kitchen utensils so we can eat inside. They cleaned right away when we requested. Overall, it was a nice place.
Cons: It was a bit far from Chillis bar and the main beach. We had to ride a motorcycle going home because it was too dark at night and the gate going to the bars is closed. It was far from places where we could get food/groceries. We had to go to the center of the city to get those. Wifi signal is weak.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness and cleaness, the staff is nice and willing to help, hot water for shower available
Cons: not convenient, far from the centrer, snorkeling and diving places, restaurants etc.. but just near a little beach without corals; dogs and roosters wake you up at 5am, but maybe this is everywhere in the town
Moalboal Shaka Traveler's Place - Moalboal - Building
4
8.9 Excellent (478 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: View from hostel is great Clean, comfortable
Cons: The staff could be more helpful with answering common questions The facilities like snorkeling gear and paddle boards are broken and seem like not fixed. For a place that charges more money per night they should have it fixed and provide such amenities to guests
7.5 Good
Pros: We loved the location as it overlooks the water and was easily accessible. It also felt very secure.
Cons: Facilities need a bit of work. All the snorkels that are advertised were broken and our sink was coming away from the wall causing it to leak. If you don’t ask for your room to be cleaned on the first day, it won’t be done for the remainder. The room ended up sandy and we had to ask for more toilet roll.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Nice bed room and large bed, lot of room. Pretty view from the "dining room". I liked the breakfast (different options available). Quite place. Lovely people very helpful. The situation was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing breakfast of your choice No rooster noise Located RIGHT ATthe beach Clean, quiet, spacious room I was the only occupant of the room for 2
Cons: That I had to leave :)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is a plus for sure, easy to access to the ocean, diving shops and local restaurants. You also can rent snorkeling equipments inside the hotel. The staff is really nice and friendly, esp the Korean owner could give you many good suggestions to get around moalboal. You can enjoy the amazing sunset in your room as well if you stay at beach view room. Anyways, it’s a great deal for the price. Breakfast is also included, just during high season you don’t have much choice than low season.
Cons: They need to purchase some more powerful dryers for the guests! Sometimes, the shared restrooms have ants, but not a big deal. Also, if they can provide laundry service will be better. Overall, it’s good enough.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Double beds in the dorm! Friendly staff, central location
Cons: No vegetarian breakfast available.. Privacy curtains around the bed in the dorm would have been nice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything about the stay. The owner is a kind man.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place really exceeded my expectations. I had the best sleep my entire 2 month trip here. Waking up and eating breakfast on the terrace over looking the ocean was amazing! It was so clean and the breakfast was above my expectations considering it was included! The own Atom was so nice and such a good host! I would definitely recomend and stay again 100%! I also really liked how they replaced my towels and sheets everyday which was nice! The AC also blows very cold which is a plus!
Cons: The only 2 things i could say is just the distance from the main road to the hotel but worth the walk. And if the shared shower could add a little more shelving to put clothes and towels. It was hard to not get a lot of things wet bc of this. But still a really clean bathroom and shower!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location. Closed to everything, 5 mins walk to Sardine storm. And massage and restaurants are all around. It's quite as it's closed to the end of the alley. The coral right in front the hotel is pretty healthy and there are a lot colorful fish. You can snorkeling there by yourself, without any cost. The host is helpful, he help us to compare the cost and arranged transport from airport and Danao. Tips: you can rent a kayak from the bar beside, it costs PHP350 for 4 hours only. Full of fun. You can enjoy sunset in the hotel. Everything is good.
Cons: Cannot meet you earlier. Haha

Cons: Nothing at all except no handsoap provided.
8.8 Excellent
Cons: I didn't like anything, in general. The place was great. But putting a bidet would improve the CR.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a good price for such a lovely room! Our room was lush! It was very homely with a comfy bed, working TV, fridge, kettle, table and chairs, hot shower, etc. Also the room was really light and super clean! It was perfect for my boyfriend and I as it had everything we needed plus on a budget. The women who work here are so friendly and bubbly and most importantly very accommodating! Great location...only a short walk to the beach and many restaurants.
