The hostess is very welcoming and friendly, speaking good English- it's great when you have things to chat about. Dinner was amazing- traditional Japanese! The room was comfortable, and the futon bed was cozy and warm. Two choices of pillow- a softer 'Western Style' and a 'Japanese Style' were provided. It was very cold (-5C during the night) and the room's heater worked very well, as did the hot water bottle that was slipped into the futon bed while I was at dinner- nice touch. As with most Japanese places, the bath and restrooms were spotlessly clean. Breakfast was on par with the dinner experience and was delicious- set me up with a good amount of energy for a full day's hike.
The room was really, really lovely, warm and clean. The hosts were incredibly kind and welcoming. We had the best time! I would recommend this to anyone!
The proprietress was very helpful and cheerful and spoke pretty good English. While meals were simple, they were healthy and tasty. Rooms were cosy and comfortable.
Beautiful location with great meals!
Everything was perfect. From the location, to the owners, the landscape, the walks in the mountains. The BATH - the bath was pure pleasure. And the food. Oh... the food. Perfect, amazingly perfect trip outside of Tokyo (easy to reach when you understand how the metro works). And just, the best thing you can do for yourself. Thank you so much.
