Cons: Zero
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is beautiful. The staff light little candles everywhere, every evening. There are two swimming pools - it’s all very relaxing. The breakfast is beautifully displayed with every fruit you can think of. The standard of interior decor is very high - it’s extremely tasteful. Each room is totally different and is decorated individually inspired by a location, from everywhere around the world. The staff are amazing and can’t do enough for you. They lend you items for the beach (brilliant & easy to carry beach towels), walking sticks, parasols, lightweight beach chairs and extremely helpful travel guides from the local area. There is also a spa and this has a great pool with all the usual high pressure jets, great for winding down after a long day exploring.
Cons: Just we found the bed a little too hard.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was amazing. Lots of choice and very fresh.
Cons: I missed coffee/tea making facility in the room. I know this is a primarily a british thing but would have been nice to have a cuppa at various points in the day.

Pros: The breakfasts were fabulous. Lots of fresh fruit and a variety of Spanish specialities for example delicious tortilla served in the shade in the beautiful garden.
Cons: Nothing- it was great.

Cons: The only problem with the hotel was the swimming pool area was not ready for use. Such a shame as it let the hotel down. The hotel could easily be a higher star rating will just a little finishing off.

Pros: It was spotlessly clean and the owners were genuinely friendly and helpful. Breakfast was pretty good if not exceptional.
Cons: Checkout was 20 minutes late opening which was a bit hard as we have 25 kilometers to walk that day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely helpful staff, spacious clean room. Exceptional restaurant. The whole stay was a delight.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous place in the middle of one of the most beautiful parts of Spain. 15 mins from San Jose and it's amazing beaches and just 5-10 mins from other smaller coves and beaches. Beautiful rooms all with slightly different layouts, super comfy beds and private terraces. The new pool is a wonderful addition as are the various terraces on the property to get some late evening sun. We came for the food and it did not disappoint. This is more of a restaurant with rooms than a full service hotel, but better for it as there is a very relaxed atmosphere with only a handful of rooms and personal service. It's set just outside the charming village of Rodaquilar which has some great tapas bars. You'll never forget the view coming in or out of the valley!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really good and sufficient just what we wanted made welcome
8.3 Excellent
Pros: very kind and helpful staff. they were really charming. The swimming pool is beautiful and the hotel and location very quiet. Really enjoyable for a weekend getaway
Cons: The matras of the bed was not of good quality. breakfast could be with a bit more choice (e.g. there was no youghurt), although they did provide with fresh and different fruit every morning which was really nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ana and Alfredo made us both feel very welcome and are clearly doing an amazing job of running this hotel. The restaurant is fabulous and the rooms are very clean and comfortable. We will remember our stay at this hotel and hope to return some day!!

Bitacora - Las Negras - Building

9.6 Excellent
Pros: The stunning view from the balcony to Las Negras and the cabos. The appartment is big and very comfortable. Reception couldn't have been more friendly ;-)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place is really beautiful, it's overlooking the town of Las Negras and has lovely views of it from its balconies. We stayed in the 2-bedroom apt, which had a fully equipped kitchen, lovely bathroom and 3 beds. Bitacora also has a shared pool, and it's a 5 minutes drive to town.
Cons: Front desk staff was not the most friendly.
6.0 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok. coffee colder than expected, we could have more coffee if we wanted to
Cons: we could not get back into our room as the door lock had jammed. the lady did talk us through it in english for a work around which meant we had another key. i managed to find some oil in the cupboard in reception and i cleaned the lock, the key and all the bars which were dirty with dust and it worked better. if you are bothered by noise i suggest you get an apartment away from the road as the road into Las Negras is right outside the front door of the hotel. Also the noise from the air heaters in the room are noisy and you hear other peoples ones in their apartments.
10.0 Excellent

Pros: I can´t say enough great things about this place. The location, our room with rooftop terrace, amazing food and great staff. There were so many personal touches from remembering how I liked my coffee at breakfast to making a special vegetarian meal for me at dinner. 10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel far exceeded what we expected in a stay. It was a beautiful property and the staff was excellent. We went in the off season so quality versus value was very high in our favor. Very close to the town, excellent sea view, great breakfast offering. I can’t say more about how fantastic this stay was. I would stay here again for certain and highly recommend anyone staying here. I’ve traveled all over the world on business and have stayed in many hotels and this was one of the best. Thank you El Tio Kiko for a truly memorable stay
7.5 Good
Pros: Great breakfast with salty and sweets options. The swimming pool was very relaxing. The hotel Is at only 5 Min walk from the beach and 10 min from city center of Agua Amarga. The room was clean and spacious and the bed (king side) was very comfortable.
Cons: The staff barely speak english. Most of the staff was not polite enough to manage the customers. The A/C of the room was old and noisy. The sink tap was broken.

