I always love their breakfast. Coffee was better than I make at home. I love the dark wood furniture, nice room lighting. Business/homey Maybe a bit bigger -plus infers a suite.
The staff, facilities, and breakfast were all great. The room was clean, had an updated look, and very comfortable beds. The bathroom was nice and spacious, too.
A great location for or plans in Oceanside. We will stay here again in the future.
Very nice room with good amenities. The breakfast was very good and the property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this as a great place to spend a few days when on vacation or for business travels.
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Close to everything, we walked just about everywhere we were looking to go, no problem. Solid stay for the money especially. The immediate surrounding area is a little shady, a bit of a beat up motel 6 and a trailer park type area, but it wasn't a problem and barely noticed it was there. Only other small negative I can think of is the shower didn't drain very well, but I think I just seem to get those rooms.
The room was way to warm and stuffy. Air unit to low and blew against the bed. Unable to adjust the temperature to cool the room.
All the amenities, breakfast Bath towels were little thin
Close to the beach and south entrance to Camp Pendleton. Clean rooms and pool. Property well maintained. Small bathroom, walking paths in rooms and hallways.
Your facilities were absolutely perfect for my needs. My family was there visiting my son who is a U.S. marine. It was so conveniant to his location and your facilities were clean helpful and absolutely beautiful. Thank you for a great experience with our family. There was nothing about your facilities that I didn't like. It was a wonderful place to stay and fit my needs perfectly. Thank you.
Loved the breakfast especially the waffles. Free wi-fi and parking. Close to freeway. not much of a view. Hallway needed to be vacuumed as there was pretzel crumbs scattered in front of someone's hotel door.
The only reason I reserved a room at this hotel was because it was the only hotel in the area that stated it had a suite available for this particular weekend. When you reserve and pay for a suite with two queen beds and a sofa pull out you should get two queen beds with a sofa pull out not whatever is available when you check in. The room I reserved and paid for in advance was classified as a suite but it only provided a queen bed with a queen pull out sofa. I would have been better of requesting a room with two queen beds or better yet staying at a different hotel. We had to make a bed out of the sofa cushions for my 6 year old daughter to sleep on.
Homie at the front desk was on point with his friendliness and professionalism. Wish I remembered his name to give him dem proper props. Pillow selection on each bed was a nice touch. Sometimes I bring my own pillow but when you get to choose from a batch of 17 pillows how can you miss? No liquor in the room prior to arrival. That's about it, really.
Friendly staff, nice bed and a good breakfast. Hotel was a little dated.
Location, close to everything and right off the freeway Old, musty, run down with prehistoric bathroom. Breakfast makes hospital meals look 5 star. There are much better bang for your buck hotels in the area.
There was a big roach in my room . Front desk manager was not cooperative . Over all very vary bad
The friendly staff made my stay excellent. They were courteous and nice when I arrived, and when I left they sent me on my way with a water bottle and a snack for the road. The room was relatively comfortable, felt clean, and in general had everything I wanted. the curtains were ugly
The staff was nice and the air conditioning in the room was nice. The free breakfast was ok. Free parking was nice. The room smelt like cigarette smoke every time walking into it. They did not have movie selections for the TV.
A mile from the beach, ten minutes from Legoland and right next to a gas station and Fresh and Easy. It was perfect for us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The floors weren't that clean. My daughter is crawling and her legs were dirty from being on the floor. Also, the door lets in a ton of light as did the patio door. I love that the building was well lit, but the rooms didn't shield a lot of that light well.
Conveniently located, good breakfast, new tub. The A/C was a challenge to get it to stay on. Some of the TV channels were fuzzy and I could not locate a guide. It was a bit noisy.
Staff was great and accommodating.
