Room was great and booking.com got us a great price. Dinner was good as was breakfast. If you are looking for being in the middle of the action, this isn't the place. It is a walk to the city, but for us it was perfect.
We liked the authenticity of the Castle. The staff made us feel special. They were well educated on the food, wine, history of the area. Also very accommodating when it came to luggage needs. There was no language barrier, as all staff spoke english. I highly recommend this site as a "special" place to stay no
Beautiful facility and friendly staff. If the restaurant had more choices of food, that would be better.
Our room (separate cottage) was fabulous. At first I was a little disappointed that we were not in one of the inside rooms of the castle but I quickly got over it realizing how wonderful our little cottage was. Great sitting room with our own library and a huge, luxurious, beautifully tiled bathtub, all very private with great views from most of the windows. Lovely! Some of the staff could have been a little more helpful (and friendly). Also, the restaurant closed up just a little too early, another 1/2 hour (to 9:30) would have been helpful.
excellent food and ambience no drawers in the rooms we had (2) to enable us to empty cases! Rather odd esp as one room was large
Very friendly staff and always ready to assist. Porter service to get luggage from parking to the castle is great as the person brought the bags to our rooms (tower rooms). Staff checked us in at 12(noon) and very accomodating with an infant. Two people in our group were vegetarian and dinner main course option was not to their taste but the hotel tried to accomodate the special meal request.
Comfortable bed, complete privacy, excellent breakfast. Splendid views of Rhine.
The Waitresses dressed in tradirtional German attire and their engaging presence, was a nice touch. The smell of fresh baked goods wafting up to our 3rd floor room when i opened the balcony door was delightfull. No elevator on our wing.
The view. The food. The service. All of the welcoming touches. None
What a wonderful hotel! Great view, romantantic room, perfect service. It's expensive, but definately worth it.
The location of the facility and the rooms really were very nice. Since we were there during the end of the tourist season, the resturant was not open at convenient times. It was closed for dinner both evenings of our stay.
We found the Hotel to be utterly charming and enjoyable. It is conveniently located (although the town is so small the hotel could have been located just about anywhere.). Our room was a very cheerful yellow. Very comfortable and clean. There are a lot of stairs in this building. People with difficulty climbing or limited mobility would have a hard time here.
Charming as to a genuine German hotel, clean, great value, excellent location in beautiful Bacharach. We would return again and again!
All of the above listed items. Also, our room was a suite/apartment instead of the expected 1 room (double bed/cot). The staff was extremely helpful & pleasant and the town of Bacharach was enchanting!
the location is good. 10 mins walk from the train station. It's also near the pier and tourist center. We can easily arrive the tourist attractions. The bathroom is too small.
Size of room & bathroom, cleanliness, great location in town. Quality of breakfast.
In my opinion, this hotel was in the best location in town. Our view was of the oldest building in the town. Bacharach is a very nice little town.
location and hospitality of the young owners. These days, in-room internet wi-fi is expected. At Am Markt, it not only was not free of charge, the charge of 8 Euros per hour is exorbitant. For this reason I would not recommend this hotel to others unless they had no need for internet access.
Centro location in town and the room was very comfortable
Wonderful hotel in a beautiful Rhein village. Overlooking the market square but not noisy at night, as the village is small and very quiet, and the hotel is not near the train line. Ask for Room 2 which has a lovely balcony overlooking the market square. A much nicer overnight stop than the tourist traps of nearby Bingen or Rudesheim.
Room was large and well lit. It was within walking distance to the train but was far enough away that there was no train noise.
the price was right, good location (right in the center of Bacharach). Very friendly staff hotel could use an update/renovation of faciltities
staff/ food service/ and drinks/ all suplied in such a friendly way. overall an excellent hotel
Very pleasant, clean, friendly old style German hotel in a nice quiet location in Bacharach. We would stay there again.
Yoghurt at breakfast was ok Room ans corridor lighting, Bathroom size and cleanness. Way to expensive. No covverange webside info and reality...