Cons: Short stay
1.0 Poor
Pros: Nothing.
Cons: No atmosphere inside or outside the hotel. Extremely expensive for a dated hotel. Like a ghost town in the local village with no restaurants or bars open so therefore no choice but to pay the heavily inflated prices inside the hotel.

Pros: Exceptional stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We like the service people offered, the place is wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tranqil, comfortable, friendly and amazing views.
Cons: Nothing at all.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Lovely property in a pretty little seaside town in the Cabo de Gata National Park. In an elevated position so with a wonderful view of the town, surrounding hills and Mediterranean. Plenty of parking space. Wonderful to sit on your balcony in the evening looking towards the sea. Follow the hotel signs for direction and don't rely on satnav which takes you to the back gate! Javier is the perfect host who speaks excellent English.
Cons: Toilet paper too thin & narrow Carpet not vacuum swept Dinner not served till 20.00

Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available for a surcharge.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff were pleasant. We upgraded during the week to a room with sea view (we had arranged this in advance) and this was well worth the extra we paid. The first room was downstairs and rather gloomy. Breakfast was good. There was a wide selection of simple but tasty food. The hotel is adjacent to the beach and a seven or eight minute walk from the village centre, so well located.
Cons: The hotel has a rather faded feel and has clearly seen better days. The small garden is pretty and originally had local pottery, but newer plants are in plastic. I thought the large plastic dustbin right by the main gate was unfortunate and unneccessary,
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast first class. 2nd time here but externally needs a Winter TLC
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was a good size and had a large balcony overlooking the sea. The breakfast was great the the staff were friendly
Cons: nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful. The whole hotel was immaculate inside and out. Breakfast was plentiful and varied with hot and cold food available.
7.9 Good
Pros: Excellent location, very comfortable bed, spacious room. As a suggestion for our room: if the bed would be turned on the opposite wall the guests could have a sea view from their beds. Also, there is space for a kitchenette corner in the room and that would be amazing.
Cons: It was impossible to connect to the internet. Nobody speaks English., in conclusion we couldn't interact much even if we wanted or beeded to.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very nice rooms with local decoration. Very good breakfast. The SPA is okay at a reduced price. We got the bikes for an hour and had fun going to the gold mine.
Cons: The dinner menu (beverages are not included) is good for the price when booked with the room. For the original 18 Euros we would not have repeated it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous staff, very welcoming and great facilities.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff and the food were both excellent. The room was very clean.
Cons: Corner bath inside the bedroom, no shower except the attachment by the taps, as there was nothing around the bath, the floor and the chair got very wet. Nylon faux velvet type bed cover, iron frame four poster bed which the mattress didn’t fit. Unfortunately could hear everything on the rooms either side. One side we had a dog crying because it had been left alone, the other side was a very lively toddler. It took us ages to find the property which is no where near Cabo del Gata, our sat nav couldn’t find it, three different Spanish people didn’t know where it was and the instructions weren’t good enough. We rang the hotel but were told we should just give our taxi driver their address - not helpful we were driving! We were literally on the point of giving up when we spotted a sign. We spent a good hour searching for this place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location , great staff, good breakfast - and peaceful !!
Cons: all was good - no complaints