THE WORST! Best western charged me for two days when my hotel check in/ check out was within a 12 hour period. Management (cipriano) was extremely rude, using offensive language when trying to get a refund. The A/C didn't work and when I called the front desk they read me the instructions but would not fix the issue. Toilet smelled and there was hair in the shower from previous guests. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Very nice manager Comfortable room and bed
Location Complimentary breakfast Maid service Price (Only $60!!) Swimming pool None
The bed was firm. Room had a refrigerator. Complimentary breakfast was adequate, coffee was good. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Thin walls, could hear the couple next door "having fun." Towels were thin and frayed, not soft. Carpet was frayed. Got cold during the night, and there were no extra blankets in the room. Door to the outside was left open, which is a safety risk for me.
Pier is across the street. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Hotel is also a timeshare resort so oceanview rooms were not available.
Very clean facility, professional, friendly and helpful staff, location was awesome. Would have liked a room facing the ocean
I loved the location of the hotel, the room was great. They were really pushy with the Vacation Timeshare piece, offered $100 off my room if I would take a tour, explained I was in town for my grandpa's funeral and the man continued on asking me if I would like to go to Sea World. I explained I was here for a funeral and wasn't up for any of that, he continued to ask me what my favorite shows were etc. Completely inconsiderate. The train went past about every hour and with the station just a block or two away with the train passing came lots of whisle blowing which made sleep possible only in between whistle blows which was about every hour.
The location was perfect. The restaurant was very good. The rooms were well appointed and luxurious. There was no room service. It wasn't as much a hotel as a "rent a condo", which I did not pick up in the Internet.
the hotel is well located, clean and a very friendly staff with a great restaurant the train noise in the night
Absolutely beautiful, oceanview from the balcony, beach directly across the street. Friendly staff very accomodating. For some unknown reason booking.com canceled my reservation when I arrived to check in the hotel clerk told me this causing some panic upon my part as I had flown a very long way, and momentarily thinking I had no where to stay! The hotel staff was extremely accomodating and were able to book me into a room that was indeed fabulous. I will not be booking anything again on your website.
I would like to have free use of a computer. I did not travel with my computer. The computer server was down so it did not accept my credit card either.
Good location Force fed time share sales pitch. Toilet bowl brush in toilet bowl when arrived.
how clean and friendly the staff were and how close it was to the beach. just the sofa bed. It was very uncomfortable.
The hotel staff were very nice and helpful. The resort was centrally located. It was a very comfortable stay. The Studio room did not have a refrigerator or microwave.
It was across the street from the Oceanside Pier and the beach. The check in procedure took too long. You had to wait in line to check in, and then go to different spot to wait in line to get your parking pass. The check in process took almost half an hour. Also, check-in time was 4:00 p.m. and check-out time the next morning was 10:00 A.M. It's the earliest check-out time I've ever encountered.
I loved this place, wish I could stay longer..... It was perfect distance between LA and San Diego! Lots of things to do around the hotel (that's right across the street from the beach. Next time, I will pay extra for a beach facing room. The train goes by the other side.
Everything ! but the train....... The Train!!!!!
Nothing The train runs right next to the hotel, so forget about getting a good night sleep. If you book thru a third party they will remind you and you will get no help from the hotel. The are few options for parking and the valet is very expensive$$$$$$. They only have 1 elevator working and the one that works takes forever. The only thing this hotel has is good location.
The room was amazing. The view was great. There's everything around. Walking distance to the beach. The valet parking I could've done without. The breakfast sucks.
The staff was all very helpful, and kind. The breakfast was satisfying and it was nice that they had a separate to eat in and cartoons on for the kids. The pool was warm enough to be very inviting and the hot tub was a good size, so it never felt cramped. We were amazed by how easy to find it was, and it was near shopping, grocery store, a Starbucks, gas station , In n Out Burger, and LEGOLAND!!!!! The shuttle to and from LEGOLAND made us very thankful for picking this hotel! We would love to stay there again and see more of beautiful Carlsbad! The mini fridge in our room was loud, but I think they all are. The ice machine closest to us wasn't working, but we never mentioned it to the staff. We found another one not far from our room.
Everything was as stated in advertisement. Will return again. Selecting channels as referred in guide difficult.
