Good solid hotel TV was outdated
The helpful friendly staff, they could not have been more welcoming and attentive
Friendleness of staff / picking up from airport with no problem... With weddings and functions in the hotel they said they were too busy ...I had to ask for something three times before it was resolved
Good selection for breakfast
Staff were extremely efficient and very friendly.
the relaxed friendly welcoming atmosphere. a group of 12 of us were staying on friday and saturday night. bar was ckised when we returned from an evening out and we were not allowed to sit in the lounge and have a few drinks with our friends before going to bed on the saturday night, didnt want to go to a roomand disturb other guests.
All the staff were wonderful and really helpfull we had dinner in their restaurant and I would highly recommend it. We would re-visit this Hotel
Convenient situation to access west coast of Scotland. The amount of cigarette "butts" at the entrance to the hotel.
The restaraunt was good, also the location
Very comfortable, was made very welcome, breakfast was great. All in all a great stay. booking.com stated the room was en-suite, therefore I did not bring a dressing gown - maybe one could be provided?
See below None
The ability to offer evening meals was helpful. I have had to cancel due to the current adverse weather conditions. The hotel were unsympathetic, and insisted on charging the full room rate. I will therefore think twice about staying again.
The food was very well made and tasted grate and was also very cheap
this was a very pleasant hotel good service and very friendly
Pleasant Staff and clean Room My booking was descried as En Suite, however no En suite was provided, which was a bit inconvenient
Staff very friendly, rooms clean and newly decorated. All extras in the room - hairdryer, iron and ironing board. Open kitchen - cooking smells from breakfast linger on your clothes if you sit too long in the restaurant area
The staff was very serviceminded and helpful. The only bad thing was that you could hear every sound from the room above.
Good value Good breakfast. Pleasant staff
Excellent friendly ness of the staff will go out of there way to make you very welcome. Breakfast excellent really set you up for the day. There was nothing I did not like about the hotel. But would like to make one suggestion. Being a women I would have liked a plug socket under the mirror to make it easier for a hairdryer .
Very comfortable, friendly staff and good food.
As we were attending a family funeral we did not look at the hotel in this way. However the service provided especially the friendly staff was very good.
Everything, Excellent experience
noisy, looking out onto car park - no blinds on windows, could not see the sea from the hotel as stated on website, no sky tv, no mini bar
The handy location for seeing family The full price was a little to much, but as I got a deal it was well worth th e price we paid for 2 days and other a weekend as well
Hotel surroundings, staff and accessability were excellent No comlaints whatsoever
friendly relaxing atmosphere
Our stay was excellent very comfortable and enjoyable We attended a function at Hotel and were let down by the fact the when we left our table to dance staff removed half full glasses this is the only thing that marred our stay.
The help and friendliness of the staff, the quiet location and easiness of access by road.
Warm welcome, well furnished, comfortable room and lounge and with excellent breakfast None
High standard of 'furnishings and fittings'. Beautiful house. Very friendly, polite and welcoming hosts. Could not be more helpful. None
The room which we stayed in was one of the best ever and we were impressed with the attentiveness of all the staff. Nothing was a bother to anyone. In addition the food was excellent.
Food in Jockey Club Restaurant was excellent and the staff were very good. Room service breakfast - yuk!
the service from the staff was excellent,a lasting memory having to prove that I had paid for the breakfast
This is the second time that I have sayed at this hotel. Once again it was an enjoyable experience. We were given an upgrade and the room in the main house was superb. I overheard someone in the restaurant telling the staff that they stay in a hotel at least once a month on business and that this was one of the very best that they had stayed at. This confirmed my findings. It beats the likes of Cameron House for the comfort of the rooms. Food and drink prices are very reasonable. Staff are well trained and very courteous and helpful. I had no complaints about anything. The hotel would benefit from leisure facilities but I knew it didn't have these so I wasn't looking for this.
the room was very clean and well equipped thought breakfast would be included in price
very comfortable, relaxed atmosphere Breakfast on Sunday morning could have done with more staff to cope with the last minute rush.
Friendly staff. Good food. Stayed in Courtyard part and very unsatisfactory walking in a wet windy night to the main house for dinner. Had to change room because of something noisy and broken on roof. Had no sleep on one night!
the staff where very friendly and helpful, hotel was very clean the bed in room 302 seemed to have a bump in the middle that seemed to keep me awake most of the night
We liked value for money an d the extra wee touches like bed turned down with shortbread and hot chocolate when we returned to the hotel .
