Overview of interCaribbean Airways

interCaribbean Airways aims to serve the countries and territories spread across the Caribbean Sea. From a hub in Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos Islands, local and vocational travel is available to three domestic destinations. It plays a major role in connecting the isolated islands and is one of only a few airlines to operate in the region. The carrier is recognized as the flag carrier for the Turks and Caicos Islands.

International routes traveled by interCaribbean Airways reach the Bahamas, Cuba, Jamaica, the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, and the British Virgin Islands. A wide-reaching network is spread across the West Indies region, including Antigua and Barbuda, Dominica, Saint Martin, and Saint Lucia.

Only Economy fares are offered, meaning passengers are destined to have similar experiences and enjoy the absence of class separation. A carry-on bag weighing no more than 10 lb is permitted per customer. Complimentary checked luggage is also provided, with weights varying between 44 lb and 70 lb depending on the route flown. Baggage allowances are generally lighter at smaller airports across the West Indies and heavier on larger islands in the Caribbean.

A combination of Embraer, Britten-Norman and de Havilland aircraft are used by interCaribbean Airways. The most commonly flown model is the Embraer 145 jet, which has twin turbofan engines and the capacity to hold 50 passengers. Planes in the fleet are decorated with a yellow stripe that extends along half of the fuselage and onto the tail. The other colors of the Turks and Caicos Islands flag (blue, pink and green) also feature on the jets.