I liked that I only stayed one night of my 4 night reservation and then moved to a real resort. I didn't like that there was not a shower curtain. I didn't like that at check in, the staff appearance was substandard. I didn't like that Miranda could have informed me that the wifi was not working at check in . Especially since I specifically asked for wifi login information. I had to call and ask for help logging in. That's when Miranda told me the wifi wasn't working. I didn't like that I may as well have been in the room with the guests above our room. We could hear everything. I didn't like that there were no towels at the pool. The cable TV service was virtually unwatchable. I didn't like that they refer to this place as a resort. I didn't like that this property even charges a resort fee! Ridiculous.
Great location to restaurants and outlet mall! Very pleased with the shuttle service to and from Legoland. Good hotel for familiesand breakfast was pleasant.
The hotel is a short walk to legoland. The pool there is really nice.my son and I had a great time
I found a died roch in my room!
Shuttle and friendly desk help. LOUD freeway. Initially difficult to find the address (misleading street address).
The staff was very helpful and friendly It's a dated facility and will be time for a face lift soon
Spacious rooms, nice gardens and pool The internet signal very weak and slow. For business traveler (as well for all travelers) its essential nowadays! Only in the reception the WIFI was more or less OK. Needs improvment!
Location is blocks from Legoland and across the street from the outlets Breakfast was pretty good Staff was friendly Parking was abundant and close to the room Room fixtures and decor were older Beds were moderately comfortable Had to wait more than 30 min for a "more blankets" request
I liked how central the location was to food places and things to do. Did not like how poorly lit the hotel was, narrow TV channels provided, TV was small, only offered two hot breakfast items. Overall I would say this place is one step up from a Motel 6.
Location Room quality, cleanliness, breakfast
Loved the location and the friendly staff. Nice clean and newly remodeled rooms. I wish they would include breakfast
Staff was very friendly and accomodating. had several problems with key card not working. Had to have front desk re-set it several times and trade in cards that were not working (inconvenience)
Room was clean and very comfortable Price of wine was too high - $14 for 8 ounces. No free coffee in morning. Breakfast was great but pricy. Coffee, eggs, sausage, and fruit about $24.
I tried to check out early due to personal matters & was charged for a room that I did not occupy for the last evening. Cancellation on booking was offered when booking was made. Related groups fishing for $ from a simple Hotel booking resulted in lack of accountability by staff & an unhappy patron. Will NOT do so again as reps on booking were not honoured.
Clean and spacious room. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff The maid skipped our room one day. The staff did bring up clean towels.
We enjoyed our stay, it was comfortable and very clean. We also enjoyed our breakfast! The only downside was the limited use of hot water. There wasn't any!
Very friendly staff. Food is very pricey but good
Received a notice the night before my stay that my reservation had been cancelled.
love the location of the resort. The pool area is very nice and a great place to relax. Food pretty expensive
Dog friendly. Easy going and helpful staff. Good location. Great value.
Remodel no pool, no jacuzzi
Rooms had a musty smell was unsure if it was the airconditioninv system or that there was no real ventilation in the room..
Proximity to Legoland. Child friendly atmosphere. Pool was great for kids. Housekeeping arriving after 5 pm.
I loved the location. Walking distance from legoland, short drive to a variety of restaurants, and the Carlsbad outlet mall. Great family pool with splash pad and a onsite park. Rooms had a microwave and mini-fridge. It was kind of pricey.
Location to Legoland The room wasn't cleaned until the last day of our stay. There was construction going on. And, our room was dirty from the previous tenants. Not sure if the lack of attention was because we used Kayak, or if the Hotel is just that bad. I was surprised.
Very close to Legoland, 3 min walking distance, the swiming pool area is very nice... and the hotel staff is very kind
Close to Legoland. Karl Strauss on site. Pool options. Friendly staff. Still under construction in the "hotel" area. Lots of areas closed off with yellow tape, plastic covering on floors, one kids water park fountain toy was out of service.
