There are many tourist destinations that offer all types of luxury accommodations in amazing places, but the International Hotels Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa takes the idea of luxury travel to a different level. Cozumel is one of the great tourist destinations and getting there via plane or on a cruise means travelers are ready to relax or let their hair down. The hotel is the perfect place to stay when doing all the different activities in Cozumel. It is centrally located which means that you can get to dive sites easily along with hitting the links. If you’re looking to take advantage of spa treatments, the hotel has plenty of different services available for you. When it comes to activities, Cozumel has no shortage of options and a hotel in the thick of it is perfect for travelers. The rooms in the hotel fit the definition of luxury. The hotel has recently been remodeled so everything is completely modernized. Whether you’re in a classic room or a suite, the view of the water is breathtaking and easy to view thanks to wide windows spanning the length of the room. There are plenty of dining options available as well. Faro Blanco, Alfredo di Roma Trattoria, El Caribeño, and Le Cap Beach Club all have diverse menus that appeal to all types of palettes. The dining is another reason why travelers enjoy the International Hotels Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa. When heading down to Mexico, there are many great options for travelers. However, when it comes to proximity to activities along with luxury accommodations, it’s hard to match what’s offered at International Hotels Presidente Cozumel Resort Spa.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had really good time in el Presidente. It is a wonderful place, modern, clean and relaxing. They had everything we need and the staff was very helpful and friendly. My wife took scuba classes and the school they are using is great. We will come again.
Cons: The room we originally booked was somewhat average. We asked for an upgrade to a different room and they made it happen, however we had to pay for it. The Wow would be if they were able accommodate our needs without charging us extra.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet and relaxing with a great staff. Great property and facilities!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff and the room are excellent, i have stayed in many hotels around the world and i have to say that this is one of the nicest one, they have 4 restaurants - great amenities and the staff is amazing. I will visit them again for sure.
Cons: The only negative is that they dont put pictures on the hotel booking sites as it really looks, its even better. Management needs to upload more pictures of this place, its really really nice!

Villas El Encanto - Cozumel - Building
9.3 Excellent (264 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Cozumel, Villas El Encanto is near the beach, a 3-minute walk from Dolphinaris and 8 minutes by foot from Palacio Municipal. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Villas El Encanto's staff are extremely kind, starting with the handmade welcome gift. You feel like family. Rooms are in one of six private or 2-3 suite villas on the lush gated grounds, along with the owners' home, eleven friendly dogs (usually in the back yard), and a resident peacock. We stayed in both the one-bedroom apartment with its own kitchen, and the private pool deluxe suite. Both were well appointed and comfortable; beds are restfully firm with a variety of pillow types. The one-bedroom apartment kitchen is stocked, including all kitchen needs - even a little cooler for a day at the beach. Birds are plentiful - as birdwatchers, we saw at least a dozen new species on the grounds alone including the endemic Cozumel Emerald. Flowering trees attract warblers and bananaquits. Local parrots visit briefly twice a day. Both the main and private pools are unheated but comfortable for a dip, at 5 feet maximum depth. Location is good - far enough from the busy area to be quiet at night, but close to the water and some nice restaurants. We walked most places within 30 minutes, and for ice, hot tortillas, or anything you forgot to bring with you, the Chedraui supermarket is just three blocks away (use the Mexican ATMs there for a lower withdrawal fee). The local tourism economy runs mostly on cash, but Villas accepts credit no problem. They can arrange for taxi to pick up and even local rental cars or dune buggies to be delivered to the door. Cleaning staff do a phenomenal job. The Palapa and its plentiful hammocks are oh-so-comfortable! Like us, you won't want to leave.
Cons: We didn't have anything we disliked enough to spoil our stay. Construction on two of the villas did make daytime noise but not before 9 am. Here are a few useful tips for travelers however. Hot water can take a minute of running the tap - lesson learned: leave the shower temperature in the private pool deluxe suite on warm while running the tap if not sure which side is hot the first day. We left it running on cold and wrongly convinced ourselves there was no hot water. :) Birds in the morning can be loud, though we enjoyed them, and louvered windows don't fully block outdoor sounds. The one bedroom apartment's kitchen area is quite narrow but sufficient; the private pool deluxe suite has a shared kitchen. First-floor rooms should expect a few ants, but it's a tropical paradise at your doorstep after all. The private pool is semi-private; it is visible from part of the grounds (though not where people usually are). Safes are provided in every room but vary in size; the safe in the one-bedroom apartment with kitchen would not hold even a large tablet, for instance, but the deluxe suite's safe would hold a small laptop.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Secluded secure, private location, close to shopping, and grocery. Less than a mile from ferry/main square. Perfect for someone wanting to avoid the beach resorts or for people who wants privacy. (Apartment) Very quaint, clean, basic rooms with large shower and purified water system. AC worked very well. Very friendly owners/staff. Private parking if needed. Lush grounds with bamboo and tropical plants. Peacocks were an added surprise. If renting the apartments, you should like dogs, as they will visit you often. The other rooms are secluded and the dogs do not have access. I enjoyed them. The dogs are also the security/alarm system and will bark at passers by. Overall great place if looking for clean secure friendly atmosphere in a secluded location, close to shopping and ferry service. Taxi to shopping area only 40 pesos or 15 minute walk.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect for what I wanted and other positive reviews were accurate. No surprise let downs. Perfect for people who want an affordable, clean secure room in a lovely tropical setting.

