close to Legoland enough I called the hotel a month before to arrange a two-bed room. The front desk said it's fine and did not mention any surcharge. However, later when we check in, the front desk asked us to pay a surcharge. It's waived later, but still annoying.
I liked how close it was to many eateries and shopping areas as well as Camp Pendleton. There was a horrid smell of mildew once u walked in the hallways. There was a gross amount of dust on top of the tv stand. We found m and ms next to our bed that never got picked up during our stay.
Location was great. Not too far off the freeway and great shopping centers near by. Staff made it very easy to check in but not friendly. Room smelt like weed when we first walked in. Closet door was broken so we couldn't use it. Beds where ok. I guess I got what I paid for. Glad I just stayed for one night.
Location. And we always like a hotel that offers breakfast, it helps get your busy day started. Rooms were clean, the hallway carpets needed some work.
Helpful front desk clerk Breakfast never varied.
They charged my card three time and almost left me with NO MONEY. Honestly I would never stay there again They charged my card three time and almost left me with NO MONEY. Honestly I would never stay there again
Dirty Towels, dirty bed, and smell like 'near homeless person' Just location, nothing else worth to stay.
Location rooms very spacious The fact the i stayed for two nights first morning went to get breakfast and the manager asked for my name and room number before walking in the breakfast area. She only ask me. Later on i find out the she said i came from a different hotel. To get food
Loved the spa
Homeless people are in the hallway to get soda from the vending machine. This is unsafe practice and the hallway door does not close.
The room was comfy and big enough for our needs. The breakfast was substantial and tasty. The location was excellent. We had a squeaky air conditioner in our room that was annoying and the hallway floors and stairwell were in need of cleaning. The pool was disappointingly small...
Loved the breakfast especially the waffles. Free wi-fi and parking. Close to freeway. not much of a view. Hallway needed to be vacuumed as there was pretzel crumbs scattered in front of someone's hotel door.
The room was way to warm and stuffy. Air unit to low and blew against the bed. Unable to adjust the temperature to cool the room.
Your facilities were absolutely perfect for my needs. My family was there visiting my son who is a U.S. marine. It was so conveniant to his location and your facilities were clean helpful and absolutely beautiful. Thank you for a great experience with our family. There was nothing about your facilities that I didn't like. It was a wonderful place to stay and fit my needs perfectly. Thank you.
I always love their breakfast. Coffee was better than I make at home. I love the dark wood furniture, nice room lighting. Business/homey Maybe a bit bigger -plus infers a suite.
A great location for or plans in Oceanside. We will stay here again in the future.
Very nice room with good amenities. The breakfast was very good and the property was clean and well maintained. I would recommend this as a great place to spend a few days when on vacation or for business travels.
Close to the beach and south entrance to Camp Pendleton. Clean rooms and pool. Property well maintained. Small bathroom, walking paths in rooms and hallways.
All the amenities, breakfast Bath towels were little thin
Staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were clean and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Close to everything, we walked just about everywhere we were looking to go, no problem. Solid stay for the money especially. The immediate surrounding area is a little shady, a bit of a beat up motel 6 and a trailer park type area, but it wasn't a problem and barely noticed it was there. Only other small negative I can think of is the shower didn't drain very well, but I think I just seem to get those rooms.
Location Complimentary breakfast Maid service Price (Only $60!!) Swimming pool None
Conveniently located, good breakfast, new tub. The A/C was a challenge to get it to stay on. Some of the TV channels were fuzzy and I could not locate a guide. It was a bit noisy.
The staff was nice and the air conditioning in the room was nice. The free breakfast was ok. Free parking was nice. The room smelt like cigarette smoke every time walking into it. They did not have movie selections for the TV.
The bed was firm. Room had a refrigerator. Complimentary breakfast was adequate, coffee was good. Staff was cheerful and helpful. Thin walls, could hear the couple next door "having fun." Towels were thin and frayed, not soft. Carpet was frayed. Got cold during the night, and there were no extra blankets in the room. Door to the outside was left open, which is a safety risk for me.