This is a BEAUTIFUL RESORT, the location is EXCELLENT and the view is AMAZING but... We were walking around in the room barefoot and after 15 min we noticed the bottom of our feet were BLACK. The carpet in our room was disgustingly dirty!!! Then there was not hot water for our entire stay. I understand hot water was a mechanical issue but dirty carpet in the rooms in a lack of cleanliness.
very nice pool with kids pool. nice amenities. great location. hotel needs updating. very squeaky floors with old carpet.
Good breakfast and location! Room was a good size and beds were comfortable. Pool was small and air conditioner was squeaky. The hall floors and stairs were dirty.
We planned on staying one day but for the price location and how well it worked for my family we decided to stay another day. Rooms are roomy beds r comfortable even the kids liked the pull out couch all in all for 79 to 69 for a double room king suit u can't beat that . plus they had two tv so the adults and the kids didnt have to fight over it. When we first got here they said my king suit wasnt available and wanted to give me a different room but after i show my confirmation he looked again and some how we got the room i origanly got . another neg is they didn't leave any bedding for the pull out couch and we didn't get any tell after midnight which means my kids were up tell 1am. And i went to the office 3 times to get it.
I had a few issues but the Mgr took care of it! Manny was awesome and made my stay better!
The location and proximity to the freeway, shopping and restaurants as well as the beach. The carpet on the stairs, aisle way and hallways is horribly nasty, stained and dirty. It has not been vacuumed in months, much less shampooed. The carpet was so filthy, that bugs would not survive its filthiness.Looks like large oil spills and something reminiscent of an auto repair facility. The staff is totally incompetent. They booked me into a room, yet had me listed into a different room for housekeeping. So, the next morning, housekeeping kept attempting to enter my room without knocking on 3 occasions, even though I had told them I was paid up and staying another day. I called the front desk to complain on 2 occasions and the housekeepers still were adamant about coming in without knocking. I called to complain about smokers nearby and nothing was done on 2 different days. The toilets were stopped up and when I complained to the front desk, they handed me a plunger instead of sending someone to fix their inadequate plumbing.
To be honest other than it was my last option at the time that was the only reason I stayed there. I drove by and did not look any better. The staff was nice enough. To start off the room was very spacious but it was old and antiquated with remanence of old furniture that were left over. The room was never that clean smells like old folks and mothballs.
The rooms were large and comfortable. The beds were very comfortable. The breakfast was adequate. The selection was not big' but it was very good. The pool and hot tub were relaxing. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay The walls were thin. You could hear people moving about above and beside you.
Location to the beach while being very affordable. Best view for being off ocean. Breakfast could have been offered for a longer period of time. It was only served until 930.
The location was great. The hotel was near some really good restaurants and close to the amusement park and mission we visited. The view of the ocean was good too. The internet access was poor, not sure if that was just the area of the hotel our room was located or not, and breakfast could have had a bit more to it.
Beaches Hotel upstaires
The staff were very, very nice. Especially the maintenance and housekeeping staff! The entire facility looked run-down and the room we paid for seemed sterile. Meaning the room appeared to have had the bare necessities invested in it. The sheets felt like they had been washed and dried in sand. I ran my hand across the top and between the sheets and it felt like sand. Maybe it was just soap that didn't get washed out but it wasn't comfortable to sleep on. The location felt industrialized and they have you sign an agreement at check-in agreeing that the motel isn't responsible for lost or stolen items. It made me wonder how safe the area is and if the staff themselves are honest as they are the only ones who should have access to the rooms. I will pay more to stay more than one night somewhere else.
Great location walking distance to Oceanside Pier. Very clean and comfortable. Didn't have Ocean view.
pool toilet broken, never got fix, room dirty, loud people next door
Location was great. close to freeway and Camp Pendleton Main entrance. Noise from freeway was a problem if outside, but not inside the room. The heat/air conditioner was so high on the wall that I needed to stand on a chair to even see the controls.
Room location, no suspicious people around. Cars are easily visible from room. We rented a king size bed room, it was clean and did not smell. It was perfect for crashing after a long day at Legoland. The water pressure. What should have been a two minute shower turned into a 15 minute + shower because the pressure was that weak. Had to use my cell phone internet because the hotel internet appeared to not be working. I was still able to get my work done while may family enjoyed the TV so I am happy.