6.8 Good
Pros: The wait staff and cleaners were all extremely friendly. The food was excellent
Cons: The vacation planners made every effort to nickel and dime you and to see time shares. The hotel was very noisy.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property with fantastic amenities. Staff is friendly. Food at the restaurants was pretty good. We used Resort Credits to have a romantic private dinner on the and the chef's dinner, both were excellent. The dive op located on site was pretty good as well.
Cons: Service in the rooms was inconsistent. We paid more for Concierge level. It was supposed to come with nightly petit fours, but we only received them on a few of the nights. The coffee maker in the room wasn't working the first morning. We managed to fix it, but then they didn't consistently restock the coffee everyday. So I ended up dressing and walking down to the lobby every morning to get coffee. I didn't like that children were allowed at the swim-up bar. Bars should really be adult-only. Also, we used Resort Credits for diving. They tell you to check in and then go to the desk about using your credits, but if you don't book the diving ahead of time, it gets all booked up

10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved that the room had a hammock in it. It was great for midday naps. The location is great because it’s not in the touristy area but close to it. There are so many amazing non-touristy restaurants nearby. The host was super welcoming and helpful. He provided a lot of suggestions on where to go and what to do. There’s a kitchen that you can use when the staff aren’t using it. Also, I love that this place actually is concerned with sustainability and makes an effort to limit their footprint.
Cons: Nothing. It was great.

9.4 Excellent
Pros: 20 rooms all facing the ocean. Dive Op and great restaurants on site. Excellent staff. Close enough to town to walk, but not so close that it's noisy.
Cons: Room fixtures such as TV need updating. WiFi is extremely spotty possibly due to solid concrete structure.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Dive shop, staff, restaurant all very accommodating.
Cons: Sparse room decor