High standard of room Poor selection of toiletries
Fridge and microwave were good. Beds were quite comfy. Good tv and lots of videos to choose from. The very cheapest of cheapest of food was used for the breakfast. The cornflake container had Kellogs crunchy nut on the side. They were not Kellogs. Some cheap cornflakes that were awful. The sash window in our room was propped open with a video cassette. The over mirror light in the bathroom was not working. The toilet had no lid to it. The towels were dreadful. Threadbare and small. I have used better as a floor cloth. The electrics were scary: lots of extension leads. We arrived on Sunday and we were given the wrong code to get in. Cost us 2 phone calls. No teaspoons to make a drink with. Had to use our own and then on the last night these were taken away and replaced. I had to speak to someone about taking the spoons in case we were accused of theft.
This is a very basic hotel with no bar, lounge or restaurant, but it had a small dining room for breakfast. My room was clean and tidy, good-sized, with en-suite shower, TV, fridge and microwave. The staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is situated within easy walking distance of the town's amenites. A good value for money hotel, just don't expect any frills.
Having a fridge in the room for nice cold drinks and keeping fresh milk etc. and the free video library, unusual and very handy for the rainy west coast of Scotland. No bath, but I can live without it for the odd night.
Very central and close to rail station. Reception area was not very friendly. First impressions was not good at all, actually we though to cancel and to go to the SeaMill Hydro.
the room was clean and big. It was a great price. no bar and the breakfast was very average
Helpful staff, clean room, excellent value for money No parking
no recepion when we arrived had o phonesomeone to get into our room
Not much, I'm afraid. Easy parking, The room was clean and contained a fridge and microwave which might be useful but we didn't use it. No proper reception. Nowhere to get a drink arriving at seven o'clock in the evening.
we stayed in the family room, which was very well equipt and would highly recommend this b&b to a friend.
Chose this hotel for convenience, 7 mins from Prestwick airport, train station and express bus. Comfortable and friendly, used for one night only, late night arrival from Spain early train leaving next morning. Very good. Did not try anything other than the room facilities and had an early morning call.
The staff were very attentive, and made my stay memorable. I did not stay long enough to full explore this amazing hotel.
very friendly atmosphere very helpful staff, breakfast excellent, rooms clean and comfortable newly refurbished reception area and dining room would be a perfect venue for a wedding
the hotel is lovely and the staff good but didnt like the fact that we had to go out to reception and knock at the office door to get some one to serve us a drink at the bar every time , but apart from that we had a plesent stay , when we were leaving there was nobody around reception to hand our room key to so i had to leave it under the counter , but would come back again ,thank you .
The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel room was spacious and clean.
All staff were exteremely polite and helpful. The food was of a good standard, well presented and hot. Wifi was not available throughout the hotel, only in the main building, which was a bit frustrating.
We have to take a taxi from the airport
Lovely rooms. Bathroom a bit dated though. Friendly staff
Setting was fantastic and very convient for Prestwick airport. Nothing
Good area, nice grounds comfortable hotel. Good food, freindly staff.
t he actual location, country side, and within easy reach of Belfast City No.
see above noisy fan in bathroom
the whole experience, made very welcome, food excellent, carnagie suite very relaxing, 5 star service, great night in wonderful surroundings. no
Excellent breakfasts, friendly and efficient staff.
A quiet refuge from the elements; a warm and comforting environment! nothing
This was our second visit to the hotel and if anything it was better than before. The staff are so helpful and cant do enough for everyone. really enjoyed our stay.
Staff excelllent. Discreet and knowledgable service. Concierge service wonderful. They found me some discontinued perfume! Bar staff superb. Heating at the room insufficient during day. Hotel bar is a bit expensive.Noise above room coming from non isolated conduct.Water would change temputer during taking a shower. The carpet is in bad condition.
The room was very comfortable. The food plentiful and very good. The staff were extremely friendly and courteous and had a very good customer service attitude, particularly the Bar staff. I have no gripes at all. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone spending time in the Ayr/Prestwick area
We were particularly impressed by the quality of the food, the comfortable room and the leisure facilities available.
Good breakfast. Good room There was an essential repair we requested in the bathroom which was not carried out.
It was friendly, very comfatable, clean and pleasant Slight mix up about exact location
How modern it was, and the standard of food Nothing i didnt like.
Room was a nice size. There was a tower fan available and an iron and ironing board in the room. The garden furniture was lovely and comfortable No shelf in shower for shampoo / conditioner. Existing samples kept falling off fixture on wall. No waste bin in bathroom. My partner is 6' 5" and walked into the shower curtain rail. The price of alcohol is way too expensive. £6.00 for a glass of wine.....
