10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are very good, everything is very clean, nice garden in the guest house, very good services, you can book your tours at the reception of Tebing Guest House. Also the guides who work tot the guesthouse are very good. Because of the weather one booked tour was canceled. They didn't charge this tour. So, a Very good option when you want to go to Taman Negara.
Cons: The only thing I can think of is that the sink was very small.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Firstly, the staff are all fantastic friendly helpful and very easy to chat with. Traveling solo that's a bonus. The room is basic but very comfortable and clean. It doesn't have a TV but l wasn't interested anyway. It has A/C and a fan with a big comfy bed and private bathroom. There is a refrigerator to use at the office area. Very useful...it's hot over there. And there's a balcony too!! A 10 minute walk to the shops area, and do go to the different restaurants there. They're all really tasty, not expensive and good value. Anyway, l totally recommend Tebing Guesthouse on every level. l stayed 5 nights. Enjoy!
Cons: There was nothing l didn't like there at all.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a really nice stay at Hana Guesthouse. The location is a five minute walk from the entrance of the jungle and from a lot of restaurents. The host is very nice and arranges all the activities that you want to do and makes sure you get there. He also arranged a taxi for us to go back to the city. Also no insects in the house ! We really enjoyed our stay Three Belgian girls
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We were guests in Hanas Guest House. The rooms are very well furnished and very clean. Everything was wonderful. Unfortunately I forgot my wallet in the room on departure. After a short phone call, Hanas GH sent me the wallet to the perhentian island per bus and boat!!! Thank you very much for your honesty and kindness. If we come back to taman negara, we will book again with them. Greetings from Austria. Gery and Sandra
10.0 Excellent
Pros: an excellent place, warm welcome, very good advice for the visits, don t hesitate!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: If I could give 100 points to the owner, I would give. He is super friendly, very humble and really does everything so you could have a pleasant stay. The accomodation is 3 minute walk from the jetty, where you can find quite a few restaurants with a huge selection of food (including western type of meals), good prices and superb atmosphere. You can buy mineral water for 2RM at the guesthouse, so you do not have to worry about that either. The owner can arrange you all types of excursions (just decide the night before, as we decided very last minutes and boats were already out). The rooms are basic, but very clean, beds are comfy, shower comes with hot water. You have everything you need for a good base to explore the jungle.
Cons: Nothing
Agosto Taman Negara Hostel - Kuala Tahan - Bedroom
3
8.9 Excellent (288 reviews)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great personal, home feeling
Cons: A bit expensive compare to whats offer and the alternatives
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Friendly place
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Anna was so kind and funny. This place is perfect to meet people and share the experience of the jungle
Cons: Nada
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff was awesome thank to Anne and Siti who take care of me after my bedbugs night. The breakfast is really good. The beds are quite confortable and large. You have locker with a padlock, light, curtain and electricity plug. It's perfectly localized
Cons: Just be prepaid that this is a small backpacker hostel so you won't have a lot of space for you're stuff, showers and toilets are in the same 1 square meter. Some flush are not working really well, the second one is ok. I have to say that I had bed bugs but I was the only one. The staff were really reactive and they managed to clean everything, they also close my bed until the problem is solved. So just be careful at night and say it to reception if you see some. The zircon was to fresh so if you freeze easily just ask before the night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best thing about Agosto is that it feels like family. Anne and Siti will make your stay as comfortable as possible and Anne is a fountain of knowledge on things to do. Breakfast is great (love the all in omelette). The dorm is small but there are lockers, the bunk beds are spacious and have curtains (and I slept so so well there). If you do not mind a bit of a squeeze, I suggest book now. On my next visit to Taman Negara, I'll happily stay here again!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The host is super nice and helpful, location is great (mini market, tourist agencies, jetty, restaurants,... all very close)
Cons: The space in the dorm is very limited, but it was sufficient
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostesses was so friendly and nice. They all knew every guest by name and weee incredibly helpful. The bunks are neat compartments that kept out noise.