Cons: Nothing, it was all great!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome location, literally on the beach (important to precise that it is the most beautiful beach of Moalboal), delicious and varied breakfast. Plus, you don’t have to rush yourself to have your breakfast, as it is the case in some hotels. Super nice and helpful staff. You can rent a scooter directly at the hotel. We enjoyed our stay so much that we added an extra night ! I definitely recommend this place to anyone going to Moalboal.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location
Cons: Basic facilities
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The house reef is teeming with Coral and fishes. We even saw a turtle while snorkeling the drop off. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good and relatively inexpensive.
Cons: The wifi is choppy but it is a common thing among hotels around the area. There are no showers at the entry to the resort from the beach so you cant wash off the sand from the beach, except for a little pool to dip your feet into. The beach as a whole was crowded on weekends.
7.0 Good
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful and the restaurants were beach front
Cons: Shower wasn’t great and we would have liked coffee making facilities in the room so that we could sit outside our room and enjoy the ambience first thing in the morning
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The friendly nature of all the staff, owners and other residents made for a perfect week to unwind. Located in an idyllic setting, perfect for snorkelling, diving and relaxation rolled all into one. Added bonus of a day trip swimming with whale sharks and visiting the beautiful Kawasan falls, all arranged for by the most helpful staff at this resort.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Located right behind White Beach. The beach was quiet in the week except when people arrived in the hope of a good sunset. At the weekend it was busier with mostly Filipinos. The chalet was pleasant albeit quite dated. The staff were very pleasant.
Cons: I found the WiFi was poor here and at other locations at White Beach. The restaurant closes quite early.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was so friendly and welcoming from the time we arrived to when we left. They arranged our island hopping tour and it was really wonderful--we saw sea turtles, coral reefs and the sardines. We loved the food, the environment and the fact that the beach was right outside. You can do some snorkeling there too. The bungalow itself was lovely. Really comfortable bed, big bathroom and nice shower. They cleaned daily and replaced towels as well. We loved everything about our stay. Thanks, Ravenala staff! <3
Cons: We have no complaints about our stay! There's not too much nearby the resort so if you want to go into Moalboal town you'll have to get a tricycle. The staff said it costs 150pesos but the drivers usually insisted on 200. Not really a big deal in the end, though.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly, helpful and professional staff and owners. Literally everybody went through great lengths to make our stay as comfortable and as memorable as possible.
7.5 Good
Pros: Location is amazing! Such a shame about the beach.
Cons: The shower wouldnt fix in a standard position as it was broken.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything else was perfect. Quite. Clean. Comfortable. On the beach. They have their own diving master and equipment. Even the food was great!
Cons: You need to take a trycicle every time you want to go anywhere but the white beach (about 150 pezo one way)

Pros: Cleanliness
Cons: Charging you for the room before check in. Charging you for extra person that wasn't in the property. No toiletries
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - I ve decided to stay in Moalboal during my visit to Cebu since it was exactly in the middle and close to everithing. Also the small little "village" of Moalboal is Tourist friendly! There is so many restaurants, Bars, Spas, Diving Centers, Activities to do.... I have enjoyed and loved my stay in D Geko. - After a deep research for a hotel in Moalboal, I have to tell that is very dificult to find a nice clean room with all the facilities. But I luckily found D'Gecko! It is very good located, close to the sea and happening places. You dont have to go too far to hire a motorbike, it is just in front of the main entrance. - The staff were so friendly and helpful, I want to mention specialy the gentleman who use to be in the reception during the day time (I am so sorry I forgot your name), he actually helped us with his go pro underwater cover, since our one broke. Thanks to that gesture we could click nice videos and photos during our trip to Oslob to see the Whale Sharks. -I stayed in the standard room, there is actually no vue but the room is much bigger than what I was expecting from the pictures on the web. It was also very Clean with a very comfortable bed, a closet, a mini fridge and many other facilities. I loved the colour of the hotel white and blue as if you are in Santorini hahaha. -I also liked the rule of no shoes inside the hotel. -Unfotunately the breakfast is not included but they have a small restaurant just on the entrance where you can have it. I would definetly go back to D'Gecko and I would als recomend it to my friends and family. But the next time I will go for higher cathegory with the beautiful vue of the Ocean.
