8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location. You could sit on the balcony & watch everyone. The hotel is right on the pier & between lots of shops & restaurants so very convenient. The staff is super friendly & accommodating. They took us in early, fed us snacks while we waited. They were so nice the whole time. The room itself was very cozy and cute. I loved the white drapery from the ceiling to the bed, it was very stylish, and the shower had a nice new nozzle.
Cons: The bed was hard as a rock, but I got used to it. The doorknob on the bathroom also popped off a couple of times. The place could use a bit of fixing up in some places that need regular maintenance.

I plan on staying here every time I visit Hydra!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, and very nice host. Bathroom in this hotel is so beautiful. Was very nice to be offered some Greek wine for two to enjoy for both nights we were there-- we sipped it on the pretty patio and it tasted great.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very bright and sizeable room in perfect condition and with warm, stylish decor, a large bathroom and good bath amenities. Although the owner has only three rooms they are run as if a boutique hotel with a day receptionist and daily cleaning. Nice arrival gifts of wine, chilled water and toast, butter, jam and honey sufficient for light breakfasts.
Cons: An overly complicated shower that needs some adjusting for smoother flow of water. The windows would also benefit from mosquito screens so they could be left open for fresh air through the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff, very clean, beautiful interior, attention to detail
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious room and Bathroom. Quite and clean. Nice ambience. Very homey

Pros: Giorgia, the staff person in charge, was fantastic. The facility is very small. The inner courtyard is peaceful and quiet, and close to the center of the town but just outside of the hustle of the center.
Cons: It was a bit difficult to find the location when we first got there, so make sure you have clear directions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and unique. Quiet & private courtyard. Very good location. Lots of amenities. Easy to communicate with owners. Loved the wine on arrival.

Pros: I had a beautiful view of the Town. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. Less than a fine minute walk to the harbor. Spiros was a great host. I left my headset in the room after I checked out, and he brought it to me at the port before my ferry departed. I highly recommend this property to others.
Cons: I'm ok with the stairs, but people who have mobility issues may have a hard time reaching the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very central location. Good views from private balcony. Just magic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spiros was very kind to meet us at the port and even carry our suitcase up to the apartment. It is just 5 minute walk over some 50-60 steps from port. The room was beautifully furnished with a fancy bathroom , with a window looking over Hydra and a small balcony for 2 people to sit. Pure romance. Although it is few minutes away from Cafes and Restaurants it was very silent . We didn’t use any of the kitchen things , the food is too good and affordable at Tavernas to spend any time in kitchen. There are 2 bakeries within 5 minutes walk for breakfast. Spiros is a great host. We loved Hydra. When we come again we will surely stay at Paradiso again.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: The name of the property says it all: it truly was paradise! The property is situated in the heart of Hydra and only a 5 minute walk from the port. The room was AMAZING! Super clean, modern, spacious and with a beautiful view of the entire island! We were so excited that we wanted to book an extra night but unfortunately it was fully booked. The host and his family were one of the warmest people we met in Greece; they helped us take our bags to the property (as there are no cars in Hydra) and even invited us for coffee to their house. I cannot recommend this place enough!! We are DEFINETELY visiting again!!!

Pros: Beautiful property and patio garden stunning
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is excellent, great location, attentive staff and amazing breakfast. ill be back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We liked the fact that The Mistral was a cozy, antique filled, family run establishment...a nice contrast to the super modern hotel we had just left in Athens. I was curious about the complimentary breakfast other reviewers have raved about and it was certainly deserving. Served outdoors in a beautiful plant filled courtyard, those breakfasts represented some of the most delicious and memorable meals of our holiday.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was quite a spread of delicious, Greek selections. The owner served us and she let us decide which of the pre-set menu of items to eat or decline. We couldn’t possibly eat all that was offered. Each day was a new set menu. The young man checking us is and helping with various needs was very accommodating. The location is away from the harbor to allow an escape from the crowds when needed. Definitely recommend this hotel!
Cons: The bed was two twins side by side and they were a bit stiff. Could use mattress toppers, though good and firm for good back support.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My friend and I loved staying at Hotel Mistral! The staff was beyond welcoming, the rooms were beautiful and don't get me started on the free breakfast! I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone who decides to stay a night in Hydra.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. The owners were very attentive and helpful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff. Great breakfast. Standard room was comfortable with plenty of space. Nicely located just a couple of minutes from the harbour.
5.4 Okay
Cons: We have staid in hotel Mistral for five nights and are very disappointed! It was not at all what we had expected of this quite expensive hotel. The breakfast was good, but not if you aren't too keen on having a breakfast that is more like a lunch with several dishes early in the morning. And with no possibility what so ever to choose what you want to eat. And it was a misunderstanding, said the owners wife, when we for the third time told her of problems with the cleaning of our room; at the wrong time, only partial tidying up and - finally - no cleaning at all! We don't think the maid is to blame. The problems are due to the fact that the maid doesn't speak a word of English. Or greek! The hotel employs young Albanian girls who work hard at minimal wages to keep us happy. But they don't understand what the owner tells them to do. In our opinion this is not the key to produce good service.