The guest next door had a dog.
Everything you need as an adult. Casino, easy access on and off freeway, a variety of places to eat out at and to buy odds and ends ( walmart , el super, 99 cent store ect..) plus a 24 hour mexican restraunt, and convenient stores The grounds outside the motel rooms are a bit dirty well a bit worn out. Landscaping what little there is, it could look better, walkways could use a good pressure washing every now and then.
Check in was an hour late and rooms were filthy. The next day the water was turned off for hours so me and my young children had to rinse off the beach sand in the pool and go to dinner smelling like the beach!!!!! Staff is very unprofessional and didn't seem to care. When they did "clean the room" it looked like it took them 5 minutes to clean. This is a horrible hotel and worst experience I had ever had. I will never again stay in a Travelodge hotel!!!!
Beds are supper comfy bath room was very pretty and clean
Woke up to 3 large cock roaches by the tv, carpet completely filthy, shower tub gray from filth.
Good location. rooms are not clean, the continental breakfast is short of supplies.
everything The bathroom was too small for the room
We were looking for a quiet getaway; this was not it. There were families with kids above and next to our room and we got pretty bad sleep. Slamming doors, loud TV's, running and on and on - quite late and then early in the morning. I asked for a quiet room and got nothing but noise.
Loved the setting and the grounds. The room size was huge with a separate bath tub from the shower stall which was really nice. Love the out door patio and the staff was very friendly. The room smelled very musty and was freezing, probably to hide the smell. I never could get the room warm enough for my wife and I but fortunately, it was a VERY WARM weekend and we left the french doors open the whole time to get that desired warmth into the room. We were an older room of theirs so I'm not sure if this is the reason for the musty smell but it was pretty strong for our stay there. Had I been there more than one night, I definitely would have requested another room.
They didn't have my reservation and asked me to send an email to confirm that I had a reservation
Love this place... Property grounds are impeccable! Rooms are clean and updated. Always a great time!
I liked that the resort has a welcoming feel and that most all of the rooms (besides the villas) were surrounded by the amenities. 1. The prices in the Marketplace. $16 for a water noodle, when they sell them for $7 right down the street! That would be hard especially for people who are having to buy for more than one kid. 2. Our bed. It was not very comfortable
Everything. Love love love. Looking right now to go back. :) More food options. That's all
The room and pool area was nice. Blue fire grill was fabulous! Front desk staff was unhelpful on multiple occasions. The day spa is mediocre at best and is long overdue for renovations! Indoor facility grout is disgusting and the indoor hot tubs are falling apart!
The pool was way too overcrowded. I think they sell membership to to the pool to the community making it unusable to the hotel guests. There were so many people you could hardly move in it and the water was so cloudy I couldnt even see my feet. Will never go back to this hotel.
Very kid-friendly and the proximity to Legoland was nice. The staff were generally pretty helpful. The gym had a good selection of equipment. For the price, the room that we had was sub-par. The wallpaper in the bathroom was peeling and the shower was pretty run-down. Although some of the gym equipment had televisions built in, there was limited volume despite the supplying of headphones. Couldn't really hear anything while running on the treadmill.
Room was spacious and clean, shower was great, location was great. I was woken up by housekeeping in the morning on the day I checked out- I would have liked to sleep in! And I don't like the hidden "resort fee".
Everything perfect down to the smallest little detail (like little letter-sponges with our sons name)
Privacy and cleanliness Concierge could not find our reservations a few days before arrival (we were staying nearby and just stopped by to confirm location). Evidently not under our name and she kept telling us this hotel was for residents. I later called the hotel with conf #
The grounds the facility were on were beautiful. The room was very nice and in great condition. The location is a little remote.
I loved the room and the fact that it was right by the lake. It had a great view. The only thing I didn't like was that hardly and water came out from the shower or the sink but besides that everything else was great!
The s'more kit upon check in, super friendly and helpful staff. Very nice room, comfortable and well maintained. We were in town for a soccer tournament and the weather was in 60s so we would have liked to enjoy the pool and lake activities.
great value for the price. We had a great time !