Cons: Nothing all was good but I would have prefered a package with breakfast inlcuded.
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was great. It's a 2 minute walk to the beach, food and diving. The lady at the front desk that checked us in was awesome along with other staff there.
Cons: My family and I absolutely did not appreciate the mean glares of the old eastern European owner of the restaurant next to the hotel. We asked him a question about the menu and he ignored us and continued to look at us as if Filipino's don't belong in his restaurant in the middle of the Philippines:( His lost (as there were ten in our party) and maybe not very good for D'Gecko as the restaurant and Salamandre share the same courtyard/round about.
6.7 Good
Pros: Closed to the beach where turtles and sardines can be seen.
Cons: Very difficult access. Next to a local disco with loud music until 2 am.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good rooms. Clean rooms. Friendly staff. Into the places you need to be! Very good - price value
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is excellent. Comfy beds and really cold aircon. Shower is hot when needed.
Cons: You had to take off your shoes? lol

Pros: The best place for relaxation, Silent and Far from any Noise Of City. And A best Romantic place for couples ❤️
Cons: Unfortunately, Their Swimming pool found Cockroach which Eoww...for our swimming experience that night.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was exactly like the photos. You could lie in bed and look through the large glass door entrance and see the ocean and coconut trees. The staff could not have been nicer, always friendly and helpful. The view/scenery was gorgeous, if you are into taking photos or selfies then this place is perfect.
Cons: When low tide there was no sand, it revealed rocks and a mud like bottom. Although the staff tried very hard to please, most meals were not very nice and there were not other restaurants to choose from.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, quiet place.
Cons: No Beach facilities, far away from a sandy beach
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staffs are superb, all are friendly and polite, they did their best to accommodate our stay. They helped to plan for our excursion acitivities, and make sure we have everything we need. The hotel is quiet and perfect for a much need relaxing vacation, there is a great and protected house reef just perfect for snorkelling. This hotel is perfect for us as we do not want to stay in busy Moalboal. We definitely will be back next time with our parents.
Cons: Actually there is nothing I don’t like about this hotel. They do have their limitation as they have a small kitchen and the menu for each meals are limited. Well that is not a problem for us as we are fine with their small menu, on top of that Ronda market and Moalboal town is just 10 and 15minutes motorbike rides away and there are plenty options there. They provide transportation to town as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing staff attends to all your needs. They arranged all activities, transport, babysitter etc. Very comfy villa with pool for the kids and crisp sea right in front
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything except Wifi. We 6 adaults and two kids spent 2 nights in villa. You can definitely choose this place. U will not regret it.
Cons: Poor Wifi
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and beautiful place, resort run under a good maintenance. Bryan and his team are very helpful. The restaurant provide basic menu, but for me eating is not an issue, also you can try to ask them to cook something special only for you. Rowing boats, snorkeling near by the villa can see a lot of beautiful corals.
Cons: In this natural environment remember to do anti-mosquito measures.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: There is an amazing house reef directly in front of the property. We saw turtles and black tips as well as beautiful corals. The food was good, and the mango rum! Great, helpful staff, peaceful location.
Cons: The bed was a bit firm, but that’s being picky. Everything else was lovely.
The Blue Orchid Resort - Moalboal - Building
9
8.5 Excellent (640 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The Blue Orchid Resort was recently renovated in 2015, making it a fantastic choice for those staying in Moalboal. This hotel makes a great place to kick back and relax after a long day of sightseeing. Airport pickup can be arranged by the hotel upon request. If you demand a high level of service, our guests have indicated that this hotel has excellent standards. This hotel is one of the most popular choices in Moalboal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was more than perfect. The managers are always available and patient. The food is so tasty and not expensive. The sight, the rooms met our expectations. I deeply recommend this resort.
Cons: We appreciated everything.
