AC Hotel by Marriott Málaga Palacio

Breakfast was good but the choice was limited. The room was very good. The roof top restaraunt was not really suited to the winter.

The lifts were totally inadequate. One time we waited 15 minutes to go up and another 10 to come down.

Fantastic location. Centrally situated.

Water pressure very low on top floors. Quality of soaps and lotions provided could be improved. "Sound-proofing" rooms needs a lot of work.

Location was excellent, as was the room with balcony that had a view to the port. Staff was nice, housekeeping was great, it was very clean. Breakfast was super, all you could want, coffee was very good. Room service was efficient and quite reasonably priced, as was the lobby bar. Bathroom was spacious with very nice amenities. Bed was super comfy. And I loved the Xmas presents left for us in the room.

I would have given the hotel full points if they had had the AC on cooling but as it was winter they only had it on heating. With the +22 sunshiny days the room was hot! We were told to switch off the AC which we did, this meant there was no heating but also no ventilation. We were offered a fan but I don't see the point of moving hot and stuffy air back and forth. It was warmer than usually this time of year, we did understand that but why not switch the AC to cooling? Don't understand that at all. We tried sleeping with the balcony door open, it was cooler which helped but the cruisers and carriers in the port had their engines on all night and they were really loud (could hear them even with the door closed and curtains drawn). So we had five badly slept nights in an otherwise nice hotel that needs a bit renovation but nothing major. Will we return? No.