There was a big roach in my room . Front desk manager was not cooperative . Over all very vary bad
A mile from the beach, ten minutes from Legoland and right next to a gas station and Fresh and Easy. It was perfect for us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. The floors weren't that clean. My daughter is crawling and her legs were dirty from being on the floor. Also, the door lets in a ton of light as did the patio door. I love that the building was well lit, but the rooms didn't shield a lot of that light well.
Very nice manager Comfortable room and bed
The friendly staff made my stay excellent. They were courteous and nice when I arrived, and when I left they sent me on my way with a water bottle and a snack for the road. The room was relatively comfortable, felt clean, and in general had everything I wanted. the curtains were ugly
Location, close to everything and right off the freeway Old, musty, run down with prehistoric bathroom. Breakfast makes hospital meals look 5 star. There are much better bang for your buck hotels in the area.
THE WORST! Best western charged me for two days when my hotel check in/ check out was within a 12 hour period. Management (cipriano) was extremely rude, using offensive language when trying to get a refund. The A/C didn't work and when I called the front desk they read me the instructions but would not fix the issue. Toilet smelled and there was hair in the shower from previous guests. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
Staff was great and accommodating.
Staff was very friendly and accomodating. had several problems with key card not working. Had to have front desk re-set it several times and trade in cards that were not working (inconvenience)
Loved the location and the friendly staff. Nice clean and newly remodeled rooms. I wish they would include breakfast
It was close to the harbor with a cool ocean breeze for the west side rooms and it was quiet. Would have liked a small table and chair and a microwave for the price of the room. The path to the harbor was steep and slippery on the dirt. We had to drive instead.
Close to Camp Pendleton and to the pier and nearby beach. Ants in the bathroom poor bedding.
Close to the beach.
Bathroom was not as clean as it should have been, dirty floor and soap on the walls of the shower made it a little grungy. The security lock on the door was hanging on by a thread.
Well, I think english should be spoken at your front desk.the staff should check rooms, to make sure no was smoking before you rent the rooms out.non-smoke means non-smoke
I've stayed at the hotel before about two years ago. Back then the linens and bedspreads were questionable, Internet connection sporadic, dirty carpets and bathroom unclean. I thought for what I paid then ($69) the accommodations should have been at least to a three star standard. This time I can see there has been much improvement over the comfort ability of the hotel. The pool is up and running with a hot tub that works very well and clean. Bathroom was clean with heated floors, my favorite. Internet worked first try and new bed with nice clean linens. Carpets still need some work and the first night there the sewage line from the upstairs backed up into our bathroom sink. Not a good smell to have in the middle of the night. Overall a good stay and I will stay there again if the price remains the same.
Staff was excellent, considerate and personable. Great location near the harbor. Cleanliness was mediocre. Pool and hot tub closed at 9:00 PM.
Bed was comfortable, very close to the beach, staff was friendly The bathtub was dirty and a wash rag was left wet in the tub, the towels were nicely folded but the looked dirty.
went to teh harbor walked and enjoyed the spa no
I enjoyed it Parking around back alittle crowded
Location, location, location Our only sink would not drain on our second night. The hotel was fully booked so they offered to get us a room at another hotel since there wasn't another room for us to move to or they could contact a plumber. We chose the plumber since we were already settled in and it was late. He got there pretty quickly but it took him quite awhile to fix the sink. He actually had to return the next morning with a part. Regardless, these things happen and they did there best to accommodate us. Would still comeback again.
The location was great - walking distance to the harbor. The staff was excellent. Freeway noise? At least I think it was the freeway
Homie at the front desk was on point with his friendliness and professionalism. Wish I remembered his name to give him dem proper props. Pillow selection on each bed was a nice touch. Sometimes I bring my own pillow but when you get to choose from a batch of 17 pillows how can you miss? No liquor in the room prior to arrival. That's about it, really.
