The terrace and main courtyard were lovely. Room was ok. It had a toilet and shower that worked and was a good size. Decor was hideous but room was clean. I would suggest haggling for a better price and using as a good budget option.
I felt the owner was always trying to get us to pay for more and slightly over the odds. However, I am a pretty keen haggler so if you're happy with the costs then it's fine (it's not expensive for europeans, just in the context of Morocco.) He suggested we take a private taxi to Volubilis/Moulay idriss for the "special price" of 400 Durhams. We opted to take a grand taxi for 20 each, each way and another taxi to Volubilis for 30 in total each way. So we ended up travelling on our own terms for not much more than a tenner rather than almost 40 euros. He also pushed us into eating there when we only wanted a snack and was quite difficult about it. As with many Riads, he is out to make a profit on the side.