2.9 Mediocre
Cons: For a 4stars resort, the facilities are just a blah. I wouldn't be surprised if I paid only 25% of the price. There are far better resorts that are cheaper than Blue Orchid. The location is also far from the activities that Moalboal really has to offer. Don't let the pictures fool you. Food prices are too expensive for the quality of food they serve. Rooms doesn't seem secured enough as you only have a sliding glass door with curtains as door/protection. The room also is very basic given that we chose a "suite". No TV, refrigerator, vault or whatever basic appliances you'll find even in the most common hotels/resorts with the same rate. They also ask for "gratuity" etc.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Management extremely accommodating
Cons: Terrible access road makes going to town unappealing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was not my first stay in Blue Orchid and it was great again. Clean and comfy rooms, staff is superb, willing to help you with anything you want, delicious meals and drinks in restaurant and crystal clear water and first class house reef. Simply, this is perfect place for relax.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff filipino and managers were so amazing. The property is relaxing and the managers who show you how to dive as well were beyond amazing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Food and hospitality.
Cons: Not enough towels. Poor massage.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Having our room overlook the ocean was beautiful. The staff were really friendly and able to inform us about all the activities on offer. We went swimming with the whale sharks, scuba diving, canyoning and snorkelling. The guide for our try of scuba diving was really patient and calming for first timers who were a little nervous about breathing deep under water. Would return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hosts! We only had two days at Moalboal and the staff went out of their way to accomodate us to ensure we got to everything we had planned!
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I had an awesome time at Blue Orchid! I had only planned to stay 2 nights and ended up staying 4. The staff there is amazing. I loved the personalized the experience they offer to each guest. From the get-go, they were always on point, even the little things like sitting down to check you in or having a conversations about booking expeditions felt tailored to me and that didn’t go unnoticed. Matt and Emily went above and beyond to make sure I enjoyed my time there, booking me on last minute expeditions and suggesting experiences I hadn’t considered. My lack of itinerary may have been frustrating to some but they accepted it with ease and made my trip one of the most memorable I’ve had. I must tell you, some of my native Filipino friends are even jealous of the things I got to do. Steven and Michelle also did an excellent job in organizing the dives and interacting with me in the evening hours. Getting to sit down and chat with them felt like hanging out with friends and surely added to my desire to stay at the resort longer. Their knowledge and familiarity with the reefs and surrounding dive sites made each trip seamless and enjoyable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We loved Esmeralda, the tame rufous hornbill! Our kids loved the swimming pool. We had the pool-view room which was lovely and spacious for a family of four. The best were the snorkel excursions organized by the resort: we saw the sardine storm, turles, loads of tropical fish and beautiful healthy coral reef. Thanks to Morgan and Rory for taking care of our family during these trips!
Cons: restaurant quality was so-so

They helped us arrange the trip and you could borrow snorkel and fens. We could leave our bags after we checked out and also borrow a shower before we left. Really nice people.
Cons: Hard beds and bad wi-fi.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible, private beach and comfy rooms. The people there are very nice and helpful and the food is very good for a reasonable price.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Hut 16 has the most incredible direct sea view I have ever experienced in a hotel, hostel or resort. Stairs lead you directly to the sea, with an amazing reef right there. Never seen so many turtles in one spot before :) and they give you snorkeling equipment for free. The huts are simple, but well maintained and clean, with apparently recent bathroom renovations. Scooters are for rent and also well maintained.
Cons: The food is simple, bit they tell you about that from the start, so no surprises there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are friendly and speak enough English to care well for English speaking guests. Location is amazing, down a track right on the water with access to some fantastic snorkeling- including turtles and lots of colourful fish and coral. Its a 150php tricycle into moalboal ($5) up quite a long dirt track that you wouldnt want to walk in really hot weather or in the dark, which sounds like a pain but it’s what makes he property feel so safe, secluded and means the air is fresh. You can hire snorkel gear for the duration of your stay for 300php. It’s also close to the canyoneering at Kawasan falls and the beach where you can see the sardines. The huts/rooms themselves are very traditional but well made bamboo structures, have a fan which was more than enough to keep you cool and night but air con is available as an extra cost. Staff keep track of your hires/food and bill you at the end of your stay rather than pay as you go- we found the amount to be correct.
Cons: Lots of mosquitos, inevitable on the waterfront just bring lots of repellent. Restaurant never had any fish but rest of the menu was tasty.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Views are incredible and the ability to snorkel right outside your villa. Staff helpful organising laundry service.