Nothing. Noisy,uncomfortable bathroom, expensive.
Good location in town and the included breakfast was excellent Staff initially stated that they couldn't take a credit card as the "machine wasn't working"; it miraculously fixed itself when we insisted on using the card.
Very clean, good breakfast Room was very small and view was of a roof and other hotel rooms across the roof. Although the online info said there was parking available, it was actually 4-5 blocks away in a public 3 Euro per day lot.
The location was quite good, being in the centre of this town's shopping and restaurant area. There were only two minor problems: The first was the absence of parking spaces in the immediate area of the hotel; and the second was that our particular rooms overlooked one of the the main streets, where traffic noises late at night and early in the morning definitely disturbed our sleep.
Friendly, helpful owners.
What a GREAT little hotel!!! Bacharach is a sweet small Rhine town to begin with... and this little 26 room place, which dates back to 1726, as I recall, typifies the "small town" atmosphere... for a VERY attractive price. For starters, the new owners, Michael and Christina are wonderful warm people. The rooms are very well cared for, breakfast is just 6 euros, the bar/restaurant has simple food and a warm inviting atmosphere. It's a 2 minute walk to the center of town (1 minute more and you're at the Rhine) and just a 2 minute walk out the town gate, where parking is free. The short walk to the castle starts, literally, across the street. From our room, i could hit the main church, an interesting 10th century ruin and the town gate with a rock, it's so cute and small. If you're looking for a great little hotel in a great little town, away from most tourists, this is the place!! Ed and Terri from Reno Though it didn't bother us - we simply opened windows, like so many old, charming places, it is not air conditioned
Nice small hotel/restaurant in the vinyards near small village.
Staff helpful. Food excellent both evening and buffet breakfast. Very quiet location up a side valley, although near Rhine and its villages for visiting. Would easily stay again.
Everything. Beautifull and quiet location, frendly staff, excellent food.
Very pleasant environment. Accomodating staff. Comfortable. Good value for the price.
The location is not difficult to find. The room is cosy and clean. The double bed is comfortable and toilet is clean. One heater in the room and one in the toilet. The breakfast is very nice and of high standard. Good internet connection and parking facilities. It's an enjoyable stay and I highly recommend this hotel. The room is a bit small but I think it's okay for me.
Diner was very good - including nice collection of local wines. Staff was very helpful in recommending hiking trips.
We highly recommend this hotel The surroundings were ideal, the staff was excellent as well as the food and our rooms. We loved the little bier garten outside! We were also given a personal tour of the incredible wine cellar and offered samples. I really can't say enough about this place and the people!
people were extremely friendly
Good food, room was clean and big, friendly staff. Nothing notable.
Comfortable rooms in a lovely family run hotel. Great dinner in the restaurant followed by wine tasting in the cellar after dinner. We have just spent a fortnight driving around Europe and our night at his hotel was one of the highlights.
The breakfast and the staff The decor is a bit outdated..... But very clean
We were given a warm welcome and shown to a lovely large room which was very clean. The hotel is a lovely mix of old and new. The Bedroom we had was fresh and modern, while the dining room was more in line with a old traditional Farm House. The evening meal was excellent but the breakfast was exceptional. Huge variety of friut cakes savories both hot and cold. We cannot fault this guest house. full marks
We loved absolutely everything about our stay at Gasthaus Weingut Stahl. The location is wonderful - away from all the train noises in the villages along the Rhine. Our rooms were fantastic, and were spotlessly clean. The bathrooms were modern and well equipped. Breakfast was simply amazing, and Krista, our hostess, kept forcing us to try her home-made cakes (for breakfast!!). We ate dinner out on the deck both nights and thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Paul serves his brother's wines, and encouraged us to head down to the cellar for tastings. We could not fault this hotel, and would heartily recommend it. It would be best to have a car if you are staying there however. Nothing
Our 2nd visit to this gasthaus. Every bit as nice as our first visit. Our dinner was exceptional at the restaurant and the owner and staff are always mindful of guests needs. Highly recommend.
