The location! We were half a mile away from the wedding reception. We got free breakfast for the inconvenience.
The suite was not very clean(stains all over carpet); we had to wait for the iron for an hour( we had somewhere to go...WEDDING). The sofa was broken, which pushed the sleep time for my toddler waaaay past the regular time. Very bad experience. Got free breakfast for the inconvenience—not enough on my opinion.
Large corner room with fantastic view of lake. Could walk to everything
The room needed refreshing- carpet & bathroom tile needed replacing.
A fantastic getaway
Beautiful building, lovely view, excellent staff , and pleasant accommodations. If one needs to get away from the hustle and bustle, give yourself this treat. Great places to eat and abundant parking nearby will add to your experience. Simply love it and will make repeat visits often.
Staff was awesome, rooms were nice and clean
Bed slumped to the center and is the only reason I wouldn't return
Do Not Stay At This Hotel
We stay there quiet often because of business. The last three times we have stayed no hot water, and water would not drain while u are taking a cold shower mold in shower , air condition filters dirty in rooms , towels feel like sand paper , not to mention two roaches in my room, tolite would not flush, the room stayed hot and as far as free breakfast what a joke for them to be a high class hotel danish apple or orange that are half way rotten and a cup of coffee no thanks. There is a difference in historic hotel or a run down hotel. My advice would be save your money not worth it. You tell them at the front desk about your problems and all they have to say is SORRY ABOUT YOUR STAY ALL THREE TIMES THE SAME THING . It use to be great that is the only the reason why we kept going back just thinking ahh it might of been just that room . I don’t know if they change hands or new management but it sucks a bunch of young kids running the show at chk in.
The past three times was aweful and it will be the last time I stay and not to mention I have stayed alot there in the past year due to business but you have lost my business and I will blast on Internet about my stay
Birthday weekend
Love this hotel Noisy neighbors made it difficult to sleep at night
Noises at night from nearby room
Past it's prime!
Location near all downtown restaurants. Restaurant in hotel good. Free valet parking. Room good size. Carpet was worn and rippling, room had prime view of parking structure. Freight trains operate all night and pretty loud on north side of building, staff at desk a bit rude. Hotel hardly full and room no great shakes so either they have no better or they aren't smart enough to figure out using best rooms gets repeat business. Had mini frig, safe and coffee maker which was good. Water pressure not great.
Location, food, staff
Shower pressure is horrible. I understand that everyone needs to power save but is better to look into the water leak in room when water is off and give more when on.
Highly Recommended, But know what your getting
Downtown location, Walking distance to almost everything. This is a classic hotel, but built for traveler's from 1915 not 2015. Rooms and elevators are smaller, but still comfortable; think studio apts. Marble and carpet floors, complementary valet parking (please tip!) and a great restaurant (though expensive, dinner for 2 will be $100+). Everything is clean and well kept, staff is friendly and helpful. We loved our stay!! Just know what you are getting. We are typically B&B folks and not partial to the chain named hotels/motels. This has become one of our 'return to' destinations and hotel. Thank you for a great vacation.
Nice, but lacking polish to make it a great hotel
Character and history of the hotel.
Continental breakfast was pastries, apples and coffee only. Rooms were so-so but need renovations. Bathroom fixtures were semi-functional and cheap. Food was overpriced at the hotel's in-house restaurant.