Super helpful and friendly staff, nice facilities, pools were awesome for relaxing during the day. The check-in time of four and check-out time of eleven is a little tight, but we requested a later check out (noon) and that made it closer to what we are used to at other hotels. They offered to let us use the pool after checking out so that was really nice of them.
Great staff, truly care about you...my husband was having surgery and they wanted to make sure he had everything he needed to be comtorable and have a room on the first floor and they also upgraded us to a room that was right on the lake free of charge:) amazing beds, showers, true spa like feel The only thing that bothers me is that you can't check in until 4 and you have to check out by 11
We loved the room, bed was really comfortable. Had a great nights sleep. The pool area is great. Cabanas, two pools, two jacuzzis, and two firepitts. Plenty of space. Staff was nice but not very knowledgeable. No one ever went out of their way to help if there was a problem.
Loved the atmosphere. Calm by the lake. Family oriented! Felt like vacation! Music, bar, and s'mores by the pool! The lake and the boat rental our favorite part! Drinks at the pool bar a little pricey.
The room was smaller than I expected. The layout of the room was also weird
Tons of bugs. Couldn't use the beautiful balcony.
We LOVED our one-night stay at the Lakehouse! From the moment we arrived to the moment we left - everything was perfect. We booked it last minute as a fun little getaway during the holidays. We got a pretty good deal since we stayed the night before New Year's Eve (12/30). The hotel texted us to let us know our room was ready and we were able to check in around 1 PM. We had a ground floor pool view room. Every room has a balcony with bright yellow adirondack chairs and it was really nice sitting outside our room, with a cup of coffee and my book. They had quiet reggae music playing at the pool and I really enjoyed it! The room was IMMACULATE. Everything felt new and crisp and clean. I loved the color scheme and layout too. The room was really spacious and just overall lovely. It was just 2 of us for one night but I did notice that there were a TON of outlets throughout the room. Nice touch in this day and age when we all have so many electronics to charge :) The pools were both heated and almost warm enough for me to swim in (On December 30, mind you). We loved the jacuzzis though! I wish we'd been there on a Friday when they serve Sangria at the pool! (oh well, we'll just have to go back). In the evening they have fire pits around the pools that they light and it was really pretty and romantic. The grounds were really peaceful and tranquil. And even though the hotel was probably at low to moderate capacity - it feels like the type of place that even when it's full, it doesn't feel crowded. I noticed that another couple was checked into the room next to us, and there were people above them, but I never heard anyone at all when we were in our room. They serve free coffee in the morning at their little cafe and it was better than that your standard free hotel coffee. We walked by the lake, but didn't participate in any of the many lake activities. I also went for a run in the neighborhood in the morning and it's a really cute little community. We had a great time at the Lakehouse and kept saying we really wanted to bring friends back!
The Lakehouse has a lot of potential and gets a lot of things right, but it lets the little details get in the way of really hitting the mark. Pros: - Comfortable beds - Full showers - Beautiful pools - Friendly staff - Free Wi-Fi - Free parking - Mini fridge - Activities for kids Cons: - Noise - Bugs - Outside light - No safe in room - No plugs at computer desk - Wi-Fi drops and is unreliable Most rooms are motel-style and open directly to the outside, which can be noisy and makes it much easier for bugs to end up in the room (especially with the rooms being so close to the lake). We had mosquitos and silverfish in our room two or three days in a row.
I like the location I was promised a ocean view I got a parking l
Cape Rey was a lovely place to stay and I wouldn't mind coming back for a longer stay. Only had the chance to spend a beautiful weekend there, can't imagine how amazing it'd be in the summer. Staff was very helpful, approachable and kind.
Food was awful, I would have expected better especially considering the simplicity of my order and the cost. I ordered a cheeseburger which was burned and the worst quality. The pizza I ordered tasted like cardboard. When I was checking out I waited about 5 minutes for the front desk agent to come back, she came up from the hallway with a cup of coffee in hand and didn't even apologize for the wait.