Pros: Kudos to Kalotina and her family in restoring this beautiful stone building into the Mastoris Mansion. All the accommodation conveniences you’d expect - ranging from bed to room and bathroom size. Location was central,, enabling one to visit all major sites (not just the port). Special thanks to Kalotina and her mother - very helpful and attentive to all requests. Would definitely recommend.

Cons: The wifi didn’t work, but maybe that’s rather a blessing for you to be able to relax and completely switch off.

Cons: AC worked well, but somewhat noisy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maria the hostess was fantastic, always available and welcomming. This was a great place a little away from the noisier area of the harbour of Hydra, yet only a few minutes walk away. Lovely courtyard for sitting in, great breakfast including her home made cake!, which made for a great start to the day. Combined with all the little extras in the room, made for a very enjoyable few days stay.
Cons: Nothing!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The host was so lovely and accommodating to any of our needs. The room wasn’t big but was still very comfortable. The cooked breakfast was extra but so worth it- best omelette we have had in a long time! It is about a 5 minute walk to the sea and was easy with all of our bags.
Cons: It was hard to shower without getting water everywhere, but I think many Greek showers seem to be like that!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was a charming little B and B with the most amazing host, Maria. I travelled with my two teenage children and my parents (in their 70’s), so I wanted to make sure we were close to things (without tons of steps for my my Dads knees) but not in the middle where late music or drinking would keep us up. It was so absolutely ideal. Maria is a wonderful smiley host who made us feel so welcome. The lady who cleaned our room was also so kind and left it spotless every day. The breakfasts were delicious and excellent coffee! We would start our day just lingering at the breakfast table, talking, soaking in the morning and reading books. I go back to hydra every summer and this is now my new spot. My only issue was that I personally felt the bed was a little too hard for my preference, my parents however thought they were fine, so I suppose it’s preference. See you next summer María!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good and the host very kind and helpful !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We requested a twin room but were contacted by booking.com to tell us there was a problem, on arrival Maria explained there was a leak and gave us a great alternative we were very happy with. Breakfast was yummy and a lovely location! Perfect location - easy to walk to with our bag on wheels (no big steps to the place - just some up tot he rooms once there) right next to Doukas square with a fantastic restaurant - try the local fish, was delicious. Leonard Cohen used to play at this restaurant under the tree. It was lovely and we enjoyed the homemade spinach or feta pastry for breakfast with Greek yogurt. Was quiet and close to everything and we look forward to returning - Hydra is just amazing! Maria is very friendly also and likes to check all is OK.
Cons: Nothing - everything was lovely!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is great. Maria, our hostess was great. Everybody working there had a smiling face. The rooms are simple/basic but clean. We spent comfortable nights.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Maria was the most lovely hotel owner ever! Provided us with coffee and cookies every morning, took all the time to give us advice and let us chill, eat take-away, and drink in the garden until early in the morning. If youre here: def eat some grilled mushrooms and halloumi at the restairant next door!
Cons: Internet functioned badly from our room (no. 4); the room was quite small tbh
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely lady owner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Maria’s incredible hospitality earns her property an extra point! We arrived early and she greeted us with open arms. We relaxed in her lovely courtyard and she brought us teats! Even with our limited Greek, Maria made our stay in Hydra extra memorable. Thanks Maria!

