Pros: Location was excellent, house was beautiful and host Reijo was very helpful!
Pros: The house is beautiful and confortable. I can not hardly imagine anything to improve
Pros: Super clean and cosy house. Our family really enjoyed our stay. Kokkola Center was easily accessible by walking.
Pros: Everything was beautiful. Villa Romantica is like a house popped out of a dream: beautifully Scandi decorated and sparkling clean. Reijo the owner made us feel absolutely comfortable and it was a real home away from home. The area is nice and quiet, very picturesque little roads and houses.
Pros: All was perfect the house is fully equipped. Reijo the owner is a very, very nice host and a great person.
Cons: No negative remarks at all
Pros: The property was a house that was beautiful and clean. It has been very well maintained and the owner is extremely friendly.
Cons: There was nothing that I did not like about the property. It was basically perfect!
In the heart of Jakobstad, FirstHome GuestHouse is within the vicinity of Jakobstad Museum and Arctic Museum Nanoq. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Friendly helpful owner, and comfortable well equipped apartment with nice little touches. We especially enjoyed the jacuzzi and the balcony, and having use of the garden (and trampoline) was an added bonus. We had some useful local tips from the owner, and found the location to be quiet but within walking distance of the town centre, supermarkets and parks.
Pros: Nothing, we were gazzumped. We were booked for a 1 night stay. They obviously had a request for a longer booking. We were shunted to the Jugend Home Hotel and Guest Home. We were given a more expensive room than the First Home Guest House. There was no explanation as to why we were shunted.
Cons: The Jugend Home Hotel and Guest Home was quite good adequate room and ensuite bathroom, very friendly and helpful staff, off street parking and walking distance to the centre of town. It was a disappointment to have the booking changed as a lot of research went into choosing accommodation.
Pros: Very friendly and warm welcome. Very nice and comfortable Studio!
Pros: Plenty of room at least when traveling alone. There's room is enough for smaller family. Kitchen with possibility to cook and fringe. Flat screen tv, except from what's seen on the pictures. I didn't use the whirlpool bath but is for sure a comfort when traveling with children. A possibility to electric pole good for those without webasto. Breakfast when ordered is served according to you wishes.
Cons: For me the bed I was sleeping in wasn't so comfortable as it squeak while turning! Also the floor squeak quite much in dining area when went thru to kitchen. I learned to avoid the worst points. Thought you wake up everybody as you walk around. Didn't like that! I missed a table to work on. The dinner table was quite small so it wasn't good for working so I used one living room table. I understand that the work table was left out as otherwise one sofa where you may sleep on also must have been left out.
Pros: The view from the second floor windows. It was quiet. It was convenient for us to prepare our meals. Free parking. The room sides were large and it was very clean.
Cons: The dangerous stairway entrance door into the apt. Next door occupant's personal items in the hallway had a very unpleasant odor but she was very nice to talk to and kept to herself and we heard no noise from that unit. Our concern with the guests' continued use of the shower, water would eventually start seeping behind the soaking tub into the wall and rot out the wall making a costly repair for the owner.
Pros: We did not order breakfast this time.
Cons: The use of air freschener. Not needed, the property was clean. Some may be allergic to frescheners, so we had better not use extra parfumes or sents. Cleaning is enough.
Pros: Really comfy apartment with all extras from a private terrace to sauna and possibility to wash laundry (two latter ones downstairs in the same house).
Housed in an old customs building dating back to the early 20th century, this hotel is within 5 minutes’ walk Pietarsaari’s old town. Guests enjoy free Wi-Fi and free parking. All guest rooms at Hotel Epoque are equipped with a flat-screen cable TV and tea and coffee facilities. Most guest rooms offer views of the surrounding parks, and some include a private sauna. Restaurant Epoque offers international à la carte dishes. Drinks are available in the lounge bar. A buffet breakfast is served every morning. Koulupuisto Botanical Gardens is 100 metres from the hotel. Kanavapuistikko pedestrian street is a 3-minute walk from the hotel.