The only reason I reserved a room at this hotel was because it was the only hotel in the area that stated it had a suite available for this particular weekend. When you reserve and pay for a suite with two queen beds and a sofa pull out you should get two queen beds with a sofa pull out not whatever is available when you check in. The room I reserved and paid for in advance was classified as a suite but it only provided a queen bed with a queen pull out sofa. I would have been better of requesting a room with two queen beds or better yet staying at a different hotel. We had to make a bed out of the sofa cushions for my 6 year old daughter to sleep on.
Friendly staff, nice bed and a good breakfast. Hotel was a little dated.
The location suited my needs because I was there for the Carlsbad Half Marathon. It was walking distance (less than a mile) to the start line so it was nice not to have to deal with parking. The front desk staff was very friendly and informative. The hotel accommodates race participants by allowing a later checkout, which was so nice to be able to shower and clean up after the run. The room was pretty clean. My room was on the end on the second floor and there was a bit of noise from the staircase that was right across the hall. I could hear people stomping around what seemed like upstairs but could have been from the staircase. The hotel is also just off Highway 78, so there is some noise from that. I would recommend using earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The towels were a bit scratchy, which I can tolerate. There was one towel that had a not one, but two hairs on it, which I can't tolerate.
Good enough for one night A little expensive for during the week
Checked in around 6. Room smelled like smoke and something else (non-smoking room with cig burns on the window sill.) Space all tile, very cold. Asked for a refund by 1pm due to MOUSE in the room! We were told that they knew but just couldn't find it but happily assured me that the bed had been treated for bedbugs, yes, just hours before we lay our body's and face on it!)! Really?
For the price it was a very nice hotel. Excellent customer service. Two blocks from the Harbor which had several eateries. Loved that the rooms were newly remodeled. Comfortable beds.
Horrible location next to the I-5. Couldn't get any sleep because of the noise.
pool toilet broken, never got fix, room dirty, loud people next door
Room location, no suspicious people around. Cars are easily visible from room. We rented a king size bed room, it was clean and did not smell. It was perfect for crashing after a long day at Legoland. The water pressure. What should have been a two minute shower turned into a 15 minute + shower because the pressure was that weak. Had to use my cell phone internet because the hotel internet appeared to not be working. I was still able to get my work done while may family enjoyed the TV so I am happy.
Location was great. close to freeway and Camp Pendleton Main entrance. Noise from freeway was a problem if outside, but not inside the room. The heat/air conditioner was so high on the wall that I needed to stand on a chair to even see the controls.
Beaches Hotel upstaires
The location was great. The hotel was near some really good restaurants and close to the amusement park and mission we visited. The view of the ocean was good too. The internet access was poor, not sure if that was just the area of the hotel our room was located or not, and breakfast could have had a bit more to it.
Great location walking distance to Oceanside Pier. Very clean and comfortable. Didn't have Ocean view.
Location to the beach while being very affordable. Best view for being off ocean. Breakfast could have been offered for a longer period of time. It was only served until 930.
The staff were very, very nice. Especially the maintenance and housekeeping staff! The entire facility looked run-down and the room we paid for seemed sterile. Meaning the room appeared to have had the bare necessities invested in it. The sheets felt like they had been washed and dried in sand. I ran my hand across the top and between the sheets and it felt like sand. Maybe it was just soap that didn't get washed out but it wasn't comfortable to sleep on. The location felt industrialized and they have you sign an agreement at check-in agreeing that the motel isn't responsible for lost or stolen items. It made me wonder how safe the area is and if the staff themselves are honest as they are the only ones who should have access to the rooms. I will pay more to stay more than one night somewhere else.
Check in was an hour late and rooms were filthy. The next day the water was turned off for hours so me and my young children had to rinse off the beach sand in the pool and go to dinner smelling like the beach!!!!! Staff is very unprofessional and didn't seem to care. When they did "clean the room" it looked like it took them 5 minutes to clean. This is a horrible hotel and worst experience I had ever had. I will never again stay in a Travelodge hotel!!!!
Good location. rooms are not clean, the continental breakfast is short of supplies.
