The staff were very friendly and wanted to please the guests so that they enjoyed their stay. Everything about the hotel was first class. (A+) Could not be faulted
silence. Not many people arround. No bumping into cleaners. Own free time. Friendly staff.
The staff were friendly, the accomodation was luxurious and the views were superb. I will definitely be back! No, everything was accessible, clean and the hospitality was great.
good breakfast Room had balcony with view of estuary Difficult access to room with very unsafe landing at top of the stairs
The staff where very helpful and friendly, there was a great choice of breakfast and the cooked breakfast was delicious. We stayed with our 3 teenages and the family unit was completely adequate.
Loved every second I was there. The view is spectacular, the staff members are fantastic and the room was awesome!! A truly special place!!
The view of the lagoon from our balcony was superb. The food at breakfast was also excellent. Too far from the waterfront, town centre/not within easy walking distance of local sights.
We liked the spacious family room. The surroundings were peaceful. Although our room did not have a lagoon view (we knew this) we could still enjoy the views while walking around.
Everything was good quality
the standard of fittings etc and the accommodation in general was of top quality No
The staff were friendly and the hotel was beautiful, the room was lovely comfortable and clean. I would recommend to others and definately stay there again. The food was great too No
the rooms and the staff were superb, would defenitely recommend this hotel to family and friends.
The entire impression of the Hotel was excellent with the inside passages giving one the feel of being on a cruise liner and the rooms with balconies being more like junior suites.Staff made one feel special in all interactions and with the "small touches" like truffles left in the room each night after turn-down service, we were reluctant to leave. Whilst the location is very central / convenient and only a short walk to the Water Front Development, the immediately surrounding area is not great. This will presumably change over time as the area becomes rejuvenated.
The best part of our stay was the manager's decision to upgrade our room without us even mentioning it. They gave us an amazing room with a huge balcony and spectacular view of the waterfront! We loved the modern design of the room - it was one of the nicest hotels we've ever stayed at (and we are frequent international travelers).
The luxury room setting and the atmosphere around the hotel itself The breakfast buffet was not great. I think they need to improve breakfast choice.
The overall impression we got from staying at The Rex was extremely positive. The rooms were very comfortable and had a wonderful feeling about them. The decor, fixtures and fittings are top of the line and so tastefully presented. None
Rooms very modern and spacious with attention to detail. Excellent value for money - will definitely stay there again.
The furnishings and fittings in the room - exotic!
The room and the front desk service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was awful and the waiters clueless.
The rooms were extremely spacious and excellently decorated.
Facing carpark which was noisy at nite
The location. Being right on the waterfront was great. Combine that with the friendly staff at the hotel and cleanliness & comfort of the rooms. It was a great experience.
very good breakfast we were very unhappy with the state of the carpet in the room as it was very dirty also we found dirt on the bathroom floor which stayed there for the 3 days we were in the room. i would not expect that from a hotel chain of your standing
Location of the hotel is the best thing about the hotel, it is ideal for people who visit Knysna for boat trips. Hotel only serves breakfast and not lunch or dinner. Internet service is available only at some hot points and not in your room.
Excellent location, clean, quiet, Need to keep a wheel chair, the passages are long due to the design a it is therefore difficult for persons on crutches to cope
Location was good. Room nice and spacious and good view. Breakfast service was not good.
Perfect situation. The breakfast was sensational The room was a bit cramped
very nice and comfortable as i had a home in south africa . dr jayesh
Absolutely its location. The rooms overlooking the yacht basin and the view 24 hours a day. I spendt the time at the hotel with my 8 year old son. If it was slightly less pricy, I would stay more aften.
Excellent Location. Just across the waterfront with a great view of waterfront. Good Proximity to shopping etc Hotel Staff is very nice and helpful. Lunch etc not available within the hotel but they would order from restaurants around. Rooms are quite small.
I thought the position was nice. There wasn't a lot to do nearby and the hotel lacked atmosphere probably because it was a bit empty The bar should have been attended A bell would have been good to call one of the many staff who were around but not doing much. You should do a deal with dinner included then people may stay in for dinner. Similarly if you put the fire on in the public rooms it would attract the guests for dinner
Friendly and efficient staff large light rooms beautifully maintained gardens Nitpicking but food not quite up to overall standard
Luxury, staff location comfort, staff were efficient & friendly. good training of staff was evident. we were upgraded to a luxury suit Nothing
Service; stunning location; colonial style. Proximity to the main road causing occasional noise intrusion to an otherwise tranquil spot.
Wonderful position, friendly and knowledgeable service, superb bedroom and public rooms - we loved it! Nothing
To put my stay in context, I normally stay in 5 star hotels and have travelled extensively. The stay at this hotel exceeded our expectations, the location is great, the place beautiful. Helen and her mother were perfect hosts and I can’t rate this place high enough. It is thoroughly recommended.
Amanzi was absolutely beautiful and the staff was fantastic. They were so attentive and helped us make plans for restaurants and any activities we wanted to do. I can'r say enough about this bed and breakfast. There was nothing I didn't like about Amanzi.
This is a quality property which exceeded our expectations, for comfort, location and delightful staff who could not do enough for us. Nothing at all.
