9.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff throughout my stay. Comfortable stay with a good en-suite bathroom with a bathtub. Excellent choice on breakfast menu and good quality food for breakfast. Hotel is in a good position, with plenty of parking.
Cons: There were only plastic drinking glasses in the room - proper 'glass' glasses would have been better. No face flannels were provided. There did not appear to be any heating in the bathroom. The dinner menu was little restricted for choice, and there were no decent wines available in half bottles or by the glass (only cheaper wines in 187ml bottles). Had there been two people staying in my room, there was only one comfortable chair available.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very homely x
Cons: Didn't have a TV in room as on business like to chill watching a bit of TV after a long days work
7.9 Good
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Our room was very comfortable. On arrival we were treated to tea and biscuits.
Cons: Better signing from the road would have been helpful. We arrived after dark and location was difficult to find easily.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hostess was amazingly hospitable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Central location to the hills. Spacious bedroom, nice to have a double bed to myself and my friend had the other. Coffee shop on site and loads of nice art work to look at.
Cons: We didn’t have a TV, en-suite small but we weren’t bothered.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast was nice. The owners are really friendly.
Cons: The room had two beds, only one was made up when we arrived and they seemed a bit put out at having to make up the second one even though the room was booked as a twin. In hindsight it might have been because the second bed was so uncomfortable my mum couldn't use it. The cleanliness was ok, but very dirty behind the bed when you plug in a charger.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good!
Cons: Everything met our expectations.
7.9 Good
Pros: Room size in double room
Cons: Adult daughters single room very cramped and very noisy
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent suite with bedroom, separate bathroom and comfortable lounge area. Breakfast cooked just how I like it with friendly informative member of staff at precisely the time I asked for it.
Cons: The choice of main courses and sweets at the evening meal had much to be desired. There was only 7 choices for main course of which 2 were not available and no steak on the menu. As an hotel charging £171 per night, I felt disappointed. I admit it was down season but I had to make do with a burger and chips. Only three sweets were available.
7.9 Good
Pros: Good menu. Helpful staff.
Cons: On far side of the island from Stornoway
5.0 Okay
Pros: The people were friendly
Cons: The price
6.3 Good
Pros: Not too bad

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location. Amazing home, yes this was more than just a room, it was a home away from home. I hesitate to call John our host cause I feel like we made a new friend. He was so welcoming and generous. He was a wealth of knowledge and so patient with all our questions. The best place we stayed in 14 days!!
Cons: That we couldn't stay longer!!
7.9 Good
Pros: The view and the quietness could not be faulted. The breakfast which you prepared yourself. A range of cereals and breads/marmalade etc were available.
Cons: We shared a very small bathroom Eating out meant a car journey. It was safest to telephone book Best not to assume that the ferry will be available
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location was rugged and nice with great views out to sea and next to a river. Set in small quaint village typical of the island. Slightly remote with no pub or shops in the town with the nearest around 10 miles away. Friendly welcome when we arrived.
Cons: The bedroom we were allocated was the owners own, so more like a Airbnb, The room wasn't very clean and there is no tea of coffee facility in the room. What was concerning that to access the bedroom was up a set of spiral stairs, part of the bedroom had glass panels looking onto the stairs, so it was easy to look into the bedroom from outside the room, so this didn't bode well for privacy. The worst was to come, during the night there were loud and strange unsettling noises coming from the living area below, these caused both of us to stay awake for most of the night. it sounded like someone was very upset. When we left in the morning there was no one was available to ask or complain about this or organise breakfast as we were told the night before it was cereal and yogurt. Breakfast consisted of about 6 opened packets of stale cereal, some fruit and yogurt so we left it. .We did try to contact the venue about the poor unsettling sleep because of the noises via emails but he have not received any reply.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Warm welcome from John. Made to feel like youre at home and allowed to use all the facilities. Comfortable and relaxed home, and dog friendly too. Beautiful local beaches close by. Very peaceful and tranquil area. Would return.
Cons: Nice peaceful and quiet location but a bit of a drive if your wanting a meal or drink out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable rooms and a great view from the lounge - watch out for the birds of prey Friendly, welcoming host Convenient location in Arnol - 15 miles west of Stornoway Plenty of parking for both cars and bikes
6.0 Good
Pros: Comfy bed & good view.
Cons: Access to the delux room was via a tight spiral staircase, obviously not dog friendly, we had to carry the dog up & down the stairs. The grounds could have been better kept.
6.7 Good
Pros: The B&B is located in the lonely village of Arnol, with a good view on the Atlantic ocean. The owner is very kind and friendly, the room and bathroom were spacious and clean with nice view on the sea. Location very quiet.
Cons: Unacceptable at this price that customers have to prepare continental breakfast by themselves and then wash dishes and cutlery by themselves! Horrible Nescafe coffee! Cleanliness and order in the kitchen well below the usual standard for a scottish B&B. Our room was located upstairs and late in the evening we could hear voices from other customers and the owner chatting in the common living room below.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable room with a view over the water to Lews Caslte. Friendly staff, helpful with ferry departures etc. An excellent breakfast and was available early if you have an early ferry to catch. Perfect !
7.0 Good
Pros: Perfect for that quick work trip. Food exceptional.
Cons: Room could be larger
7.0 Good
Pros: The food is good and the staff are great. It's a lovely building but a bit noisy (eg the aircon (I think) kept me awake)
Cons: Service was a bit stretched one evening - I appreciate the unfavourable economics of the location and time of year but it's still frustrating, having to ask for everything rather than be asked.... the staff really are nice but the service is basic.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic guest house and the owners were absolutely lovely and helpful, even helped get out ferry tickets printed for the return journey. Breakfast was also really good and owners were accommodating around the time we could have breakfast which meant we could have a slightly longer lie in. The Guest House is really close to the ferry port so ideal for getting parked close to it but it is also really close to the town centre and a large Tesco's. The only thing the owners could not do was change the weather but we still enjoyed our two-days stay traveling across Harris and Lewis I would definitely stay at the Hal O' the Wynd if back in Stornoway!
Cons: Nothing at this price point!
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Not what was expected
Cons: Staff
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was so comfy I never wanted to leave! The hosts were very nice and breakfast was lovely.
Cons: Water pressure in the bathroom wasn't very strong so it took a while to wash the suds out of my hair.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Handy for port Checkin anytime
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful views, perfect location for exploring, friendly owners.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I'm an awkward eater being a vegan and Shona went out of her way to accommodate me and supplied me with a lovely breakfast. Will stay again whenever I'm in the area.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: friendly host, good breakfast and great location.
Cons: Thw bed is bit small & soft.
7.9 Good
Pros: The duvets and bed linens were very nice. Allie was very helpful.
Cons: The shower was difficult to use. The toilet used copious amounts of water to flush. Our room with a view was a skylight. The view, in reality, was a shared bathroom with surrounding windows, complete with binoculars, to view the harbor. I'm very sorry that we paid for a view that we obviously could not enjoy. Breakfast was the least enjoyable breakfast that we had during the 2 1/2 week stay in Scotland. The fruit was in grocery produce containers, hopefully washed, from which the guest was expected to plate. Opened cereal boxes were lined under a side table. The sausage was of lesser grade, unlike we had anywhere else in Scotland, as was the bread for toast, which we pulled from a bag, along with everyone's hands.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: They were very friendly and helpful, it was a lovely stay