Pros: Breakfast was very good.
Cons: Room was very small. Could not walk beside the bed.
Cons: Hotel restaurant was closed on a Friday night!
Pros: The hotel could even be a 5 star. The rooms, breakfast and especially the staff were amazing. Keep up the good work!
Cons: The beds could be a bit better.
Pros: Nice interior, clean room and a Bath
Cons: Water taps and a shower were a bit of a struggle
Pros: I think we must have been discretely upgraded because our very reasonably-priced room had an enormous luxurious bathroom with double shower and private sauna! Comfy beds, huge TV with lovely squishy sofa and nice decoration. Very helpful and friendly staff.
Cons: The room was a little too cool at night, particularly the floor. The handle-free push-to-open cupboard doors were a bit tricky.
Pros: I very much appreciated the way a male receptionist fixed rooms for us for 3 days as there had happened a mistake and our order of three nights had not been properly done/confirmed. (I had not filled in the number of persons, if I remember correctly and the confirmation from the hotel had not taken that into consideration when confirming my booking). We had such a pleasant stay during wedding ceremonies.
Cons: At breakfast I missed Finnish owen baked (no yeast) rye bread, lactose free natural yoghurt - a hot pot with porridge (the manner in which served not very appealing in plastic jar). But the atmosphere very nice and friendly personnel. A bonus would have been really good coffee.
Pros: Lunch at the hotel restaurant. The receptionist was very friendly.
Cons: I cannot remember any more.
Pros: very friendly, very good breakfast
Pros: Great location. Very comfortable rooms.
Cons: The greeting on check-in could have been better.
Pros: Nice small quite hotel
Cons: Design bathroom but not very good in use.
Hotel Kokkola is cozy and comfortable hotel located right in the heart of the city of Kokkola. We offer our guests 76 non-smoking, peaceful rooms, all of them among the central air-conditionig system. We are located only a few steps away from the colorful market square, the modern shopping center Chydenia as well as the attractive old part of the city called Neristan and other cultural sights of Kokkola.
Pros: Nice clean hotel, basic room standards with everything you need. Good Scandinavian style breakfast with some Finnish/local specialities. Own parking hall behind locked doors.
Pros: it was good standard
Cons: really nothing to say, quite normal
Pros: Nice service and great location at the heart of the town
Cons: Sunday breakfast didn’t compare to Saturday’s one
Pros: Peaceful, yet centrally located. Neat and tidy. Superfriendly staff. Great breakfast with fresh bread and produce.
Pros: The hotel was flexible with check-in and check-out times. We were able to check in two hours earlier and check out one hour later than check in/out normally was!
Cons: The breakfast would actually have been better than average Finnish hotels if it hadn't been for the huge minus that there weren't enough food. The bacon, the bread, the zucchini-mushroom mix, the salmon, the sausages, the scrambled eggs, the orange juice and the milk were all finished!! Luckily we came quite early and were able to get some of everything before it was finnished. Sadly not all customers were that lucky.. The bread and the milk were refilled but nothing else. And the overnight porridge were bad, it had started to fermentate!!!
Pros: Friendly staff, nice breakfast, quiet and clean
Pros: I think overall it is a good hotel, great location (close to shopping and restaurants), friendly staff, fairly good breakfast. The room was rather large. Tea and coffee available 24h next to the reception. Free parking in the garage.
Cons: I think that room service (cleaning the room, changing towels) could be better (more frequent, I think they skipped our room at least once and towels were never changed even though some of them were put on the floor). Also I would prefer to have soap and shampoo rather than all-in-one bottle liquid something... But these are not really critical issues.
Pros: Spacious room, free parking, excellent location.
Cons: A bit seasoned interior.
Pros: All what you need from basic hotel room. Quite good breakfast.
Pros: Staff and facilities
Cons: Everything was ok