The room was nice and big, the people were very friendly and helpfull. Service was excellent Nothing
The hotel is very well placed on Leisure Island, a small and quiet part of Knysna. Excellent, friendly staff, very comfortable beds and large rooms. Nothing to dislike
Very Welcoming and friendly staff. Helpful with advice on possible activities. Would definitely recommend it It's a little way out of town, which might be a problem for anyone without a car.
This was the star of our SA trip. Room oustanding. Vie supendous. Breakfast excellent. Service friendly and attentive. Felt very at home and welcome. Too be highly recommended!! How could you fault it?
We stayed in several lovely accommodations in South Africa during our 2.5 week stay but Amanzi was our favourite Everything was perfect and Helen, Sue and Margaret made us feel so welcome. Beautiful accommodation, location and lovely breakfasts.
Great location in leisure Island, very friendly staff and amazing service.
The staff were freindly, we were extremely comfortable and felt welcome.
everthing was was perfect, the rooms and views were excellent and monica couldn't do enough for us,i would recommend it to anyone.
staff were friendly, the view splendid. Could update their TV's to flat screens. We had a very small, old TV in our room. Breakfast was lovely but the same every day.
The view was great, breakfast was very nice and the service was great. We had a nice time at Augusta Bay.
Location, view, friendly great staff, good breakfast, good parking, OK restaurant nearby, just a great guest house. Nothing
We absolutely loved the unique and luxurious room, and the fabulous view of the lagoon from our massive window. Nice touches included the complimentary sherry in the room, topped up every day. Finally our hosts were very friendly with lots of helpful advice on places to visit. We loved it all, and would return!
Bianca and Rossano were fantastic hosts and we felt so at home in their beautiful hotel. We loved our time there. They went out of their way to help us from calling and booking reservations and appointments for us to suggesting restaurants and hotels in our next location. We were there in winter and it was a bit chilly in the rooms, but that was to be expected and we were provided with space heaters and heated blankets, so it wasn't uncomfortable. That's really it. Very minor as everything really was fabulous.
everything. very pleasant and professional
The Afrikana lived up to it's description very accurately. Service was attentive but in no way obtrusive. The owners, Rossano and Bianca have created an exceptionally stylish and comfortable guest environment. Not applicable
We enjoyed the hospitality and the extremely high standards
The hosts Ross and Bianca were fantastic.
The standard of the accomadation was very high and the view from the room overlooking Knysna Heads was incredible. We only wished we could have stayed there longer.
The views were amazing. Staff very friendly. The bath towels were on the small size and no heated floors in bathroom. Rather over priced.
Cleanlyness, friendlyness and it was up market
Lovely B+B with fabulous views of the Heads in Knysna. The hosts are very accommodating and make you feel at home. Very clean. All in all a lovely place to stay. It is like a Boutique Hotel. Sound proofing not too good. Could hear person in the room next to us.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel: beautiful accomodations, including common areas, very hospitable inn-keepers on the premises (we felt like special guests), and superb breakfast included in rate. We enthusiastically recommend this lodging.
We only stayed here for one night, but wish it was longer! Beautiful setting and very comfortable. Owners and staff very helpful and informative. Lovely breakfast too!
Great hospitality from owners and staff, great food, room with underfloor heating, minibar, satilite tv, jacuzzi/Pool and so resonable
The ambiance, location and owner/staff made it a very enjoyable stay
very accommodating, very friendly, helpful staff. great breakfast. very personal service.
Intimacy The bath wasn't big enough:-/
Decor and room comforts
very welcoming and relaxing
Fantastic accomodation! Very kindly welcome! We can recommend this beautiful guesthouse!
The guesthouse is located in the Kynasa Leisure Isle and with only a short one-night stay we took full advantage of the walks along the bay around the Isle. A beautiful and relaxed location. In the morning the eager tourists jumped into the small outside pool. If we had more time we would have definitely indulged into the pool side facilities. I recommend that the guest-house management consider providing information guides in the room listing nearest restaurants and take-away facilities.
Superb setting and very nicely redone guest house. The owner, Paris, was extremely helpful and offered several great suggestions of things to do and places to visit. I would highly recommend this hotel.
What a wonderful and tranquil place. The cottages are ideal for a romantic get away - well equipped and comfortable. The staff were so attentive and friendly, even down to the hotel parrot!!! I wish we could have stayed longer!
The grounds are beautiful and our bungalow was very nice indeed. We both had a 1.5 hour massage, which at 450 rand each was very good value. Definitely recommend. Breakfast served on the lawn outside our bungalow was a treat. Reception closed at night. We felt a little bit isolated because when we were there the rest of the bungalows were mostly empty.
The family atmosphere and the real concern for our comfort and enjoyment during out stay. We had a chance to really relax and everything we needed was offered to us. No - nothing at all.
Place was nice and roomy. Splendid for a family. Practical rather than luxurious - but then I have been spoilt! I also stayed at St. James - which of course is designed for a completely different Market! There were no evening meals.
Stunning, spacious rooms. Great facilities. Good value for money. A little far from town.
We enjoyed the combination of attentive staff with the freedom of having independent lodge accomodation in a peaceful setting. The lodge was efficiently serviced and the facilities were excellent.
