Overview Reviews
The historic Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills has been operating since the halcyon days of early Hollywood, in the 1920s and remains an iconic favorite of movie stars and the elite who make Los Angeles a world-class destination. Sitting at the intersection of Rodeo Drive and Wilshire Boulevard, it is the official heart of Beverly Hills and places visitors in the center of premier shopping, dining, sightseeing, and services. Because of its reputation as ultra-luxurious, the hotel features a long list of unmatchable amenities that include a Michelin-starred restaurant run by none other than master chef Wolfgang Puck, a pool modeled after one in a 1500s Roman villa, a stunning and award-winning spa, and services as diverse as business services, concierge, currency exchange, pet services, parking, and more. Naturally, the rooms are all a good match to the luxuriousness of the premises and visitors can choose from a stunning array of options. There is rooftop “glamping” for those who want a night beneath (and above) Hollywood’s stars, suites that range from penthouse options to premium guest rooms that offer excellent views, large and spacious floor plans with a separate sitting room and desk with iHome docking, a large marble bathroom with signature toiletries, room services, and Wi-Fi among other comforts. Less than 10 miles from the LA and Hollywood Burbank airports and steps from such coveted destinations as the Paley Center for Media, Rodeo Drive, Century City, and a short drive to the Walk of Fame, Getty Center and the rest of the city’s hottest destinations, the Beverly Wilshire, Beverly Hills is an idyllic base for an unforgettable visit.

Pros: It was close to everything! We were given comp passes for drinks and get a free pedicure (with a spa service). The staff were friendly and knowledgeable.
Cons: There’s no gym (although Equinox and Soul Cycle are literally around the corner. The bar was only open 8 p.m. to midnight, which meant you’d probably never go...

The pool is understated LA glam, and the Morrison Hotel Gallery offers rock & roll iconography from the best photographers of the last sex decades.

The Culver Hotel - Culver City - Building
7
9.2 Excellent (619 reviews)
Overview Reviews
The upscale Culver Hotel is a charming historic property in the heart of trendy downtown Culver City. It is famous for housing extras during the filming of the Wizard of Oz in 1938, and plenty of Hollywood stars have called the hotel home over the years. The general atmosphere is upbeat and friendly and appeals to all travelers. Located in downtown Culver City, on the west side of Los Angeles, The Culver Hotel is within walking distance of shops, restaurants, theaters, film studios, and galleries, plus it provides easy access to Hollywood, downtown Los Angeles, Santa Monica, and LAX. While there is plenty of foot traffic, the area and the hotel are not overwhelming. The amenities at the hotel are slim, only featuring a small fitness and business center, but the dining options make up for the lack of physical activities. Meals are served around the clock at the hotel and guests can dine at the communal table in the Crystal dining room, in the lobby in front of the cozy fireplace, or alfresco on the patio. A free continental breakfast buffet, daily happy hour tea, and nightly live music are all popular with guests. Accommodations at the hotel are elegant and unique with a vintage and modern design and look. Pillow-top mattresses, marbled desks, mini-fridges, and snack trays are in-room amenities. Rooms vary in size and shape because of the historic nature of the building but all were renovated in 2013 and feature up-to-date amenities. When the rich and the famous have maintained part-time residences within the hotel, and the hotel has appeared in movies such as The Little Rascals; the destination is a must-see.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Such a warm welcome from the moment we drove up. The staff is very is personable. The hotel decor is lovely our room was so nice and comfy. Very shabby chic. Food was incredible! Great location too! I can't wait to come back!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff was extremely helpful and friendly, decor was lovely and very interesting, very active night life scene with live music in the lobby. It was clear that most of the people at the hotel for the night life were not hotel guests. Location was excellent with many restaurants, shops, and bars within walking distance.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful ambience. Very "homey", with a gracious and polite staff.
Cons: The room was relatively small, with an overhead and noisy air conditioner. The "Velvet Room" at the hotel appeared charming, but despite the fact that the hotel manager recommended going there on a Thursday night, we could not get served there at around 9:50pm because they were "shutting down". Ironically, we had tried to order drinks at the Velvet Room bar 10 minutes earlier, but there were too many people at the bar to get our order in, and by the time we located a table in the bar, which was about 80% occupied, we were told that management had instructed the bartenders to "shut things down". Needless to say, we were miffed that the hotel manager had highlighted the speakeasy as a charming amenity of the hotel at the morning breakfast , only to be shut out from the premises prior to 10:00pm on the very same evening.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I had my 30th birthday at your hotel on my last night as a 29 year old “Saying Goodbye To My Roaring 20’s”!! It was the PERFECT spot for this occasion with the class and history of your amazing hotel. Your room blew me away with its classic 1920’s-1930’s style/decor. Every personal detail created a positive impression on me from the tub to the lamp shades to the chandelier. Thank you
Cons: 1) I was a little surprised to see that I did not have shampoo, conditioner, body wash, a toothbrush in the hotel room when I arrived. I have never not had the basic bathing essentials at a hotel - ever 2) The shower was difficult to use (although very beautiful)

Cons: Nothing!

4.5 Okay
Pros: The building and decoration is great. The furniture, excluding the bed and television and bath, are nice.
Cons: The previous occupiers dirty linens were in the living room on checkin (6pm). The staff were apologetic though and it did assure me that the sheets were changed so that is nice. The bathroom wasn’t clean. There was a bunch of hair around from a previous occupier. The bed was all springs and no padding. Television didn’t work. Breakfast in room was oatmeal and a waffle for $35. It was cold and sad when it got to me. I wouldn’t stay again.