Friendly staff and good food. Large room with bath. Only received free bottle of water for first night.
Recently renovated to a very high standard. The rooms were excellent and dining and wine list were first class - catered for a glutten free diet
The modern decor albeit in an old Inn, cleanliness, friendliness of the staff, the excellent quality of food. Exceptionally good value. Music in the corridors leading to bedrooms was a little bit loud!
Good value for money. Location isnt great, on a main road beside a petrol station. Not much happening in Troon either.
Location, friendly staff, excellent room, including decor, and food. Ideal for seeing around seaside towns nearby.
the food at the hotel was superb also the rooms are very nice all the staff are very friendly,
Decor in the hotel was very good and there was a relaxed atmosphere, bedroom was particularly well fitted and clean. Bathroom was outstanding. The arrangements for breakfast were not made clear by staff. The buffet area was too small and cramped, cereals etc. The hot plated breakfast was table service.
Evening meal at group birthday party was excellent Very small room and bed
The staff were all very accommodating, the room was comfortable and the leisure facilities were welcome. The location is very good and convenient. The signposting, or rather lack of it, meant it took a little longer to arrive and enjoy the facilities. The breakfast service was a little chaotic, slow and unclear despite friendly staff.
easy access to swimming pool
Service was excellent. All staff very welcolming . A special mention to Emma who served our breakfast - A credit to the hotel.
ease of access to Prestwick Airport
The views and the quality of the food
i thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the hotel, although i would say that the attention to detail in the single room was not quite as high as in a double as my friends have stayed before. as i said, i think there could have been a bit more attention payed to the room. for instance, the toiletries weren't arran aromatics, which i think is normally a very nice feature, and the heating wasn't on.
Lovely friendly staff, excellent food, stylish and comfortable decor. Would not hesitate to stay again. Worth it just for the fantastic views alone.
Friendly, professional staff, on this occasion went out of their way to arrange another room. My elderly mother was unhappy being on another floor from myself. Food was very tasty, but could have been warmer. Breakfast very good, seated and served quickly. We travel to Ayrshire once a year for a particular reason, I would have no reason not to book again next year. The hotel lift was out of action, staff gave reason for this, unfortunately the party included my 87y mother who is not very good on stairs. However staff assisted with luggage and we took our time climbing to the 2nd floor.
The position of the hotel is amazing. The comfort level & attentive staff make for a very relaxing time.
My room was way too small and stuffy, breakfast was over cooked.
I stayed at this hotel because I was playing Royal Troon the next day. From my room I could the 18th of Troon and the sea behind it. The hotel is easy to find, check in was easy, wi-fi was dead simple and worked well and the room was tidy. The bar downstairs was more than adequate and sitting out on the porch looking at the sea was very pleasant. When I'm in Troon again, I will likely stay here.
reception staff friendly and helpful dirty bathroom floor - bath and shower water not working properly breakfast waitress poor service
staff were friendly and courteous, rooms were a decent size and service was quick n/a
Excellent staff, room and meals very good especially 2 for price of one! none
the staff were very helpful and very cheerfull
The hotel was very friendly and all the staff were very helpful. There was not much of a range of toiletries available, which was disappointing.
Good friendly staff, breakfast food very good. Nice location and place to stay Double bed was too small
Very warm welcome and excellent staff. Food was lovely
Location - Good surrounding - Nice staff
The hotel staff were polite and attentive. They provided a level of personal service that exceeded what i would have expected for a hotel of this grading. Our room seemed to be the smallest and least attractive in the hotel (having had the opportunity to look in a few of the other rooms) I would be requesting that we did not get this room again.
Liked the easy walk to town centre , harbour etc ran out of toilet roll!!
Nice cheap comfortable rooms in the centre of town. Access 24 hours.
Easy going and cheap
Great room good bar excellant breakfast Only thing no sound on the telly when football was on
friendly staff no problems nice clean rooms
It was nice and comfortable and quiet for what we wanted as a stay for the night and the housekeeper we met on sunday morning was very friendly and helpful.IN My opinion I think she ought to be the manager There was no e-mail sent to us just before we came to tell us what the entry code number was and there was nobody on call, mobile phone numbers we rang had only voicemail and no one rang us back for quite a while in fact another guest let us in to the premises.
We came late and left early. The room was exactly as it looked online--nothing fancy, but all that was needed for a quick visit after a long drive and before an early flight. It was a great value and it seem that, in terms of comfort and simplicity, the management "gets it." Be prepared for small rooms.
