8.0 Excellent
Pros: It's a really beautiful property. It's very well kept and the gardens invite to walk around and explore.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous old priory, beautifully kept gardens. I emailed the day before to request dining at the priory rather than driving out. Hard work trying to speak French as the owner was keen to speak English, but we both kept at it! Rapid reply, great meal, good value, amazing surroundings, good company to chat with. May not be to the taste of those who do not like quiet and old things!

Pros: We had a wonderful stay here in beautiful rural surroundings. This lovely old Chateau had lovely lawns and huge garden. The history of the place was fascinating with its cider press and chapel etc. We thoroughly enjoyed the four course dinner. The hosts were very friendly and work very hard to provide excellent service and surroundings for guests to relax and enjoy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful gardens to wander through set around a reformed priory. The room itself was large and had a very comfortable 14th century bed and modern bathroom. We had a lovely 4 course dinner and delicious breakfast in the old ciderpress. The priory is a short drive from Camembert and Vimoutiers. Jean-Pierre was an attentive and very welcoming host!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Beautiful location; very friendly welcome
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a great stay at the priory. The location is off the beaten track, but only a short drive from Camembert village, situated in a wonderful landscape. The priory is remarkable with its ancient history, its wonderful gardens and well renovated rooms. The hosts are great and we can recommend the 25 Euro 4-course dinner — there will be a bit of a drive to find a restaurant. The hotel is a bit of a sight in itself, worthy of a detour. This is probably the first time I give a hotel a 10/10 score.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Priory was magical and exceeded expectations. The buildings were beautifully restored, exquisitely refurbished and the gardens inspirational - all contributing to a very tranquil and special ambience. Our hosts, Jean-Pierre and his family, were absolutely delightful and gracious
Cons: Everything was perfect

Pros: The food in the restaurant was very good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: In the middle of nowhere with beautiful views. Thank goodness it had a restaurant! Near Camembert with a great museum and little visitors centre.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was quirky, clean, comfortable, welcoming, and really good value for money. The proprietors, totally contrary to some reviews I have read, proved to be a real delight from the outset. Friendly and obliging. Beautiful views of calm, rolling countryside and and a superb, if somewhat small, a la carte restaurant menu. We all had steak which was nothing short of incredible. Without a doubt this will be a repeat stopover for us and well worth the 10 miles or so of the main route. Thoroughly recommended.
Cons: Would just have benefited from basic drinks making facilities in the room but it was lovely that the owners were on hand to make us a coffee upon arrival.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was so lovely that I can’t find the words to describe it! The rooms are beautifully decorated, the views are astonishing - you see the stars when falling asleep and the first thing you wake up to is the view on the horse on the field ! Breakfast -WOW! we sat down in a traditional dining room with a chimney and the owner served us fresh local produce. We were beyond amazed and recommend this place to anyone! Super romantic!!!
7.0 Good
Pros: Every log cabin has one room only so the appearance of the cabin looked cool.
Cons: The room looked worst than photos. We think it's not hotel standard although it's called "HOTEL". The staff speak very little English so not convenient. No kettle and glasses in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Basic accommodation but was expected for the price with everything we needed. Good shower but had to hold it.
Cons: Luckily the weather had changed as the room would have been very hot as there is no window.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Evening meal delicious and good choices for children
Cons: Stopped serving meals at 20.30 but not very clear on website so hadnt booked-arrived just in time otherwise would have struggled as nothing for miles!

4.5 Okay
Pros: (silence) - the bed linen was clean.
Cons: Just about everything! No toiletries - tired / hard towels - the bath was filthy (sticky) and the plumbing leaked (constant drip from failed valve) - the "flat screen tv" was the smallest I have ever seen. The place is long overdue for renovation / modernisation - shared toilet cupboards on a cold landing - this is a throwback to the 1960s (or beyond).
5.5 Okay
Pros: location & staff
Cons: No heating in large bathroom. Still using sheets & dirty old bankets. Pillows were just big hard lumps. Everything very tired & needed a spruce up. No spare electric sockets. Pipes going up in corner of room were rattling all night. No where to hang shower dead so you could have a shower, had to hold.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very good value for accommodation. On site food poor
Cons: The restaurant attached to the hotel was poor for the price. The breakfast was minimal
7.0 Good
Pros: A pleasant somewhat old fashioned hotel, with a good restaurant and town centre location. Good value for money.
Cons: My room wasn't en suite - I was aware of this when booking, but it was quite a long walk to the bathroom
7.0 Good
Pros: Useful overnight stop in the area.
Cons: Rooms somewhat tired. Towels definitely in need of refurbishing - take your own!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff friendly and helpful, though busy.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, friendly staff.
Cons: Personally, i was happy about everything but I wouldn't recommend this place to people who want everything modern. It's a traditional french hotel with sink and bidet in rooms. A real experience but nothing up to date
5.8 Okay
Cons: We paid for breakfast and were told there would be no one there but the bread and rolls would be left on the table for us to help ourselves and the coffee machine switch on. The coffee machine was switch on but there were no rolls or bread and the milk in the fridge had gone off. We were not very happy.
6.8 Good
Pros: Having arrived to find no way in and desperate for the toilet it was a bad start. The property is situated in the middle of a typical French village. The owner arrived and let's us in. To be fair she had just slipped out to pick something up. Having booked in and paid we found out that we had a shared bathroom. We had already had dialogue with Isolbel about the room on the first floor but with my wife being partially disabled we accepted as it was for one nigh. Everything creaked in this very old property and the facilities were very old and outdated. But to be fair there would be many people paying for this type of property to experience French living a century ago. The restaurant was excellent on all fronts from service, explanations in English of the food on offer, the excellent quality of the food and the price. To sum up: it was an interesting night with a very warm room, creaky furniture, noises we never found what they were and for one night at the price it was acceptable.
Cons: Very old property.