Cons: Nothing, it was all good

Pros: Terrific location, amazing staff: Lincoln & Jack could not be nicer. Well appointed rooms and facilities
Cons: The card key system is a CONSTANT irritation. It won’t open your room door consistently and you need to go back to the front desk. The parking gates that use the same key never worked right. Replace the key system and you’d rate close to a 10.

Most of the clientele are there for events ranging from business meetings to bar mitzvahs to weddings, and the hotel offers ample facilities to accommodate them with more than 30,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, including a beautiful wedding gazebo. There is also a lovely pool, nice spa, fitness center, two tennis courts, and a free business center. A delicious restaurant is on-site offering New American cuisine, and a poolside restaurant and bar also caters to guests. Accommodations at the Ritz are spacious and feature standard rooms with good sleeping options and features like Frette linens, featherbeds, and Bulgari toiletries. The Ritz brand is not known for its striking style, and the rooms at this hotel are highly nautically themed. While staying at The Ritz Carlton Marina del Rey, guests can wake up and walk out the back door to the water. However, the water only features docks and boats, perfect for boaters and business travelers needing a fresh start to the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I can't begin to find words to express how much we enjoyed our stay at the Marina del Rey Ritz Carlton! We arrived on a Wednesday morning with a sick child. The staff immediately took charge helping to get us situated with a room and going so far above and beyond ensuring that our stay was enjoyable. From the person who greeted us to take our luggage, to the valet, to the front desk staff to the wait staff in the restaurant and the gift shop (which opened up for us to get us meds in the middle of the night) to the manager who followed up even after we had left their hotel, every layer was kind, attentive and fantastic! They honestly made us feel like we were at home with family who was concerned about us. What a fantastic experience! T
7.1 Good
Pros: I liked that the hotel was near the water, close to a concert I was attending.
Cons: I booked this hotel because they had balconies and it was near the water. The balcony was closed due to renovations. The bath tub was small , hotel was a little outdated. Not as special as a experience as I was hoping for
7.4 Good
Pros: Staff is great, and generally a very nice hotel.
Cons: Doesn't live up to our expectations based on previous experiences at other Ritz hotels. It feels tired, not as luxurious as others, and is starting to show some age without upkeep. A simple example would be the pool has cracked tiles and feels rundown.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was outstanding; from valet, front desk & concierge all the way through to pool attendants, room service and bell desk.
6.0 Good
Pros: I like the avalibiliy of the staff
Cons: For a younger crowd in there 25-30 age it's not an appeasing hotel it's more for older crowd like 50-60 so for me being a pro Olympic athlete and being 23 yrs old I didn't enjoy it that much
6.2 Good
Pros: Nice place, but not worth the Ritz premium. I would stay at the JW Marriott in Santa Monica next time I'm in the area.

5.4 Okay
Pros: the location

Overview Reviews
The newest addition to hotelier and restaurateur Jeff Klein’s JK Hotel Group, Hotel 850 SVB is a new hotel concept inspired by European residential-style properties where the comforts and accoutrements of home blend seamlessly with the luxury and service of a contemporary hotel. Nestled on a beautiful street in West Hollywood, the historic building’s circa 1918 bungalow façade leads to a newly designed property developed by architect Marc Appleton and designer Rita Konig in partnership with Klein. The result is a decidedly different urban getaway. An under the radar pied a terre for the curious and discerning. And a hotel unlike any other in Los Angeles.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were super nice, and beds were really soft.... I felt comfortable and like I was at a getaway.
Cons: Sharing bathrooms with so many people is awkward, and the room I got from ordering online was SUPER small hut compared to pictures so I had to pay another 25 to upgrade for something more comfortable, and also 20 bucks for parking when I'm already paying 150 a night is kinda ridiculous. But I still enjoyed the pool and the oasis feel.

Pros: Rooms are cool, looks nice overall.
Cons: I chose this place in large part because it had a rooftop pool in downtown LA. The Sunday after we stayed there we tried to use the pool at 12pm but all the lounge chairs were put away or closed off and removed from the pool. We were told because of a pool party at 4pm no lounge chairs could be out by the pool and needed to be held for it. When I asked if we could use just 2 to hang by the pool for 1 hour and that I would pay, they said they would check with their manager. I waited about 30 minutes for that person to get back to me then saw them walking by doing something else with no manager in sight or answer. We split and went home. Also, purchased room through Kayak paid the additional amount to get breakfast included. Ordered from room service and told them we had that deal. They delivered breakfast and charged us. When I spoke to management they said that I needed to go to the restaurant to order the breakfast that I paid for through the Kayak reservation. When I told the manager we let them know about it when we ordered room service on the phone and they never told us we had to go down to the restaurant, she referred me to bring it up with Kayak. Service is absolutely the worst considering the inflexibility on food ordered from the same cooks and bait and switch on a pool amenity that you can't you because of a party in 4 hours.

Pros: Clean, big room, i especially enjoyed the remote heater function it was my favorite room amenity.
Cons: My first night, I awoke at midnight to a very loud fire alarm which was blasting in my room through a speaker. I walked down 17 flights of stairs and only when I got to the first floor an employee brushed it off and said it was a false alarm. The second night, same thing happened but this time it was a 3am fire alarm. I was wide awake, heart racing for hours, I didn’t get much sleep between both nights. They did, however, comp my room service so that was attentive and a nice gesture. I appreciate them doing that without me having to ask for things in return to make it better. Sleep is the main purpose of my hotel stay and if you can’t get a good nights sleep, why am I even there? It just really left a bad taste for me, even though the staff and hotel was perfect. Not sure I’d go back.