Everything you need as an adult. Casino, easy access on and off freeway, a variety of places to eat out at and to buy odds and ends ( walmart , el super, 99 cent store ect..) plus a 24 hour mexican restraunt, and convenient stores The grounds outside the motel rooms are a bit dirty well a bit worn out. Landscaping what little there is, it could look better, walkways could use a good pressure washing every now and then.
Beds are supper comfy bath room was very pretty and clean
Woke up to 3 large cock roaches by the tv, carpet completely filthy, shower tub gray from filth.
It was great. Walking distance to several nice restaurants; ocean and beach were across the street. n/a
Very comfortable, clean, inviting, private, and safe. That there wasn't even a bench for a smoker to sit on when they smoked on the sidewalk.
proximity to beach/restaurants
Location and cleanliness. View from the sun deck. We had two double beds which were too narrow to share. The breakfast was a bit simple and could have been alot more comfortable with normail sized plates instead of the litte plastic plates which forced you too juggle everything. Coffee was terrrrible. Staff could have been more friendly.
My expectations were well met - a basic hotel across the street from the beach, within walking distance to town shops and restaurants.
The hotel was clean & confortable, the front desk person was very pleasant and helpful. n/a
the view, quietness and no smoking facility
I can best describe this Lodge as "home like". The amenities and ambiance are so pleasant that my wife and I decided it would be a good place to spend a week at some point in the future. We had a great stay and will definitely return. The continental breakfast is well presented and met our needs nicely. The location of the Lodge is great, across the street from the beach and near quaint shopping and restaurants.
location right across the street from the beach and able to walk to shops, resutrants etc.; comfortable beds; rooms very clean; it was nice to have continental breakfast in the mornings and look out over the ocean the shower was awful- poor water pressure and it was either cold or scalding
Close to the beach, nice continental breakfast, close to good restaurants and shopping. parking in carport was very narrow hard to unload luggage and get out of car.

Staff was friendly enough to discount after the mishap we had we booked a non smoking room and received a smoking room, the room reaked of smoke as well as the entire hallway we stayed in.
Although the Extended Stay America brand is not one of favorite hotel chains this one had been completely renovated and would qualify as an exceptional 2-1/2 star hotel for any brand. We would make it a point to stay there again when in the area. We were told that the outdoor pool was heated but it was not.

Our room had a kitchenette which was nice. Room was clean, love the idea of no carpet, it helps the room feel cleaner. However, there were no kitchen goods, i.e. pots, pans, utensils, cups, plates, etc. You could get these items but I think there was a charge associated with it.
The staff were attentive to our needs. The location is very close to Legoland. I booked a non-smoking room and was given a smoking room. The hotel did not have a non smoking room until the 2nd night of our stay. Some minor maintenance issues such as the toilet seat of the first room was loose and the towel bar fell down.
I did not expect to have a kitchenette room. I did not know this hotel carried them. But, I was overjoyed that I did get one!!! My son has a very selective pallet for food, so I was able to make him anything that he needed in the room that I was given.
Staff was exceptionally nice. Very close to the beach. Great stay!!!!
Large, great kitchen and an nice easy-chair

They tried to put me in a smoking room, which would have set off my allergies. Room I ended up in was in a construction and paint zone. Some fumes were smelt. Under construction, was woken up by loud banging at 08:20 AM.
The property overall is quite noisy from the inside guest traffic not outside street traffic. Whenever closeby guests move around, take showers or walk outside the rooms, we heard pretty much everything. It seems the property us quite old and does not have guest noise cancellation of any form. Thank you.
Can't beat the location.
The location across the street from the beach, near Carlsbad Village, and Legoland was great. Nice size rooms. The Rec room, in-room DVD players, and DVD library are great for families. Free parking, wifi, and breakfast. Tub and shower tile a little dated. The beds and bedding were not as comfortable as other hotels.
