food was very good tea or coffee making facilities in bed room would have been nice
We had a pleasant stay in a country location in a well designed room & bathroom and caring management.
staff very helpful and the food of a very high standard n/a
The peaceful setting in the countryside, the standard of the food was very good, the staff were incredibly friendy and very helpful
The Breakfast was very good. There were many choices and different flavors of Tea. The Location was great, very quiet Countryside but the Freeway and town were not far away. There was Nature, Sheep and Horses right outside. Free Parking. The room was rather smelly. Whatever it was, it should be taken care of.
Good size clean bedrooms and a gereral homely feel.
The helpfulness of the staff bearing in mind that I did not arrive until very late in the evening No
The large and well furnished room. Extra facilities such as washing machine and bicycle hire. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast was poor. No choice of size and style of hire bicycles one of which needed attention.
The atmosphere is nice. It makes you feel at home. No
Very friendly staff, nice big pool
Welcoming staff, countyside location, swimming-pool, free coffe and fruit in the ground floor.
Surroundings, nature The restaurant, only 5 main dishes in a 4star hotel restaurant. It was too easy to choose...
Very convenient to a stay in the town of Steenwijk. Most guests will arrive by car, but it's only a 15 min. walk from the train station and 20 min. walk to/from the town center. Try to set time aside for that most Dutch activity: biking!! Easy and cheap to rent a bike at the train station. There's a forest to the North, heathery landscape to the East and unique Giethoorn with it's wetlands and small lakes to the south. All roads/trails well marked, icecream, snackbar, cute eating places everywhere.
very comfortable and relaxing no
the garden no
good all round experiance
friendly and helpfull staff- large, clean rooms with a desk-good breakfast-good bed an TV-free internet-good value for money. the signal of the free internet is not always stable or strong enough.
Wifi internet connerction was deplorable
Great area and good people did not have double beds
All staff were very friendly and accommodating safe did not work
Checking out by 10:30am was inconvenient. All other hotels allow you to check out by 12am.
Kindness of people and good ratio quality/price The wrong communication between web channels and the hotel.
What we like best about staying at Huis Ten Wolde was the friendly family who own and run the place, the delicious meals in the restaurant on the premises and the absolute cleanliness of the room. We would stay again when in town! Lovely view from the room which was in the back of the hotel, top floor. No, not really!
The hotel is designed as modern farm house, which feels great. Lovely library. Located in the countryside, the hotel is quiet & it's fun walking in the area. It would be nice to have a kettle in the room. The restuarant is very pricey, hardly a variety for vegeterians. Since it's remote - there are no real options to dine out.
It is one of the most friendly and obliging small hotel we have stayed in, the owners could not have been more helpful and obliging which helped us to make this a holiday to remember and would recommend this to hotel in a beautiful area in Holland.
Very warm and friendly welcome from our hostess. The location was quiet, peaceful and beautiful. The hotel room was impeccably clean with air conditioning. You can choose when to have your breakfast and the quality of the food was perfect. The hostess also regularly checked whether we were enjoying our stay, which was a very nice touch.

Excellent for those who want to enjoy the countryside in luxury. The staff is very hospitable and are committed to a pleasant and comfortable stay of their guests. The garden offers a great variety of plants, herbs and fruits as well as a good view on the nearby farmlands. The rooms are spatious and very well furnished.
The location is in a very beautiful and quiet place. Without GPS there is no chance to find it. The room is very small, the roof is in diagonal, lying on the bad is a very dificult
Friendly, helpful personnel
friendly staff relaxed atmosphere no
I liked the fact that the room was clean and that the staff were very friendly. I did not like the absence of a full-length mirror (very impractical when you are attending tango workshops) and the very small basin in the bathroom.
Large, well appointed, very friendly and helpful staff. Ideally located near train and town center.
Very handy for the train station and town centre yet located in a quiet area. I particularly liked the wet room, far more convenient than a cramped shower cubicle. Breakfast was also very good.
As we arrived two hours early at the hotel we were greeted with a welcoming simile and shown to our rooms. No
proximty of the meeting point at Mepple after , difficulties for reception noisy by the station and traffic
We don't like anything - and my wife and I can not recvommand this hotel to anybody When we arrived to the hotel at 1600, the hotel and reception was closed. The weather was warm about 28 C - but the hotelroom was minimum 30 C - and of the 4 windows - only a little high window was possible to open. No aircondition At night the temperratur in the room was min. 28 C - and it was impossible to sleep. And a transportable ventilator in the room cut'nt do enything about it.
Next to train station
The town of Meppel was Nice & hotel was next to station. Breakfast
The owner was very helpful when the internet did not work The rooms where tiny and way over priced. The internet connection was intermittent, but only in the two end rooms that we had.
Clean room. Less than 1 min. from the station. Breakfast time for weekend (8:30-) seems to be a bit too late.
My client stayed there 21Apr-01May. She had a horrendous stay there. She was robbed and was physically injured as the robber knockedher down on the pavement. The police thought that the hotel staff was in on it.Her room was not cleaned until 4 days into the trip. The owners kept telling her her visa did not work and she had to call long distance to Canada to find out that nothing was wrong with it.It was in a horrible part of the town and she would never recommend it to any woman travelling alone. The police felt she was watched and that there was some planning in the robbery between staff and patrons of the hotel.
I only had to endure it for one night The room stank of smoke, it was noisy and generally rundown. Avoid if at all possible.
Very small bathroom and the furniture in the room was old.