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly staff, a lovely well equipped room, clean and tidy too.
Cons: The room we had, you needed to keep the shutters closed. With the walls being painted beige, it just made the room darker. White paint work would be better. For this room.

Pros: The patio was lovely to sit on. The kitchen facilities such as kettle, sandwich maker and hotplates in each room are very useful and although room is without breakfast every morning you are given a top up of sachets of Nescafe, tea, jam and crackers. The lady who owns Athina is very friendly and helpful.
Cons: The beds are really too short for some tall people.

Pros: Fantastic facility's in the room to make coffee, even to make toast bread, and they gave us marmalade and crackers every day.

Pros: This was my favourite stay in Greece! Evita was the most amazing host. Our ferry to hydra was cancelled due to a strike and she went above and beyond to get us to the island. Pros: Excellent location, very clean and sweet-looking rooms, friendly and helpful staff, picturesque and quiet street (apart from the donkeys walking past). Couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay.

Pros: comfortable and spacious room: I appreciated the coffee station with kettle/tea and fridge stocked with water. Very clean and nicely decorated guest room.
Cons: the wifi connection was intermittent and slow
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sparkly clean, very nice designed. Everything new. The location was very convenient, quiet and just few blocks from the noise of port, so no smoke from them.

Pros: So quiet and warm, a few minutes walk from the small harbor, a true paradise. Big room, very nicely decorated and very functional. I wouldn’t change one thing! Owners very helpful and available.
Cons: Nothing at all
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect.
6.7 Good
Pros: No obvious reception area and no staff person available to greet incoming guests or answer questions. It’s a quaint mom and pop operation with seat-of-the-pants management. But the rooms are clean and quiet, and the place is located in a shaded, quiet neighborhood a few minutes from the port.
Cons: Not well managed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Loved this place. The room was superbly laid out with everything that was needed. The bed was very large & comfortable. It had great outside space with sofa, chair & sun shade so it was a perfect spot to read or have a quiet sundowner listening to the goat bells further up the mountain. A short walk from the port, even nearer to some excellent traditional tavernas.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful and accomodating family runs this charming guesthouse very close to port but set just back enough for peaceful mornings.

7.0 Good
Pros: The warmth of the room, the coziness, and the location!!!
Cons: More practical bathroom and a welcome drink-even a cold bottle of water-for the guests would be a nice gesture!!!!!

Pros: Good location, quiet area but very close to the town centre. Nicely decorated and clean room, balcony
Cons: Air conditioning wasn't working, but I suppose they have fixed it by now.
7.0 Good
Pros: I liked the small front patio in the early morning, sipping Nescafe and watching the locals walking up and down the small road on which the guesthouse fronted.
7.3 Good
Pros: Absolutely charming guesthouse with very very helpful staff. Located a short walk from the port, it's quiet - almost idyllic. The hotel has a lovely garden with lemon trees and gorgeous flowers.
Cons: If you like soft pillowtop beds, this isn't the place for you.
6.7 Good
Pros: Well-designed and cute rooms, personal touch, comfortable bed, nicely located in a quiet area not very far from the port resulting in an overall very good price/quality ratio. Congratulations to Yannis, the guesthouse owner, for his personal touch and care in the rooms design as well as for his willingness to provide any advice and help. We will certainly come back.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most lovely stay at Hydroussa Hotel. It was so charming and peaceful in the most perfect of locations. A short stroll from the waterfront with a lovely breakfast that we enjoyed every morning in the pretty courtyard. The room was light, beautifully decorated and comfortable. I hope we’ll be back one day.