Location. Large rooms. Nice amenities. Cockroaches in bathrooms by pool area. Should provide easier access to beach towels.
even though it is not walking distance from the local downtown Carlsbad area I really enjoyed the quiet and tranquility of the location. I can honestly say all my needs were met with the staff actually going above and beyond it is definitely a Stay again location I've currently stayed there twice and I am rather concerned over the fact that both times I was put in a specific room the first time the room was under maintenance so I was put in a different room the second time the room is available and I was put in it I kept hearing rambling in the pipes underneath the sink . some might say that's just a coincidence but I am truly curious to Why
Our maid was very attentive and she did a good job of giving us clean bed sheets and having the towels placed perfectly. There were bugs. I kind of expected it and I'm not really a squirmish person anyway,I know California has a lot of bugs but when I first walked into the room I had to kill two spiders. One rather large one on the wall and the other on the carpet. I then proceeded to check the corners because that's usually where you find webs and there was a roach? Type insect that was already dead. Upon inspecting the wall I also noticed the remains of a spider someone else had killed. The shower handle leaked water and we noticed ants crawling around the shower walls. Also we stayed in room 112 and our door just stopped working. Not even the master key opened it, the manager had to break in through the window and then change the batteries which still didn't solve the problem so a technician had to come in the next morning. Over all for the price it wasn't a horrible place to stay. It felt clean but never again.
carpet was a mess, missing light bulbs, limited pillows and towels. Management could use a lesson or two on customer service
Location The person at the Front Desk rude and a liar he charged more than the Online Rate as I had agreed.
Location is hard to beat. It is within a short, 5-10 min, drive of everything Carlsbad has to offer - from the beach, to Legoland, to the downtown area. All staff were friendly and accommodating and the price was nearly right but could have been better considering the condition of those carpets! The carpets were EXTREMELY dirty and turned our feet black after every shower. Sandals were always needed to avoid this, which can be difficult with children. Please regularly shampoo your carpets if not planning to install new carpet every few years!
I have stayed at the Beach Terrace Inn several times and have always been happy with the staff and service. The rooms are large and well appointed. The location is great as it is on the beach with most rooms having full, unobstructed views of the beach and Pacific Ocean. It is also only a block away from very nice restaurants and shops. No street noise, just the sound of the surf.
location/on the beach room 31 was very noisey, had trouble sleeping due to noise above. I believe the room is directly underneath hotel office and with hardwood floors could hear every footstep.
We liked that it was literally right on the beach. It also had a nice pool area and an outdoor shower to get sand off. The room was spacious and had a beautiful fully-tiled shower. The breakfasts were also very good and had a lot of variety (fresh fruit, hot/cold cereal, yogurt, breads, bagels, pastries, boiled eggs, coffee, tea, juices). The breakfast room has a great view and outdoor spaces. The rate seems a bit steep, particularly for a family with children, since they charge extra for each person.
I liked: Friendly, helpful staff Location on the beach Large attractive room with king bed Pool & beach facing room view Large fancy bathroom Room fridge Wine glasses and corkscrew provided Very close parking Continental breakfast buffet and ample seating Beach equipment loan I didn't like: Area traffic Steep, narrow stairways High price (well, it was right on the beach!)
They offered beach side rooms and the breakfast was great!!!
read books. noise from upstair in the morning.
unbeatable location the staff was not particularly friendly, breakfast was poor. They are going to renovate it...
Location and able to walk through town without having to drive all the time. No
Directly on the ocean, nice balconey, large, modern rooms pricing of accomendations was confusing
loved being right on the beach, wish my room had a better view. loved the town, carlsbad village, could walk to dinner. Very laid back not the usual oceanfront scene, more of a small town feel. I asked the front desk about switching the last night to a room with a better view, the hotel seems pretty empty because it was a tuesday, all they offered was a large room with 2 king beds at twice the rate of my current room. Just wanted a balcony onto the ocean.
Loved being right on the icean and watching sunsets and hearing surf right out of our room. Appreciated continental breakfast. Lovely accomodations. Might be a little difficult for handicapped person to get around, however. The Internet service kept booting me off. My husband could not talk on his iphone (sprint) unless he went out in front of the hotel. I guess Carlsbad limits cell towers.