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Recently remodeled, rooms were very nice, new TV, rain showers, AC. Nice lobby patio area with pool, some evenings had music and dancing some were more laid back. 3 very nice restaurants,we could walk in anytime, but were were just offseason. Smaller resort so very easy to get around and very quiet. Beach and chairs/sunbeds nice area to snorkel and swim. Somewhat remote, cannot walk to town but several places to eat and Chankanaab Park within easy walking. Staff and service were truly amazing, never wanted for anything, and did not get solicited for timeshare.
Cons: No hot tub in the pool area but there are hot tubs in the suites.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Sometimes a little loud at pool area; request room that does not overlook pool
6.0 Good
Pros: Hotel is small, everything is close by.
Cons: Didn't like the lack of food choices. Only one place for breakfast and not a large variety. Only 3 restaurants for dinner with no option of buffet. Lack of description of special events. No information clearly defining where and when special events were happening
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Scuba dive shop is top notch. The dive shop is a top notch operation that have been in business a long time. Had not dove with them for over ten years but outstanding continued service.
Cons: Food was not very good in the restaurants. The buffet down by the beach was good however. Enough choices to satisfy most.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The remodeled rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. The food is mostly excellent, a cut above for an all-inclusive at this price. Our focus was on diving (easy boat pickup from the pier), so we weren't to concerned about the distance from town or the limited range of other activities. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.
Cons: There was a little confusion about meal times - we were told breakfast started at 6 AM but it was actually 7 AM. Likewise lunch started an hour later than expected, at 1 PM. The only exception to the wonderful food was our meal in the Italian themed restaurant - main courses were very average and the service was rushed despite many open tables. We found the overeager young time-share salesman a bit annoying but he left us alone after we expressed our disinterest...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Staff were ALL so lovely and attentive...the tour coordinator accommodated us last minute with a scooter which was so fun for my daughter. The beverage offerings were top notch, the rooms were REALLY comfortable~and included room service. The food was good too. The beachfront was cool, with beds to lie on with the sound of surf washing up against the rock/coral edge underneath them...once they finish it off with sand it will be really nice. (it had just re-opened in September after a year of complete renovations)
Cons: I took part in a meeting to consider a time share purchase where they promised it would not go over 1.5 hours, (Tim was very nice) but it was more like 2+ once his Manager stepped in to close the sale...we were given a snorkel trip for our time. Since it is a common occurrence, I recommended the Boat captain carry BarfBags for his vomiting patrons instead of letting them upchuck overboard to protect the reef and the snorkelers.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Newly renovated and reopened 9/1/2014. Very contemporary/modern. Customer service was great. Dinner food was exceptional and buffet was good. Biking, snorkeling right off the vicinity, water volleyball, Mexican Bingo, Karaoke. Gym was sufficient. Drinks were plenty. Free laundry room. Overall great experience!
Cons: Had to pull teeth to get bottled water, we drink a lot of water to stay hydrated from drinking alcohol but they held the water back along with towel service. The bath shower flooded out of the glass door since the ledge was high enough to keep the water in. The glass door kept hitting the ceiling shower head and was afraid to crack. Wished they had more activities that were included but it makes sense to make money around the island. The bartender seemed to cater to the Mexican locals compared to the foreigners.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent, highly professional and friendly stuff. Superb food. Renovated rooms. Kayaks on the beach. Convenient location. With a rental car (free parking available) we were able to go everywhere in minutes. We visited Cozumel 6 times, and this place is clearly the best.
Cons: That our vacation was too short...
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was the best!
8.6 Excellent
Pros: Quiet location on the island, great landscaping and integration of wildlife into the setting. Staff is great, English only customers will have no problem getting a helpful response to request. Liked our upper floor room overlooking the jungle.
Cons: Excitement over food and drink wanes over time, selection is okay, you find favorites, but there a pattern that emerges over the days. Be aware that internet access involves an extra charge, and it is high. I paid $4 for a single hour. There were options for daily and weekly with a lower cost per hour, but 24*7 access for a week was well over $100. Did not sit well with me. Have never considered cost of internet when selecting a resort, but will do so in the future.

No doubt the Occidental Cozumel will be back on the list of places to visit after an experience unlike many others.
8.0 Excellent
Cons: Not enough chairs at the "relax-Adult" pool. Lots of room for about 10 more, but they were full most of the time. Also, they would let people come and put down a towel or bag and the leave for hours. They need to control the inconsiderate guests.

Pros: Great staff - very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast. Nice bar and courtyard. Far enough back from main boulevard at the water to be quiet, but still close to many restaurants, the main square, etc. Good wifi. We stayed for two weeks, and were always treated well. Would stay here again. We agree about Oscar being awesome.
Cons: Can't really think of anything. Oh, because our room was on the courtyard, there was sometimes some noise from down below at night, but it wasn't really bad.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: New tv new air conditioning new mattress
Cons: No English news on tv
7.7 Good
Cons: This was the second time my boyfriend and I stayed here because of its close location to the ferry and our dive shop. However, our toilet base was cracked and it kept moving and as a result the entire bathroom began to smell awful. The cleaning people must have noticed it as well because we were called by the front desk and they told us they would relocate us to another room if we would have liked. We were leaving the next morning (about 6h after the call was made) so we decided against the hassle of moving all of our stuff. So although the toilet caused some inconveniences, the hotel staff was willing to relocate us which I thought was great customer service.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Free breakfast was great! Room is clean. Provided shampoo, soap, and towels in room. Location is right in the middle of town only a few blocks from the ferry terminal.
Cons: The hotel is next to a bar or music venue, so we heard a really loud cover band for a few hours that night.