Pros: This hotel was ideally situated for us - 5 minute walk from the bus station. Staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good. The room was a good size.
Pros: Nice sauna and comfortable full kitchen
Pros: We stayed in a hostel room for one night only. We were given a nice twin room with comfy beds. Common bathroom and toilet were very near and also kitchen facilities were available. The city center with nice restaurants was within a short walk, also supermarket was pretty close to the hotel. Breakfast was great.
Pros: The location
Cons: Basic room. With no extras.
Pros: the inhouse Sauna and that I was offered a small breakfast take away bag by Ulrika when checking out for the early morning flight.
Pros: Good breakfast, good location, clean, nice beds.
Cons: Traffic noise from the street, room couldn't be darkened
Pros: Big PRISMA supermarket is not far from. 10 minutes away from city center.
Cons: There was no table in my room, thus was not possible to work on laptop.
Cons: There were building right outside of my window 06:00 in the morning i arrived the room about 04:00 I couldn’t sleep at all. Question is why they gave me that room since they know that there was building and I went to reception in the morning to change the room around 08:30 there was this receptionist didn’t know what to do she looked at the pc screen 3 minutes without saying anything and a little while after she said she have to call her boss to ask something . I just checked out after that answer ! couldn’t handle that weird situation more! Terrible night!

Pros: Great staff, clean room (seems like bathroom recently renovated), good breakfast, parking nearby, good location in the center of the small but nice city.
Cons: A bit on the expensive side
Pros: perfect localization close to centrum
Cons: the quality of coffee - they shoul improve it
Pros: staff is very friendly and helpful the restaurant fantastic and breakfast very good
Cons: the rooms are really basic
Pros: Position of the hotel, in the city center
Cons: Really old structure, and not well maintained. Noisy room, with tiny bathroom. Friday night there was a party somewhere in the structure, and it has been impossible to sleep.
Pros: Very helpful staff and nice central location. Appreciated that breakfast was included
Cons: Restuarant was a little expensive but some cheaper options on the menu also
Pros: The location is quite centre but the price is relative high with normal room and service. The food is quite OK.
Cons: The staff tell me the wrong answer about the train bus and finally I nearly miss my train. Please take care, S for the train bus means Sunday, but no Saturday schedule in the bus time table.
Pros: + Location great. + Very nice old building + Good restaurant for dinner + Breakfast average but sufficient
Cons: - Tasteless fence outside the front. It was because of the city festival. More stylish solution needed!

Cons: Being expensive

Pros: Nice breakfast, as well as possibility to eat at the gas station which was open late.
Pros: Good hotel to stop for the night in a summary.
Cons: We arrived at the 23.00 and there were nobody. Hotel was closed. After call we waited for 20 minutes for stuff.
Pros: Mini croissants and fresh waffles for breakfast
Cons: Room fridge was empty
Pros: We had a great week at the hotel. Thank you very much for everything. The staff was very, very kind and helpful. The food at the restaurant is delicious. Breakfasts are very nice and you can pay and have lunch there too. Lunch is served till 18:00 and is a great option for dinner too. The location of the hotel is very nice. It's very clean. Beds are very comfortable. We had a sauna in our bathroom and used it every night. Such a pleasure!
Cons: Our room was at the corner of the second floor and when we arrived it was a bit cold inside, but we got used to it, plus it was warmer when we were using the sauna
Pros: Very friendly helpful staff
Cons: The location is a bit boring
Cons: It is not worth the value for money, it is actually a motel than a hotel. Simple room with only bed, shower and towel, nothing more nothing less.
Pros: Breakfast was super good. The beds were very comfy.
Pros: Very good breakfast. Good location. Friendly and helpful staffs. The room is clean and roomy.
Cons: Moscitonets were missing Too small fridge
Pros: It is a very cosy, personal, homely place. Like visiting your grandparents.
Cons: I have a weakness for this cosy place but the lack of a private bathroom and lacking shower facilities make it unsuitable for some people.
Pros: I like the homely feel that the place has. It's old but with style. Very friendly owner and great breakfast (she even made smoothies)