The family room was as expected, clean shower good, easy parking close by, come and go as you please and good value for the money. Cleaning lady was very attentive, offering to refresh tea bags and towels every morning. TV reception still an issue
Central location / clean Hard to get in contact with
Very clean. Very friendly and helpful staff. Good value for money. The "en-suite" was across the hall, although it was not used by any other guest.
Convenient, Cheap price, Nice outlook Good food nearby Very uncomfortable beds!!!!!! No information given regarding entry key code, fortunately we arrived as another guest was coming out,and he let us in. No response to telephone calls. Poor function of wc system
The accommodation was to our satisfaction, We could come and go as we pleased. No chairs in the room. Had to sit on the bed.
Close to ferry and ship inn Bright street lights and/or thin curtains
friendly staff nice warm atmostphere rooms too small
i liked the cozy location and the close proximity to the local pub. also the old town feel about the area and sense of history and nostalgia. room needs to be warmer during winter.
Good price for a standard room (no b & b) Secure rooms Free wi-fi Good size fridge for personal use (not mini fridge) Good location & room with a view Found the bed to be very uncomfortable, (could feel the bumps and springs etc) Radiators didn't kick in at all. tv too high on the wall, both myself and my partner got neckache looking up at it, as it was mounted on the wall (too high) Complimentary tray, well stocked but on a very low table for making tea/coffee
Very clean and had a dvd player in room. Fridge in the room made a terrible noise and ended up having to be turned off. No one to greet you when you arrived. Although they did phone to warn me about this and gave me all the information I needed to get into my room.
Hassle-free check-in, excellent facilities, easy access and transport links, very clean and modern, privacy, friendly. no
Accomodation was clean and well kept, excellent all round Nothing
We were moved to the Harbourside hotel which for the money we payed it was ok. We ot a complamentary breakfast. The hotel is very old fashioned, need moderised. I fell going up the stairs as when I held onto the banister it moved. The room we stayed in had also just been painted that day, the paint was still wet and the curtains were down and lying on a chair. The breakfast was average, was ok for free but would not have paid for it.
Cottage in grounds was exellent, food was good and we used room service a couple of times None
The staff attitude was excellent, couldn't be more helpful. The cottage itself was perfect for the week we stayed there as we could come and go as we pleased, the room was always serviced promptly and we had agreat trip. The walk along the beach in the morning certainly blew the cobwebs away! The mechanical equipment on the roof of the kitchens and beside the vending machine were very noisy, especially during the night. Needs acoustic enclosure around it.
I liked the atmosphere within the hotel it was very friendly and the staff were very attentive and eager to please and allowed us to relax which was the reason for our stay nothing to report all was very stisfactory
The room had a luxury feel to it. The room was too warm when we arrived so had to turn off the radiators.
THe room was most comfortable and spacious. The breakfast was also very good as was the service nothing
The Room was in a brand new complex just opened in May 2010 so everthing was new. Ironically, the new complex is away from the hotel main building, meaning you need to don a coat for breakfast and other meals. The heated towel rail in the bathroom didn't work and it took three calls to Reception to be moved to another room
we like this hotel!!! no complains!!!
Staff very friendly and helpful. Good location for walking to shops and restaurants. Good parking. We asked for 2 bottles of water for the room. The bar man had none in stock so went to the store room. 2 very small bottles of water cost around £6.80p. He could not find any larger bottles to offer value for money.
Local to the town and resturants. Would of been nice to access sky sports from the room.
Sight seeing, took in the racing on sat night, spent sunday in ayr & went down to Culzean Castle and Girvan on the Monday Had a couple of problems with the keys for the room
Central location I discovered I had paid £30 more than my friends for exactly the same accomodation and food! Even though I booked online.....
Staff very pleasant and helpful and food was good Noise - this took the form of invasive loud music in the bar and diningroom - a noisy party of guests being allowed to use the diningroom for a meeting when we were having a meal - people banging doors at 01.00 - 02.00 & 04.00 am as well as music from the function room at midnight.
Staff Cost of internet access and lack of wireless access
Location. Very comfortable. Well equipped. Good restaurant
Front desk staff very friendly and helpfull,at check in and check out Lifts did not work
The room facilities approach to reception from car park was really tatty and uninviting. Poor lighting. Draft beers were off due to a fault with the cooling system. Only bottled beer was available at £3.30 for a 330 ml bottle. The price should have been reduced to reflect the lack of customer choice and the excessively high price.
