My partner and I stayed one night in the Lord's Room at Allington Manor (as we were eating at the nearby Harry's Place, which it is perfectly located for). For only £85 on a Friday, we were presented with a stunning manor house, like a mini stately home with suits of armour - even in the terrential downpour we arrived in the place looked stunning. The village looked like it might be nice as well had we been there in non tsunami-like conditions (the pub looked particularly appealing!) The bedroom was luxurious and relaxing, and the breakfast was lovely, especially the freshly baked bread. The service at all times was impeccable, from booking us a taxi to opening the door for us at midnight! Thoroughly recommended for a romantic night away. Absolutely nothing, the only thing we could have wished for given the weather was perhaps a board game to keep us amused in the drawing room!
This location was chosen for a relaxing and friendly hosted break that was not too far from the main travel routes. It was perfect for us. There was a cold snap during our stay and what better way to end the day out by copious cups of tea around a roaring fire. The Manor itself was in itself quite special and with the many antiquities about the place, very, very interesting. Leo was an excellent host and deserves praise for hard work and ability to look after his guests. Would we return? Without a doubt! Nothing to complain about!
Quality of surroundings and personal attention small bathroom
Very Nice bedroom Interesting building Friendly staff (only saw one person) Reception when arrive is very unclear and confusing No lock on bedroom door Very small tv with poor picture quality for what was called a luxury room
Fabulous manor house, crammed with beautiful things. Lovely roll top bath in the bedroom. We were made most welcome and Leo’s freshly baked bread at breakfast was gorgeous. An absolute delight.
