Beautiful, boho chic environment with manicured grounds and a tranquil pool area. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location for exploring Lagos. Restaurant has delicious, nutritious food.

I had the pleasure of staying in a cabana. This made my experience at Casa Mae something out of a movie. Everything is chic without being pretentious. I love how environmentally conscious they are. They focus on non waste, and many things are designed around this concept. Breakfast is ordered off a menu and any waste is fed to chickens that they use for eggs. They grow the produce used in their open air kitchen and meat and eggs come from a nearby farm. Let me tell you, my choice of avocado toast (served on freshly baked sour dough wheat bread) with eggs and Portuguese bacon, with fresh squeezed orange juice and espresso kept me full well into the afternoon/evening; served between 8:00am all the way until noon which is fabulous. One day I had an early departure time because of a day cruise, they had prepared my breakfast and had it packed and ready to go so I could eat when I got a chance. For reasons like this, I have to say the staff is outstanding. Everyone greeted you with a smile and were extremely accommodating and helpful. Now as for the cabana and grounds - amazing. The pool was perfect, the overall hotel aesthetics and design of the rooms and patio, in addition to the bed/linens were impeccable. The location is off the main area, but within a 3 minute walk of the town center. Casa Mae will provide the new standard for any fun in the sun holiday accommodations. Highly recommended if you want affordable luxury with a chic aesthetic. I dream of coming back.

Because they are environmentally aware, they make their own soap and shampoo. This is great, however, my hair did not look fully clean when I used it. The soap was good, and both smelled fantastic. The lighting can be challenging at night, it is a bit dim in the cabana. I really didn't like something Casa Mae has no control over - the amount of babies at the hotel. Portugal doesn't allow for adults only resorts. I want to relax and enjoy an adult stay without a cacophony of babies crying and wailing. People need to be more considerate of where they are and what fellow travelers wish to experience on holiday. This is a chic boutique hotel, not Disney. This was the only downside of the resort honestly.

Really liked the atmosphere at the breakfast area and the relaxed vibe, room incredibly comfortable, big and sunny despite looking at the back! Definitely recommend