Pros: The host is just amazing, she is very welcoming, friendly, helpful.. all the positive aspects, she is them all. my friends and I had an excellent time here, we were glad we stayed 2 nights, so we could enjoy the place. The amenities are incredible, a lot more than a hotel room. Totally recommended!!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: nice people lovely house that you have the run of could not fault the property or the people.
Cons: the only problem it is remote and a nightmare to find on the first visit but we left home 2days early and missed the directions sent by e-mail perhaps that would have made a difference.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is great. A lot of details (microwave, fridge, toaster, plates, cuttlery and plenty of teas, coffee, sweets and the list could go on and on). We also had the opportunity to drink a beer and chat with our host Alison. Everything is clean and very tidy. We found the place quite well using the gps location. Thank you so much!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast. Very helpful owner.
7.9 Good
Pros: Clean with a very comfortable bed. Friendly hosts
Cons: We felt the room was standard rather than delux. The ensuite was tiny more of a modified wardrobe. It was clean and had everything we needed but someone with any degree of mobility needs or slightly larger would have had difficulty. The towels could have been bigger.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: So clean, charming, elegant, terrific value for money and Linda the owner took my bags to my next hotel because I was walking! Such a nice person!
Cons: Can’t think of a thing!
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location a 10 minute walk from the town centre.
Cons: Breakfast is served up to 0845 which I feel is early for guests on holiday. The room was very expensive given it's quality and the location of the property with traffic noise from the main road. We were only supplied with one key for the room which caused some logistical issues given the room was occupied by 2 people. Overall, I felt that the establishment could have been a little more customer focused.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent
9.4 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at the Guesthouse for 5 days. It is quite pleasant and very centrally located; very easy walking to anything in Stornoway and the HebCelt Festival entrance was only 2 1/2 blocks away. The staff was very friendly and very accommodating. The breakfast was good and included the famous Stornoway Black Pudding by Charles Macleod
Cons: Some might find the rooms a little small. For me, they were fine, as my plan was to be out-and-about most of the time.

4.0 Okay
Pros: Comfortable rooms. Restaurant in evening is good, but pricey (separate business from the guest house). Unfortunately opening hours of restaurant is unpredictable.
Cons: Poor attitude from staff, particularly waitress at breakfast. Quality of food/drink at breakfast poor - only instant coffee available, and the fruit salad on the cold buffet was rotting. Breakfast doesn't start serving until 7.45 - refusal to offer any flexibility.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was really good and the beds were super comfy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was nice, would stay again.
Cons: It was all good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: a lovely comfortable guest house.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in the annex, which was very spacious. It had an inner hall for hanging up coats and leaving your outdoor shoes. The accommodation had a seating area with writing bureau, plenty of tea and coffee, toiletries, very clean bathroom and comfortable double bed. The room also had a single bed and travel cot, so suitable for a family - especially with the extra seating / play area.