Cons: So many insect bites no matter how much insect repellent was used! Additional charge for air con. Difficult to find anyone at bar/restaurant & reception. Walkways poorly lit, had to use a torch. the location, next time I would stay at Panagsama.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything else
Cons: By the Third day the shower only had limited pressure for 2 mins then would dribble out. All good though.
7.9 Good
Pros: Spacious room, nice location right on the beach, the best snorkeling spot! About 30 meters out into the water there's a huge drop off with a coral wall, amazing. We saw 5 big turtles and lots of colorful coral and fish in like 2 hours. It is right in front of the Homestay. Also the Homestay is kinda built up like a resort, with a restaurant, bar, a lot of nice cabins etc.
Cons: The rooms could get a touch up, there were holes in the wooden floor and some moult in the bathroom. Not necessary for a price of €24 a night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing u have a private beach that u can access to and it's near to all the nice places in the south of cebu.
Cons: There is no room service at all , but still, the staffs were very friendly and they were clear about the service since we arrived there

8.5 Excellent (582 reviews)
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Value for money. Fantastic relaxing vibe. I would liken the facility’s to “Glamping” - glamour camping. The set up helps you to feel your treading lightly on the planet.
Cons: I hope the facility is maintained going forward as a couple of things looked like they could do with some love and attention.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: You feel in the ambient that it's a wonderful place, and the owners just make your stay so pleasant.
Cons: That I couldn't stay longer.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super relaxed place! The room is big and the bed comfortable Cool chill out area with hammocks and sitbags The breakfast is really good The dive shop is top! Per is professional and a funny guy. The equipments are brand new and good quality! We really enjoyed the dives with him!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best staff. Really friendly and efficient. Very clean and tidy. Good location close to a snorkeling spot less busy than pagansama beach.
Cons: Better fan in bangalows
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Entering this little quiet garden away from the hustle and bustle of Moalboal town was the beginning to a great stay on Cebu island. It is perfectly located for day trips to all the natural attractions around Moalboal. The owners of the guesthouse and their staff can assist you in booking different trips, renting bikes and diving. The evenings resting in the atrium-like garden was the best way to end eventful days. Highly recommended for groups of friends but also solo travelers who will easily make new acquaintances during the communal breakfast.
Cons: -
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff and owners. Nice room, comfy bed, nice outside chilling area with hammocks
Cons: Lots and lots of mosquitos both in the room and outside, fan on a constant rotation above the bed, so was very hot while sleeping as fan was not always on you. Location was out of town (not a bad thing as such) but a scooter is needed! Breakfast was okay, just toast but unlimited.

Pros: Feel like home! I was sick and need a place to rest, so I was here for a few days. The staff is incredible friendly and helpful and the environment was very friendly. May May one of the staff was helping me a lot while I was there. She took me to the doctor, helped me to buy medical. So I couldn't be more thankful. The room was nice with air condition and shower. Free water, coffee and tea. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Jerome and Simon were two of the nicest hosts we have come across. Fantastic and welcoming people who were a joy to be around.
Cons: A few too many bugs in the hotel and rooms though, would suggest they close the air vents in the corridors and close the front door as much as they can to reduce the amounts of bugs getting in. Apart from that 10/10
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This property is managed by the sweetest staff. Tours and scooter were greatly arranged by them. We had a problem with our scooter and we were promptly rescued. We checked out to go on a tour but when we came back we were still allowed to use the facilities. Drinkable water and coffee are always provided. Easy walk to the beach. We couldn't be more thankful to the staff, to find such kind hearts is really a blessing.
Cons: Bed is not really comfortable. Not enough toiletries in the bathroom. Noisy air conditioning.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff; they make an effort to make your stay comfortable. Always smiling and love to make conversation about local foods and culture...
Cons: The internet seems weak in some of the locations at the resort, especially in the seaview suite areas. This is an important feature for many foreigners. To be able to communicate online with relatives at home is a great comfort. I suggest upgrading your internet service as it makes an impression on your clients when an important issue arises at their home country and internet is fast and reliable...