Cons: No wifi and no milk for coffee. But minor issues. They made up for it with their hospitality and kindness.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: First off the staff needs complimenting here. They are the friendliest, most helpful bunch I have come across whilst travelling. The hostel is just a dormitory with bunk beds so of course space and privacy is tight. The beds have curtains and there is a changing room so if this doesn’t bother you then I highly recommend booking at Agosto.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Siti was an amazing host and took very good care of all guests, knew everyone by name and helped organizing trips and transportation. The dorm was separated a little bit so it wasn’t too loud and there were showers with hot water. The hostel is just a short walk from the jetty from which you can take the boat to cross the river.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for great food, only a minute away from the river to cross over to the national park. Ann was really caring and helpful when I was sick for two days. Perfect chilled but social atmosphere

Pros: The owners, Marja and Ijak are wonderful! They are kind and very helpful. Marja went out of her way to help us organize our adventures and tours. She is fantastic! The rooms are cleaned every day, coffee and water supplied daily which is nice. The property and views and breathtaking. The food is delicious, especially the dinner. Wow!! The staff is friendly and kind. Very welcoming. We especially loved the driver, Rashidi. He was the first person we met and he picked us up with a smile and was very helpful. He took us and brought us everywhere and this is all included in the hotel price! We highly recommend this place and hope to come back soon!
Cons: That we could not stay longer...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: very nice location, nice garden and friendly cats delicious dinner in the open restaurant
Cons: I would expected more fresh fruit and fresh fruit juice at the breakfast- this place is plenty of local fruit like star fruit, guava, papaya etc. -instead of the artificial juices of supermarket.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view from restaurant over the river bank. Delicious local foods for half boat dinner. The couple who host the guest house are very nice, supportive.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse was located in a quiet spot by the river, a short drive from the main area by the park entrance. The free shuttle service was great! The room was simple but very comfortable. The owners and staff were friendly and helpful with information and arrangements for our stay.
Cons: We chose this guesthouse over the cheaper alternatives because it included dinner. Although dinner was good, it was fairly simple and in our opinion did not make up for the price difference. This is just a minor comment though, we still really enjoyed our stay and recommend this place.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable and welcoming, owner and staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast and Dinner served was tasty and well prepared.
Cons: Would be nice if hairdryer was available in the room
7.0 Good
Pros: Very nicely located at the river with stunning jungle views. Terrace great for a drink and breakfast. All safe even though remote. Quick drive to main busier town towards the park. 2 nights minimum recommended
Cons: Staff not too friendly but supportive on park planning which was nice. Prices for trips by boat into the park quite high.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The garden, the rivier view, the cleaness of the room, the peacefull of the place. All were perfect... It is a relaxing place
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is ca 4 km from the entrance to NP Taman Negara but the hotel is offering transfer service for free so it is not a problem to get there. Staff was nice. Breakfast and dinner okay - you can choose what you want.
Cons: -
8.8 Excellent
Pros: It is certainly the most beatiful accomodation in and near Kuala Tahan. The garden and the buildings are beatiful, the rooms are also newish, tastefully decorated and super comfy. They have rubbers so you can rubber float on the river that adds extra fun to your stay. We were not so impressed by the food as other reviewers but it was absolutely fine.
Cons: The location is indeed quite far away from the village center - it is something you know of course in advance, but be prepared that you will rely on the accomodation's pick-up, drop-off. Dinner time is also fixed. So you won't be able to be as spontaneous as staying in the village.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very pleasant stay. The hosts Marja and her husband are very kind and hospitable and the facilities and rooms are exceptionally clean and tidy. You will also make some feline friends.

Pros: A very quiet location. Delimah and all her family was really gentle and friendly. Home made donuts for breakfast and mangoes from the garden. Good advices before hand, as we could have had lots of advices via WhatsApp

Cons: Everything was good
8.8 Excellent

Pros: As a solo traveler doing some wildlife photography, this place was perfect. The owners are lovely people and easy to chat with about anything. The room is very clean and comfy with no TV but has A/C and a private bathroom. Coffee and tea is always on the go, and breakfast is offered though l didn't get to try it. l was out and about early. Only 5 minute walk to the town center with delicious restaurants everywhere. And lots of shops offering tours and trips and jungle experiences everywhere. Fantastic. So l absolutely recommend Delimah Guest House for your next visit to Kuala Tahan. Thanks Aki and Nadra. l think that's right.

