Pros: We were touring on motorcycles and were made very welcome here . Lovely place to stay , the breakfast was excellent and so was the room too . 7 of us stayed there and we all thought that the rooms and the location were superb . Tucked down a quiet back street we had a peaceful nights sleep . The view from the balcony of the gardens was really nice too . We asked where the best place to eat at night was and we were told about a restaurant a short walk away where we had a very good evening meal and a few pints . Loved staying here and hope to return again before too long

Pros: Nice lovely small village & good staff!
Pros: Small, but comfortable rooms that work very well for one night. Bad rooms facilities were very new. Very friendly staff. The price was very low, so it was a fair deal
Cons: The bad rooms was very small and the WiFi did not work at all.
Pros: All was good
Cons: All was good
Pros: good countryside hotel, bathroom is small but if to compare it with the cost of hotel and hotel restaurant then it is ok, anyway if i have chance i will stay there again
Cons: have little problems with wifi during my stay
Pros: The on-site restaurant offers excellent traditional food and local beer. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy. We enjoyed staying here even though it was only a one night stay.
Pros: Great hotel and nice staff. Good breakfast and comfortable rooms.
Pros: The food was amazing. The room was very comfortable
Cons: Liked everything
Pros: All of it. When I arrived early they let me check in. Out side there is sitting areas and it is right on the plaza. Meat & bakery shops across the plaza. A quiet town & relaxing. Don't drink coffee.
Our hotel is set in a beautiful location on the edge of a forest, overlooking the town of Marktredwitz in the valley below, and is nicely suited to travellers seeking rest and relaxation. Whether you are a business or leisure traveller, this is the ideal place to stay to switch off and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Come here and set off on hiking and cycling routes from Marktredwitz, only a short distance from the Fichtelgebirge mountain range and the Czech border.
Cons: Shower head not attached to wall. Room was small for two people.
Pros: Staying with a dog is no problem. For dogs a great place, behind the hotel an extensive forest. Personally very friendly. Silent place. People in the neighborhood very helpful.
Pros: The quiet location on the edge of a wooded area, and just a short walk into the town.
Cons: As soon as we reached the Am Wald Hotel, there was none there. We call and they said "the key is under the carpet". Key was not there so they said "Oh, my colleage forgot it, please come to the hotel in town and we give you a double room here". The hotel in town was not a hotel we would have chose but was really late and we had no option. We paid full our reservation for a place that we believe, must be cheaper. Personal was ok but they were not able to manage the original reservation. Room was not perfect clean, the couch was too soft and the toilet was not well fitted.
Pros: This was our third stay. We were very satisfied again. It is a quiet place and the staff is very friendly. Everything clean. Many thanks to the staff for their willingness to meet our requirements and look forward to next time!
Pros: Quiet location close to the wood
Cons: No elevator
Pros: The breakfast was a buffet with plenty of choice and good coffee.I liked the location because it is on the edge of town, and the surrounding countryside offered pleasant views of low hills and forest. If you are walking from the station there is a fairly steep 30 minute walk uphill.
Pros: Beautiful scenery, good breakfast, clean and neat rooms, friendly and affordable staff, peace and quiet in the area, ideal for a good night's sleep. Highly recommend.
Cons: I have no objections
Pros: My second stay at this guest house. Very nice! The amazing room that suits our dogs. Staff very pleasant. Breakfast very good. Thank you! We will definitely come back! :-)
This hotel features an oriental-style spa area, a garden with farm animals and free parking. It is next to the train station in Marktredwitz - a small town in the Fichtelgebirge Mountains. The large rooms at the privately-run Meister BÄR HOTEL include a minibar, TV and private bathroom. The Meister BÄR has a restaurant serving creative dishes and a bistro serving small meals. There is also a cocktail bar with conservatory. The Meister BÄR HOTEL’s highlight is the beer garden with adventure playground and farmyard animals. Marktredwitz’s town centre is less than a 5-minute walk from the Meister BÄR HOTEL.
Pros: excellent hotel in front of the railway station and a good car park round the back . it is easy to find and just 10 mins to the centre of town . my room was big with a double bed and the bathroom was excellent and the staff were helpful and friendly . i had breakfast and dinner during my stay , both were excellent .
Pros: the bar.
Cons: Cold room. very very small rooms. Bathroom 1 metre by 2 metres. broken tiles. Curtains don't fit windows. laser light and lights shine through window. red and orange striped lift door mmm just shows décor.
Pros: superb breakfest, 5 Stars! Silent Location, but still at the train Station. Easy to reach.
