Pros: Great location and a great starting point to explore the Westfjords. Lovely staff and hotel which has been a former school. Would have loved to find out more about its history.
Pros: Great food, helpful staff. I believe they also manage a small campground nearby. The surrounding countryside is beautiful and the pool was terrific.
Cons: Wifi was limited to the common area. This wasn't terrible, as I met several nice people while sitting in there. But it would have been nice to have wifi in the rooms as well.
Pros: We rented two rooms in Hótel Laugarhóll. The host Matey (hopefully I spelled his name right) met us at the front desk, gave us the keys and showed the property - rooms, pool, hot spring, kitchen. He was very friendly and cordial. The dinner buffet was good. Breakfast buffet was included in the price which was good as there is not much around as location was somewhat remote. The hotel was clean. They have a school style gym where you can play ping pong or shoot some basketball. Overall I would recommend this place.
Pros: wery clean, nice rooms
Cons: i was mising a freezer
Pros: Would live to come back there in winter.
Cons: Quite far from any place.
Pros: Fantastic hot tub and outdoor warm swimming pool
Pros: Nice location, especially for the large swimming pool and hot pool. The area is very quite and the staff very kind. There is a quiet room with books, free wifi and a cool vintage decoration.
Cons: The dinner buffet was good but a expensive.
Pros: They have very comfortable beds and a delicious breakfast buffet. Great service.
Pros: Dinnerbuffet strongly recommended, breakfast good, adjacent community pool very nice

Pros: Staff was very nice.
Cons: Room was a little small but nice.
Pros: Breakfast was good.. location was great
Cons: room could have been larger
Pros: the rooms are fairly small and the bathrooms are shared, but i didn't mind that at all. very comfortable, very cute. great location near the Witchcraft Museum and the BEST pizza restaurant i've ever eaten at. the free breakfast is great too!
Pros: Frindly efficiency
Pros: Room was clean and bathroom sparkling clean
Cons: Stairs narrow and sterp
Pros: Nice guesthouse to get ready for an amazing whale watching tour!
Pros: We had room with sea view and it was nice. The hotel is a little bit old but the room was quite renewed. Good breakfast.
Cons: It’s not so important but it was written that in the room there was TV. There was no TV... The breakfast area is very small and it’s crowded it’s difficult to find a place to sit down.
Pros: Staff was friendly and breakfast was fine.
Cons: I liked it. However, the room was very small.
Pros: Very friendly staff!
Cons: I guess we were a little disappointed. Perhaps mostly with the "city". Holmavik has very little to offer (city-wise at least). The hotel was fine compared to what the town had to offer, but to us it was sold as better than it was.
Pros: very simple breakfast, worse than elsewhere in Iceland, eg. one salt shaker shared for six tables
Cons: Miniature old dormitory without any equipment, hostel rather than hotel. There is no table, chair, wardrobe or shelf in the room. No ventilation in the (very small) bathroom. Everything is so miniature that you don't even unpack your suitcase. Compared to more than ten other hotels in Iceland clearly the worst experience.
With a stay at Visit Holmavik Guesthouse in Holmavik, you'll be within a 5-minute walk of Holmavik Harbor and Museum of Icelandic Sorcery & Witchcraft. Featured amenities include coffee/tea in a common area, microwave in a common area, and refrigerator in a common area. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: New modern hostel where there had been a lot of thought into what a modern independent traveler might want. WIFI great. TV in bed space - great. Headphone jack in bedspace - great. Curtains for bedspace gave great privacy.
Cons: Where possible - dorms for same sex would be great. I shared with two snorers which was not good. Also - curtains on the bedspace - the curtain hooks need to be a little stronger, they were broken.
Pros: the kitchen had everything you need to cook a proper meal the bed was very soft and comfy the showers were clean
Cons: the bedroom room was sparse and uninviting everything echoed so sound carried whenever someone beeped into the foyer or opened or shut a door considering the sun goes down at 23.15 it would have been nice to have block out light curtains in the room
Pros: Clean and practically. Not more, not less.
Pros: Location and cleanliness
Cons: Shared bathroom
Pros: Hólmavík guesthouse is centrally located, just next to the road and the kitchen is well equiped for cooking. We had booked two rooms and one of them was lovely, with huge windows and a bright atmosphere. The other one was the total opposite, dark and uninviting. That‘s why I would advise to check on the pictures what kind of room you are booking. The whole guesthous is also self-service, meaning that there isn‘t any staff present and you‘ll just recieve a code for all the doors by phone call when you arrive. That is convenient but can also be annoying when you go to the toilet at night as the doors are very loud.
Cons: The worst part was certainly the basement. We wanted to watch Netflix in the common room but the service was so bad that we had no secured connection. The basement is also very cold and dark and that‘s also where the kitchen and dining room are so don‘t expect anything inviting.
Pros: The property was very clean and the kitchen was very well equipped. Property had four showers and two toilets.
Pros: It was very clean.
Pros: It was clean and warm. Kitchen and shower facilities were good, though they are shared with other guests. I appeared to be the only guest when I stayed there so had the freedom of the facilities. It is fine as a place to stay for a day or two if you are using it as a sleeping stop on a tour.
Cons: It is listed as a "guest house" which I think is misleading. In fact it is what in the UK we would call a "youth hostel". You are given a door code and room number by text and you don't see any staff. It is a very basic room with just two single beds and a desk. I did notice that there was a sign saying that you could find yourself sharing with another guest but on the occupancy level I saw you'd be unlucky not to have your own room.
Pros: The hosters are really nice and not complicated. There are enough showers and bathrooms and the kitchen is good. We had everthing we needed.
Cons: The rooms are getting really bright because there are no dark curtains.
Pros: Clean and comfy. Value for money.
Cons: Haven’t seen staff makes it all a little bit anonymous. Would have preferred attached bathroom of course.
Pros: The views from the bedrooms were amazing.
Cons: The bedrooms were a little bit dirty under the beds.