7.5 Good
Pros: The owners was very helpfull and nice She took us to the market near her place twice Pick up and drop off on demand which is very conveniant Quiet place, good A/C Amazing tour to the Asli Village with rose husband, just two of us on his little boat!really good experience with a super guide with a lot of knowledgment, very informative!
Cons: Away from the town Very basic, beds was really hard but spacious room with sink(not sealed) and bathroom with toilet(not sealed) so in 2 nights i have killed 10 cockroaches... Just a little small cover per bed No hot water
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I had a great time at Taman Negara because Rose was a wonderful and caring host, providing transfers to restaurant and the jetty. She recommended Ann restaurant - the vege curry noodle was super delicious! Wanna go for jungle night tour, fish sanctuary, Lata Berkoh cascades, orang asli settlement or the rapids? All can be arranged with Rose for a good price. I felt very welcome and had a nice and memorable stay.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Rose, the owner.
Cons: Location. But rose picked us up and dropped us. So she made our life easier
7.5 Good
Pros: Very simple place, but they are really nice and have very good offer for trekking to Tamar Negara and Orang Asli
6.8 Good
Pros: Although the property is not in the town centre our host drove us there and back whenever we wanted to go. She also organised tours for us at reasonable prices. This meant we did not have to go to the various outlets and negotiate prices etc.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Not a lot. The room was reasonably clean, but the toilet didn't function properly. Rose was charming initially, but after the second day refused to even provide drinking water for us.
Cons: When we arrived Rose was charming. She picked us up from the jetty within a couple of minutes and drove us to her guesthouse (which is necessary as there is no alternative transportation). She immediately started discussing the activities we might be interested in, suggesting a one-day hike. She said gave us the price, which was high but the same as the agencies in the town. We assumed she was acting on their behalf, or that she had her own license to operate, without which she would not be eligible for insurance etc. We informed her that our party included four vegetarians, and that we would need a substantial lunch (lunch being part of the package). On the day, however, we discovered that Rose is NOT a licensed tour operator, and thus does not have insurance. She also failed to provide vegetarian meals, and provided insufficient food. She had RM600 to provide us with food, and failed to do so. It is important to note, that we were able to discover that she had no insurance etc primarily because my partner and I are local, and able to converse in the local language. I politely confronted her about this, and negotiated a partial refund (which still left her with a healthy profit of about RM300, ie two nights' worth of accommodation, for about half an hour's work). Following this incident her manner towards us changed. She no longer picked us up from town in a timely manner, but worst of all refused to provide drinking water to our rooms. Given that Malaysia is a tropical country and that we had four children with us, this was highly negligent. We were not asking for mineral water, but plain boiled water, and she refused to supply it (in contrast to her helpfulness previously).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very kind and helpfull. I would highly recommend!
Cons: Prices of transport compared to companies nearby
7.0 Good
Pros: The owner was really sweet and took you around whenever you asked her. It has a good quality price relation.
Cons: Even though we knew it’s quite far from the center you end up feeling a little bit disconnected from everything. There is no WiFi or restaurant around so you end up feeling a little bit lost and all depending on the owner which is ok but never the less we don’t want to fell this dependent on someone
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Rose was so helpful throughout our stay and helped us organise lots of our tours, as well as picking us up and dropping us off wherever we needed to go. The room was very good value for money and was comfortable.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: clean & comfy bed. about 1.5km far from the downtown but it’s better like me who want not noisy and relax place. most wonderful thing is Rose help us to enjoy taman negara well like activity schedule check including pickup for activities. moreover!! Rose gave us special memories last day^^ short trip but much of memories like my sons playing with cats & every night we talk many things in the yard with eating. Already miss there. of course I’ll visit there someday soon.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Good guesthouse with clean room and nice view over the river (not from the room -at least not from ours- but close-by).
Cons: Booked in advance a room for 3 nights, but then our plans changed (because the Canopy walkway was not accessible anymore) and we booked a 2 days trek with one night in a cave in the jungle. Asked the hotel to cancel one night or at least do a commercial gesture, but they refused.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place has all you need to get into the spirit of Taman Nagara. If you want stay with Nature, please come in.
7.0 Good
Pros: Low cost accomodation but it met our expectations.
Cons: Be aware of lots of insects and bring repellent.