Fantastic! Beautiful, clean and spacious room. Delicious food and very good wine. Warm and friendly staff. Everything you need to have a 100% satisfactory stay. This is a hotel to recommend and to go back to!
Fairly quiet room, very good breakfast and staff very friendly A funny odour in the room. Perhaps it was an ex-smoking room
Excellent service quality and marvellous food!
very peacefull, breakfast was very good, no rooms for smoking, tv in the room could have been bigger was like a postage stamp,
Very nice and clean hotel, polite and helpful staff, in a nice little village with great vineyards. Close to the Rhine, Koblenz, Mainz. Great experience! none
This hotel was very clean. Our room was a suite on the top floor it had a beautiful bed and fun star lights in the ceiling. The view from our room was good. The hotel staff was very helpful. There was a lot of good food in our included breakfast. We were also pleased that the staff could speak English. We would highly recommend this hotel to friends.
good service and friendlly staff at the time the weather was very hot and there was no air con or fans available
Room was clean but smelled a little. Breakfast was skimpy and bread baskets dirty. Staff took no interest in guests.
probably the best value hotel i have ever stayed in. room, views, food and staff were superb. at only 22 euros per person this hotel cannot be beaten for value for money. we had a meal for two and bottle of wine for less than 25 euros. hotel has stunning views and only about a mile from historic town on the rhine.
This was one of the cleanest Pensions we've ever stayed at. Wonderful shower! Family owned staff was terrific. Food in restaurant was delicious and at a reasonable price. Large room overlooking scenic countryside. Nice breakfast included. We liked EVERYTHING!
1.6 km walk to village is by uphill unlit road. Walking path rough and muddy in place - longer walk.
Excellent and good valve for money dinner(menu), Fair breakfast (no buffet), large parking place. Large room. Have to bring your own hair dryer, soap and shampoo. Need a car to get to the hotel.
We got three night stay, with breakfast and dinner. The host was very kind and Good entertainment. The home-brew wine was so delicious that we brought back two bottles of wine to Japan. The wireless LAN had no trouble for connecting to the internet & using IP telephone(SKYPE). The location is near Loreley etc. We enjoyed good sightseeing along the Rhine river by car. We recommend the people with a car.
The hotel was in a superb location, on the top of a hill overlooking Oberwesel, with its own vineyard. We were served with dinner on Friday evening & at the conclusion of the main course waited to be asked about dessert/coffee. After 25 minutes having tried to get service we gave up & left. Spoke to the owner on Saturday morning but the reply was unsatisfactory.
the whole experience was very enjoyable no
Der Hotel Rheingoldschänke ist sehr gut. This was a lovely hotel/guesthouse. It was a bit out in the country but great if you have a car with you. The views are very pleasant - across the wine growing region (vines on every hillside.) We arrived quite late but owner Michael Schneider was there to greet us and show us too our room. Breakfast was very nice; the traditional German style of meats and fresh bread. This was all inclusive for what I thought was a very good price. Evening meal there was excellent and wines were local, nice and resonably priced. I bought 3 bottles back. There is free wi-fi and a PC for those without a laptop. Nicely decorated and comfortable rooms. I would definately stay here again if I am back in the Rhine region
Really lovely. The family are so friendly and kind. We only stayed one night, and everything was lovely. Very very pleased we picked this Gasthaus to stay in in Bacharach. The gasthaus has wonderful character and the rooms are super clean.
Cost, Friendliness and helpfulness of owner
Rolf, the owner, receptionist & chef was great. He welcomed to his hotel and prepared a great dinner for us. It was a wonderful, short stay.Parking right outside, and Rolf included a super breakfast in the very reasonable price. everything was fine.
Staff could not have been more helpful Bit far of main highway for a transit stop
Really nice place to stay, huge double rooms with comfy clean beds. Family run hotel, really good breakfast. A little bit out of town but a nice walk. Best for people happy to stay in a quiet place, wouldn't be good for room parties as sound travels through the walls