Although we weren't able to make full use of the facilities, we really enjoyed our stay
All the staff were welcoming and courteous. This factor, combined with the high standard of amenities, created a relaxing and memorable stay. The bath was elegant but inpractical! (The hotel was made aware of this)
Quiet getaway: great bathtub: great shower: nice bed: enjoyed complimentry tea coffee: breakfast was wonderful Actually bookin.com messed up the weekend for me as they let me book Sunday Monday and I made plans accordingly. But had to curtail and scramble because Monday was not available.
The location... we had a room overlooking the golf course and the sea beyond. Stunning. Very expensive but that is expected at places like this (e.g Glass of diet coke and soda water and lime = £6.50)
The food was excellent. The staff very friendly, particularly Alan Cree made the stay perfect. During breakfast (which was awesome) he always had the best recommendations how to spend the day, what to see, where to go... He is the heart and soul of the hotel! The spa should be closed for children at a specific time (5 P.M.) in order to give other guests the chance to calm down.
Lovely location Expensive and room recently done up, but tatty round the edges and very dusty
Fantastic food, service and the most comfortable bed ever !
Great place to relax and enjoy the fantastic views Price, price, price
Classic location, great facilities, wonderful golf on all courses, fabulous hotel. Renovations are good but it is expensive, but you need to pay for quality.
The staff in general are delightful We had no heating in the bathroom and the heating in the bedroom did not work. I mentioned this on checking out and barely received an apology. This was the one member of staff I did not like.
The lovely hosts Michael and Joyce have a beautiful guest house which is close to the town centre..walking distnace to lovely eats annd shops. The room was gorgeous.4 poster bed and afternoon sun..large ensuite...just perfect !
Very frendly and nice couple. ALSO very good breakfast with plenty of choice
Lovely friendly people, decor was excellent, and the breakfast was superb, thoroughly recommend it. Nothing
Excellent service and friendliness None
Clean, Good Location, Very friendly and helpful staff, Excellent Breakfast.
Mine host were very obliging and very socialable.Would fully recommend this hotel.the room was adaquate for a short stay. very clean and comfortable. Would of prefered a bath rather than a shower. But didn't request a room with a bath.
Staff were excellent, very friendly and nothing was too much trouble to them.
A very comfortable new hotel in excellent condition, food good as well
the staff were very nice/helpful the carvery was great value, would recomend it to friends and family.... no fried eggs at breakfast but you they will make these for you if you ask for them ...
Very friendly management and staff and a beautiful decorated and well looked after.hotel . When the extension is finished it will be the icing on the cake . No
Very nice hotel with excellent decor. The staff were friendly and the cooked buffet breakfast was very good. Free WiFi worked great. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again if on business in this area. The shower in my room was not very powerful.
Friendly, helpful staff. Food and service was good. Felt a bit exposed when curtains were open as we were in a downstairs back room and people were in and out of the car park. We felt that blinds were needed for privacy. Had to ask for a hair dryer and another cup. Other than that, nothing major.
The hotel was lovely- one of the nicest I've stayed in. Room newly refurbed, modern and clean. Friendly staff and the food and service in the restaurant top class no
All staff were extremely helpful, and went that extra bit to make us feel welcome.
The hotel was modern and very clean, the staff were efficient and the buffet breakfast was excellent, although apparently they don't normally do a buffet but did on this occasion due to the number of guests. The shower was rubbish.
Friendly staff, nice room, pleasant bar Phone was missing from my room but night porter came and knocked on the door for my wake up call.
staff were friendly Lots of stairs to go up and noisy doors when people come in including the front door. Room 6 on the ground floor seemed better
Very clean and comfortable. Staff all friendly and accomodating. Great breakfast. Only stayed one night on the way through, but could have easily stayed loger.
Everyone was very friendly which created a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. The breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. Our room was really lovely but a long mirror would have made it even better.
Owner very helpful, friendly & informative. Mix of old & modern, bright, clean and comfortable. Also loved the choice of art work. Very close to beach & shops. Would certainly recommend it.
This B&B is very modern, extremely clean and well run and the breakfasts are unbeatable! Excellent value for money for what is royal treatment in Ayr. I also liked the lounge which was accessible at all times and the selection of games and magazines on offer to guests.
Quietly situated outside city centre, nice for summer vacations. Familiar atmosphere - but far from "boutique-styled". Very small rooms, just for sleeping. The sheets was extremely hot. And the smell from the kitchen reached up in the rooms..
Was given a larger room than I had booked.