Pros: Slightly old fashioned but very charming. Lovely modern bathroom and partial view of the sea from the bedroom.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location and staff especially Costas
Cons: The beds were not very comfortable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A few blocks away from the port and all the restaurants and shops. Very accommodating staff. Lovely historic hotel; very comfortable large room and the bathroom is amazing. Highly recommend and if we return to Hydra I would stay here again. If you're wondering; this hotel is worth the extra money!
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, 5 min walk from the port. Very nice breakfast with a good choice!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful Staff-perfectly located-clean, tidy.
Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent, staff were courteous and the hotel was very clean. Breakfast was very good. The bathroom was well appointed and practical.
Cons: The room although clean was rather spartan and decor was dated, it needs an update. There was a fridge plonked prominently in the room. We feel that with more attention to sympathetic decor improvements we would have happily paid more.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location 150 m from the port, the building itsself (old captain house) , the history of the building and the forthcoming people serving
6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the location, not right on the busy port, but not too far away from the center of town. Also loved the building, an old Hydriot mansion, and its front garden. Finally, I found the staff extremely helpful, friendly, and good-spirited.
Cons: I think that the breakfast served could do with an update, even within a tight budget. Also the cleanliness, could do with a little more attention to detail. But then again, I am a very-detailed oriented person, so I guess I can see a lot of things as a housewife, that other people cannot.
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful old grand residence. Spotless. Competent and efficient front desk. Nice big rooms with very high classic- style ceilings. Right in the centre and 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and dozens of restaurants.Perfect location
Cons: Everything was just fine. The ideal location and facility
7.7 Good
Pros: There was a nice buffet breakfast that could be eaten in their lovely courtyard.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the front where we had breakfast every morning. The room was standard but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location is unbeatable!
5.2 Okay
Pros: Good situated hotel with charming common areas and beautiful yard. Our room was large and clean, but quite dark and old-fashioned.
Cons: The breakfast was quite poor.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Great interior design, central location, always clean room
Cons: They should have better breakfast buffet ( it was really poor) and they should consider renovating the bathroom ( roasted tabs and metal parts) as well as buying new towels ( they were clean but extremely hard)
6.8 Good
Pros: The courtyard was very charming as were the common areas. The staff was very friendly. The view from my room was beautiful and at times lively (but the shutters were effective in blocking the noise when I wanted to sleep).
Cons: There was no overhead shower mount -- it's kind of hard to take a shower with only one hand free since you're holding the sprayer.
5.2 Okay
Pros: A nice charming hotel situated in a quite part of the town of Hydra. It is in a 100 metres walking distance from the old port of Hydra. An old mansion renovated with its tranditional style well preserved. Most importantly, to reach there, there are no steps to climb. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Rooms' interior is not as charming as the rest of the common areas of the building. Yet they are quiet and clean.
6.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful building with a nice courtyard. Great location, quiet, clean and close to the bustling Hydra harbour.
Cons: Rather spartan, poor breakfast.

Pros: Location overlooking harbor
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Stairs were extremely steep
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast could be cleaner and more covered so that flies can’t sit on food. Other than that, a good hotel with an excellent view of the port. Big clean room.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a great location in terms of access from the ferry and to the bustling town of Hydra. The staff was very helpful and the room had an amazing view of the port. The breakfast was quite good and the setting on the rooftop was divine. The room was very clean and the bed and sofa bed were quite comfortable.
Cons: While the location is fantastic for access, if you are a light sleeper, staying on the port or in bedroom that faces the port might not be the best idea as the night life goes well into the morning and it is quite loud. Also, If you have mobility issues this is not the hotel for you since access includes a very steep staircase from the port to the main floor.

Pros: Location
Cons: High price for a tiny room
7.9 Good
Pros: Location was excellent. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Pros: We came to Hydra for a friends wedding and wanted somewhere to stay close to the town. We were met off of the ferry by our kind and friendly host who showed us where everything we needed was, including the bakery, boats, pharmacy etc. They very kindly took our cases to the property for us. Our room was very clean and spacious and had all the amenities we needed. The shower was fabulous and the pillows were also very dreamy. The room had air conditioning which meant we were kept cool and slept soundly. I really loved staying here and would definitely return.

Pros: The owner/host, Panagiotis, was very friendly and communicative. He arranged to meet us at the port and transfer our luggage to the room whilst he gave a short walking tour of some of the highlights of the town. Whilst the place doesn't have a 24/7 reception (it's not something we needed at all), he's available very quickly and easily via phone. The accommodation is very centrally located (a 2 minute, flat walk to the port), quiet and clean. There's room to BYO food and have breakfast or lunch in the courtyard although for us, the people-watching at the port was irresistible. Panagiotis has lived on Hydra is whole life and runs one of the local pharmacies. He came to my rescue when I cut my foot badly. He expertly cleaned it, dressed it, and sent me home with ample medical supplies! Easily above and beyond any expectation of any host, anywhere. If we come back, this will be the place we stay.