Cons: I forgot a T-shirt there for sure , and now they are saying that didn't find it . This is a Rob from my pont of view. The t -shirt was value on 180 euros, so i'm not happy at all.
Pros: Got friendly smile to forget the long trip .... this is unpayable.
Cons: WIFI was not accessible in room 310 but this could be my fault .... anyway it was late in the evening
With a stay at Bairischer Hof in Marktredwitz, you'll be within a 10-minute drive of Alexandersbad Castle and Fichtelgebirgs Museum.
Pros: Great location in an historic hotel in the old town
Cons: It was a bit fiddly on arrival. A lot of my booking info had to be re-entered for some reason, which took time.
Cons: Water temperature in shower was very low.
Pros: Location direct in the Centre, nice staff, comfortable room
Pros: The staff were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfast choices extensive.
Cons: As the building is an historical one, the insulation isn't the best; I could hear the noisy guests in the next room and the room was a bit cold (late November). But this is an historical property, so one shouldn't be too critical!
Pros: Good breakfast Very quiet Clean Very friendly staff Shops and restaurants close by
Cons: Room a bit small but functional Not much comfort
Pros: The location is superb. Marktredwitz is a wonderful small city in Bavaria, and the hotel is just in the centre of the city. I had very picturesque view from my window - an old church on the street with medieval architecture. The room was cosy and spacious.
Pros: Good location across the street from the old city hall. O.K. breakfast.
With a stay at Soibelmanns Hotel Bad Alexandersbad in Bad Alexandersbad, you'll be a 2-minute walk from Alexandersbad Castle and within a 5-minute drive of Fichtelgebirgs Museum. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. This hotel has 5 meeting rooms available for events. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Comfortable Bed, and idyllic surroundings.
Cons: This is meant to be a 4 star property. I assume at a 4 star property that a certain level of service, friendliness and customer care would be maintained. With the exception of a friendly waitress at breakfast and the cleaning staff, the staff in general is unhelpful, unfriendly and seems suspicious of 'foreigners.' which, of course, for a hotel is problematic. To be fair, this seems to run through the entire region, as I experienced similar inability to connect with what the guest needs in restaurants, stations and other service location throughout Wundsiedel/bad Alexandersbad/Markredwitz. An example from this hotel: I wanted to order room service. There were two numbers to call. The first number was never answered. The second number refused to take and order and suggested I call the first number, although I explained there was no one answering. Sadly, I can't recommend this hotel or this region as a travel destination, unless you have to go for some reason, stay away.
Pros: Just a really good hotel
Pros: - very clean - tasty breakfast - friendly staff - old hotel but kept clean - free underground parking
Cons: - very remote location - the building was built in the 70s and this is visible (however still a very clean hotel)
Pros: Have read several a bit negative reviews of Hotel Alexander Bad. We got a very good room with a large balcony. Excellent beds! Everything fine except wifi. We enjoyed a very good a la carte dinner in the restaurant and a rich breakfast. Much value for our money.
Cons: The wifi connection in our room could be improved.
Pros: The view from the my room was lovely
Cons: the hot breakfast was cold despite being under heaters. the wifi dropped out as there was a large party of Chinese in the hotel draining it so working was frustrating. From the outside it looks modern, but the hotel looks tired and could do with modernising
Pros: Classical hotel building, big room, furniture not modern but in very good conditions, extremely comfortable bed, balcony, big flat screen and bathroom refurbished and extreme clean. Super breakfast!!!
This modern hotel in the centre of Wunsiedel is directly connected to the Fichtelgebirgshalle Events Centre. It features a spa area and free garage parking. Rooms at Meister BÄR HOTEL Wunsiedler Hof are decorated in soft tones and fitted with modern furnishings. Each comes with TV set, minibar and includes en suite bathrooms with shower or bath. Guests can enjoy an outdoor café with terrace and a typical beer garden. The Meister Bär's spa area includes sauna, solarium and a fitness room. A skittle alley is also available. Popular nearby attractions include Luisenburg Rock Labyrinth and the extensive Fichtelgebirge Museum.
Pros: centeally located
Cons: although clean the furniture is absolutely basic and absolutely no “personal “
Pros: Bathroom and showers were very clean and easy to use. Simple, but fine.
Cons: For a 3 star in a small city this is bad value for money. I've stayed in hostels that were nicer. Internet was not working at all, which was an issue because of my work. I asked about this before and was assured there is no issue. After reading other reviews, i should have known better...but it was too late. I will read more reviews in the future even if a hotel has ok-ish ratings. Booking.com has always been great and i hope they find a way to onboard other places in smaller towns to give clients more choices.