Great price, great location! 10 minute drive from Legoland! Spacious room! Decent breakfast enough to get you through the morning, but then you'll be starving by lunch time. Waffles, cereal, toast, fruits, simple breakfast.
The accommodation was very good, however the location was poor, the pool was unusable as there was work going on in the surrounding area and construction workers were ever present pool area, as this was almost on top of a busy roadway
This hotel was close to my family, shopping and the beach.
Nice room noisy
location because close to lego land
Worth the money u paid-affordable.Very spacious for a couple. And even if u have a kid below 16 it's still good. Yes,I don't like the location. It's close to the freeway and it's so noisy with all the vehicles passing by.I requested for a non-smoking room but when I used the napkins it smells smoke. They did not provide us with new box of napkins. But if Yuit looking for affordable place, this is recommendable.
I found a died roch in my room!
The staff was all very helpful, and kind. The breakfast was satisfying and it was nice that they had a separate to eat in and cartoons on for the kids. The pool was warm enough to be very inviting and the hot tub was a good size, so it never felt cramped. We were amazed by how easy to find it was, and it was near shopping, grocery store, a Starbucks, gas station , In n Out Burger, and LEGOLAND!!!!! The shuttle to and from LEGOLAND made us very thankful for picking this hotel! We would love to stay there again and see more of beautiful Carlsbad! The mini fridge in our room was loud, but I think they all are. The ice machine closest to us wasn't working, but we never mentioned it to the staff. We found another one not far from our room.
I liked how central the location was to food places and things to do. Did not like how poorly lit the hotel was, narrow TV channels provided, TV was small, only offered two hot breakfast items. Overall I would say this place is one step up from a Motel 6.
Great location to restaurants and outlet mall! Very pleased with the shuttle service to and from Legoland. Good hotel for familiesand breakfast was pleasant.
I liked that I only stayed one night of my 4 night reservation and then moved to a real resort. I didn't like that there was not a shower curtain. I didn't like that at check in, the staff appearance was substandard. I didn't like that Miranda could have informed me that the wifi was not working at check in . Especially since I specifically asked for wifi login information. I had to call and ask for help logging in. That's when Miranda told me the wifi wasn't working. I didn't like that I may as well have been in the room with the guests above our room. We could hear everything. I didn't like that there were no towels at the pool. The cable TV service was virtually unwatchable. I didn't like that they refer to this place as a resort. I didn't like that this property even charges a resort fee! Ridiculous.
Location Room quality, cleanliness, breakfast
The hotel is a short walk to legoland. The pool there is really nice.my son and I had a great time
The staff was very helpful and friendly It's a dated facility and will be time for a face lift soon
Location was good. Close to shopping Staff was very rude
Shuttle and friendly desk help. LOUD freeway. Initially difficult to find the address (misleading street address).
Spacious rooms, nice gardens and pool The internet signal very weak and slow. For business traveler (as well for all travelers) its essential nowadays! Only in the reception the WIFI was more or less OK. Needs improvment!
Good location for my visit. Beach was nearby. Carpet could use a cleaning.
location Had pizza from room service - came quickly but was burnt
Location, location, location!! I have stayed many times at this Hilton and we love it from proximity to the beach and Carlsbad Village. Heated pool and outdoors movie night are great too! Super nice and friendly staff. $12 fee for parking
Location. Cleanliness. Cookies. Hot tub.
How close it was to the beach and the little restaurant/bar downstairs. Access to the beach was not good. Even though it was right across the street from the beach and the cross walk was great, there were no stairs down to the beach. One has to walk a ways down and climb down some rocks or a steep slippery path to access the beach. Stairs would easily remedy this situation.
`the hotel is better than others I have experienced in the chain, staff was very helpful, place is clean and nicely decorated Really nothing to complain about
I felt I was being nickled and dimed everywhere at this hotel. Charges for parking and no fridge in the room. The pool was overheated. There was nothing special about this hotel.