8.0 Excellent
Pros: it was quiet and comfortable staff were friendly food was decent
7.5 Good
Pros: Hotel is well located
Cons: The food wasn't that good and the portions were too small.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Helpful staff to arrange scooter hire and massages etc. Free 15min use of kayaks and free snorkel gear was great
Cons: Poor Wi-Fi
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The service of counter is great, the staff also nice. They have Chinese version notes in the counter ~! We checked out at 3:30am, and the breakfast was already prepared and packed well, that's pretty nice!!!
Cons: The check out inspection takes a little bit long time. But never mind, because that time many people went to check out.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed our stay, the staff was very kind and helpful, the snorkel equipment free renting was great, and breakfast is nice.
Cons: Location: very quite, a bit far from central restaurants and bars.
7.5 Good
Pros: Clean rooms, free drinking water for everyone & courteous staffs.
Cons: Location, no enough parking space, pool was dirty (hazy water) with leaves and twigs when we were there.
7.1 Good
Pros: Staff were nice. Table outside for every room. Right on the water.
Cons: It was overpriced in my opinion. Air conditioning was quite weak. Bathroom was basic.
Solar Lodge - Moalboal - Building
14
8.4 Excellent (212 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff are exceptional at solar lodge. Meillisa at the front desk is an absolute legend. She’s so patient and helped wait until my booking loaded online to see what worked better for me in terms of price. Tessa helps clean the room everyday and it’s always spotless. Can’t fault the staff- they are so wonderful. The rooms are very clean but a tad bit small. There is no window as such so that would be a plus but in a small space the owner of the lodge is trying to pack in bang for buck. The bed is more a concrete block base with a futon on top. For the price point however, was really happy with it as a solo traveler.
Cons: The bed mattress could be a little bit thicker and maybe better WiFi would be helpful. Constantly had problems with the WiFi which kept dropping off every two mins.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice, small but clean room, has hot showers, very near to the beach and food. Perfect for budget travelers looking for a simple, clean place to sleep.
Cons: Disco Bar next door was very loud. Till early morning on Saturday nights
7.9 Good
Pros: Quiet place but close to everything.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large comfortable bed. Good Aircon. Good location. Excellent value for money. Room was very clean. Transfer to Cebu City was organised at a very good rate for us. Location is close to some nice restaurants.
Cons: The toilet began to leak on our last night which led to a smell in the room. We had to kill a few cockroaches.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Considering the price, it surprised us with how clean and nice the place was (newly built?). Panagsana Beach was basically right there, white beach was just 10mins by tricycle taxi (200P one way). The street with all the tiny shops and restaurants was also right there, the food was delicious and cheap. The cleaning lady was VERY nice and accommodating, reception answered emails quickly and checkin/out was fast and east.
Cons: First night, we were not careful about garbage and kept it in room so we got plenty of ants inside, BUT! After we were more careful and using the bugspray from reception, they didnt appear anymore.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Spacious, so great from what we had expected, relaxing, friendly staff, clean room, almost perfect if you want to stay longer.
Cons: Quite far from the beach but great location from the bus stop.
6.7 Good
Pros: The receptionist was friendly and welcoming. The place felt safe in the evening even if it it's within the local neighborhood. This pension house is also close to the town center where you can shop and find more dining options. I booked two rooms for me and my parents to attend the wake of my late grandmother. I particularly chose this pension house because it' s the closest to my aunt's house in Alcantara where my grandmother's wake was.
Cons: For a pension house with no recreational facilities like gym or swimming pool, I think it's a bit overpriced. There's nothing around except for a comfortable place to stay. The blankets they provided were too thin and the room's airconditioning got really cold in the evening. I requested for additional blankets but they gave me a curtain to use as a blanket. I was hoping for a comforter.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Super friendly and helpful staff, especially owners! Daughter was sick and they took us to after hours doctor. Huge comfortable rooms with good hot showers. This is a new property. Good breakfast.
Cons: Very little. Some street noise
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely, large rooms. FAcilities look new. Everything works. Very clean! Very nice staff. 2nd time I stayed - there are places closer to the beach, but nothing as nice as Ralph's for the money.