6.3 Good
Pros: The WiFi was good and the bed okay. It was nice to have two chairs and a small table in the room.
Cons: I knew the room only had a fan but the temperature was inhumanly hot, very unhealthy. They should really make sure there is more air circulation or find another way to preserve some cool air. The shower was cold and the only socket was awfully located. Though the staff was nice when emailing, the man at the desk was not very friendly. This guesthouse seemed the furthest from all.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Location ok
Cons: No kettle to boil water
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The style of the property was cosy, original authentic and quiet
Cons: There was no kitchen and the shower was small, just above the toilet
7.5 Good
Pros: Fatehah inn was great. In a great location, little bit out of the main streets so it was nice and quiet! The WiFi was good, warm showers and comfy bed. Nice and clean!
Cons: Not much to dislike!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Hamid was helpful with directions. Although there was only a wall fan, the fan was ok and the bed was not low quality. The supply of bottled water one can buy is convenient.
Cons: Perhaps keyholes can be covered.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mosquito net, small nice balcony and good location.
Cons: In the night was very hot, so we've regret not taking room with AC.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Colourful and clean. Very nice and friendly people, nice room with a balcony and good surrounding area.
Cons: You shouldn't bother waking up before 6 every morning due to a mosque right next to your room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked the family and cats, the room we had was cosy, exactly like on the pictures. Clean, spacious, nice, calm (and close to the restaurants etc..) And also the price indicated was exactly what I payed.
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Our premier room was fine - but slightly basic. Breakfast was included (different each day but scrambled eggs were available every day) and hot water (for tea) always available. If you don’t expect too much, it is fine but not glamorous.
Cons: Could have been cleaner.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was near the market eveything was with in reach, food coffee shop etc
9.3 Excellent
Cons: Very natural
6.8 Good
Pros: The resort staff very helpful
Cons: None
4.3 Okay
Cons: Bed too small
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Free shuttle service on demand to the hot spot river area, where most of the tours start and restaurants are located. Even though the shared bathroom is not fully surrounded by walls (and protected from the wilderness) it was pretty clean. Our budget room contained only a bed, a small nightstand and a good working AC. There is a shared clothes line available outside.
Cons: Only one power socket in the room and no electric kettle. The English of some of the staff was a bit poor and could lead to misunderstandings.

3.3 Mediocre
Pros: Well... To be fair I can say that the positive thing is that we had a roof on our heads.
Cons: We arrived here after walking around 3km from the jetty, to find out an absolute filthy room. Spider webs, small dead bugs and little excrements were everywhere (one day we find some on the bed sheets too, it means some animals were moving on the bed), walls were stained and the bathroom wasn't that clean either. We found it hard to sleep without thinking at what could be underneath the bed (we didn't even want to look at). On a positive note, from what we saw during the 2 days spent at Kuala Tahan, every guesthouse is similar and I guess hygiene conditions are more or less the same. Of course they do what they can with what they have, but some dusting wouldn't hurt.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing I like
Cons: Very poor, dirty, never stay here again
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Fruit garden inclusive...
Cons: Out of centre and no wiev
7.0 Good
Pros: Owner was very friendly and helpful. He was very genuine and kind.
Cons: Room could have been cleaner when we arrived but beds were clean and comfy. Place could do with a little fixing up but for the price I wouldn’t complain.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Has limited open air parking. New wing in construction but not ready yet. Has hot water shower. Not in centre of town but still just a short walk away of about 200m.
Cons: The bathroom facilities were not very clean. No meals, TV or WiFi. No tea/coffee facilities in room. The family room have to access by a set of stairs. After a day of trekking, is quite uncomfortable to go up and down stairs.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Close to Taman Negara entrance. AC is cold
Cons: No Wifi, really basic, the signboards to the property is not clear. Even when called the manager, the directions were utter rubbish. Very limited network coverage.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Room does not match the pictures at all. Location is really bad. If you walk back to your cabin at night, you should really bring a flashlight. Bugs everywhere, and keep coming inside through an open space underneath the door. Sheets dirty. Pillows dirty. Asked for another room, got one, but same story. Owner really tried, but for us it didn't help. We looked for another place to stay, but because everything in the area was full, we had to stay. Won't book this ever again.