Pros: It was an old house. A comfy quiet refuge in center of city. Convenient to have kitchen next to room.
Cons: It was an old house. Could've used some small upgrades/amenities here and there.
Pros: This was a perfect halfway stop when travelling the long haul between Hoek van Holland/England and The ferry to Turku from Stockholm, easy to find, but the owner is very helpful with instructions if there is a problem locating it. Very comfortable, clean with good showering facilities and a substantial optional breakfast to set you up rather than a time consuming search for a coffee etc. A minor misunderstanding was resolved quickly and effectively - altogether an ideal stay for our purposes
Pros: It was near the center of town, and a very good value. The owner was very accommodating.
Cons: I can’t think of anything I didn’t like.
Pros: Good location near centre of the city, yet reasonably quiet. Spacious, clean room.
Cons: The interior throughout needs upgrading. We thought we had booked a room with private bathroom but proved to be with shared bathroom. Could be better indicated on homepages that all (?) rooms are with shared bathroom. Bit pricy considering no breakfast included.
Pros: Travelling back in time, watching the evening sun drift slowly over the tapestry.
Cons: Some things were missing in the room: Black out curtains, waste basket. You might want to know that it will be like visiting your religious aunt, with literature and imagery. The sauna IS free, but only for one hour each evening. The old windows are charming but should maybe come with instructions on how to open them safely. There might or might not be renovation work outside during your stay. The downstairs sauna and shower is fantastic, the second floor shower is in need of repairs/updates. --- The facilities which are mentioned, like tea/coffee maker, fridge etc are not in the rooms, but in a shared kitchen.
Pros: A good nights sleep, nice and quiet. It was nice to have sauna after a walk in the extremely cold weather. Well equipped kitchen.
Cons: Next time I would like to have a room with a proper desk for working, and better lightning. The room was quite cold.

Pros: Nice location for short stay, pizzeria on site. Free parking, good internet connection.
Cons: Not very comfortable bed, room need to be refurbished, however overall acceptable.
Pros: Very quiet and clean
Pros: The Botnia had that true country inn feeling. It's in a small town set along a slow-moving river. Very peaceful! Friendly and welcoming staff who make a person feel at home!
Cons: 20 stairs up to the room might be a problem for people with mobility issues, but that is not unique to this hotel. Just a heads-up.
Pros: The comfortable and cleaness of the room
Cons: Communication was difficult because the owner didn't speak English. Impossible to get Company invoice even afterward via e-mail. Water leak from the bathtub while activating the idromassage
Pros: The hotel was actually closed on Sundays, but we were contacted soon after reservation and we got all details for self check-in! Excellent service!
Pros: Breakfast was alright. Staff was very nice. The hotel is in the middle of the centre.

Pros: Breakfast was quite good and staff were friendly. It was clean enough. It was very quiet. It did its job.
Cons: The hotel is dated and a smelled a little stuffy. Not many TV channels and the internet did not really work.
Pros: Not quite sure how to classify this place - hotel, bar, casino, pub? A bit of everything and in need of a good facelift... Clean and large rooms, nice to be able to get food on the premises, but did have the feeling that the place was a bit on the seedy side...
Pros: Wi-fi, breakfast.
Cons: Cold. Broken doors in bath cabin.
Pros: The hotel was very close to the city center - definitely a plus for walking. The staff went out of their way to accommodate the guests. The "Information" lady was in the lobby - great for getting local information.
Cons: Not being a smoker, more care could have been taken to empty the ashtrays and clean up the butts from the outside seating area near the bar.
Pros: Close to Central parts of city Free parking close to hotel.
Cons: The door for shower cabin was missing. Floor totally wet and needed shoes after shower. Couldn't eat breakfast outside on smoking free area.

Pros: Good value for money and the room was warm. Beds better than some far more expensive hotels.
Cons: Room wasn’t the cleanest, dust and dirt in the corners etc
Cons: Comparing the price and facility provided to other hostels, this one was too expensive for a group of five.
