close to city and airport. rooms equipped with own kitchen . inexpensive food and drink at bar. the hotel staff was negligent to the point of liable. We were given a list of stops for the shuttle- butno map, though maps were available and offered on an apparently selective basis. We needed an early taxi for our flight and they promised to order it for us. and then didn't do so. A major oversight that could have jeopardized our flight!
The fact that we could use the pool after a hard day of work and that's isolated from the center confusion although it's just 10m away. The room furniture, mainly beds...
Very friendly and helpfull staff. No problems with parking. Quiet location. The free busses from the hotel to A Coruña were very handy. Beds were very unconfortable. Location is a bit far from the city and not very easy to find.
the ambiance was very relaxing
The warm welcome I received It is quite a long way out of the centre but then it is very close to the airport.
The location of this hotel is very close to the airport.
The hotel has a good location overlooking the Ria. It is very close to the airport, but it not disrupted by airport movements. It offers good safe and secure parking and the centre of A Coruna is a few minutes drive, and easily reached by local buses.
Staff was exceptionally nice and helpful at the desk and in the restaurant. Would recommend it to everyone. no
The staff were helpful polite and very accommodating.Bags were taken to the room and mini bottle of bubbly on our arrival for my birthday. The location was perfect in the centre of town. Rooms were spacious and clean.
A very clean and tidy hotel that is kept to a high standard. The town is small and charming, perfect for a half day visit. The breakfast was extremely sparce. We were given square white bread from an industrial bakery that tasted like cardboard. Surely fresh pastry or bread from the local bakery would not have been too difficult to offer clients?
Hotel Garelos saved our day. We were booked in at a 4*Hotel in Santiago del Compostella, and owing to road repairs could not access our chosen hotel at all. Thanks to Booking.com they manage to get us a last minute booking at a small hotel in Batanzos, only about 40 minutes in the direction in which we were going. It was only 2 star, but it was clean, comfortable, and friendly, though very little English spoken. This hotel was The Garelos, which also had air-conditioning. Obviously, only being 2* star, we couldn't have an evening meal and Batanzos itself, had very few restaurants available serving food, but hundreds of cafe/bars, only serving coffee and drinks! In answer to the two questions below I would recommend the hotel for anyone in the area needing a base and the second question is not applicable.
A very nice place, with a vey polite staff. very relaxing
A great surprise for backpackers. The settting is wonderful with streams, trees and history off the tourist trail. The owners are most friendly and helpful. They explained the history of the mill and every piece of tools in the house. not easy to find without car
The hotel is great value and worth staying a few days. On arrival we were lucky to get a tour of the historic mill followed by a local beverage. Dinner is offered in very pleasant surroundings and is good value. The rooms are comfortable and very quiet at night. We really enjoyed our stay. Nothing - it was great.
Friendly owners, great location by a river.
Personal attention by the owners, excellent service, i.e airport pick-up, good food, friendly atmosphere, interesting historic building.
Young, friendly managers/operators; very comfortable, well restored and decorated rustic mill hotel (more like maison d'hotes); nice breakfast with great homemade jams; our plane-delayed late arrival (23.00H) didn't bother them. Really a bit in the middle of nowhere and not easy to find, especially at night (directions on Booking site, and road signposts, should be improved). Although the end result was fine for our purpose (convenient for overnight stay on late arrival from airport), we were initially surprised by the very rural "ambiance". Could the Booking.com description be improved?
friendly staff who were helpful and spoke some English; clean, well-designed rooms; modern luxury feel the restaurant only caters for top of the range: expensive wine, lobster and crab menu; there should be a menu that allows for Camino travellers, who are not looking for cordon bleu, but simple Spanish food
The size of the room Restaurant usually not open. To go to both restaurant and cafeteria one have to go outdoors for approx. 100 m and this is a problem when it is raining. 2 times during the stay there was no hot water in the morning.
We had a large bedroom with very effective air conditioning which was very welcome. The receptionist was friendly, helpful and spoke excellent English. A long walk from either bus or train stations, but there are few hotels in the town. The hotel was located in the newer part of town that was a short walk from the old town we wanted to visit.
Rooms were cold oct 16th
Helpful courteous staff. Clean and tidy hotel and rooms.
