Poor bedroom lighting. Nowhere to put wash bags in bathroom.
Loved the location, the friendly staff and the cosy room.
Just that I could not find any shampoo, but did find a double handsoap. Wifi was a bit unstable.
Staff were efficient and very friendly. Breakfast was excellent
I paid over 200 for one night. The room was small and run down, ensuite was also pretty old and dated, the carpet, curtains bed were all WELL worn, tiny TV with mess of cables and kettle that had seen better days... I don't mind this state of affairs if the price was reflective of this as it was relatively clean, but for over 200 pounds it's totally unacceptable I felt totally robbed. Location is superb, right in the city centre and next to the river. I did not eat here so cannot comment on the food.
Driving away from the place
I went for one night to this hotel with my partner for a quite night after I had been working away. We were put in room 916 right above the function suite. There was a party going on until midnight which was causing the whole room to vibrate. We could hear every word of the songs below. After speaking with the reception we were told that the music would be turned down but was turned up. We were told there was no other rooms available so we would just have to put up with it. The reception is in another building along the road so we had to keep walking in the rain to reach the receptionist as the phones in the room did not work. Really old rooms that need upgrading. Staff say they will sort issues just to get you to go away, very unhelpful. We paid £290 for one night and were close to sleeping in the car as all other hotels were booked up for the marathon. After speaking with the manager a few days later he mentioned that the rooms we were staying in were due to be refurbed with sound proofing as they were aware of the problem yet still take money from vulnerable customers to fill the rooms. They offered us a free stay on our stay, we refused. Worst hotel I have ever stayed in and I have stayed in hostels. Please avoid.
