Pros: The hotel is beautiful, clean, and well managed. The morning breakfast buffet in the Hickory room was very good and well priced. It is close to major outdoor adventures. We will be back!
Pros: There was a lot to do. The view was breath taking. I loved all the huge windows that you.could see the great view.
Pros: Location was great. Staff not real helpful or friendly.
Cons: Staff not real friendly. Room not especially clean. I found change in the floor, gave me the impression that the floor wasn't clean. The trash can in the bathroom still had trash in it.
Pros: Cleanliness, polite staff and overall the resort had everything
Pros: Wonderful lodge. Has a fresh, new, upscale feeling. 3 years old and still looks a brand new. Rooms are big and comfortable. Highly recommend.
Cons: I was made aware that others who stayed at the hotel got the second night free because they reserved the room late. We had to pay for both nights because I booked the room well in advance. This was unfair; the stay was for the same 2 nights.
Cons: The daily cleaning of the room was acceptable but could have been better. The soup was too salty
Pros: Location of Hotel
I will recommend the hotel and I would advise to eat before settling in.
Pros: It was very easy to sign in and sign out
Cons: The Hickory Dining was very expensive. The staff was not very friendly.
Pros: See below
Cons: The hotel messed up our reservation. Only had one room available when we reserved two. So, we were unable to stay and had to drive 4 hours back home that evening.
Pros: Many new upgrades to entire hotel.
Cons: Was not offered a senior discount until after checkout.
This is very cool resort that offers you 4 star facilities.
Pros: A place in nature's paradise.
Canaan Valley Resort and Conference Center features downhill skiing, snowboarding, and cross-country skiing. Guests can indulge in spa services, and Hickory Room, one of 3 restaurants, serves American cuisine and is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. There's a golf course and an indoor pool, and in-room conveniences include refrigerators and microwaves. Ski passes, storage, rentals, and lessons are also available.
Pros: I like that the staff was extremely helpful with giving me and my family places to go that was around in the area. Knowing what will be a good fit or looking up something for us. They help with directions to get to what sounded best.
Cons: The hotel is in the middle of everything around. So there will be a drive when staying.
Pros: Looked to be built in the 70's old style but great place to stay on a budget. Girlfriend and I went for a Christmas vacation to Ski at TimberLine ski resort. For the skiing the snow was terrible, icy. For the hotel well taken care of, bed was comfortable, and hot showers. If you don't need luxury stay here. Oh and pets are welcome, exactly what I was looking for. Friendly Staff. Munchies within walking distance.
Cons: Outdated appliances. TV stations were fuzzy.
Enjoy your visit to Cortland with a stay at Canaan Village Inn. For a bite to eat, guests can check out The Caboose, which serves breakfast. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with premium bedding and free WiFi.
Pros: Great location. Friendly staff. Can't beat the price. The room had a huge bathroom and the view was incredible.
Cons: The beds aren't very comfortable. There are no curtains on the windows. If you're like me don't count on sleeping in, blinds don't block sunlight.