Pros: The friendly staffs welcome us for the late check-in. The air con is in good condition and the room is big. The location is good which is near to 7-eleven and 750m away from McDonald’s and supermarket. Overall the service is good.
Cons: The room floor is abit dirty when we first step in the room. Other than that all is good.
6.7 Good
Pros: Friendly staff and service

5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff was kind but price is to high for Philippines
Cons: If you come for holidays without diving them pass it they have no beach to swim
4.2 Okay
Cons: Dated decor, no charm, awful food
6.7 Good
Cons: Price food was high
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location for snorkeling. We saw so many turtles just in front of the hotel. The dive shop is very well run and so easy to access. The sardine run is unmissable! Side note that we don't approve of the whale shark feeding in Oslob - it negatively impacts the animals' migration habits.
Cons: It is fifteen mins from any other bars/restaurants. The resort closes down by ten so don't expect any nightlife.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Pictures look nicer than the hotel in reality. Maybe the only plus point is we always left the hotel way before they start serving the breakfast so when we were there, they prepared the sandwiches, fruits and water for us the night before. However the sandwiches were not very delicious though.
Cons: 1. Location: isolated and out of nowhere. It is very dark at night and the sign board is not visible. Our cab driver had difficult time to locate the hotel. Even though the hotel has transport service like shuttle bus to the town but it is not free. It costs 100 peso per person per time. 2. I thought the hotel was fully booked but when we were there we only saw 2 or 3 couples. Still The room rate is so high. In the evening there were not many lights turned on. Even though they have a swimming pool but we couldn’t swim around 7.30-8 because it was so dark. 3. The rooms were not very excellent. There was no phone in the room and our rooms were at the extreme end so whenever we had any enquiry, we needed to walk all the way to the receptionist near the gate. 4. They have 2 restaurants. The price is premium but the food is not good. Some portions were smaller than my palm.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The swimming pool.
Cons: Slightly more pricey for food and services.
7.1 Good
Pros: The bar has games which is fun (the music is not good though), the swimming pool and the bay area. I would suggest the staff to inform guests about the bay area, we only found out after snorkeling the last two days that by going futher away from the bay, the snorkeling experience is completely different: beautiful corals and fish and some more importantly I spotted one turtle after the wall. It is breathtaking and had we known we had to gp a bit further in we definitely would have gone snorkeling every day.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: I paid for this resort via booking.com however the hotel staff told me that my credit card was declined 4 times then charged my other credit card for the 4 night stay so I was double charged. I have not yet been refunded...they are working on it. They said the person who made this error is new in the company. This place is fraudulent and should not be recommended by booking.com. Also the resort tried to charge me 700 pesos for a meal I did not order...good thing I caught that...my signature was not even on that receipt. They apologized and did not charge me...but only because I caught this. Lastly, the dive shop over charged me for my 5 year old daughter snorkeling...overcharged me by 1,300 pesos because she should have received 50 percent off. Price is 2600 pesos but she should have been 1300 pesos and they tried to charge me in full. This resort is fraudulent and tries to cheat and RIP off tourists. Should be zero stars and I would not wish this resort upon anyone because they are dishonest and make errors in the hundreds of dollars. Do not stay here. This place must be investigated.

Pros: The room was very spacious with a lovely view. Everything is made out of bamboo to fit in the tropic atmosphere. The owner, Justin is a lovely man who’s willing to do everything to make your stay perfect!
Cons: It’s a ECO-hotel, this means open windows. So you will meet some bugs during the night.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Justin is a really nice host! The garden of the Eco village is so pretty and quiet, it's nice to relax there! The dorm was nice and clean. We really loved to stay here!! Also the three puppies who live there are really cute
Cons: Little far from the center

Pros: Great location outside the town and in nature under the beloved mango tree! Beautiful Japanese style garden Cool bamboo architecture The place has a relaxing atmosphere with cute puppies to entertain
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hostal
7.1 Good
Pros: 1. The ambiance, very relaxing. 2. The quietness, nothing but sounds of farm animals, birds, crickets and occasional motorcyle are to be heard. 3. Justin is so accommodating. 4. The landscaping, the swing under the mango tree is just perfect. 5. Justin has puppies and a kitten. They're adorable.
