Breakfast was fine, there was everything we needed and more.
We stayed in the Balmoral Suite which is spot on; Bath, separate shower, wash basin and WC all very clean and almost new. However, the room overlooks a busy roundabout but is double glazed and thick double curtains so with these in place not a sound could be heard; a very peaceful night: Problem was no air so we became very hot. The bedding was spotless but as is the practice in many establishments the immediate first covering is a duvet in a duvet cover fold the duvet down and the body becomes cold, pull it over and the temperature rises too high because of the cover of what tog I know not, but for us it was far too high. Why not start with a sheet this can then be followed by duvet in its cover. Opening the windows could have been a solution but then I guess the traffic noise would become the problem. Please do NOT get me wrong the suite was great but the heat in the bed was a problem.
We had a 5 star stay to be honest and the price was amazing value.... the staff were incredible. Adam the manager greeted us with a very warm welcome and after a long day at the trade exhibition centre Dean could not do enough for us upon our return, Nothing was too much trouble and the evening meal that we had was AMAZING! i would highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem and we will be returning for sure. we stayed in the skipton room which was fantastic value and the bed was sooooooo comfy!
It’s a great place very comfortable bed, we stayed in the skipton room overlooking the garden at the back very quite. We ate in the restaurant last night and the food was excellent and very reasonable, the staff were very friendly and helpful nothing was too much trouble for them . Breakfast was Lovely plenty of choice excellent service from Adam the manager . Really enjoyed the whole experience shame it was only for one night will definitely come back here again.
Great staff very helpful, good food, nice room.
My room was very comfortable - great wet room and very comfortable bed. Not the best view out of the window but that can't be helped. The staff were all very nice and a special mention needs to go to Helen who ran breakfast and check out single handed. She was interested in what guests were doing whilst staying at the Castle and asked the following day how the day was. Breakfast was excellent and I had 2 evening meals there which were very good too.
There was no tea in my room and when I asked for some I was handed some loose tea bags although I was also given some sachets later. I also had to ask to have my milk replenished. Wine by the glass was overpriced.