4.2 Okay
Pros: I liked the location and the setting. Beautiful views and in the heart of Cabo de Gata. The village was walking distance from the property and the room was light and spacious for one person
Cons: Unfortunately storms hit the area two days before the end of the holiday and although Rodalquilar was not badly affected, electricity was on and off in my room for the last two day of the holiday and the water filtered through into the bathroom forming a paddle on the floor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting within desert gardens receding into the volcanic landscape of the natural park with interesting plants, vistas and scents all around. Pros: The little village of Rodalquilar is wonderfully quaint, and the guesthouse is located just outside it. The views are beautiful, it's quiet and peaceful, the swimming pool awesome. The rooms were simple but comfortable.
Cons: There are a lot of flies in the area, and since breakfast is only served outside (the owner does not allow for guests to take breakfast in their rooms), it's always disturbed by dozens and dozens of flies!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: peaceful, fantastic location beautiful terrace and excellent breakfast charming little houses for the rooms very long pool, perfect to swim
Cons: wc broken little refreshment needed but this is also what makes the place charming

The nearest airport is Almeria Airport, 56 km from the accommodation.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It’s a nice house but cheaply fitted out.
Cons: We felt tricked in to the fact we had to share a toilet & also the person who came to make the breakfast every morning would do it loudly so it would wake us & the other guests up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location, pool and house itself was lovely.
Cons: Sharing with unknown couples, particularly the kitchen and breakfast table slightly awkward.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The lady managing the property was always smiley and friendly and despite our linguistic barrier , our stay proved lovely. We loved the breakfast available in the property every morning! The washing machine and dryer came in especially handy having backpacked for 10 days when we arrived in Agua Amarga. Everything in the property is brand new and the place is spotless, which makes for the most comfortable stay.
Cons: Not so much relevant to the property but ... In order to get to the village Agua Amarga, we had to take a bus which only travels from Almeria 3 times a day and times vary for Saturdays and Sundays. Same to return to Almeria train station, there is only one bus on a Saturday morning 7.30, which meant that we had to wait many hours until our flight. Transportation from and to the village may prove challenging since you have to rent a car(also expesive 200€ at the time for 3 days) in advance in order to move from one village/ beach to the other. The only Atm/cash machine available is at Carboneras, the nearby village, of which we were not aware. Nevertheless, you can pay almost everywhere with card and the village provides for great food and a nice beach where mostly native tourists are found. The aforementioned are information that would be useful for non-Spanish travellers who haven't been able to find them online on their research when planning their stay (I.e we had to ask for buses routes and times at the station as we couldn't find anything online)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous house; beautiful design. Very comfortable, clean and peaceful. Lovely view. I'd love to stay again!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: It was my second stay here, and again I enjoyed the location (even though the road on the last 1 km to get there is a rough road...) in between the mountains and the sea. The staff was very nice, asked us what we wished to do and see and gave us nice recommendations. The restaurant recommendations were especially good. For breakfast I recommend to just order what you want (they make fresh tostadas for you and coffee in every variation), because it seems like a better value than the buffet. The outdoor area and the pool are very nice.
Cons: The condition of the rough road was not so good after the heavy rain.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great location is you want to be quiet.
Cons: Breakfast does not have much options.
7.1 Good
Pros: The location, Rooms, facilities...
Cons: Breakfast very very poor. There is not ambience and the team working there are not engaging at all. No bar service in the swimming pool, no cocktails or bar at night to drink something after dinner. The team working there could have been nicer and willing to help.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location was strong and frankly it was available at a time that very little else was.
Cons: The lack of hospitality was constantly evident. We like to be feel welcome where we stay and here we did not - for the price we paid we expected a higher standard
5.0 Okay
Pros: The hotel is in a great location in an unspoiled part of the Andalusian Coast. The Coast is in close proximity to San Jose which has a good beach plus restaurants. The manager and his staff were personable and very helpful.
Cons: I thought that the property did not appear to be well maintained. The bathroom had mould growing in the bath/shower area. It needs attention in many areas and is not really worth the tariff at the present time.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location and the view down the hillside to the sea and Los Escullos
Cons: Breakfasts are adequate but dinners not good and poor value for money
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The isolation was beautiful, the amenities were exactly what we needed and a lovely 10 minute walk to the beach. The staff were absolutely lovely and very helpful.

Cons: The wifi is not good. The curtain wasnt clean. They are rooms whith the door to the other room. The hotel of spa but there are no bathrobe and slips. There are no vegetables in breakfast. There was my boyfriend's birthday and I asked for a mini surprise this day and they did nothing (the reception of the second hotel noticed that the birthday was 1 day ago and wish happy birthday). The beach is not good (rocks, trash) and the pool is small.
