The staff were courteous, kind and spoke English well. The hotel was in a great location, visible from the train stop at Treis-Karden. Don't be fooled by what the lady at the front desk says, it's about an hour and a half hike to Burg Eltz from the hotel if you don't take the train to Moselkern! It was a beautiful hike though!
It is near to Burg Eltz, which is very beautiful + a must-see. When we asked for an english menu at the hotel restaurant, the waiter seemed to be very insulted and was quite rude with us, saying things in German with a clearly nasty tone. This was despite the fact that we had been told an english menu was available at reception that morning. My partner was very upset and we almost (and should have) walked out immediately. To be fair, the young waitress on that night was very kind, however this experienced coloured our stay at the hotel.
The area is beautiful, the service was excellent, the food was delicious. The carpet in room
Very nice, clean hotel with non-smoking restaurants and rooms.
Very comfortable and very clean nice and airy room with a lovely view. Would have appreciated an English menu or a translation from the waitress when asked but I appreciate that I am in a different country and it is up to me to try to understand the language. Not all the words in the menu are in the phrase books.
Excellent room. Helpfulness of staff to only English guests.good variety of food. Access to Moselle.
Location and restaurant No
Our single rooms were large and nicely decorated. The hotel's restaurant is gourmet quality and our meals were superb. There were two things on the website which were totally misleading. Firstly the description says that part of the hotel is housed in an 800 year old castle. There was no castle at all, so perhaps there was a mistake in the English translation. Also the website said the hotel is 200 metres from the train station and this is not true. At most it is 20 metres from the railway, in fact directly over the road from the station. Almost no English spoken at reception and their restaurant menu was only in German. Fortunately our nice waitress managed to translate some of the menu choices.
the river view is only house roof view !!
Wonderful breakfast selection and a little quiet luxury in a lovely little town on the Mosel River.
Great buffet breakfasts with your choice of egg served to you. Hotel also has excellent dinner menu, which we enjoyed twice with a nice selection of local wines. Our room had a balcony overlooking the Moselle River, which was lovely. Friendly staff. Short walk from Moselkern railway station. Payments need to be made in cash for which we were prepared, but it is worth bearing in mind of course.
staff excellent, very helpful pleasant and understanding. reastaurant and food great and good value. location lovely. no fault of the hotel, but the wine fest in the village across the river had very loud music until 4 in the morning
The staff were very helpful and friendly, the rooms comfortable and the dining room, in particular, was very pleasant. We thoroughy enjoyed the dinner menu and wine list. None
Location and staff The noisy wedding reception! (that was OK, really)
o.k., but didn't sem the sort to go out of their way for you.
Friendly staff. Clean room. Well presented dining room with a professional air. Tasty food at a reasonable price.
Excellent location in the Mosel Valley and very convenient to Burg Eltz and other sites. No baby crib was available. And a double room meant a tiny room with two single beds in single file, not even next to one another.
Nothing When we arrived, we were told that there is an over booking and there are no rooms available. thus the took the initiative to book 4 rooms at the Hotel Traube about 500 meters away.
Very quiet location, near forest, very scenic - still close to tourist areas in mossel valley very accomodating hosts - good breakfasts - very relaxing.
Loveley atmosphere, Landlord and landlady extremely serviceminded!! Absolutely not
we enjoyed the calm, the room spacious, the style "like at home", really a good adress, and not really far from nurburgring!
THe hotel was very good and fit for purpose
We travel to Germany every year. This hotel was the nicest we have ever stayed in and we have stayed in some nice places. The location was quiet (no shops or restaurants in the village but near enough by car) but absolutely beautiful and completely restful. Great location for touring the Mosel and surrounding cities and sites. The facilities were excellent (great indoor pool) and the hotel was spotless. Breakfast exceeded our expectations and the evening meals that we booked were wonderful. Heidi and Stefan (as well as all other staff) were beyond helpful and the highest praise that we can give this hotel is that we fully intend to spend another week there next April. I hate to say anything negative but BBC WorldService (or CNN) on the television would have been nice, although I do enjoy trying to understand German tv.
We both absolutely liked this place. Good service with English, very good food at breakfast and when we ordered dinner. Friendly people run this place. Easy to get to Burg Eltz, Cochem and Mosel/Rhine valleys from here, but you must have a car. Plenty of parking. Remote so it is very quiet at night and there is no other dining or drinking nearby without driving down the hill. Beds firm like all we slept in in Germany, but confortable. Generally a great experience.
Hotel Staff are really warm and kind
This guesthouse was wonderful! I haven't stayed in too many because I really don't like the feeling that you are just staying in somebody's house. They have set everything up so professionally here. The rooms where very large and comfortable. The family who runs it was amazing, the food was really good, the common areas were fabulous and it is close to some great walking trails and bigger cities along the Mosel. Fabulous! Just be aware that it is about a half hour drive to get to area attractions. However, after seeing how crazy Cochem was I think staying out a way was ideal.
Very friendly family run Guesthaus, I would highly recommend eating on the evening at the Waldesblick Ferienhof.spot on.
They do not take card payments... so be advised to have plenty of euros
pleasant stay,very good food too.
The staff was very nice and patient even though we didn't speak German properly. The food served in the restaurant was way above average from what is normally served in restaurants. Noise from other rooms did find its way to our room rather easily.
The area of the hotel
The older lady that were in charge of breakfast. -
Hotel is conveniently located for good access to the autobahn (we stayed overnight en route to Austria). Food and wine good.
Great location and reasonable value for the area WiFi was advertised (on the Bookings.com site) as available, but was code protected. We were told that "because of risk of criminal activity it was not possible to give the code to guests"!
Very helpful staff and delightful views of the River Mosell from the bedroom and restaurant. Did not accept Mastercard or Visa and not aware of this until late the evening before check out.
Great location, warm welcome, great Flamkuchen (thin traditional German pizza type meal) quiet location, home cured ham for breakfast, attention to detail, authentic. Excellent, enjoyable.
The owners make the stay very special.
perfect place! food was limmited but very good, close to "Burg Eltz" lovely area, very tidy and clean!!
Beautiful scenery, friendly, accomodating staff. No hidden fees. Online price is exactly what you pay. Credit cards not accepted.
Ursula was welcoming and accomodating. The scenery and countryside were lovely. The breakfast was great. Beds were comfortable. We had the large room with the balcony, really nice room. Really close to Burg Eltz. Would reccommend this hotel again and again.
helpfulness of staff, relaxed setting, friendly atmosphere, quiet and beautiful surroundings