Pros: The location couldn't be handier for the ferry and bus terminal. The accomodation was beautifully presented and very clean with really comfortable rooms. The staff were friendly and down to earth. They could not have done more for us. The breakfasts are truly something to behold and will set you up for a nice hike.
Cons: In all honesty there was nothing about our stay we disliked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous, warm welcome which set the tone for the whole stay. Wonderful cosy room with the most beautiful Harris Tweed accessories. Comfy bed and such a quiet street so no noise. Great little extras like a coffee machine available to all. Breakfast was amazing and freshly prepared by Rachel.
Cons: Nothing !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This b&b is in a great location, close to local amenities. It is very clean and modern & I loved the Harris Tweed accessories in the room. My husband loved the coffee machine outside our room. We were greeted by Rachel, who is fantastic, so friendly and accommodating she couldn’t have done more for us, we had to leave early in the morning to catch the early ferry, so we would miss the breakfast, there was cereal, fruit & yogurts left for us. Rachel happened to be there as we were eating and made us toast and my husband scrambled egg which he said was the best he had ever had. When we finished breakfast Rachel had made us bacon sandwiches to take on the ferry with us, she is a real asset to the b&b. There is a nice wee sitting room with tv and dinning table which is great to enjoy an evening takeaway meal which we did.
Cons: Nothing it was great

5.0 Okay
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: shared bathroom
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Helen was exceptionally good, helpful, accommodating and very warm. The decor, furniture and fittings at Lathamore are all top quality with superb attention to the tiny details that make you realise that they care. The bathroom is massive, bigger than any we have seen! The bath is huge too being long and so deep for a relaxing soak. The split level guest lounge/diner (approx 19m x 7m) has big screen TV and DVDs plenty of comfortable seating a huge dining table that easily seats 8 people. Views from here across the town to watch the ferries come and go. Helen's cooking would grace any Michelin * restaurant, she cooked us an evening meal and it was the best meal by far that we have eaten in all our 23 days out (and we did many 'gourmet' over priced places), and not just very good food but good portions too.
Cons: Only personal preferences which are visitor variable (for me it was a bed a little soft and quilt a little short). This is insignificant and is only my opinion. Don't let this put you off, this was still the best B&B by a country mile.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Porridge was superb
Cons: Room felt a little cramped
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hostess was wonderful. She made us dinner (for a reasonable price) even though we were not able to arrange that in advance. Breakfast was amazing and the facility was really first class. Had a lovely conversation with other guests. We had a beautiful view from our window.
Cons: The bathroom was gorgeous, but we had a few technical issues with the shower. Might have been our inexperience though.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Highly recommended. Many things to like - the comfortable room, the large modern bathroom, the good breakfast and the warm welcome. There’s option to have evening meal which is good as there are not many eating places at night in Stormoway. Good WiFi is available. So is parking. Lathamor is about two miles from the city centre but it is a straightforward drive or an easy bus ride. Lathamor gives easy access to roads to all parts Lewis.
Cons: Maybe the drive might be off putting for some.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast and friendly landlady. Disabled stair lift and large bathroom. There is parking. Wifi was strongest in lounge. Landlady made us a lunch to take with us as we left before 6am for the ferry to Ullapool.
Cons: The dining room was very chilly in the morning and our room was very small. Be aware that several of the rooms have shared bathroom setup. It was 20 pounds a night to switch to en-suite (if available)
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Helen was very welcoming and helpful and her food was delicious!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Room was comfortable, clean and cozy. Lovely breakfast and evening meal. I was upgraded to a twin room with no additional charge. Host was extremely helpful and friendly.

Cons: A bit dated and the bed was a bit small but I think I knew that.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendly owner with excellent local knowledge
Cons: Shared bathroom
8.3 Excellent
Cons: The bathroom ,there was no bath mat ,and the bin was full
4.2 Okay
Pros: The place was barely adequate, and it was quiet.
Cons: Room was VERY small, bathroom not very clean, bowl of rotten fruit on breakfast buffet, no outside lighting at night. The proprietor does not meet the guests when they arrive but instead leaves a note on the door. He possibly was dealing with a sick relative.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The views over the beach. It's not a beach for walking on but there is a footpath above the beach so you can walk around.
Cons: Nothing. Even the weather was great.

Pros: Louie was amazing! Our Ferry in the to island ended up being almost an hour late and it was about an hour drive to the Dragonfly and Louie said no worries to take our time (we got in at 10pm at night). He was very attentive and even got to meet his daughter who was charming and funny. The place was clean and the room was amazing! The food was fantastic and we would definitely stay there again. The Bed was one of the most comfortable beds we had on the trip and had an excellent 2 night of sleep. The Bay window in the room was beautiful and makes me want that in my own house! Thank you Louie so much again!
Cons: Honestly there was nothing we did not like about this stay.

Cons: Location is good for west side and north of Lewis but obviously is quite a way from Harris. Just be sure that's what suits you.