Cons: 1. It's far from the centre. 2. Far from the beaches 3. Public transpo is a bit hard 4. The place is a bit secluded, the nearest neighbor is not that near really. 5. With it being eco-friendly, this also means that windows are open and bugs or other stuff could get inside the room.

7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location very close to the restaurants and shops yet quiet, really nice owners and staff, the room has verý clean and cleant every day. It was nice to be able to use the kitchen and free coffee and water all day
Cons: We were surprised when we arrived, the double room is much smaller than the twin room. I don't think it was clear from the picture nor the description that only advertised 1m2 difference... they did offer to move to a twin room but we wanted a double bed, just wished it was clearer from the booking
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Really nice rooms with plenty of space, bathroom and air-conditioning!! Staff was really helpful and allowed us to leave our luggage before check-in (they even bring them in the room as soon as it was available). Free coffee!!!!
Cons: No common areas, just some tables under a roof. We wanted to rent a scooter, but they didn't have available ones.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - Maricel (staff) is such an amazing and caring woman. She made us decide to stay 3 more nights than we planned! She can arrange everything for you. Thank you!! - The cottage is clean, well maintained and in a great location. Rent a motorbike to go to town or just walk to panagsama beach (5min).
Cons: - Charged too much for stain in the sheets. But thats just policy the staff couldnt to anything about.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was extremely spacious and the common area outside had all the amenities needed like drinking hot water supply, tea and coffee as well as a fridge that is free for all to use. Hosts were always ready to help in anyway they could if assistance was requested. A very small lot of land so only a few guests at a times, unlike the large resorts. Also a big plus is the cable tv
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely cabana, clean, spacious, good air con and shower pressure. Staff helpful and friendly. Well located, 10 minute stroll to beach and bars and restaurants. Very good value for money.
6.7 Good
Cons: There wasn't any water pressure to shower with. No coffee except instant and yet they had a coffee pot at the desk. No ice for cold drinks even though they had a freezer. The freezer was really disgusting looking when I looked in there, yikes!!.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staffs are friendly and accommodating. Clean, comfy, and very good place to relax. Restaurants foods are superb.
Cons: NONE.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: diving package was the best we found because of safety (Dive Master Jeff & Dive Instructor Aileen) + price + private group (only my group of 4 people + 2 others) staff was kind and food was great! I love the beach front access & view - very relaxing. You can also walk it (but only during low tide) to white beach (bring your beach shoes cause some parts are rocky shores while others were sandy). either way, it was great to be there and have access to the beach. room was huge, clean, and can accommodate 3 perons! It was great to have breakfast by the ocean as well.
Cons: room was great! only wish 2 things - stronger water pressure in shower & bedsheets to be plain white (although photos are accurate and room/sheets/towels were very clean) they provided food during the dive - maybe a suggestion to provide fruits instead of plastic wrapped biscuits & use reusable cups and a water jug instead of water bottles.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is a perfect venue for divers and snorkellers. Staff were amazing. Helpful and friendly! Also perfect for a peaceful atmosphere. ( Not too big so not too crowded!)
Cons: I would love a kettle to boil some water and a choice of either a cup of tea or coffee available in my room for late nights or early mornings. I would like fresh towels at least every alternate day and I would like the bathroom/ shower cleaned daily, automatically, unless I request otherwise. I would also like the facility of a safe for money, valuables and legal documents e.g. passports.
7.0 Good
Pros: the beach.
Cons: air-con too noisy.
7.1 Good
Pros: Nice view, nice bread, free kayaks
Cons: A bit run down.
7.9 Good
Pros: - The staff are great. All very helpful and friendly. - The house reef is incredible. - The dive school is well run - special mentions for Steve and Arlene. Thanks both for an amazing week. - The beds are comfortable. - It is affordable.
Cons: - At times, the staff children were a bit much. I understand that this is their home, but on one occasion, they walked in to our room whilst my partner was getting changed. - Our room could have been cleaner - it was dusty when we arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was superb
